Paul, did an amazing job for a group of 23+. There were a number of specific requests I made (dietary restrictions included) and he exceeded all expectations. I can’t say enough about the service, attention to detail and his overall execution of the event. We will surely be back!

Top restaurant - easily one of the best in the city. The chef creates an eclectic, rotating menu, offering insanely good dishes with unique and perfectly balanced, often complex flavors. Anything from frog legs and corn bread (best in the land), to baby octopus with tomato jam, or even snail tacos (yes, incredible); all the way to a full Indian seven-course meal, and everything in-between (also some of the best house-made bread you'll ever have). Always excellent service with great people. Legendary restaurant. Will be very missed!

Eating here is more like being friends with a chef who spoils you in their home, versus dining in a restaurant. BYOB cements that feeling! Ken Loves does not lean on faux ambiance, but instead serves good food and raw passion. Places like this are few and far between. Tons of fun at a fair price

Ken Loves is a unique experience! A small gem in the heart of Northern Liberties, it’s a great neighborhood spot for date nights or group dinners. Chef Paulie’s delicious food showcases skill and technique without pretense. Not to mention that Chef Paulie is larger than life- eating at Ken Loves you not only get dinner but also a show, you have to go to see what I mean. He treats everyone like family, with a warmth that you feel even after you leave. I will definitely miss this amazing place. Thank you for everything, Chef!

My husband have eaten here many times. This is hands-down our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. The food is spectacular, the chef is friendly, and the restaurant feels small and homey. I could not recommend this place more.

Amazing service and even better food. We were a big party celebrating a birthday and the hospitality was beyond perfect. The chef is outgoing and very accommodating. Definitely have to try the frog legs if you haven’t. The cornbread is to die for. We basically ordered the entire menu & were not disappointed. Def will be back! Thanks so much for a great experience

Chef Paul is a master of flavor. Each of the 6 courses of the tasting menu was executed to perfection and a perfect balance of flavors. Everything is house made by Paul, including bread and pasta. Portions are generous but not outrageous. Exceptional taste and value. The tasting menu changes every 2 weeks!! Don't miss this great Philadelphia BYOB gem.

Tried KenLoves last night after I stumbled upon it online and couldn’t have been more impressed. The small size of the space adds to the fun as everyone has a view of the kitchen and music plays with a shuffle variety unlike any other restaurant I’ve been to before. The six course experience was outstanding, extremely well paced, and provided perfectly sized portions to avoid being both overly full and feeling unsatisfied. The chef, Paul, asked us several times how the dining experience was, and the personal element added to the ambiance. I cannot wait to return again to try another multi course experience!

We had our corporate dinner at this amazing restaurant and we had such a wonderful experience! The food was spectacular and chef Paul was a blast! He and Taryn were attentive and made the experience out of this world! One of the best meals I have ever had, Paulie the chef cooks great food and you can tell has a great time doing it. The steak in the caramel pepper sauce and the goat cheese mac were my favorites. My cousin said the mussels were the best he has ever had.

This is a very cool restaurant with great vibes. Our server was very friendly. The cook who was also the DJ had MF DOOM on in the background. Our pasta was tasty and the portion was pretty good, I got the veal bolognese and we also tried the frog legs w cornbread and it was all good.

Incredible service, food and vibes. I let the chef know of a gluten sensitivity in our party ahead of time and he accommodated to be sure they could enjoy GF pasta. Food was outta this world and portion sizes were generous for the price. Definitely going back and will be thinking about the onion bread and bronzino until I do!

Came for a late Saturday dinner. We had the frog legs, ragu fettuccini, vein steak, and the whole branzino. The staff (I believe they were the owners) were very friendly and open- was a very cozy and welcoming environment. The frog legs were very good, and the fettuccini and vein steak were out of this world.

Return visit. Great food, great service. Banking "Fish & Chips" was whole fish and got raves from my friend who had it. The steak was like none I have had before. Unique, comparison is meaningless. My other fried had it as well and agreed. I thought I was going to have to leave because my friends were contemplating lacking their plates, fortunately, they resisted.

Phenomenal food, can't-miss small rotational menu. Bring your finest wine and treat yourself to a gastrointestinal journey. We had the frog legs (INCREDIBLE cornbread), Crudo (so fresh, popping and sweet fish eggs), and the chicken liver mousse (you wouldn't know it was liver it was so decadent), followed by the fettuccine (yummy), whole branzino (flaky and perfect), and the blackened salmon (best salmon I've ever had). Phenomenal, creative and an innovative menu by Chef Paul, and attentive and loving service by Brittney makes this a for sure go-to place for a foodie dinner! His homemade bread is one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever eaten in my whole life. A twist on focaccia, it was so fresh and delicious, I could’ve eaten a whole loaf! I like to have appetizers so I had an amazing homemade pasta filled with delicious, delicate meat with a light and scrumptious sauce. Paul’s take on a chicken liver mousse was spread once again on his amazing homemade bread topped with a lovely combination of different pickled vegetables. My friend had a half roasted chicken that was by far absolutely THE most tender and savory chicken we have ever eaten! I always say when I go out to a restaurant that I will never order chicken because I could make it at home myself… But I don’t know anybody in the world that can make chicken like this at home! So order it when you dine here ! What a treat it was to eat here and have such an exceptional meal by these two young artists who love what they do. Their passion for food is evident in everything they do, and I recommend coming here highly! It’s rare to find the love, devotion, and community support that they share with so many. For sure give them a visit and tell them Debbie sent you! Bravo to Paul and Brittany!!! Keep up the outstanding work! We will see you in the spring when we can eat outside!

Holy smokes stacks ! This guy does what great chefs on television can’t ! He’s hands on ! Both in the kitchen and with the client. The food speaks volumes ! I honestly didn’t think it was going to taste good ! I was in shock at how good the main dishes were the blacken catfish. Outstanding the soup is on an entire other level on its own! I can’t wait to go back. I might go next week ! The staff are well educated on the cuisine and super friendly. The ambience is whatever is playing on the playlist you have been warned !

Second time experiencing this gem and the it exceeded expectations once again. A selection of outstanding small and large dishes and a great atmosphere to enjoy the meal while not being too uptight. And it’s also byob which makes it even better. The service is impeccable and down to earth. Chef is friendly and lightens the mood. I recommend getting one small plate per person, if you have a large party then maybe you can try one of each. No point in me recommending any one dish as I believe their menu does evolve and change with time. I enjoyed every dish we had. The large plates were generous in portion. Make sure to make reservations to secure your seat. The house bread is always impeccable.

By far, one of the best restaurants in Philly! My partner and I have been here twice and love it. - Food: top notch fresh rotating menu, feels like a fine dining exp without all the fluff - Service: Brittany and Paul (the owners) are phenomenal and really do their best to make guests feel welcome. No wonder why they have so many regulars! Random side note: their butter is SO good. Place reminds me of San Francisco restaurants, feels like home (high quality and not pretentious).

This is my first time here but it won't be my last time! We had an excellent dinner the service was great the food was excellent and it was BYOB! You got to meet the only Ken he's an amazing guy! Very funny and personable he sat down with us and we had a great time talking to him and his wife! If you're looking for a upscale dining experience you you should treat yourself to a night out at KenLOVE"S. Don't forget to order the frog legs they were life-changingly superb!

The food here was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere just made our night!! It felt like we were hanging out at a friends house while they made us dinner. The chef played his favorite music, danced and sang while making your dinner in the open kitchen. We had the frog legs, watermelon salad, muscles and salmon. Where do I begin... this place is hands down one of the greatest spots in the city. This hidden gem has some of the best food this city has to offer. The menu is one of a kind and always something new added to it. The food is as fresh as it gets and the flavors... it’s something I can’t explain. It’s something you must see and try for yourself. Your taste buds will be going wild with all the amazing flavors. The chef and staff are incredible and extremely friendly. We started coming her before it was kenloves , it went by a different name. But when the chef took over and made this place his own he really brought out some of the most incredible dishes I have ever had. I highly recommend this place and I look forward to my next meal here. Keep up the incredible work!

Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We were not expecting to have this much fun dining at Ken Loves BYOB. We walked in without reservation on a Saturday night around 7pm. RIght away, we could tell they are BUSY. There were only 2 chefs and 1 server for 10 tables, but we got lucky and got seated within 10 mins. Menu was hand written on the wall (it seems like the menu changes quite often, so make sure you check their website prior of visit) There are some interesting appetizers and entree, like frog legs, escargot, and soft shell crab; however, we went with the following dishes |Octopus $18 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐| Grape Tomatoes were nicely roasted, along with the cripsy fingerling potatoes. Octopus itself had nice smoky flavor. The slighty sweet jam/sauce create a nice balance with the pickles. |Pappardelle $27⭐⭐⭐⭐| Creamy and filling. Veal boloenese is rich but not so much that you get bored after the third bite. You can taste the milky aged flavor of Grana Padano cheese that melted on top of the pappardelle. |Hanger Steak $33⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐| I was curious with the asian approach so I had to give it a try. Steak came out perfect at medium rare (what i wanted). Shitaki mushroom was soft and juicy. The whole baby bok choy brings some lightness to the plate as the unagi sauce can be too savory by itself. I highly recommend making a reservation for indoor dining to enjoy the full experience. The music was just as amazing as the food. Both front and back of house seem to be enjoying their work. On top of that, Chef came out to talk to us after service which we really appreciate. Thank you KenLoves, We will come back again :)

Absolutely amazing food and environment. The chef Paul and his partner Brittany are so fun and personable, and the food was STELLAR. The frog legs were seasoned with the tastiest cajun seasoning and their steak Diane was the best I have ever had. And it's BYO so even though the food prices seem a little steep (and once I tasted the quality ingredients I definitely thought they were priced fairly) our check was totally reasonable! And don't forget dessert!! Will be 100% be back and bringing friends!

Ken Loves is a phenomenal byo in northern liberties. The menu is constantly changing, always fresh and inventive. Pierogi’s, mussels, frog legs and the house made bread are some recurring favourites that we always order. The ambiance is incredible, it’s a true family run restaurant and you can feel it. This specific review is for a recent private event that we booked with kenloves for a 30th birthday. I can’t stress enough that it was the absolute best experience. Chef Paul and Brittany made the night unforgettable and worked with me to create a custom menu to please everyone and made my every request happen - Brittany even decorated the place ahead of time for me! Wonderful people, amazing food, don’t walk - run to Kenloves.
