Like many have said this is a Diamond in the rough. It doesn't stand out from the other stores and restaurants from the outside....but that's what is so special about it. The food is all made from scratch and AMAZING. The menu changes regularly due to availability of the fresh ingredients. We had escargot, salmon and the burger plus two signature drinks. The total was about $120. This is not a quick eat, it's a set down and savor kind of place.

We've been to La Chasse a few times before this visit and always had a good experience. This one was an exception. Service was fine, the drinks and app were as good as normal, but the entrees my partner and I got were both way lower quality than we were used to. My partner got the Steak au Poivre. The steak itself wasn't cooked particularly well. While it appeared to be cooked medium rare, it was still a little tough. The bearnaise sauce was overly sweet and drowned out any seasoning on the steak that may have been there. The pommes frites were good, but not anything special. I got the lobster risotto which came out looking like it had set under a heat lamp for several minutes (not sure why they even have heat lamps at a restaurant like this). I'm not sure what spice they used for the heat on the dish but it overwhelmed everything and that was all you could taste. Despite there being a large amount of lobster in the dish, you couldn't taste any of it. And to top it all off, the lobster was way overcooked and was tough and rubbery. Each entrée was $50 a piece and I would have been hard pressed to pay $50 for the pair. I hope this was a one off experience, but if we do decide to go back to La Chasse it won't be for awhile.

This is a one in a million spot to eat. I have never enjoyed a meal more than the one the family and I made our way through tonight. Specials board had us on some burrata salad and scallops that set the tone for the whole night. Incredible at every bite. I kept pinching myself to see if it was real. Mains were lobster risotto and the strip steak though I was tempted by the amazing Ratatouille that went by. Drinks were incredible, all cocktails were perfect and they had some amazing beers from my favorite breweries. Dessert was what did me in, a chocolate pistachio torte and a chocolate meringue pie that had me put down my fork at the end and vow to never eat another thing for the rest of my life. Everything was incredible. Do yourself a favor and bring your date down here and really impress them. I will be back every time I visit Louisville and the city should be proud that such an experience is possible in their best neighborhood. 11 out of 10.

Wow! The food, the service, the atmosphere are superb! A couple bottles of wine, Brie and Foie Gras for appetizers, Orange Roughy, Lobster Risotto and Ratatouille for entrees, then topped it off with puff pastry flan for dessert! Blake was awesome! She topped off our wine at the perfect time, we wanted for nothing and her personality made the evening even better! We couldn't have had a better anniversary dinner! Thank you to all the staff that helped tonight. It was an awesome experience.

My wife and I were looking for a nice place to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary and this place was amazing. The staff was very friendly, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was great with a candle lit and the table set ready for us. We told the staff it was our wedding anniversary and they brought us a small glass of champagne to toast with and gave us a dessert for free as well. I would definitely recommend and would love to go back myself.

This place has become one of my favorite restaurants in Louisville! Drinks were great, loved the bread and mussels! The salmon was fantastic! 5/5 starts! Definitely coming back!

Another excellent experience at La Chasse. The French Onion soup and the Grilled Brie are excellent. The Brie changes with the menu. The bread is always amazing and fresh. Our server Cathrine was excellent and knowledgeable on all dishes and drinks. Will definitely be back for another visit.

We made a last minute dinner reservation last night and had a great experience. Service was casual and kind. I love fine dining when it’s not too stuffy and the staff get to be themselves. The cocktail list was difficult to read because everything looked either good or interesting. I went with the Smith & Wesson and it was definitely on the interesting side. I probably wouldn’t order it again but I’m glad I tried it and there are a handful of other cocktails I’m interested in trying another time. We got escargot as an appetizer and it was decadent. The French onion soup is also hands down the best in town. Anywhere I go I have to try their beet salad and this one had some wonderful earthy flavors. The steak was cooked to perfection with an amazing sauce and it paired well with their Bordeaux pour by the glass. With the two of us dining the bill came out to $205 which is pretty reasonable. I will be back to try the maple old fashioned and the PEI mussels.

The problem was the BAR section and Loud Drunks just sitting drinking WINE at a big table. Cackling loudly every 5 secs I mean what the hell. MANAGER-tell them to quiet down!!! This ruins the atmosphere. Also, french onion soup was served at 350 DEG, way too hot from oven.

The food was way overpriced, poorly prepared, and the wine of poor quality. I do not recommend this restaurant.

We recently moved back to Louisville after 11 years away. One of the things I really missed was the vibrant local food scene. We have had the pleasure of dining at La Chasse twice in the last couple of months, and both times it was an excellent experience. The food is delicious, the service is great, and the atmosphere is cozy. We will definitely be returning soon.

Many friends had told me how wonderful the restaurant was from the atmosphere to the food presented and especially the service.

Catherine was wonderful and so was the food. This was such a comfortable yet elevated dining experience. We were visiting Louisville for the first time and this has definitely given us such a great impression of the food scene here. Amazing menu, wide selection of bourbon, great recommendations, thoroughly enjoyable.

Everything is great from the fork to the plate. The bartenders rule like the old school, well versed in conversation and looks that swoon. All the servers are fresh, smart and delightful. They move in patterns like birds dancing. Fancy flavors that topple the taste buds , flow from the kitchen One before the next, while the cocktails and wine list will have you perplexed as to wear and how you would go anywhere next time

We had a very nice valentine's day date. Everything was delicious and the staff was friendly and attentive. Would eat here again

Our first visit. Really a gem. Great service by Madison. Very good food. I’d go all fives but i’ve been to better restaurants in other cities.

Atmosphere was good! Our server was very pleasant and very helpful.. nonissues with the service at all! Menu is not very extensive, however, our entrees were outstanding! The salads as well! Especially the Beet crunch salad was amazing!!

If I were eating the mussels by myself, I would have eaten it like a soup. And I wouldn't share. My lobster grilled cheese and tomato soup cured all ailments ( and satisfied every culinary desire). Rich, savory, and beautifully served, my meal gets The Phood Phenom seal of approval.

Laguna Salmon entree, recommended by our server, was delicious. Trout special was okay, but grilled potatoes not quite cooked through. NY Strip was a bit gristly. Service was very good and we enjoyed our cocktails (Maple Old-Fashioned, and a Sangria special). Noise level a bit louder than we like, but we were able to converse. Overall, we hoped for a higher-level of food quality and presentation, given the price point.

Our first time so we didn’t know what to expect. Small menu that covered all bases + daily specials.Mussels were incredible. Entrees were even better. Service was personal and very helpful. We are definitely going back.

We are regular customers. Once a week dining. Our recent visit was very disappointing. Because we were a party of 2, we were placed in the back of the restaurant by the kitchen where it was dark. We felt totally ignored the entire evening. Unlike other experiences at La Chasse, we had to ask multiple times about the arrival of our food. Took an exceptionally long time. When the check arrived, because we had been placed in a dark corner, it was very difficult to read. For an expensive meal the service, and attention to patrons was extremely disappointing.

La chasse did not disappoint! Started with great drinks, we got the burger and the salmon. That was one of the best burgers I’ve had. The salmon had a ton of flavors all over the plate, truly amazing. Catherine knew the menu inside and out and had great recommendations. Chef Alex has absolutely done a terrific job with the menu, we will be back very soon!

The food was great. Our dessert was the best we’ve had in ages. Service was lovely and ambiance was great, too. Would definitely return & 10/10 recommend for a cozy date night.

The spiced sangria cocktail was delicious. I enjoyed my Brussel sprout salad and cheese burger. Very tasty. The atmosphere was cozy and friendly.

10/10! One of my favorite restaurants in Louisville, this place can always be counted on for a delicious meal. This meal was something exceptional though, even for them. If you can catch the opportunity to try one of Chef Alex’s specials, make sure you take advantage.

Delicious food. Escargot was excellent. Bread and butter, amazing, Brussel sprouts and beet salads, delicious. I could go on. Everything was fantastic.

I invited friends to join me for dinner at La Chasse on New Years Eve. I was a little nervous about it as it was my first experience at the restaurant. Happily we were delighted with all aspects of the evening. The setting was elegant and festive, the host and wait staff were professional, available and low key, and the meal was perfectly presented and delicious. I will be returning soon to try other menu items. I much appreciate the abundance of fresh vegetable dishes on the menu, which is friendly. Well done La Chasse.

I had multiple dinners at La Chasse and always enjoyed them. 5 stars overall except for the noise level, it can be very noisy if the restaurant is full.

We showed up 10 min before opening not aware that they opened at 5. The gentleman who greeted us was gracious enough to seat us immediately and asked if we minded waiting a few minutes for service since. No Worries here! The food was outstanding from start to finish. The comp bread and compound butter amazing! The baked Brie app amazing! My girl had the Salmon and I had the strip. Both entrees were perfect! Great wine and bourbon selections as well. I apologize for not remembering our servers name but she did an outstanding job as well. This was our first visit to Louisville and we will definitely be back in part to this experience!

We had a large party for a holiday gathering. Everything was perfect-couldn’t have been better. The food was delicious and service was outstanding!

Salmon described as being accompanied by risotto should include more than 1 tablespoon risotto. Same issue 8 week ago. Not giving it a 3rd try anytime soon. Beet salad should include more than 5 morsels of beets. We frequently dine out at nice restaurants and La Chasse is not up to par for the price point. That being said, the service and cocktails were good.

The food was mediocre for the price. It’s a typical old-fashioned restaurant that fits into that part of old Bardstown Road. For the price, we were expecting more class. The table was too small for 5 people. We were there to relax and celebrate and my husband’s birthday. We ordered some appetizers and food for the table to share in addition to entrees. We are thin people, but since it was our first time at La Chaase, we wanted to sample several items. We felt extremely rushed and hurried. Our food was taken away before we finished it. I asked the waitress if we could slow down a bit and she said, “Our entrees were almost ready” as if to say there would be no room to put anything else on your table or I guess we ordered too much food. My expectations were too high. We won’t return to La Chaase.

Saturday night reservation for 6 while we had some family in town. Super lively and busy atmosphere. Our server was wonderful (attentive but not overbearing). Bourbon Brie and lobster fritter appetizer specials were great. The 14oz Ribeye special with asparagus and potatoes and red wine glaze was unforgettable. Everyone at the table loved their entrees which included the salmon, chicken, and cauliflower. We also got creme brûlée and chocolate mousse for a dessert. Only slight issue we had was having the table directly in front of the lone entrance door which had a large group of people standing over top of us for about 15 minutes while waiting for their table. Overall, La Chasse has crept into my top 3 to 4 restaurants in Louisville without a doubt!

Mussels, salmon toast, steak and cocktails all very good. Outstanding service. The menu is rotating so if there’s something specific you’re looking shown here, for they recommend checking instagram. We missed out on the rabbit this time. We came in from a sports competition and we were underdressed. Finished with peppermint chocolate mousse. Would recommend for a special occasion as well.

Just visiting the area, n was looking for a unique restaurant. This was a fantastic first time visit! The food and service was great. I had 2 cocktails, the Smith & Wesson and the Triumvirate. Both bartenders were attentive and knowledgeable. And for food the salmon crostinis and their amazing special; A play on chicken& waffles, breaded rabbit with homemade waffles and a bacon/blueberry compote. Would def come back again!

La Chass is a unique restaurant. The food is outstanding, and the service is always ready to respond to the customer's needs. I suggest that you bring your phone with a working light; the relative darkness of the interior may be offputting, especially while you are perusing the menu. Otherwise, the absence or harsh lighting produces a calming effect. Of the menu items, we'd recommend the mussels and the burger. Next time, we'll venture further.

This was probably our best ever dining experience at La Chasse. Food and service were both excellent! Our server, Madison, and the chef, Alex, both did excellent jobs. We will be back.

Our first time at La Chasse. With French dining, we expected small portions, but were pleasantly surprised with the generous portions served. We had an enjoyable conversation with owner Isaac Fox. Wonderfully friendly waitress. Our dining experience lasted 2 1/2 hours. A must try restaurant.

This restaurant was recommended by a colleague. I had a large party (12 people) at this restaurant. I like the dinner menu, it's small but with good selections. It's the same for the drink/wine menu. Food was delicious! The service was good but slow. It might due to I had a large party. I think it would be better if there were 2 waitstaff vs. 1 to check on us throughout the evening.

Wife and I celebrated our anniversary at La Chasse. The hostess greeted us by wishing us a happy anniversary, and things only got better from there. The food was incredible; highly recommend the salmon with mushroom risotto. The chef comped us dessert, a delectable cinnamon roll with apricot and mango, granola, and vanilla ice cream. The service was incredible. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate. Can't wait to go back to La Chasse!

The Scottish salmon with mushroom risotto was a culinary delight. The salmon melted in my mouth with a perfectly seared exterior that locked in its succulent tenderness with a gentle crunch.

Isaac and hunter make amazing cocktails and chef serves hands down some of the best cuisine to be had in town.

Food was expensive and overall average. Service was good. People were friendly, but for the cost of food and appetizers, it was over priced for the quality and service.

Great meal and service the Brie appetizer was amazing the the apple tort finished the meal perfectly.

Chicken dish was over done as was the escargot. Escargot plate not deep enough to hold enough butter.

La Chasse is a regular on the restaurant rotation for me. Some times I get a craving to pop in for the burger and when I hear the specials, I divert to the creative special of the evening. The menu is alway seasonal and fresh to keep me coming back all year around!

There are many great restaurants in Louisville. The Highlands boasts its fair share of them. But in my opinion, La Chasse is not only the "best kept secret" but also the best dining experience in all of Louisville. Nowhere else in town will you find La Chasse's exceptional mix of food (there is not a single weak item on the menu; everything we've ever ordered is a 10/10), cocktails (award-winning mainstays plus a rotating seasonal menu that always stuns in its creativity and balance), service, and value. The only knock on La Chasse is how unassuming it is -- which leads it to fly under the radar of its nearby "fancy date night" peers like Seviche, DKD, or Jack Fry's. This hidden gem never disappoints!

The escargot was 10 out of 10, the steak although I ordered it extra rare was medium rare was a 8 out of 10, french fries were 8 out of 10. Broccolini was a 9 out of 10. The creme brulee 9 out of 10. Espresso was good. The atmosphere is nice. But the thing that made the whole experience not good was the child screaming at the top of his lungs for an hour, literally not figuratively with the parents not taking the child out. We were not the only one who was upset about this patrons all around us were talking about it and upset. Limited menu. Bread was fantastic!

Our server (Catherine?) was attentive. The (obligatory) escargot was fantastic, even though they were not it the shells, and the olive oil/garlic sauce was perfect. The bread was perfect. After having the 'default' bread at other nice restaurants, this legit French bread was heavenly. The lump crab cake appetizer was the best crab cake my wife had ever had, and although it's not one of my go-to's, it was crazy good. The portions of the main meal were just right, but the dessert menu was woefully lacking; (3) items including a 'not warm' flan. Definitely on our 'Date Night' list.
