Like the Rendezvous it's a must when in Kodiak. Easy to order online and outstanding food and service.

This place is great with super nice people. If you have any regard for others place your order online so the rest of us don’t have to wait in line for 20 minutes.

Great coffee shop However it is over priced and Wait times for your order are (30-60 minutes) very long.

I visited here for the first time with a stranger I saw walking on the road and invited along to have lunch with me after church. Ha ha, impromptu picnic. The owner greeted us with smiles and we broke into laughter for a moment while I stumbled my way through my order. We chatted and ate in the sun while sitting at the tables out front. The food and service at Java Flats were all quite wonderful. I'm not certain why people mention the price, when one can go to Mcdonalds and get bad service, cold food, and the wrong order every single time for the same amount of money.

The food is amazing the service is great. But drive thu only. They have an amazing online menu I recommend ordering ahead.

Delicious but I wish the dine in option was open.

Coffee was good, breakfast sandwich good. Like that they put apple slices in...outdoor space was the only sit down area, but too many flies to enjoy properly. Still, worth the drive from hotel.

Keep in mind it's drive through or outdoor seating only. Always heard great things and obviously the reviews share that sentiment. Food was great and faster than i had anticipated. Interesting fog-like drink options. I tried one. Staff is friendly, everything seems clean and organized. If you do decide to stop by, sit, and eat i recommend layers. Thankfully i had planned for the worst so was able to spend a while eating on the porch before any cold set in. Watching the rain with warm food and a hot drink is a must do in Kodiak.

The food is terrific. Drive through only service and the only seating is outdoors on the front covered deck. Generally not a place to go if you are in a rush but definitely worth the wait if you have a few moments to do so. The online pre-ordering is simple and they got our orders right every time. Great selection.

Order online and drive up for pickup. Dining inside is not available although there are a few tables and chairs out front. Definitely get the cookies!

100/10. I love, love, love this place. My husband and I lived in Kodiak for about a year and this was our absolute FAVORITE place to go. I can't get enough of their trailblazer sandwich on croissant and their london fogs... UGH~! Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. I love them. I love you. I miss eating here every day I'm alive. I hope to visit again soon! Mwah!

I live 3,500 miles away and my coworkers never stopped raving about this place. I can say it was worth it! I got the pesto chicken sandwich on a sesame bagel and a side of corn and pepper chowder. Both tasted great, but the chowder was admittedly a little greasy. Washed it down with a seasonal peppermint white chocolate mocha and the famous cookies. Make sure you don't leave without the cookie. The staff were very friendly and make an effort to get to know the customers. Definitely coming back before I leave!

Great sandwich, got the trailblazer on a jalapeño cheddar bagel, and it was fantastic! A little pricey, but you're paying for quality and taste, will absolutely visit again! Definitely seemed popular, had to wait for a bit, always a good sign. Also grabbed a chocolate chip cookie, it was huge, easily six inches across. Love it!

Love how you can order ahead and customize your order! Also a great spot for seeing bears while sipping your coffee!

Java Flats was hands down my favorite restaurant while living on island! Not much of a coffee drinker, it was a treat having a variety of hot tea options to choose from. Whether popping in for a huge delicious cookie or one of the amazing croissant sandwiches, a trip to Java Flats was always a treat. It’s been more than two years since moving off island, and I still think about the amazing space Alicia created with so many wonderful memories. 10/10 would recommend!

Can’t say enough about their customer service and quality of coffee and food. They are always friendly and happy to be keeping the population of Kodiak well caffeinated :D Plus, the cookies are out of this world. The photo shows a couple gingerbread cookies I picked up this morning. I’ve also had several of their vegetarian sandwich and chili options and they’re equally as delicious. So glad to have this option a mere 6 minutes from me!

Just got back from Kodiak. Went out to eat at 5 different places and I have to say this was my favorite. The food is excellent as are the giant cookies. Can't wait to visit Kodiak again. Will be back to Java Flats next year.

We're huge fans of Java Flats! Their food is delicious, & the unique, quaint but cozy, mountain ski-resort coffee & breakfast-bistro vibe is perfectly balanced with the welcoming & small-town-friendly team that works there. We love it so much that when we were in Kodiak visiting my Daughter & her husband, who was stationed at the Coast Guard base in 2012, we visited Java Flats almost every morning for 2 straight weeks... & I developed an addiction to their homemade granola bars. Even after returning home to Virginia Beach, I've never forgotten how delicious those granola bars were. I've looked everywhere locally, & even learned how to make my own granola bars, but they just didn't hold a candle to Java Flats granola bars. In fact, nothing even comes close. So, after all these years of missing those incredibly good granola bars, I finally messaged Alicia at Java Flats, & she was kind enough to go out of her way & mail a bunch of her homemade granola bars to me all the way out here in Virginia Beach! And guess what?!? They're every bit as delicious as I remember! My Husband & I were thrilled, & I could not be happier, or more grateful, for her taking her personal time to do such a kind & gracious favor for me! This place is just THE BEST! The food is fantastic, but it's the team that calls Java Flats home that is what really makes it so special! I couldn't recommend them more highly, & Alicia, I just can't thank you enough! ❤🏞☕🍪🏔

Fantastic Cafe next door to the equally fabulous Russian River Roadhouse where we stayed for 10 days. The owner Jimmy is a wealth of knowledge and incredible help. I fished, hiked, biked, flew, boated, whale watched, ATV'd, ate, drank and about everything else and came back with 75lbs of Salmon, Rockfish, Flounder, Halibut, and Cod.

Amazing food. Recomend the trail blazer with fruit for side.

Really really good and fresh food. This photo is the Bells Flats Bagel. Yummy iced vanilla breves too. Be prepared to drop some dough, kinda pricy.

Excellent! Java Flats offers gourmet sandwiches, soups, salads, coffee/tea , and fresh baked goods. When available they use organic produce, buy local and use compostable paper to-go containers and corn based compostable “plastic” to go cups. My favorite is the freshly baked cookies (Best in Kodiak). Eat lunch there, or take it TO-GO as you explore Kodiak Island!!

Java Flats is an amazing place to go have a wonderful breakfast sandwich or burrito. They have the freshest salads that can feed 2 people and the soup is delicious! Customer service is hands down the best, even on the busy days! My favorite part about Java Flats is the fresh baked cookies! They have a wonderful variety to choose from and offer gluten free as well. A must try when you visit the Emerald Island!

Love the Jam n' Ham!! I was skeptical, but it was so yummy! The wait is so worth the reward!

Great family friendly atmosphere and waitstaff, sandwiches are good and coupled with the soup are a very hardy meal. Sort of famous for their cookies as well, considering the location the amount of people who come for lunch or use the drive thru should be recommendation enough. But if it is not, then your first visit will convince you to come back to the ample menu of very tasty selections. Hours are till 3 so keep that in mind.

Wonderful restraunt and coffee shop. A true Kodiak staple and a wonderful place to stop any day for a cookie & coffee, a bite to eat, and a warm and inviting atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who appreciates good food.

Best coffee house on the Island by far. Food is amazing, I especially like the oatmeal which comes with lots of tasty toppings. I hope to return soon. In Sept. you head there early in the am, get a cup of joe to go and go watch the bears eating fish in the nearby creek. Awesome !

Awesome coffee shop and lunch spot. Sandwiches were really fresh and definitely dope. Good selection of teas. The barrista was really helpful with the tea selection. Good selection of giant cookies. Pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. Just note there are only a few indoor tables and a few outside, so you might take a jacket in case you are eating outside and it's chilly.

When I want a treat, I go out and indulge in their salmon sandwich, a big cookie, and one of their warm drinks. The atmosphere is very cozy and the staff is always so pleasant.
