Have the Blacked Grouper! Its a new menu item for them. Best I have ever had!!!

Stephanie was our waitress and WOW were we impressed. She went above and beyond with her service. We initially called with an allergy question, and thought we wouldn’t be able to eat there. They took the time to call us back to let us know that our needs would absolutely be met. So we went for an early dinner. All the food is made in house and came out quickly! Appetizers piping hot and entrees were delicious! If you are in the area this is a great place to swing into! It’s a fun environment for families! 1000/10!! Thanks for a great meal and experience!

Great food. Atmosphere can seem just a shade on the raucous side. Pirate-focused, but might be too much for little kids.

Our waiter was not the friendliest. She automatically assumed all 10 of us were on the same bill and put all of our orders on one ticket and when it came time to pay, she told us to figure it out among ourselves or split the payment up on 2 cards. We definitely had a issue with that considering it should of been 6 on one ticket and 4 on the other. She did end up splitting it for us after we had an issue. I've NEVER had a waiter not ask how the bill would be split especially with a large party. I believe she was pushing us to pay on one ticket because the tip was automatically included in our bills 22% of our total. The service was not worth $50 for an hrs of service from a rude waitress. The tea sucked it was not sweet, not one of us liked it. The chicken is very bland and has no flavor. Definitely will not be going back. Can get better food and service for the price elsewhere. Don't get the chicken or tea. So you mean to tell me 10 people didn't hear her not once but twice ask how the check would be split. She did not ask or when we told her we had an issue with it all being all on one check she would of said well I asked twice. She fixed it bc she knew she messed up. I highly doubt from the camera you can read lips but whatever to try to make your rude waitress look better but the service we paid for should of been better. And yes your free jello shots that you also offered to my 14yr old daughter. Next time you should be more careful and ID your customers. Your lucky she refused it or that could of been a charge. Hopefully you also saw that on your camera as well since you personally reviewed it but I doubt it 👀

Best burgers in town!!! Fantastic new outdoor seating. Bring your pup friend! UPDATE... they have fresh grouper sandwiches. Blackened, grilled, or fried. Comes with kettle chips but I got French fries. This is the Mack Daddy sandwich!! Come see Sonya running the place.

If you don't live or vacation in Tierra Verde, Jolly is well worth the drive from wherever you're at. They won best burger in Tampa Bay the last 2 years from Creative Loafing. It is most deserved win. All 4 of their burger varieties are delicious. Their new grouper sandwich is the best I ever had. The crew is awesome. You'll have a great time!

There was a hair in my salad and when I asked to have it fixed they took my chicken off the same plate with the hair, cut up that same piece and gave it back to me. When I asked for a new piece of chicken the server seemed bothered. Server was so unfriendly. Awful

This is a great spot but a little difficult to find due to a lack of signage. Food was really good. Portions are huge! The staff was very friendly and I would recommend it to anyone in the area.

Came here on a Sunday evening, and it was my second time here. My first time was similar experience and I didn't want to come but my friends said they liked the food, so I went with it. We were the only group there eating aside from a man at the bar, and a few people picking up food. It was about 8 of us and the food took time coming out. The waitress was ok, nothing extraordinary, or there lacking of. They try to put a pirate or nautical spin on the food, but it just makes things more confusing. They have a side called potato barrels or something, but it's just tater tots. The jack Daniels BBQ sauce sounds interesting but it's BBQ sauce. I ordered the chilli and the fries ribs which were described as 4 large ribs. When the food came out the chili was warm, but not hot. It had large chunks of tomato and beans, not much meat. Practically borderline canned chili with nothing special. The "large" fried ribs were a joke. It looked like they cut two large ribs in half and served it up. They have several burger awards towards the front of the store, which IMO were purchased off of temu. I have no clue how they won those because their burgers are all pretty pathetic looking. Sure, they come with two patties but they don't even ask how you want it cooked. They're all over done, dry, and sad looking patties with some basic toppings of lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, etc. again... Nothing special. My friends salad falls under the same category. The cheese was even regular old square cuts of cheese that were sliced. My friends wings were ordered hot buffalo and were more like a medium. They were barely covered in sauce and she had to request for buffalo sauce twice because they were overdone and dry. Safe to say that I won't ever be coming back here. The food is on par with a chuck e cheese and probably more for children.

First time at this place. I will definitely go back. What a great vibe. The tuna with sea weed salad was spectacular. The nachos with fried jalapeños on top were amazing.

I came for the first time today and it’s such a gem!! I met one of the managers/owners, Sonya, who was bartending and she is the kindest most personable southern woman. She’s passionate about the restaurant and it shows! I ordered the beyond burger and the pickle chips and both were phenomenal. 10/10 will be back! Sonya is the best!

Best burger on the island but worthy of a "best burger" trophy? Um no. Not even close. Small wings but the guys behind the bar are all great!

Good experience all around. Our waitress was great, it's nice to hear someone with a country twang again. Will definitely be back!

A pub at its best, the service is amazing, incredibly nice, attentive and with a lot of humor. The food is really good and the portions are incredibly large. A visit is a must.

In town from Chicago and stopped by for brunch. Great service from Patrick!! He recommended the breakfast burger and it was FANTASTIC, best breakfast burger I’ve ever had! Very cute restaurant with a fun theme and friendly service. Will be back next time I’m in town!

Closes at 11 pm and when we arrived the told me they are closed at 9:00 pm and very rude

Awesome place to stop for a bite to eat after a day at Fort Desoto! Burgers are fantastic-- try the Blue Beard and ask for some Swiss and blue cheese dressing for it it's delicious ! Service was great, Stephanie was awesome and the food came out fast as well. Spacious and spotless bathroom too

A cool vibe all around!!! The food (chefs kiss) was amazing. If you try anything get those deep fried ribs with the Thai Chili sauce, sweet baby Jesus they were perfection!!! I’m hooked! Fresh and delicious, burgers never frozen either, they take time and pride in their food and man it shows!!! We will be back! Also, I don’t leave many reviews either but I can’t stay silent on this one!

OMG This is a GREAT place to eat wow! After shelling over at Egmont Key, we were starving when we got done. A quick google search for best cheeseburger near me brought up Jolly's and I have never heard of it before. It's tough to see it from the road on your way out to DeSoto, which is probably why i never noticed it before. Well, I am super stoked that we DID find it and try it because the food was EXCELLENT. I had a blue beard - ask em to put swiss cheese on it for you and you won't be disappointed!! Outstanding! and Johns chicken was knock your socks off good too - great onion straw and homemade chips or fires or tot for sides your choice, and they are all great! Plus they make their own ranch and blue cheese dressing which are also delish too! There are not a lot of places for a hearty recharge you meal after a day out at DeSoto - but this one is a home run! give it a try after shelling or kayaking when you have built up your appetite - its awesome! PS cool atmosphere great staff (we had Stephanie she was wonderful!)... and also the restoom was immaculate too, which i really appreciated!

Our group of 4 dined at Jolly Roger on their hamburger special day (Thursday buy one , get one 50% off).Stephanie , our server, provided excellent attention , recommendations , & suggestions.Their cocktails were tasty & refreshing.Two of us got the burger specials and the smash burgers were amazing , another had the rack of ribs (👍) while the other ,grilled chicken sandwich (also good), the sides of onion tentacles(straws ) & French fries were tasty.

I've always had good food here. Sometime with music it is too loud...amplifiers should be turned down. I have actually left before due to the loudness of the music.

Great little spot on Tierra Verde for lunch or dinner. It’s a fun pirate themed restaurant. The food is fresh and tasty. They have a pretty diverse menu and a friendly staff.

Bartender really cared about the locals then the non-locals. and the gentlemen beside me would rudely interrupt each time my husband would try to get the bartender attention.

I wish I could give a higher rating! We found this place by accident on our way to the beach. I had the fried ribs in thia sause! Omg these where the most fantastic ribs I have ever had! So mouth watering. The make everything from scratch! The service was fantastic! I wish I lived here, I'd be here every week! You have to go!

Enjoyed going to Jolly Roger on a Wednesday evening without realizing it was Trivia Night. And wow, it was so loud!! Multiple times even the moderator asked people to stop talking so the group could hear the questions. So, of course, it made normal conversation almost impossible. With all that said, the food was great. We had a Blu Cheese Burger and the chicken with a wonderful Jack Daniel’s sauce. We had the onion crisps and the house made chips. All delicious. Even though the place was full, the waitresses were running and did a great job serving. I’d definitely go back for the food, but would check to see what was going on (trivia) before I went.

Our first visit to Jolly Roger's and it was really good. The hamburger was delish as well as the key lime pie. The decor is entertaining. Nice local place.

Not sure what has happened to Jolly Roger’s. I think the lady chef left or something is going on. The food use to be top notch, quality and very tasty. I’ve heard about the ribs but never got them until tonight. HORRIBLE. The JD Sauce tasted awful to be nice. The ribs did fall right off the bone but something wasn’t right with them. Maybe they sat in water all day since 6am or something. The onion straws were cold and almost doughy. Everyone has bad days, yet for $60 for 2 people to eat you want decent food. Jolly Roger’s failed to deliver that tonight. Even the couple sitting next to us, asked what we recommended and we said we have eaten the burgers, meatloaf, chicken and everything has been great. They ordered the burger with bacon and it looked cheap and not fresh. The bacon wasn’t that thick bacon we got a few months back. 2 tables in one night making faces back and forth. They said they were not impressed and would most likely not return. We kind of feel the same. The menu has changed and the food is $10 bar food at best. Bring back the old chef or this place will go under in 6 months.

The burger was excellent. Love that all the items on the menu have pirate themed names. The pirate themed decor was average. Servers were very friendly and accommodating, but we went at an off time so I'm not sure what it's like during peak dining.

Such a fun place! The bartender made the experience better! Always smiling and engaging with all customers. The server was awesome too

Update Jan 24. Love the live music. Deep fried ribs outstanding. Love having this on my island. Great bar food and excellent bar tender service.

Jolly Roger’s is a great restaurant in Tierra verde Florida! The atmosphere is pirate themed and the staff are warm and welcoming! The service is impressive and the food is great! The drinks are refreshing. There is something fun happening every day (I.e. games, music bingo, trivia, karaoke, and live music on the weekends!).

First time here, went on a Tuesday at 3pm and they were not busy at all. The atmosphere was nice, it was like a buffalo wild wings. A great place to watch a game, great food, kids menu, beer, liquor. I had the queso burger and it was great! Our server (Nicole) was friendly and took great care of us. Definitely recommend.

A fun place just off the beaten path. Humorous menu of superb selection. Really glad my friends suggested it. I'm a picky eater of buffalo chicken wings and these measure up as first class served with celery and blue cheese. Not to be ignored, try the Capt Mac's meat and cheesy buns. The service from Chris was terrific and we left feeling satisfied and full.

BEST HOMEMADE FOOD AROUND! I would give over five stars if I could. Patrick at the bar whips up the best drinks with awesome service. The food is noticeably homemade and great quality- with good prices. This is probably one of the best places I’ve been too.

Great location heading into Tierra Verde, Fort Desoto, the Marina’s. Good food at a reasonable price. Service is fast and friendly but be patient if they are busy. I would give the service 3 stars but it’s not the servicer’s fault it can get busy and could use extra help

Vibes of a cool neighbor hangout. The staff was extremely friendly. We sat at a high top, which the stools were a tad uncomfortable, but the atmosphere was fun! Food was typical bar food, but I hear the ribs are fall off the bone great. Wednesday’s are trivia night- starts at 6:30 pm. It's free and you can win Jolly Bucks.

I want to love this place but so far the food is blah! :-( For example to start the "CAP' N MAC'' SCHEESY PIRATEBALLS" are 5 very tiny hushpuppy sized, over fried macaroni bites. They need to check out the macaroni and cheese balls at the Cheesecake Factory to see what a good mac and cheese ball could be like.

Seems like a nice place but very few vegan options (they were out of beyond burgers). Odd that it's pirate theme yet they have zero seafood. No beer list either. Had to get up and walk to bar to see what they have. Cuban I had was very good though.

We ordered takeout so we didn't have the full dining experience. It's a fun pirate themed restaurant/bar. The bartender, Patrick, is fantastic. He gave us a sample of his sangria, which was delicious and authentic as he's lived in Spain. We took out burgers which were cooked as requested. Pretty darn good. Will definitely go again.

First time at Jolly Roger's Grub & Pub and my sister and I had a blast. We went for the musical Bingo. Bonus for me, I won a round so plan to come back on trivia night in the near future. We had the meatloaf and there was so much food, I had to bring half of it home for lunch the next day. Loved the glaze on the meatloaf.

Best tater tots ever! I had the Mushy Hotdog. Yummy! Daughter had Mac N Cheesy Burger. She enjoyed it. Josh the bartender was attentive and personable. I should but won't knock them a Star for having 10 beer taps, 8 of which are Budweiser products in a local craft beer rich area. Shame on you! Will come back, but drink good beers prior and after elsewhere.

Got a Caesar salad and a Bloody Mary and it was a religious experience. So so good you guys. We totally recommend coming here if you are on vacation or just in the area. Shoutout to Sandy.

OH MY yummiest MAC & CHEESE BUNS!! I wasn't exactly clear on what I ordered, but it was a highlighted on the menu. Food was quick and our appetizers were tasty. Chicken quesadilla was not a cheap knock off, but real chicken pieces with good cheese not whiz. Only issue was we were here during trivia night and it was a bit loud for comfortable table converstion. Worth the stop, check out the funny signs hanging from the ceiling.

Tried the nachos .......nice stack of tortilla chips, beef, tomato salsa, green onions, sour cream, and jalapeños.......

Yummy!! First I asked the waiter what I should get and she knew what was good and what was popular, always a good sign. I am vegetarian so I got the taco Tuesday brussel sprout tacos that were amazing!! The sauce was superb and the brussel sprouts had a nice crunch to them!! The price was great! The margarita was great! The waiter was super nice and attentive at the right time. We also ordered a side of fries and they were probably the best fries we have had in quite some time. We will definitely be back! Great experience and thank you very much as that is hard to come by any more:)
