We visited the Bainbridge Island location. We each had a focaccia roast beef sandwich, the bread was a little greasy. It was ok but not a place I would go back to.

The waitress was so incredibly rude and it just seems like her personally but it was very apparent that she did not want our business. The fish and chips was good but how can an Irish pub be out of stew.... was incredibly poor visit, I do not recommend going back until they fix their menu and get rid of the older blond waitress.

The server was incredibly rude and she tried to charge us more for alcohol that we didn’t even drink. She was super slow and didn’t even come by to ask us if we wanted anything else. How can we get charged for alcohol when she didn’t even come by to ask us if we wanted more drinks. Pathetic. Worst experience I’ve ever been in.

Always a great atmosphere, I often start trips into Seattle at the Owl and Thistle, I always end my visits killing time there waiting for the boat. The staff is amazing, the food is always on point, absolutely love this place, a true staple downtown

If you can't properly pour a half and half, you shouldn't call yourselves an Irish bar. The bartender who poured this either didn't use a spoon or poured too fast, or both. Honestly amazing how many Irish bars cannot do this correctly.

Hung out after the Metallica show at Lumen. Live music was great, line to get a beer was LONG but line buddies were cool people. To snag a table, go left. Pool table and lots more tables. Can hear the music just fine from there. Outdoor smoking patio. This is the kind of laid back pub I love. Really chill, fun place.

Arguably the best tartar sauce in existence. Split a 4 piece Fish n Chip and a cup of soup so we could try the soda bread. My Irish counterpart said while it wasn’t reminiscent of her family’s soda bread, it was delightful in its own right. Memories of this place almost 20 years ago and having a (now nonexistent) happy hour bite and beer before dashing to catch a ferry lend a bit of nostalgia to a place that also holds the longest running jazz jam session in Seattle. If you ever need a dose of good grub and you are near Post Alley, get to the Owl N’ Thistle!

As a visitor, don’t expect a warm welcome here. Clearly, our server Amy was happier chatting with a local in the hall than serving us. Her dismissive scowl left you in no doubt about what she would rather be doing. After 25 minutes, two sad drinks finally arrived: the beer a couple of inches from the top of the glass and a wine my partner described as ‘sour sparkling water’. This place describes itself as a Dublin-style pub; it wouldn’t last five minutes in Dublin. The only good thing was the music. We left after one drink.

Good food, basic inexpensive drinks, and about the worst service in Seattle. Wander in and hope the staff notices you eventually. Also outdoor dining but no service outside for no reason whatsoever. I had high hopes, but the owl and thistle was just a straight disappointment from the start to finish. Servers had a "I'll help ya when I feel like it." The atmosphere wasn't terrible it's what I would expect from such an old building. The food was forgettable. The Shepard's Pie wasn't good at all. The stew on the bottom was very loose and had little to no flavor and resembled cat food. The potatoes were under seasoned and took up most of the dish. In the right hands Shepard's Pie can be amazing. This was NOT that. I'll try this place one more time and I'll update this review if that visit changes anything. 20+ years as a chef and some would say I am hyper critical. I am truful in all my reviews. I had high hopes? Don't know, maybe an off night? I'll return one more time to see if anything changes. 🫤

I love this place....very small irish bar. The food is not fancy which is to my liking....but the fish and chips Fish were melt in my mouth and the beef stew was hot and great. The stage here for the band is tiny....about 4 people comfortable, 5 people a little more smoothed. Because it is a small more intimate entertainment space, it doesn't need to be ear blistering and it wasn't....thank you sound man! We came to hear an Irish themed band The Blarneytones) but the lead singer was sick. Next month the Scuppermonkies will be here!! Love that fun Irish themed band .

The service is odd here. It takes a little while to get menus or place an order but once you place an order the food comes out fairly quickly. It took them the same amount of time to bring the food as it did to bring our beer. Weird The food is not that great. We ordered fish and chips. The fish was soggy and the breading fell off. The fries were limp. However, the tartar sauce was the best thing on the plate. Our friend had the fish tacos. The fish was cold and onion from the pico de gallo was the predominant flavor. I can see why people enjoy the atmosphere and the vibe. If you weren’t eating and didn’t mind that it took a while to get a beer then you would enjoy this place.
