What a phenomenal place. We brought 24 people here and the greeting, smiles, and appreciation for us being here was very special. You are also greeted by smiles from the staff. The view of the airport and the tarmac adds to the special atmosphere. The food was amazing and served with excellence. We also had plane rides over the city at the airport during dinner. I recommend to try this place and I know you will have a great time. Keep up the great work and keep smiling. Hope to visit back soon. All the best from all of us from Canada.

Hands down, the best food!! Everything we had was absolutely eye rolling, mmm, sinking into your seat good! We sat outside so being able to see the planes take off and land was an added bonus. We will definitely be back again and again until we can complete the menu in full. Worth every penny!!

Bugs + rude, poor service. Do not give these snobs your money. We dined here to celebrate graduation. They were gracious in granting us a table outside. It took 2 hours to get through our meal without dessert and our waiter looked miserable while the maitre D (and another hostess) strangely drank wine at a table with other guests. I was served a glass of champagne which, after the first sip 10 seconds after arrival, I noted to have not one but 3 dead bugs dancing on the bubbles. It took 15 minutes for our waiter to return and offer a fresh glass. When the bill arrived, given that this is a fine dining restaurant, I expected it to be removed from the bill. It was not and so I went to find the waiter, not wanting to draw attention away from a happy day. I politely explained the situation and the hostess took the bill and removed the change but when she returned she condescendingly said to the entire table “Well, when you sit outside you have to be careful because there are bugs”. She implied that I had complained needlessly and the bugs were not present when served, when that was not even remotely the case. She then sat down and resumed drinking wine. It was totally bizarre. I love fine dining but have never felt so ignored and disrespected and will never, ever return.

Don't get me wrong the food was good, but it wasn't anything that had my raving for more. Great and fun experience being next to bowman field. It's almost an old timey feeling. Everything was cooked well. Service was fair but it seemed like everyone was kind of stiff, not really genuine.

What a spectacular spot! Very unpretentious - occupying part of the terminal for a small airport. A broad range of guests - old, young, and very diverse. My sense is that is was largely a local crowd. Not a large menu, but everthing was delicious. I had the rack of lamb and my partner had the duck. In both cases the sauces were memorable! Well worth a visit

This was our second visit, the first one having been outstanding. We shared the crab cake appetizer: the cake was not over-spiced, delicate and flavorful with excellent aioli and relish on the side. We both had the lamb: it was outstanding, possibly the best I've had. The carrots were cooked perfectly, and potatoes were a new and delightful experience, and the portion of lamb was quite generous. We wanted to pick up the bones and pick them clean. (We restrained themselves.) The review would be five stars except for dessert. The coffee ice cream was exceptional; the profiteroles were a huge disappointment. The choux was tough and we speculated whether the pastry had been refrigerated and caused this. Our reaction is probably caused by the inconsistency with the rest of a wonderful meal.

We visited this restaurant 23 years ago and had amazing memories. Yesterday we decided to have dinner here in honor of my birthday. And it was terrible. On the entire plate there were three thin rings of calamari, the rest was a fried dry substance. The husband was brought an appetizer , which consisted of three pieces of burned bread, several tiny pieces of good cheese and three half slices of salami. My main dish consisted of a bloody, wet piece of paper towel instead of a premium filet of beef. The asparagus was completely inedible. Seems like it’s been lying on a hot stove all evening and no longer has any taste or color. The same goes for mashed potatoes: its absolutely inedible! Oh, the Only 4 pieces of lamb ribs were edible and tasty. We just lost $178 and left completely hungry. The administrator, seeing we are not expecting after they brought us the appetizers, never show up again. almost all the food were lest on our plates. Oh! - I almost forgot: yes! I ate two pieces of warmed bread with two pieces of white mass that had nothing to do with a butter. I refused dessert in favor of my husband We left the restaurant hungry. But this is not the main thing: the main thing is that the reputation of the restaurant was destroyed. We won’t go ourselves and won’t recommend it to anyone. I only now understood why everyone to whom we recommended this restaurant was not delighted with it!

Le Relais is a cozy warm venue, in an historic building at the front of Bowman Field airport. Service was good but the single waiter was too busy to recheck after our food was served. We both had filet, scalloped potatoes, and green beans. My steak was charred black on one side, bitter and inedible. Partner’s steak was cold. Both of our sides were cold/room temp, possibly sat too long in the kitchen before delivery. The potatoes, sliced thinly for the recipe, needed another 30 to 40 minutes in the oven because the slices were too firm, close to raw. Haricot verts were big; just green beans and a bit tough. Soooo, we love Le Relais, but management needs to tighten up on the quality and important things like food temperature. It will be awhile before we give the place another chance! Let’s make this a fine French restaurant, as it was originally intended to be!

This was an unfortunate dinner. I’m not sure if the chef has changed or what, but it was not our usual experience. We ordered the tar tar and both had the coq au vin. The French fries were cold and the tar tar was overwhelmed with onions (not sure if they weee even shallots). The coq au vin was really bad. The sauce was weak, chicken simply tasted like shredded rotisserie chicken and soggy carrots. This was not the traditional and delicious dish we have had here many times. Bland. There were no pearl onions. Literally a canned soup would have been better. Our server was (I believe) the only server. He was pleasant and efficient.

No one else was seated near us until the end of our meal; but I can understand the comments about close quarters. Jared and his support staff took excellent care of us. My husband was underwhelmed by the seasonal special garlic soup; but I thought the fall squash salad was lovely. My escargots were good, but not as good as I remember them being. The garlic was a little undercooked and strong. His steak tartare was delicious. Our entrees (truite picatta and NY Strip) were both excellent. The Grand Marnier souffle was enormous and delicious. Too much for one person, but I tried. ;) We enjoyed an excellent French Viognier and he had a glass of 20 year port. The food was decent, but the service was HORRIBLE. I made a reservation about three weeks before our visit. I informed on the reservation that it was my mom's 82nd birthday. We showed up 10 minutes early and they sat us immediately......by the front door and in a booth with my shoulder jammed into the maitre d stand. That kind of set the mood for the rest of the meal. Being so close to the host stand we experienced the different treatment of customers as they came in the door 6 feet from us. The stuffy host, who's been there forever, gushed over his regular, older clientele. Not so much for younger, newer clientele. There was a young couple that came in and the girl had hot pink hair. He looked at her and said, "WOW!" In an extremely condescending way. They got set in the only table worse than ours by the front door. Anyways, they didn't bring us any bread when they brought every other table bread. When we finally ASKED for bread it was cold, dry, and tasted like it came from Kroger (bad bread at a fine-dining French restaurant? WHAT?!?!). We had to wait a long time for our orders to be taken and then were rushed into ordering appetizer and entree at the same time. The rack of lamb, filet, shrimp linguine, escargot, and Grand Marnier souffle were good, (barely good considering the $), but after we ate we didn't see our server for 25 minutes and we really wanted the bill. We had to flag her down. We won't be back. If I want to sit that close to other people and have a fine-dining experience I'll just go back to Jack Fry's or Volare. At least they offer EXCELLENT food, respect their clientele, and have superb and friendly service. My mom, who lived in France, just couldn't get over bad service at a French restaurant. It blew her mind. * I recently found out the host is the owner, (which is even more appalling), that he treats his young staff (bread/water runners) like indentured servants, and that his gf (petite, thin woman who looks stressed AF) ends up being the only server most nights. Also, he's not French, but Austrian. A long time personal employee of his told me this and more. I'm still pissed about this dining experience 7 MONTHS LATER!!!!! Please support nicer people's establishments with better food!!!!!! Volare is excellent!!! Their osso buco is DIVINE!!!! They don't need the business, but they actually deserve it, unlike Le Relais.

Le Relais is a favorite with us and our friends. If it were not for family obligations, we would be frequent diners. We love their seasonal menu and look forward to see the weekly listings. Sunday night is particularly wonderful as it had live jazz. The whole dining experience caps a weekend and helps us look forward to the work week. Thank you, Anthony for a gem of a place that we enjoy.
