Just stopping in from out of town, decided to give this place a try. Establishment is dirty and outdated, chairs were nasty, as soon as I touched mine, I had bbq sauce all over my hand. The cashier wasn’t friendly or welcoming at all. We ordered 3 2pc rib snacks and a banana pudding, the total was well over 65.00, took about 25 minutes to get the food. We sat down to eat but our food was served bagged up. The ribs were drowned in sauce, had to use paper towels to remove most of it. The meat was ok, not seasoned at all just smoked and sauced. The baked beans were straight from the can, same as the green beans, no flavor or anything special, the potato salad was terrible as well, no one ate the slice of bread so I can’t comment on that. The banana pudding was ok, tasted like they whipped cream in the pudding, I had about 3 slices of banana and 2 cookies in the bottom. No sooner then we got on the interstate I threw up everything I had ate, food poisoning, my cousin had the same issue, a 4 hour ride home in misery.

Waited 40 minutes for nothing then they didn't want to give me a refund SMH this is the shitty spot I don't care how good the food is matter of fact I can't say how it tastes cause I never got served

Anytime I'm in town this will always be my first stop I've been going here for years and years (back when they were off Edgewood) I won't lie preparation takes a minute but wouldn't you wait for great food?.. Needlessly to say all there food items are awesome (ribs chicken pies and etc). The drive thru guy is my absolute favorite so patient understanding and has character Jerome Brown is a family business that goes back a very long time and I am Thankful for him keeping the business alive please visit this place when you can.

Who takes 45 minutes just to get three orders of curly fries. SMH🤷‍♀️

Failed to comprehend my order and needs

The food here is ok I’ve been twice when I visit ATL, unfortunately I won’t be returning the service here is TERRIBLE!!! I don’t understand why black establishments don’t know anything about customer service. The customers are the ones that are keeping you in business . So sorry I will not be back good luck on your crappy customer service

My husband and I eat there at least once or twice a month and we are Never disappointed! Thin ends are my favorite 🤩! Mrs. Joann, is most genuine person you will ever meet! Another reason I trust the food!

I had the barbecue once before when it was delivered to my hotel but just last week when I traveled back to Jacksonville to cover ttlheir preseason game against the KC Chiefs, I finally got the chance to visit the restaurant and I must say, for someone who is from the BBQ Capitol of the world, this was some pretty good barbecue. For the price and the QUALITY and for a half a slab of ribs, the QUANTITY, oh my, it is definitely worth the time to stop in and enjoy some of their food. The location, the building, the people make you feel like you're at home. I will admit, even though I hate coming to Jacksonville because of the weather, I will ALWAYS make this place a point to come by and eat. They make their own sauce, which was great, but the food was just superb. Trust me, as I'm back in KC, I wish they would send me some now. If you get a chance, stop in because the service, people, and food are 5 stars. Most importantly, you'll get a chance to see why they've been in business for so long.

I know at any take out service you can expect a wait time... but over an hour wait at the drive thru window is ridiculous, since I'm handicapped I usually go through the drive thru.. well on 8/9/24 I'm at Jerome BBQ waiting, put in my order @ 8:40p finally had to drive away after waiting until 9:45 pm having to give my ticket order to a family that had been waiting as well...worst kind of service I'd ever experience.. Never Again!! His BBQ ain't all of That

Lately my visits have been negatively impacted. The lady taking orders comes off as mean, mad or just having a bad day, ALMOST ALWAYS.. so I'm over them.. I'll stick with Austin's

The wait they drive thru is over am hour wait! Order online and they text and say it’s ready and it’s not. Hasn’t even started being prepared 40 minutes after ordered online. Customer service is horrible and extremely ghetto! Food is good but horrible customer service makes the food not worth it! Wouldn’t recommend

I asked for a menu and was told they didn't have a menu. I asked what were the ingredients in a dish and the lady at the register said matter of factly, "I don't know". I tried not to laugh. But the ribs are amazing. I'll keep buying over and over.

Waiting over 45 minutes for half a chicken, rib sandwich and fries. This is pathetic. A simple " there maybe a wait." Would' ve been satisfactory, however, as I have a choice where my hard earned dollars are spent. Needless to say Jerome Brown Bar b que will never receive a red cent from my household.

THIS IS THE SLOWEST ESTABLISHMENT IVE EVER BEEN TOO. There is no sense of customer service or urgency at all. I’ve been waiting over 30 minutes for 1 sandwich. There are 3 other people who were here before me and they are equally frustrated. If you’re looking for convince it’s not here. You must have absolutely nothing else to do.

EDIT; My first experience here was not particularly great, but the team at Jerome Brown made up for it on our second visit. I think we caught them at a better time today. Everything was delicious. The second visit is what I expect from them and they showed out. The picture shows my food almost gone. The quality is night and day.

Ga e them a try a 2nd time and there still at 3 stars for me went last Wednesday ordered a snack pack white meat chicken was tough, green beans taste straight from a can & coleslaw taste straight up like slaw mix added with mayo I actually threw the slaw away.

was very shocked,unpleased! waited 30 minutes for 10 peice lemon pepper drumetts!in past they were whole naked wings in lemon pepper.guess recipe has changed as customer service.they tell u pull to window to order due to the speaker not working i assume..u place order at window then pull in front in parking spot.they supose to bring food to you i was told!i was parked by red truck which he was before me they brought out his food lady seems to have issues with legs or bad knees,she then again brought out another order for before me.she never brought out my order.my daughter went in and over heard her saying she not walking that far her legs hurting something to that affect,i gusess... i would still be waiting if my daughter didnt go in and get my wings.the wings still had plenty of feathers like they just killed it and now frying it!so disappointed!this was my fave spot 3 years ago.If you having bad day,knees bad,legs bad u may wanna try something different if you the one gotta bring food out!you may wanna sit at window and take orders instead of walking them out!the lady took my order was very pleasant sweet tho! but yall gotta do better with the wings and customer service before yall be on restauraunt Report!I think someone just open shop here in their name!This cant be the real one!

Man I will never come here again. I waited an hr for just 20wings n 2 small sides. Messed my sauces up 2x. . But it’s on the ticket!! I’m so confused on the customer service here. Communication is a must. It’s a reason why they said no REFUNDS !!! Won’t get my services any more . Gave The 5 stars on the food until we went to eating and then boom a chicken wing not cooked all the way!! Pink in the insides!!! I’m livid

This place was trash in the little red shack on the neighborhood corner. Now it's occupying a bigger space to charge more for the same horrible food and worse service.

Drive-Thru wait time is way too long! Old prices on menu board drive- thru,....needs to be updated. Food was hot and fresh..but the wait time is horrendous, if they're busy. Holding up line, "training new employees" makes the wait time even worse! Step it up, Management. No complaints about the food however.

This place need to be shut down. They take 12hrs to fix ur food. They take your money, park you and forget about you. I saw them reheat the food in the microwave. Not only that they have the front door locked.

My boyfriend and I waited ina very long drive-thru line because there is no speaker box, just to get to the window and not only did the gym at the window not know about the specials posted on their menu inside (which they did not honor), he didn't know what else they sold either. It wasa complete waste of 20 minutes...

Came in today ordered the jumbo lemon pepper wings. The skin on these things are amazing. Nice and crispy juicy wings. 👌🏽

Food was good, can’t complain but the sweet tea was plain and awful. Then the menu prices are just wrong I got charged an extra 5$ for something and they didn’t even tell me what for. Their menu isn’t up to date and the ‘meals’ they offer is only for lunch and not dinner but the menu doesn’t tell you that. If you wanna get up charged for above average food come here.

The food was great but the service was terrible!! They also false advertise. I ordered a large baked beans which is 7.49 on the menu, they charged me 11 dollars for it and didn’t tell me. They didn’t refund my money and just wanted to argue about it. The food was good but entirely overpriced. You have to order everything separately which ends up being like over 20 dollars for a meal. Overall it was bad and im never coming back!!

Maybe if we protest this place the food might not make you sick and the service might pick up. They are supposed to be the neighborhood best Barbecue what has happened to this place. 👎🏿 need to add this just received my food I requested no sauce on the meat and the server repeated it twice no sauce would you believe they still put sauce on the meat. service slow you got 1 short lady who walk around who look like she slow and going in and out the bathroom and behind the counter and she keep smilling at you then walk outside they take a long time to take your order it take a hr to comeout

The wait time to receive rib tips and curly qs order is ridiculous!!! 😕 If you are an extremely patient person you will have no problem - my wait time was 47 minutes.

We had to wait an hour and 15 minutes just to get our order in August in Jacksonville Florida the temperature is very hot especially the time that we went to Jerome Brown they take your money and then make you wait in the parking lot in extreme HOT weather, the restaurant was not open for some reason but you could not go in and get some type of relief from the heat this is bad service and although the barbecue is good if I could have gotten my money back I would have but that would have required me getting back in the line waiting probably another hour to get up to the cashier and then getting my money back this is unacceptable to any restaurant protocol they are like Jenkins BBQ that when you go there you have to wait extreme times in the drive-thru to get your food, if you have that type of time and want to wait that long then this is the place for you other than that I'll go to another restaurant and get barbecue that doesn't taste as good but I darn sure don't have to wait an hour to an hour 20 minutes to get barbecue and the service is good I'm being waited on like I would like and I tipped very well, will not be going here anytime soon the wait is too long!!!!!!

I love the food but the service has become slower and slower each time I come here. The inside never open and if it is you have to wait to order still. The speaker not working so you have to order at the window which actually makes service slower cause they take and cook one order at a time. I just want better and faster service. Please don’t give the excuses that quality food takes time to cook when I can go to a restaurant be seated order and eat by the time it takes y’all to bring out chicken tenders and fries. That don’t take 30 minutes plus to make. And the workers don’t have to be rude

The slowest place this city has seen for no reason. You would think your food would be extra fresh or do something to accommodate the wait. Nothing no apologies nothing. Just poor service.

Best BBQ in Jacksonville. Best banana pudding and macaroni too. The sauces are insanely good and compliment the food perfectly. You might have to wait 30 minutes but it is definitely worth the wait. Have not had a bad experience here at all, staff is always nice.

This place has some of the rudest old workers in the world. First off, I waited over an hour for ONE order. The lady that i spoke with was very unprofessional. The team was slow making all meals. and then when i asked her when mines would be done, she insisted on trying to argue and yell at me saying to be patient. Lady its been a whole hour. hurry up!!! then she gets mad because 5 other people start complaining and tried to kick me out and told me to go thru the drive thru. I DID NOT!! baby who you think you is??? just very rude, disgusting disrespectful behavior. this place has gone downhill and they should close! Anyone thinking of coming here, please go to holly barbecue. they have a better quality and better customer service

After waiting over an hour for a half slab of ribs and rib tip sandwich plus confirming twice that my ribs were to have the sweet red mild sauce. What happens they bring to the car with some yellow sauce on my half slab so I take it back in and the lady states they will remake it 🤣🤣 🤣 I wait an additional 15-20 mins to get home and find that they just poured the red sauce over the yellow sauce that I did not ask for. My husband comes up there weekly to get the half slab I bet he won't anymore bc all you had to do was either be honest that I would have to wait another hour or so or that you wasn't going to fix my food correctly. Honesty is key and my money is good all the time. You can't handle ALL ppl the same folks😉

First time having Jerome's, and it's quite good. Got bbq chicken with the sweet red mild sauce and fries with the sweet tangy sauce. Both great and very distinct from each other. Prices aren't too hi. It's nice having a good BBQ place around the area.

Been going to JB for years! Will admit they have the best mustard bbq sauce hands down of any place I ever been IMO, but they are always out of that for sale as well! Mr. & Mrs. Brown have personally been good people over the years. My last 4 plus visits since they moved to the new building have all been horrible experiences! The drive-thru speaker has never worked anytime I been there, customer service can be rude, wait time well over 1hr & a half plus each time, they have you park because the inside was closed, they bring it out to you after going from car to car to see what people ordered, bbq had absolutely no smoke on it, kitchen is super slow, meat just taste oven baked, part of my order was wrong, Wait time so long they closed and people we're still waiting on food. Spend too much money there each time to receive this type of b.s experience. Unless their sauces go back to the grocery stores, I'm good!

I visited this restaurant 3/31/23. The Rib sandwich was very tasty, they were short of help, which was understandable for the wait being long. The young lady at front counter stated she had only been there a week, after approx 45 minutes, in comes another Young lady, ( attitude from hell) I would like to submit,she had no idea, what and how long the wait has been, she, said, and don't come back and God bless you!! I was recommended this place,I am from Valdosta Ga, I believe in catering to all black owned businesses but, Young lady you will run your money to another establishment. Customer service is a must! Food at Jerome’s is always spot on. Rather than waiting in line in my car. I go inside in their nice air conditioned dining area and listen to some smooth jazz. I have never waited over 45 minutes tops. People need to quit posting negative reviews about Jerome’s. You will never find barbecue sauce like that anywhere in the country. Keep up the good work, Jerome, Joanne, and Katrina.

The food is ok, but not worth the wait or the rudeness! There is no need to order your food online because you still will have to wait for it. Waited 1.5 hours for a salad and a sandwich and then was told, “not my fault, I just work here”! Needless to say I won’t be back. I have tried them 3 tries and it’s been the same way each time!!

Excellent food and even better customer service. Jerome Brown's is a family owned restaurant with staff that makes you feel welcomed. It seems to be popular and because of that, walking in to order will take some time. However, they offer calling ahead, curbside delivery and drive-thru service. No pics this time, but we tried the whole smoked wings, fried fish, green beans, potato salad and they were all hits! And don't forget the original sauce...home run!

Where do I start? Every time I come, regardless if I order there or online, I wait 45+ minutes. It's really ridiculous. The most recent time I ordered online....I got there they hadn't started on my order because...when I ordered I put fries & toast as my sides, only because I couldn't put double fries, BUT I literally left a comment asking for double fries. It's crazy because when I got there I had to talk to someone over the phone that wasn't even there to clarify my order. While my order was being made, NO gloves were used in the process. The older lady who I guess runs the show was touching chicken and bread with NO GLOVES. Not even sure if that's a bad thing, because if they wore gloves they probably wouldn't change them often. It's sad because you really want to support black businesses but their customer service is TRASH. They catch attitudes when you address a problem. And then have the audacity to charge .75 for sauce after having me wait for a hour. I tried with this place, but I cannot. Please DO BETTER!!

Kansas City boy here. This is the best barbecue in Jacksonville. Hell, in Florida. Get the ribs with spicy sauce or the smoked chicken. This is much better than mojos or 4 rivers.

There is a new woman working in there she’s caucasian an amazing!!! Very nice and helpful. I’ve been here twice this week, the lil black girl is very RUDE!! I put my money in her hand and she put my change on the counter. At first I thought it was a rule of the company until I saw her give a guy his change in his hand. And yes we both are Africa Americans. Long story short…. Courtney is the young woman there that JEROME AND HIS WIFE need to hire more like. She’s amazing
