Terrific dinner tonight with locally sourced food cooked by culinary chefs. Hanger steak and lobster raviolis were great. Charcuterie duck pastrami and Cabot cheddar were terrific to start and the Black Forest cake for dessert was perfect. Leisurely with time between courses and you can watch your food being prepared.

The food was excellent, however, the interactive experience as stated on the website was nonexistent. We read reviews late and still decided to give it a try. If they change their marketing and don’t advertise an interactive experience, it won’t be disappointing to diners. It’s a shame because the food is good. Service was less than average.

fussy staff. Decently prepared, if uninspired, food. For minimum $50/head for dinner the overall fit and finish of the space, menu, and service is not up to its contemporaries at this price point. Nothing that can't be fixed, maybe I'll try again in the winter to see how they've come along. Good luck.

Wanted to try this place because the Essex resort and spa has a cook academy, so I was expecting it to be good. Well, hubby ordered the duck, which accdg to the waitress is their signature dish. For $40, there were 2 pieces of duck, and the fat was not rendered. I tried the end piece and I was chewing on the fat until I had to spit it out. I had the swordfish and it was too salty. Didn't finish it but took the rest home as it was $42. Had some desserts since we want to give them a chance. Got the espresso creme brulee, which was good. Also got the hazelnut chocolate crunch which was also good, but the bottom part was so hard so I just took it home. I would not recommend this place, there are other good restaurants around.

As soon as we walked in, we were pleasantly seated by the waitress (unfortunately I forgot her name) but she was extremely helpful with explaining everything in detail on the menu. As far as reviewing the food, EVERY plate me and my husband had was a burst of fresh flavours! I can’t even pick a favourite dish as it was ALL amazing! Definitely a 10/10 for us and will forsure be coming back!

Junction is the Pinnacle experience in the "culinary resort" known as Essex Junction. We have been many times now, and while pricey, the food is always excellent and the service is usually good. You will get items here that you will be hard-pressed to even find in other restaurants in surrounding Vermont. Their chef Nicole is top-notch and super friendly, and Patrick Cooks meat like nobody else. Sit at the chef's table if you can.

The food was decent but considering the price, we expected much better. The food was hardly the problem though. Our server was very rude, rigid, and completely unreceptive to feedback. When we asked a simple question about the menu, she refused to answer and said she’d be coming back to cover the entire menu in depth. She also admitted that she was talking about me with the bartender and assumed I wouldn’t like the drink she served. She was also unable to accept any negative feedback about the food. It was really weird actually how she kept trying to twist our negative feedback into positive feedback. She finally said, “I don’t understand what’s happening here,” and walked away. Overall, really poor experience. Would rather go to The Tavern next time; better food and better service.

While this restaurant may be great for some, this was just way too.."fancy" for me. Seeing the chefs cook in front of you was cool, as was the ceiling, but there were limited choices, at least for us, as we dont eat chicken liver pate, or duck, I got the steak filet with one slice, yes one slice, of a potato and 2 broccoli stems. It just wasnt what I was expecting. Small plate for large dollars.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Junction restaurant, located within the exquisite Essex resort, and I can confidently say that it was an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we were seated at the chef's table, we were treated to a culinary journey that left us in awe. Let's start with the food. The pickled peach burrata was an absolute revelation. The combination of creamy burrata cheese with the tangy and slightly sweet pickled peaches created a flavor profile that danced on the palate. The contrasting textures of the smooth cheese and the juicy peaches were a delightful surprise, and each bite was a burst of summery flavors. It was a unique and inventive dish that showcased the chef's creativity and expertise. In addition to the pickled peach burrata, the clam chowder and tomahawk steak were equally outstanding. The clam chowder boasted a rich and creamy consistency that was perfectly balanced with the freshness of the clams. It was a comforting and satisfying start to the meal. As for the tomahawk steak, it was a true masterpiece. Cooked to absolute perfection, the meat was succulent, tender, and full of flavor. The chef's skill in seasoning and grilling the steak was evident in every bite. Accompanied by a delectable sauce and served with precision, it was a carnivore's dream come true. However, it wasn't just the remarkable food that impressed us. The service at the Junction restaurant was second to none. The chef and the entire staff were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly passionate about their craft. From the moment we sat down until the last morsel was devoured, they went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. The chef's table experience was nothing short of mesmerizing. We had a front-row seat to witness the culinary artistry unfold right before our eyes. The chef's skillful techniques and creativity in preparing each dish were truly impressive. Their attention to detail and the seamless execution of every course left us in awe. The service staff, too, were outstanding. Attentive, friendly, and always ready with a smile, they made us feel like VIPs throughout the evening. They were well-versed in the menu, offered insightful recommendations, and ensured that our glasses were never empty. The ambiance of the restaurant was elegant and sophisticated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail in the decor and the overall ambiance added to the overall dining experience. Overall, the Junction restaurant at the Essex resort deserves every single one of its five stars. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were treated to an extraordinary culinary adventure. The pickled peach burrata, clam chowder, and tomahawk steak were outstanding, showcasing the chef's expertise and creativity. The exceptional service provided by the passionate staff completed the picture-perfect evening. If you're seeking an unforgettable dining experience that combines exquisite food, impeccable service, and a memorable ambiance, look no further than the Junction restaurant at the Essex resort. Trust me, it will exceed your expectations and leave you with a lasting impression.

When the staff returned they advised us that we had not been provided our main course because our appetizer dishes had not been cleared?!?! Were we supposed to clear our dishes? They then advised us that our main course was ready as they threw our steak on the grille? We were over an hour and a half into our dinner. Service was very poor and inattentive. Failed to listen and be attentive past our drinks/salad….. too many good options in VT to settle for poor service.

Beer list, wine, apps, and steak were all fine. But let’s talk about the scallops. As soon as they came to the table, I could smell how fishy they were. After letting waitress know, the chef came to the table and said they were from a different distributor and not up to her standards either. So instead of giving us a whopping $8 (20%) off the dish we barely ate, why serve them at all?! My advice is if you want to go here, spend the extra money and go into Burlington for an actual good meal.

Excellent food and quirky decor. Posh hotel located on beautiful grounds. There's a tavern next door that's supposed to have superior pub food; looking forward to trying it. In warmer months they have outside seating which I think would be lovely. Overall a tasty, fancy (pricey), place with interesting decor. There are places downtown church that I'd probably go to for upscale dining over this as it's out of the way for us but if you're staying or live in the area I think it's a treat worth trying.

We stayed at the Essex Resort & Spa for our anniversary weekend, and made dinner reservations at Junction as it was promoted to be an interactive restaurant. We had called and asked if it would be possible to move our reservation time up by a half hour, which they were unable to accommodate. We understood, but then were surprised when we arrived and there was only one other table of guests seated in the restaurant. I'm assuming they're suffering from staffing shortages, but it was a bit strange. Regardless, the menu had some nice choices, and we landed on the tomahawk for 2. The whole night we were anticipating the interactive aspect of this restaurant experience, but that never happened. It was just a typical dining experience, which they did a great job at, but it was just a small letdown when it was advertised as something different, especially considering this was our anniversary dinner and I wanted to make it special. Maybe it usually is more interactive, but because of COVID it's not? The kitchen was open and you could see the chefs cooking, but unfortunately we weren't seated close enough to really watch them. We were very happy with the food, hence the 4 stars, and I appreciated that there was a Yelp check-in offer available. It was a nice option to have staying at the Essex, but I think if they hadn't marketed it as something more than it was, I would've been happier with my experience.

Made reservations via the resy app for Friday dinner. Due to covid the tables were spread 6 feet apart and seemed like they accommodated less guests. We were able to sit earlier than our reservation which was nice. The two girls at check in asked us to sign our names and put down our contact info. After we were seated we were greeted by our server Pamela who was somewhat terse and not as friendly. It felt like we were being rushed to place our order, but when we did it took so long to receive our food. She did check up on us but for a 4 star restaurant I was expecting over the top service which she lacked. We shared the PEI oysters, prosciutto, cheese, apple and fennel salad as starters. The presentation was on point but I was expecting the food to taste amazing. The best dish of the night was the duck breast which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The seared halibut was a little over cooked and dry over a bed of lentils. We had some cinnamon ice cream and a custard which even the server joked as the perfect dessert when you’re full. It was an extremely tiny piece of ice cream next to a small piece of custard and some dots to decorate. The plating was beautiful but it was very underwhelming. I hoped for this restaurant to be the highlight of my trip to Vermont but I was completely let down.

Junction at The Essex never ceases to amaze me with what they bring to the table (pun intended). The presentation is only surpassed by the flavor, including various local cheeses and meats, in addition to countless other gourmet ingredients. As a value inclined diner, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that Junction is a bit on the pricier side, but totally worth it. From the day’s amuse bouche to their inspired dessert options, I can’t imagine ever being disappointed by anything here. Our first venture to a restaurant in the Covid era was to Junction. It came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Service, food and atmosphere were all excellent. Probably the best item all night was the foie de poulet starter. It was light and flavorful, and the grilled house bread made a wonderful base. The seared duck breast and the chicken Statler were also memorable. The cocktails (try the maple Manhattan!) were perfect. Service from Aleksa was perfect - efficient and friendly! And we were lucky enough to get kitchen-side tables, and enjoyed chatting with the chefs as well. We felt safe with the social distancing precautions, and will look for a good opportunity to return!

I have never seen such raw passion gone into my food! At the tip of a chef we had met earlier in the day we choose to sit at the chefs table for our Christmas dinner. We watched in awe of the passion and magic that went into every single dish, every single vegetable or ingredient placed on our plate. Truly an art form and was as beautiful to watch as going to see your favorite musician. The food: exactly as delicious as we hoped it could be. My bf tried the duck for the first time on the advice of the same chef. Who was as excited to make it and see his reaction as my bf was to eat it. He ate every bite. I had the filet mignon and when asking for it to be well done expected it to be a little tough. My knife however went through the meat like butter and every piece was full of flavor. It was a fun experience and an amazing dinner especially since we were celebrating Christmas away from home. We highly recommend sitting at the chefs table if you have the chance. Staff was phenomenal and we both thank the chefs for showing us a side of food we had no idea existed.

Food is always great here. Menu changes seasonally so don’t get too attached to any one entree. Go here about twice a month

We ate dinner here during a recent stay at Essex Inn. The service was superb and the food was delicious. One member of our party is a very discerning diner, and he was also impressed with the service and cuisine.
