My favorite bar in Chicago! Have a Mexican Martini!

Food is outstanding! Tuna tartar is top quality and simply delicious. I recommend the crab bisque, crab cake, lyonaise potatoes, the New York strip and the banana creme pie. Pass on the ceaser salad, it was bland. I would also pass on the Brussel sprouts next time around. Service was just so so. Very lengthy pauses between table checks we were often looking for our server but the food made up for that.

The food was excellent, and the staff were both friendly and professional. We made a reservation in advance and were treated to outstanding food and drinks.

From beginning to end, this was a wonderful dining experience. The waitstaff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. From suggestions to descriptions, they are there to help you choose a meal you will love. We started with stone crab legs for the table to share. They were amazing, so don’t skip those. Our table got a variety of menu items that included steak, seafood platters, crab cakes, and fish. Our sides were grilled tomatoes (and they are loaded with cheese), baked sweet potato and jumbo asparagus. We finished the meal with peanut butter pie and key lime pie. Everything was delicious, served beautifully, and thoroughly enjoyed. It’s a must visit when you’re in Chicago.

We had seen a recommendation for the smoked old fashion and we reserved a table when we were visiting Chicago at the end of July. What a find! We had a cocktail as we arrived a little early for our reservation and Tamecia was a wonderful hostess! The wonderful night was just getting started. Our server David O knocked it out of the ball park with his suggestions and we met with the sommelier, Sarah, and have a new summer white wine! We split a blt wedge salad, the seafood platter, and then because we couldnt decide on dessert we split a small banana cream and havana pie!

Ive been here a few times and have enjoyed myself obviously they're under management the service was below poor my waitress was rude . I had to excuse myself and go to a real fine dining experience. It's over hype over priced and they're rude 0/10 recommended.

I've dined here many times over the years and Joe's is always a reliable and solid dining experience from beginning to end. The martinis are a big pour add $4 extra but they have blue cheese olives so worth it! The complimentary bread service is nice as more high end restaurants are not offering that anymore. We started with a half dozen raw oysters and they were some of the freshest oysters I've had in a awhile. We also got a cup of Manhattan clam chowder to sample and it was delicious. I got the grilled Seafood platter as my entree bc I couldn't make up my mind what I wanted but wanted a sampling of everything. This is the best bang for your buck here to try a little of everything. It comes with grilled colossal shrimp, grilled lobster tails and grilled scallops. All of it was super good! My husband got the bone-in-filet bc steak is his fave food. He had never tried the filet here and said it was one of the best filets he's had. I tried a couple bites and agree it was very tender and well seasoned. We shared a side of broccolini and those guys were great too. We got a complimentary brownie sundae to end our meal as we were celebrating. It was delicious. I've had other desserts here in the past and recommend the key lime pie, PB pie and peppermint sundae. I also highly recommend the stone crab and the king crab here which are both amazing. The prices are amazingly highly too tho rn lol. But you can't go wrong with Joe's if you want an excellent seafood and steak dinner with excellent service. That hasn't changed over the years!

Joe's is the perfect place to celebrate any occasion! From the moment you enter, you are treated like royalty. The booth seats are very comfortable and intimate. Our server was attentive and kept the conversation flowing. The wine & cocktail menu was impressive. The Old Fashioned and the Hemingway Daiquiri were flavorful and blended perfectly. As for the food menu - I wish we had bigger stomachs to enjoy more of their offerings. The shrimp cocktail included four delectable jumbo shrimp - perfect for two people. As for our entrees - both the ahi tuna steak and petite filet mignon were seared to perfection and melt-in-your-mouth tender! The star of the show is Jennie's mashed potatoes! I wish I could make potatoes taste that creamy and flavorsome. Thank you to the staff for making our experience an enjoyable one.

My husband took me to Joe's for my birthday dinner. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the host who was very personable and made me laugh which was great. We were seated promptly and we were greeted by our server Jesse who was just a whole vibe. He knew his stuff! He was very detailed when explaining the specials. I didn't know what cocktails I wanted so he made two great recommendations. He asked if it was a special occasion, asked if we had an allergies, and showed us where the bathrooms were. My king crab legs were amazing. They were the best I've ever had. They tasted like they were fresh off the boat and very tender. Jesse recommended some corn. WOW! It was amazing! The 4 cheese mac and cheese was to die for. My husband ordered a burger (he is a simple man) and he said it was the best burger and fries he's ever had. Jesse gave me two free dessert options because it was my birthday which I really appreciated. I got the brownie sundae and it was so good! I highly recommend this place and will be asking for Jesse the next time we go!

Google reviews brought us here, and we are here to return the favour because of the EXCELLENT experience we had at Joe's. Firstly, the bone-in ribeye is *chef's kiss*; the most amazing, tender, and delicious beef we had. The sides of corn and fried tomatoes, Midwestern specialties, made the perfect pairing, while the key lime start was the best finisher. Secondly, the host's service is impeccable. From recommending the perfect portions, to the seasonal specials, as well his obvious pride in the quality of food, his service truly enhanced our experience. Last but not least, the ambience is classy and old school, which truly makes Joe's a wonderful evening out. Will recommend this to all friends visiting Chicago.

My wife and I ate in the bar but they have full menu service in the bar or the restaurant. The crab cakes were some of the best I've ever had. My wife's shrimp was cooked perfectly, breaded nicely, and was generously portioned. I had a Rye Old Fashioned that was perfection in a glass.

Oh, the key lime pie! It's probably the best I've ever had! We also got the stone crab, bone in filet, seafood platter and crab bisque. Everything was very good. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back!

Nice place for a formal dinner. Not from Chicago but great stone crab nonetheless but also great steaks to go with the crab claw. See what crab claws are in season when ordering from your food specialist and go from there. Don’t forget the happy hour martinis go great with stone crab!

I was served by Matthew and it was a fantastic evening. We had a great spread to celebrate, proseco, cocktails, scallops, branzino, oysters, fried green tomatoes, creamed spinnach, and pies! What an amazing meal, everything was delicious, service was impeccable, Matt was such a pleasant waiter, and every dish and order was delivered with speed. This was a great experience, and while I want to say I'll be back for another soon I'm not sure if my wallet will allow it! Thank you Matt!

Always consistent, always incredible! A fantastic restaurant for any occasion. One can even bump into a celebrity or two. The stone crab is beyond amazing! The steaks are always cooked to perfection, oysters always fresh. This time I also tried the Chilean seabass, it was incredible. The last time I went to Joe’s it was Joe’s Stone Crab. I forgot about this place and how amazing it is! Everything here is so professional. You feel and are treated like you are in the best steakhouse in the city! Waitstaff so good. Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. The food was amazing. Steaks cooked to perfection and the steaks come with a side of seasoning but you don’t need it at all. I love it when my medium rare steak is prepared properly! The oysters Rockefeller superb. Oh let me backup- do not eat that bread and butter!!! Just don’t do it. It requires such discipline to stop eating it! Warm, fresh and amazing. We enjoyed all the side dishes and that corn was so fresh! If you are in Chicago this is a good option. Oh I don’t LOVE keylime pie but theirs is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! Lovely pie! The GOLD BRICK Sundae is so simple but incredible. Bathrooms were very clean also! Check this place out! Definitely make a reservation!

Joe's is very good, a must-see without a doubt, we went 3 times and it did not disappoint. The food is excellent, the service is always friendly, they serve you well and guide you through the menu. We ate cuts of meat, fish, seafood, and everything is excellent. The price is high, but generally US standard. It's worth every peso.

I flew to Chicago for a business lunch @ Joe’s 8 years ago. So I knew when my wife and I visited Chicago for our anniversary we had to go there for dinner. And it was absolutely fantastic! Jennifer was our server and she was amazing. She knew everything there was to know about the history, food, and the secret to the key lime pie. Her service was incredible and the food was even better. We will go every time we are in town.

Upon arrival arrival we were greeted by a cool gentleman , after a few minutes we were seated , Danny gave us a brief history of the place , then we ordered our drinks and later on our entrees, food was good and fresh , the dessert , mmmmmh , very succulent.as a family we had a great time there , and that was our first trip to Chicago .

Management allowed a table next to ours to feed a non-service dog from the table. When we questioned it management had a give-a-care attitude. I won’t go back. There are many fine restaurants in Chicago that still have class.

The experience at Joe's was absolutely fantastic. The manager was unbelievable, provided my wife and I a table after we were told it was full. Ben our waiter was amazing and personable. We didn't order anything high end. We got the calamari to start, fantastic! My wife got fish and chips. I ordered the burger. Joe's needs to advertise their burger. F'n awesome. Key lime pie for dessert. Perfect way to top off a great and wonderful experience. If you want to go to a steakhouse in Chicago go to Joe's.

First of all, the food was okay but nothing stood out as it should for the price. The staff were okay but very disrespectful and loud. I left a good tip but it was only because of the 2nd waiter that I had who was sort of nice… even though he made a drink while splashing liquor into my food. No pictures were taken due to my eagerness to leave! I’ve also felt sick since an hour after I left. I want to say they didn’t want me there at all. I’m easy to please and do not usually have experiences like this so in the future, I will take video of such instances and make sure they don’t act like that to anyone ever again. There are many other steakhouses that aren’t chain restaurants that I would strongly suggest searching out!

The food, the service and the atmosphere were all what we wanted, and more! The lamb chops were perfection, the vegetables were so good and the key lime pie finished off a very nice experience as we celebrated our anniversary. Our server, Russell, was very attentive and helpful. You’ll love it!

The porterhouse and spinach were very delicious, and the waiter was very keen to observe our needs and provide corresponding services in a timely manner, which was beyond my expectations.

I don’t eat seafood, but can speak about the high quality steaks and sides they serve. Service is world-class and the ambience is some of the most thoughtfully setups in each table I’ve seen outside of Michelin Star rated places, neither too dark nor too bright, it’s just perfect. Also highly recommend their key lime pie for dessert. It was, by far, the best of its kind I’ve ever had.

we had an anniversary dinner here and this place was utterly perfect for a celebration from start to finish. fancy enough that it felt special. chill enough that we were laughing our faces off with our server (ask for Denise, she’s wonderful). amazing food. literally the only bad thing about the night was that we booked tickets to see a show uptown and had to scoot before dessert.

Enjoyed the evening with family...valet parking available to avoid the parking hassle. Florida stone crab, Chilean seabass, lamb chops, shrimp appetizer recommended. kids menu can be better though.

Went here a week ago and ordered three steaks off their specials menu, almost $90 a steak. The steak was way over cooked, dry, and cold. You could expect a better steak from a local diner. The waiter kept going missing and didn’t give us forks or plates to eat our appetizers. Terrible and disappointing all around especially for its price. Not my first time here but definitely will be my last.

I searched online for a nice restaurant my wife and I 16th year anniversary. I surprised her with this place. She was not at all disappointed, our experience from the host to the waiters displayed a high standard of professionalism. Ben was our waiter whom gave us our space an periodically checked on us and engaged in some conversation. One of the managers came over to our table to congratulate us on our anniversary as on the reservation it asks are celebrating anything. I would say this is a top shelf establishment and will be going back soon! THANK YOU JOE'S FOR THE EXPERIENCE!

We had party of 7 went there to celebrate a graduation party. The waiter upon serving the butters for dipping had put his two fingers inside the plate (two fingers clapped to the small butter plate) was very disgusting. And he dropped one hot butter plate spilled the butter on to one of our guest which burned her hands. The steaks (not hot enough probably been seat for awhile before carrying out) and halibut fish both of which were over cooked with no juices at all. We still gave 20% after tax tip which the bill went over 1k. Not at all worth the price! (Lobster were pretty good though). Been in Joes in various cities and always was satisfied but I would not recommend this place.

We visit Joe's every time we come to Chicago. We had another wonderful experience from start to finish. Sadie was our fantastic server. She was friendly and knowledgable with a great personality. Our food and cocktails were perfect. We ordered the Dover Sole in brown butter sauce (delicious), shrimp cocktail, and a variety of other good items. We enjoy your establishment!

A great spot for quality seafood. The crab bisque is exceptional and I only regret getting the cup instead of the bowl. The grilled seafood platter was recommended by the server and did not disappoint. It was a huge amount of food, cooked perfectly with the right amount of char. The only negative is that our whole 10 person party had to be present to be seated which led to us waiting a long time for one person and which kept us from ordering several more drinks.

Probably one of the best steaks of my life. Went for a steak at the bar and the service as well as the food was pure joy. The 24Oz PrimeRib Bone-In enriched definitely my life and experience in chicago. Thank you Stats so much for the great evening!

Came here with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. From start to finish the service was outstanding. Walking in and being greeted by Jeff who made us feel welcomed and like family. To Fausto who was always around if we needed something answered. We ordered the soft shell crab as the appetizer. We also ordered the Expresso Martini and a gin and tonics for starters. Then we ordered a Bone in ribeye and a Porterhouse. Let me tell you these two were juicy and loaded with flavor. We also had the mashed potatoes and fried asparagus. For dessert we had strawberry rhubarb pie and it was also delicious. Will definitely be back because it was that good!

To put it simply, this place just absolutely rocked. To start, we were warmly greeted by our wonderful waitress Colleen, whose knowledge of the menu was superb. The food came out swiftly and oh my god was it fantastic. My favorite was the steak. I have never had steak that just melts in your mouth as much as it did here. And the finishing salt they give you is fantastic. I inquired about different sauces that went with the steak, and Colleen provided a great option that greatly enhanced the flavors. Everything else there was fantastic too. The halibut was prepared at our table which was really fun to see, and it was also fantastic. All around, this was a 10/10 experience and I hope to go back again soon.

Timeless atmosphere and meals quality

The best place in Chicago for a classic fine dining dinner. The food will be incredible and the service will be mistake free. Only the best employees work at this place. If you want to have a special date night with high quality seafood there is no better place in Chicago.

Usual overpriced ChiTown restaurant

Best or near best restaurant in Chicago. Chicago! One of the best and most eclectic dining cities in the world, with many of the top restaurants. Well Joe’s is right at the very top. Between the quality of their food, (I’ve had steak, fish, stone crab, chicken, bar food etc. and it’s all A grade, and the atmosphere is perfect. Not too noisy, private booths, nice tables with room. The NY strip and filet are both amazing, and don’t even get me started on the desserts. The best desserts in the city hands down, especially their pies. They really have everything and the service couldn’t be better. Every time I go there the experience is better. Big shot out to Michelle, our waitress for making our dinner so special! They really go above snd beyond the call of duty.
