This is a great Irish pub to visit. We had a few pints and lunch.

Kells craft beer is great. The stout and the red is sure to please. The food is somewhere between good and great, depending on what you order. Fish and chips on point. Pasties are good. The service leaves a lot to be desired, but being one of the only Irish pubs near Pike Place, they can afford to not be on their best game. Prepare to be ignored a bit.

This is a very nice Irish pub. The ambience truly makes the place. Our server was very good and our food was excellent. The shepherds pie was very good (I would have liked a slightly bigger portion) and my wife's meal was also good.

Very good food. Only issue I had was my fish needed a little salt. Overall very good. The beef short ribs super tender cut with a fork delicious.

Only wanted to stop in for one beer; was met with a short, unattentive server who seemed like he just wanted me in and out. Got the house lager which tasted watery and it was only after I left that I realized that I was overcharged. The place wasn't even worth going back to to complain, let alone go back for a drink again!

Friendly staff and very authentic feel. I'm from Kells in Ireland and we had a nice chat about that.

One of the more affordable meals in the Market. Great spot to watch soccer. Solid drinks, tasty sandwiches and grub all around, and a fun vibe, inside and out. Highly recommend the sausage roll.

Liam, our bartender was an absolute gem! Would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone wether you’re a local or a tourist!

We had a wonderful time having dinner and a pint! We were in Dublin, Ireland a few months ago. As we were eating our food and enjoying our surroundings, I realized that it felt like I was transported back to Dublin! So glad we have Kells here in our area!

Spent over one hundred dollars on drinks here with our group, but was charged $4 for a coke later in the evening which seemed a bit odd. Maybe that’s the new norm, but I’m used to a coke being comped if your party has purchased reasonable amounts of alcohol.

A hidden gem you must explore when you travel to Seattle in Summer. Nice beers, foods, and atmosphere. What else do you need?

This was my second visit to the bar and both the times the service was among the worst I have ever experienced. They did not even acknowledge my existence, it was hard to get their attention and whenever I got any, it was more or less rude/forced. With this second instance, I highly doubt that I would ever go back. Overall food and drinks were good though.

Great spot, service and food always good! This is also the home of the Seattle Red Army (an official Manchester United Supporters Club) so it’s also a great place to watch the reds play every week!

Excellent service, delicious food and pleasant music. Ask for Efraín, he is bilingual and responds 5/5 I went with my husband and my 1.5 year old son. The burger and ribs my favorites 💚

Need new tactics in customer service training but a place this old tends to flip off those in the know of good solid service Batter on fish on a scale of 1-10? 4 Not light Not airy Fish was fresh but batter (or oil) was heavier than all the other Seattle restaurants I’ve enjoyed fish ‘n chips in on this trip. Flippant responses to my disappointment I had to ask for service twice before being served. Sat for 5min not noticed. (Only two tables sat inside and maybe three outside) Defensive replies when I calmly stated my disappointment in the quality of batter Petty solutions over their quality control problems. I’m of the opinion that”hospitality from the heart” school of hospitality and “going above and beyond” regarding solutions to disappointed guests. I give the old school establishment an F

The summary of the experience at this establishment is bad food and worse service. The staff were unpleasant and even borderline in some points, and the food was inedible and disproportionately expensive. I give it 1 star because it cannot be less.

I had a very bad experience at this pub. The waitress was extremely impatient, making us feel unwelcome from the start. We had to wait a long time just to get a beer, and when we finally decided to leave, it took an eternity for her to bring us the bill. My parents felt even worse as she demonstrated impatience when we told her they don't speak English. Very disappointing service. I will never be back.

We came here on our day to Seattle because the pub resides in a unique building with local history. The Butterworth building was Seattle’s old mortuary. The pub itself no ghosts to be found but we had fantastic food and drink. Our server was top notch and fun. Best service we have had in our entire trip to Seattle. We enjoyed some Irish sports on TV, had some Guinness and Kells own brewed Pilsner. Walked out feeling great 👍

Over priced, decent atmosphere. But DO NOT ask to watch a Seattle baseball game because soccer was the only thing they would put on the 7 televisions they had on in the bigger room. Ridiculous

Nice pub but honestly the waitress we had (small blonde girl) was just rude and ruined the whole experience.

This is one of the pubbiest pubs I have been in. Cozy, a tad eclectic, and welcoming.

This place is a solid Irish bar experience. It's just off of Pike's Place Market, so if the crowds are driving you crazy, just drop in for a quick pint and a pasty and you'll be ready to continue your exploration of Seattle in no time! The food here is good and the Guiness is cold. What more could one ask for?

Stopped in for a quick pint and a shepherd’s pie at the bar. Bartender and other staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was great, and it was absolutely worth getting a Kell’s Stout instead of a Guinness. It’s a little cheaper and just as good to my taste buds.

Pretty good food, a great selection of Drinks, all within a minute or two from Pike's Market.

Overall a good experience. Food is a little inconsistent though. The short ribs were amazing (will be back for them) as was the Mac and cheese. The fish and chips and soda bread were forgettable though. Drinks and service were good.

Check what you pay for and get a receipt. Mexican barman told me Irish red was $10. I paid by card. No receipt. Card messaged me 11.92$. I went back to see him. Wrong attitude when I entered. I had pressed no tip. He checked payment and said he didn't know what had happened and we could sort it out. I said if you are that desperaté for $1.92 please keep it. I went on recommendation of a friend as I'm Irish and normally avoid such places. I will NOT be going back. Themention of the nationality of the server is you may have other nationalities working there. Thank you for saying it was my fault when all I touched was no tip....couldnt be anyone else fault but the customer eh?

Took a wrong turn down an alley. We were hungry for lunch, so stopped in. The pastys were great, particularly the Beef Curry. Plenty of house beers to choose from.

We arrived on Saturday at 9pm. The place was quite empty and the live music was melancholic. We didn't eat anything. Just one drink.

Pre cruise visit to the area. Stopped by Kells for dinner and drinks. Great location and a stone's throw away from hotel. Food, atmosphere, and service was great!

40 year old Irish pub in one of the oldest buildings in Seattle. They bake fresh soda bread daily - and it's some of the best I've ever had. They brew their own beers in Oregon. The crab cakes are mostly crab, which is surprisingly rare at restaurants these days. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is a fantastic spot for comfort food, especially on cold or rainy Seattle days.

Food was good. Portions could have been bigger.Nice atmosphere .Very busy service was delayed but they had a big party going on and delivered fairly fast considering.

Service was fine but we were there to eat during a high school field trip. They only gave us 1 server for about 20 people. So taking orders & getting food out was obviously very slow. Since we were on a schedule to get back on the school bus. Some kids didn’t receive their food till right as we needed to leave. Which left us scrambling for boxes. I just wish they would have gave our poor waitress someone to help her. Also we did have a reservations so it’s not like they weren’t expecting us or a large group. As for the food I ordered myself. I ordered a BLT with no mayonnaise and add cheddar cheese. My order came out with Mayo on it, but I didn’t complain. I just wiped it off and ate it anyway.. The bacon looked to be the kind you would put in the microwave to cook. Did not look like fresh bacon, and it was very thin on the menu it says thick bacon. Definitely wasn’t anything special but also not what I was expecting either. My daughter just had a cheeseburger and there were no complaints from her. Also, the fries were just regular frozen fries. Not fresh cut. Definitely needed salt or seasoning.

Was looking for a place to get dinner with my friends and their kids and randomly decided to try this place and we were so happy with our choice. Food was amazing. We ordered several different things and loved it all. Good beer and cider too. We’ve decided we have to go here whenever we are in Seattle now.

Perfect location. Great place and service.

We sat in the outside patio area which was nice on the super warm day we went. The ambiance was relaxing and we could hear the live music from next door at the tasting room. Our waitress was super attentive and really friendly. The food was fantastic! We had the baked Brie that came with soda bread and fruit. My husband had the flat-iron that was cooked perfect and I had the seafood pasta that was fresh and full of flavor. We each had a beer that was just as good as the food. We will definitely be back and would totally recommend the place for a laidback dining experience.

This is the worst pub I have ever been to. The bartender was in an extremely bad mood. He screamed, that's it!! The kitchen is closed! It was only 7 pm. We asked for drinks and he said go to bar and get it yourself. Do not go here, we are visiting from out of town, so here is a warning to other travelers. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Popped in for a drink after a trying day at the market. The drinks were delicious. The bartender VERY friendly. The overall atmosphere was great.

Service absolutely horrible the bouncer was about the nicest person in here. The bartender just absolutely rude let me try a beer then acted disgusted and irritated the person with me wanted to taste one. Hasn't checked on us the whole time we have been here asked for a menu had to get it myself.. sitting here with empty glasses and nothing would you like another would you like to pay... no nothing honestly about to walk out. The owners want you to remember what a great time is about, this location has five bars, plenty of seating, great authentic Irish food. The staff have been here for years and that is how you know a great location, by how long their employees stay.

We had a group gathering for a surprise 70th birthday party. We ordered sausage rolls, pasties, cheese & cracker trays and assorted hot foods (all were excellent). the owner came to help with the stage mic and the 2 bartenders, managers, Amanda and Elfin (sp?) were absolutely fabulous. Special Kudos to them for their calm, helpful, efficient and professional help. They really made the whole evening!! thank you

Started with an accident, dropped a drink, glass smashed and soaked the wife in a cocktail. Then main course of short ribs came and although tender were as cold as left from 2 hours before. Would not recommend.

Pints of Guinness were the only highlight of this visit. I asked for the Kells cider at first, I was served a larger or IPA of some sort in a wet glass with 0 head. The band were AWFUL! They butchered every ‘Irish’ song they played. Everything had the exact same tempo and the singer mumbled the lyrics and he mispronounces every location mentioned. They band should know how to play Irish songs accordingly if playing in an Irish bar. Very disappointing and honestly a little bit offensive

A very nice, old fashioned pub - nice beers and very friendly staff. Worth a visit if you want to spend some time in a pub with some history.

Went here for a dinner on a Sunday night with my wife, all the other restaurants closed around 5 but I'm glad they were, Food was phenomenal. Try the lamb stew. The bangers (sausage) was delicious, All the food was great 👍

First time here. I was with a large group and the service was great. Loved the fish and chips. Everyone's food was great! Beer was cold, and the place has a cool vibe. Definitely stop in and try thos.place.

Myself and my brother drive down from Everett once a month to come hear Oliver sing. Each time we have encountered horrible service . A few times we were never approached by any server, there for we never got to order food .Your loss! And please get rid of the hideous red stage lights . So tacky.

We had reservations at a nice seafood restaurant around the corner, but the service was so unfortunate that we ended up leaving and we're very grateful to have found Kells. We enjoyed a very nice salmon entree and they have a huge selection of Irish whiskeys along with their own brews. I enjoyed their cider a lot. The service was great and the vibe is similar to any good Irish pub. Thanks for salvaging our evening!

Service was mediocre. Drinks sat at the end of the bar for 5 minutes and the amount of potatos I got with my Bangers and Mash was pathetic. Sausage was good. Havent been since 2010, will try again in another decade.

Lovely spot in post alley. Their cider is extremely sweet if you like sweet. The corned beef pasty was just okay. The shepherds pie had gravy on it which I haven’t had before, I enjoyed it. Great service.

After visiting this business in several locations I can confirm that Pike Place is the worst so far. Previously Taking Guinness off the menu for decades is a huge mistake. Your in-house beer is gross and poorly brewed. Furthermore, the staff is very inexperienced and the management lacks authenticity.

Came here back in September 2023 during a weekend trip. We had just landed and they were one of the few restaurants still open. The seating was a bit confusing to me at first because we don't visit pubs often. You just sit anywhere and someone will eventually notice you. This might have been the best food experience we had in Seattle, or at least the most memorable. The interior was very loud so we sat outside and it was very pleasant. The benches and tables aren't exactly the most modern but it all tied together well in its charm. My favorite dish was the baked Brie. The bread was kind of cold but honestly, just put a bit of spread on the pastry directly and take a bite. That's really the best way to enjoy it in my opinion. I just had the bread with butter, which went well with the other dishes we ordered. Service was good. Occasionally we had to wait and try to wave someone down, but it wasn't a terrible inconvenience. They made sure we had all we needed before letting us enjoy our meal. It's a shame we don't live nearby. I'd love to come here often for late night hangs. There was a group sitting at a table at the edge of the seating area playing Dungeons and dragons too. Watch your step at one of the entrances though. I think there was a sign but we still tripped over it once or twice, if I remember correctly 😂

Out of all the amazing food options here in Seattle, Kells is one of our favorites! Great atmosphere, friendly people, the food is a top notch and during St. Patricks some of the cities firefighters add to the celebration with a Pipe and Drum band (Bagpipes)!!

They are nice and busy. The restroom was clean and bigger. :)

I rented the Kells event space for a party of about 60. It was everything and more! The staff, the service, the food, the atmosphere, the flexibility, the vibe…all incredible. I will do it again and you should too! It was PERFECT!

Unfortunately sat in Kells for 30 minutes. They said it was seat yourself. No one helped us, not a single person waited on us or greeted us. When I eventually asked if anyone was waiting the tables we were sitting at, they said "probably not". Sad, I liked the atmosphere and was excited to try the food. But we never got around to eating the food since no one ever greeted us or helped us.

Best place to relax and grab a drink after wandering through Pike's Marketplace. The food was incredible, the service was spot-on and it was just a warm and inviting place to hang for a couple of hours.

Crab cakes and corn beef pastry are excellent. Good selection of other Irish dishes.

Great bar, I have been going to their sister bar in San Francisco for 20yrs, this is the original. The bar is in a fantastic location, they have love music, great food and good Guinness. It's open late and the staff are amazing, if you are in Seattle or Pikes Place Market this place is a must visit.

Best food of our entire trip! Amazing sausage rolls, a wonderful warm fresh sliced turkey sandwich with a light flavorful homemade ranch in a lovely soft sourdough roll. Great clam chowder. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a great stop in the pikes place market area!

Some odd reason I thought an Irish pub would serve Irish beer. Shame on me for that assumption.

Watched Rugby World Cup and got complimentary Melktert..had great food and drink.

Overall just a meh place. The baked brie was alright but the chicken wings were soggy. The drinks were over priced, loaded with ice, and not very good. The atmosphere is chill, but that's about it. It was really expensive nearly 200 bucks for 6 drinks and 2 apps. Server was awesome.

Had a layover in Seattle and my friend took me here because it was open late. We had a good time.

Stopped by for a quick drink with some friends on a Halloween adventure. This pub had a slightly drab lack luster vibe for my taste. My friends and I found that the cocktails and beer were watered down- I mean who waters down beer? And they were out of the Irish Red beer by 10pm! For a Friday night there wasn’t very many people present, the music was some throwback hits from the early 2000’s which I enjoyed. To answer the question of the owner, the watered down beer was a Porter that my friends ordered who are very familiar with this dark and robust flavorful beer but unfortunately it was quite obvious that this beer was not what they expected.

Meh, but hella popular with tourists. Typical beer and stuff, gets packed the later it gets.

Only Irish thing about this Irish bar is the decor. Kitchen closes really early. Not worth going out of your way to visit.

Great little restaurant near market place in Seattle. Sitting down around the corner so you may not see it unless you’re actually looking for it. Great nightlife, great food great service. We sat at the bar. I had the fish and chips and their clam chowder is great.

1st time. A good local Irish pub when visiting downtown/Pike Market Place with good food and service. Enjoyed the Irish Chowder and Kells Hazy IPA. Soccer (football) on TV. Thank you Diego for your service. Look forward to enjoying the patio when warmer.

Ireland reigns supreme. Friendly atmosphere

It's been well over a year, but my girlfriend and I often still think (and talk) about that ONE specific mac and cheese we had that one night at Pike Place during our first trip to Seattle. The kind of stuff you dream of. We swore we would return someday. We returned to Seattle on Sunday, and it was just as good as we remembered, if not better the second time. I was astonished at the luxury before us. This just might be the World's Greatest Mac and Cheese. Bravo Kells.

We were looking for oysters and drinks. They had drinks, but no oysters. (Strange, but true). This was average in every way, but it was pleasant to sit outdoors.

Great place for NFL Sunday football as well as a great spot in downtown Seattle and Pike Place Market for private parties and events. We hosted a 30 person party there for a work event and it was fantastic. I think they have affordable options for private events, even free ones, as they can accommodate large groups even on walk ins
