Such a bad experience the barista was rude the server told us to get out of the way instead of saying excuse me bad looks by the workers. We got 5 drinks and 3 of them were the wrong drinks we told them about the mistakes and they didn’t offer to change them they just looked at us like pretty much saying just deal with it. Never going back again.

Kitch-en is one very special little spot. Holly, the chef, works masterfully with simple fresh ingredients to bring out their magic. She has a sense of nuance, balance and acidity in the way that Michelin chefs do. She also knows her way around a pancake and a quiche. Front of house Dean, June, Sunny and Sophia radiate kindness and warmth and are quick to meet every need or whim within their capabilities. Locals are greeted as friends and made to feel like they’re in an extension of Holly and Dean’s home. The spot is small and cozy so they can’t seat parties more than 5, but if you’re looking for a good meal with a small group of friends or a breakfast or lunch date with your boo you absolutely need to try. I also want to add how inclusive and lovely these folks are, they have regulars of every gender, race and sexuality. As a queer nonbinary community organizer I wouldn’t go there 2x a week if they alienated or ostracized any marginalized community.

Unacceptable welcome for our family going to have brunch. We understand the sign that the place doesn't accommodate above 6 but we request to be split on 2 table and we were still treated with disrespect. The staff did not care whatsoever. We came to this place based on a recommendation from another restaurant owner. What a shame...

Clean, organic and tasty food. Everything is locally sourced and boy they don't disappoint. I got sunny side up eggs with bright orange yolks with a side of organic chicken sausage and fruit. The chicken sausage was tender, juicy and flavorful. I also ordered steel cut oats with some brown sugar, raisens and walnuts. That was also a delight and tasted very homely. The coffee is also organic and I got mined iced with oat milk on the side. It was flavorful and refreshing. Our waitress was prompt and courteous and the overall vibe is great. What you get for the price which is clean, organic and tasty food is amazing. I can see why this place is a popular spot for breakfast. Definitely stop by if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed.

Amazing. We stopped here on the way home from a wedding at Magnolia Streamside, a beautiful venue nearby. How glad I am that we had breakfast at Kitch-en! The French toast is so delicious that we took a second order home with us to share with family. Don’t let the somewhat run down strip mall surroundings dissuade you from going in to Kitch-en and enjoying a delicious, locally sourced, cooked-from-scratch meal served in a small adorable restaurant with warm friendly attentive service. Wishing there were one of these near me!

Delicious!!! First time there and won't be the last! I had the special and I was more then pleased (sad that it's not an every day meal). My friend got the chicken sandwich and so good. The service was amazing! Tentative and gave us a good discrimination of what we would be eating as too where their meat is from and how everything is FRESH!! You could tell. Also many props as I didn't care so much for the tea and barley drank it.. the server seen this and said she never charged us for it because of that. I didn't say a word. So amazing!! Again, will definitely be going back.

What a shame. I've referred many friends to Kitch-en only to find out recently from a friend that when a situation arises they can't keep their politics to themselves, let alone control their uninformed customers that have no decency or self control over what comes out of their mouths. Common sense is anything but common so I'll make this as clear as possible for the owners... You're in hospitality, and It's bad business and absolute stupidity making a conscious decision to alienate half of your customers. Fix this problem before the problem fixes you!

I hardly ever leave reviews of restaurants. I'm from Brooklyn, so used to really great food, and always worry when I leave the city that it will be hard to find good food. This place really delivered. It was one of the best burgers I've had in a while, even in NYC. The iced matcha latte was perfect too and my daughter loved grilled cheese! My family was turned away and refused service due to our “large party” of 6 adults and 2 children. Even after our party offered to split up they stated that they would not serve us because “if a party of 2 walked in I would not be able to accommodate them.” The woman behind the counter was very rude and disrespectful towards us and stated that she wouldn’t take parties over 5. All in all a very disappointing experience.

I’m still leaving a 4-star review because I work in management and the hospitality industry and had very good experiences with the food and service prior to walking in today. After working a very late shift and getting a late start.. I tried calling to place a to-go order around 1pm, no answer. No problem, I assume they’re busy on a Sunday. I decide to go down in person and immediately get a strange, dismissive look from who I assume to be a waitress and when I try to place an order she just says, “sorry we’re done for the day.” This is fifteen minutes prior to closing. I try to explain I tried calling and just wanted a slice of cake and a side of the street corn pasta salad. She hesitates and lets me pick out a cake and I paid for it. I would of tipped and been thankful if she at all made any effort to give good customer service. I noticed the owner standing at the counter as well, because he has served me before. I was surprised when he didn’t try to step in and help with the situation. I can have compassion that they’re trying to end their day, but I wanted 2 simple to-go items and there were still customers dining inside. Please do better, a little kindness and appreciation goes a long way. I’m sad i’ll have reservations about returning to one of my favorite lunch spots.

We wanted to find a good breakfast spot on our way out to Moyer Aviation where we did a flyover of the Delaware Water Gap. There were a few spots on the way but many of them didn't distinguish themselves. Many were run-of-the-mill family-oriented diners that called themselves "pancake houses" or something similar. Kitch-en was the only one that stuck out as something interesting, so we took a flyer on it given the good reviews. From the outside, you'd never realize how good of a place it is. The strip mall in which it's located is pretty nondescript and the restaurant's sign is very plain. We walked in and were immediately seated by the very nice host, and after seeing the menu, had a lot of trouble figuring out what we wanted to order since it all sounded pretty good. He came to get our drink orders. I couldn't decide what I wanted, but my fiancée ordered chocolate milk, which he said was made with the chef's housemade chocolate syrup. Sold! Two chocolate milks. It was seriously the most delicious chocolate milk I'd ever tasted. Not overly syrupy in taste or texture, there was just the flavor of delicious chocolate. After tasting this, we were already excited to try our food. I ordered the breakfast burger after the host recommended it. I was torn between the biscuits and gravy and the burger, but ultimately went with the burger since it seemed like a more unique item that I wouldn't be able to find elsewhere. My girlfriend ordered the special pancakes, which were buttermilk chocolate chip pancakes with a housemade peanut-butter-caramel maple syrup. The food hits the table and we're stunned by how good it looks. I'll start with the burger. The first thing I remember about the burger is the amazing patty, a mix of ground beef and housemade pork sausage. I've had plenty of "breakfast burgers" before, which are typically just regular cheeseburgers with bacon and egg, and of course those are good. But this is the one and only time I've ever had a breakfast burger that tasted like, well, breakfast! The other flavor that really stuck out was the housemade maple-bacon marmalade - are you seeing a pattern here? Everything from scratch, housemade, prepared with care and skill. No shortcuts, no fillers, just fresh flavor in spades. The gouda cheese, over easy egg, and crispy hash browns added more substance and flavor to the mix. Possibly the single best burger I have ever eaten, and that is VERY high praise. My fiancée's pancakes were nothing short of exceptional. The pancakes themselves are among the best either of us have ever had - light, fluffy, but still flavorful and not at all dry. The peanut-butter-caramel maple syrup was insanely delicious and had a flavor reminiscent of Amish peanut butter schmier. The portion was gigantic so I "helped" my fiancée finish the plate without any protest from me. I could've eaten a second plate, they were that good. We decided to take some snacks for the road. Some lemon pound cake and cookies made for a good snack for the road and for late nights at our room in the B&B. So so good. When the bill hit the table, we were FLOORED. Understand, we come from Long Island, and prices in New York are often inflated due to a variety of different factors. Here, the prices are surprisingly low for the quality of the food you get. Even a greasy spoon diner breakfast costs more on Long Island. I guess it's really a different world over there in the Poconos! Stunningly good restaurant and one of the best meals I've ever had. I have to admit that this is one I daydream about very often.

My sisters and I went for breakfast. The food was superb, the atmosphere was quaint and homey, our server was fantastic and the other guests talked with us as if they knew us and readily gave us their recommendation for some of their favorites. We met Holly, Kich-en's gourmet chef and baker who was also warm, friendly and humble about her tasty cuisine. We ate breakfast and left with some takeout for lunch. We enjoyed the baked french toast, strawberry rubharb pancakes, sweet potato & kale hash, biscuits & gravy, bacon, ham, & fresh juices. We left w/ grilled cheese, curry chicken salad, quiche, the best french-fries ever, hummingbird cake, lemon pound buttermilk cake, & brown butter toffee chocolate chip cookies which didn't make it out the door. We highly recommend anyone visiting the area to stop in and dine superbly at Kitch-en where everything is made from scratch with local and organic ingredients. Kitch-en is a hidden gem located in a strip mall.

I've been coming to Kitch-en for 5 years. This place is without a doubt the BEST place in the Pocono area . The chef is AMAZING and the "old guy" LOL may have a grumpy face from time to time but is one of the nicest people I know.Let me make something clear, I was at kitch-en when that party of 8 came in and even though there was a BIG sign outside stating no parties over 5 they kept making excuses and scenerios after the old guy" told them a number of times he couldn't accomodate their party. STOP throwing out the race card when you know it had nothing to do about race. When people who think they're entitled don't get their way it becomes about race. The place is small and they do run out of things and this ensures anything you do order is fresh. NEVER had a bad meal there. Come with smaller parties and if you have bigger then 5 go somewhere else.

Walking up to the kitch-en, I wanted to turn right back around, the surrounding location looks pretty neglected (atmosphere is just as important to me as food)… BUT walking out of the kitch-en, I was only wishing it was closer to home. Who would have thunk! — the interior is super cute and in complete contrast to the the exterior. Top! BUT maybe I should also mention their food: it’s freaking amazing!! And “homemade” to the point where they actually make ingredients to their meals in house!! The service rocked and the food was simply perfect. We loved it: Smashed Avocado Toast Breakfast Burger (and we took a soup, quiche, & muffin to go for later) * TIMING : we were lucky to be there before the crowd. This place is a hidden treasure and justifiably popular! * SEATING : since it is a small eatery, the largest table seats maximum 4 guests. I believe it was a total of 7 tables. * OWNERS : it really showed how much they cared about the details from A-Z. And as a small business owner myself I know how uncomfortable it feels to turn away customers. They did their absolute best to seat all the small groups that were waiting.
