There is no better food in Lake Charles. It's so unbelievably delicious. The staff is super friendly and kind.

Does this place even exist because I've been calling for 2 weeks and I drove to the address and nothing. It goes to voicemail but never returned calls nor answers

I ate there today. Sirloin tips rice and gravy, mustard greens, black eyed peas and cornbread. It was spectacular. Do yourself a favor and go eat the plate lunch. I was able to talk to the owner/chef April. I cant wait to try her entire menu. This lady can cook!

OH. MY. GOODNESS! 🤩😍🤩😍 Why can't I give this place 10 stars?! EVERYTHING is incredible. No matter what you choose, you can't go wrong. The oxtail, rice, and gravy was the creamiest and most succulent I've ever had. The yams were sweet and the cabbage was a little spicy but also top tier. Note that the actual address of the restaurant is 2502 Broad St and not the one listed. I am SO sorry Joub's is so far from where I live.

This place is amazing. Honestly some of the best food I've had. If you go there you will not be disappointed. Try the ox tails!

My first oxtails and they did NOT disappoint. Big smiles greeted us at the door and when we let them know we were visiting for the first time they were ready with recommendations and answers to all of our questions. Menu standouts were oxtails, cabbage, and yams. All from scratch by the in-house chef’s and SO SO good. Unassuming, super rich, and delicious.

Love the family atmosphere and the food is always excellent. Their seasoning is great as well.

We went in with a extremely large order first thing this morning. They were more than happy to oblige. The food was excellent. Thank yall for the great food and great service. The wait was no problem.

Whatever you have that’s valuable and precious to you,you tend to take special care of it.Well the special care and precious hands that create those Oxtails is the addictive pleasure you have been waiting for. I don’t know if they are even from this planet, but trust me when I say that you must try them. I only tell you this because I love you.

I have NEVER been disappointed in what I’ve eaten here! My favorite is the oxtails with rice and gravy. Sadly I did not take a picture that day. Today I was hanker’in a delicious hamburger and this bacon cheese burger hit the spot! Juicy and flavorful! Got a mini cake to share with the girls at work. Again - delicious!!!!!!

Oxtails, yams, and cabbage was great! Everyone was so nice and welcoming, I definitely will be back to visit again. <3

I ate here for the first time January 2022. My husband said the food was really good. I ordered lobster stuffed salmon with cabbage (an extra side of cabbage, which was 2.50 for a smidgen) and beans, cornbread came with it. The fish was ok, a bit dry though. Cabbage and and beans tasted like what I eat at home so it was nothing I've never had. That cornbread was really rich and buttery like cake. I didn't care for it. It was ok overall but I can eat the same thing at home and cook it how i like. Also got some of their red velvet and it was trash. I love red velvet cake but theirs had white, vanilla frosting and it's supposed to be cream cheese frosting. I didn't care for the excessive cake crumbs that was in the frosting, just a sloppy presentation. Maybe they frosted the cake warm, idk.

Our family stopped here for lunch on a road trip to Texas. The young lady at the register/phone was exceptionally kind and helpful!! She even took the time to share one of her favorite places in Austin that she thought my family would enjoy. Ok, so the food...this was LA soul food at it's finest. We had the shrimp po'boy, which was enormous and the shrimp were delicious. My kids split a cheeseburger, also graciously-sized. The shrimp and crab gumbo was (temp) hot as fire, and was great! My favorite was the fried fish and shrimp. The seasoning was perfect and it was fried just right (also large portion). Wish I had ordered a daily special, because they all looked awesome too. We will be back! Super service and food at very reasonable prices.

Wow we had the Opportunity to visit a black owned establishment where we encounter friendly staff very professional and needless to say the food was awesome the rice was cooked perfectly the bake chicken, yams, cabbage black-eyed peas and cornbread were all on point we will be back
