This food is 100% trash. It's incredibly greasy and outlandishly unseasoned. We didn't even finish our food because there was a puddle of oil at the bottom of both of our plates. Idk why people keep going here.

Stopped in here for dinner on a Saturday evening. There was a line for pickup-to go meals. We got seated right away, no wait time. The waiter was right there. There got out drink orders and appetizers in right away. The nachos with beef were ok. It gave me taco bell flavor. I was just average, nothing special. The faheatas were good it was all cooked fresh and was good. The shrimp tacos were very good. The shrimp was cooked right. The fried ice cream was great and was a perfect sweet treat after a spicy meal. Have not been here in a long time would will be back. I would give them 8 out of 10 stars.

Little too quiet for my taste but great food and people

The food was good. Service was stunning fast. The food is authentic for the most part. However, the tortillas are store bought and not fresh. The waitress was quick and honest about food which in return made me happy because I didn’t order something I would regret. If you are looking for one hundred percent authentic this is not the place. Otherwise very good and quick service for lunch

Restaurant EXCEPTIONAL. 5 Service, very attentive. With chips, if you're game, ask for the hot salsa. Servers always Excellent. Attentive to refill drinks, and to help you with ordering. Personally I ask for Maria as a host when available. Food 5: These people are Masters of the grill, anything you order will meet your expectations. Atmosphere 5: The dining, bathrooms very clean. Mexican background music pleasurable.

If you want to enter a restaurant for friendly service DONT COME HERE! I never write reviews but this place warrants one! My family entered the restaurant at 9:25 pm. They had a sign on the door that said closing at 9:45. Online said 10 pm. My husband and I were right behind them. We are very elderly. They yelled at us across the room that they would be closing and order. We told the waiter we could leave if they were already cleaning the kitchen. We didn’t mind. He said no you have plenty of time. We ordered and the food came which was warm somewhat . My daughter got sick from her meal.Mine was soggy. They never checked on us . They then shut the lights off while we were eating still. The manager came over and yelled that we needed to leave cause it was closed and he wanted to go home. He was the rudest man. Who shuts the lights off and yells at you to go when you’re still eating? You should be ashamed treating customers like that. Would give zero if it let you

The staff and what we assume was the manager, were beyond rude. We came here for a family dinner, half of us driving out from DC. They said they closed at 10 per Google. When we arrived, we noted the sign on the door that the kitchen closes at 9:45, which is totally fine. We went in to get a table at 9:25. They were aggressively rude about ordering, yelling at our table from afar (we need your order, we are closing, etc.). Our parents were coming in behind us and they kept yelling saying we need their order. At this point it was 9:34. They kept saying they are closed and the kitchen is closed/closing. We kindly asked if they wanted us to leave. They said no but continued to be extremely rude. We ordered and received cold food, no refills on things we asked for, never saw our waiter again. Then, they turned the lights off as we were eating. We were still eating and the manager yelled, you need to go, we are closed and it is after 10. Totally understand if you want to close early, but just say so and do not be so rude.

Do not go here. They serve cold food and rushed us in and out in 45 min. The waitress was kind, but the manager or person up front was a jerk. He kept yelling at us from the front stand and kicked us out right at 10, when we were still eating. Will not go back.

This place is my favorite Togo to when I want some decent Mexican food. The staff is outstanding, very fast and friendly and are very attentive when it comes to our requests. The food is always great, no matter what we order. I might order the same plate almost every single time, however when I snack from my spouses plate, it’s always delicious, and when I do try something different, they knock it out of the park. The restrooms are also always clean, and well stocked with the products you need for proper hygiene. If you need somewhere to go or want to try something new to you, I highly recommend this place!! Go Chiefs!

That lunch special goes CRAZYYYYYY

La Tolteca has been my go-to Mexican restaurant in southern Maryland for more than a decade. It is consistently delicious, has fast service, and the best cheese dip & salsa around. It's very busy on Fridays and Saturdays, but most other times you can get a table without a wait. It remains one of the most affordable spots for dinner in the area, and a regular spot for me...lunch OR dinner!

This place is the absolute best Tex Mex restaurant in the area. The more you eat here, the more you are treated like family. The portions are always generous, the prices are more than fair and they are very efficient with turnover. If they are busy, you won't be waiting very long before you are seated. The service is always on point and they always make sure your drinks are filled and you are satisfied with their service. Each time we eat here we pick something different from the menu and are always satisfied with what they serve.

My wife and I have been here on many occasions and we love this place, the food is amazing, the drinks are great and we have now taken other family members here and we all love it.

Would give them 10 stars if I could. We've gone about once a month for over two years now and this is by far the best place for Mexican in all of Charles County and Southern PG County. Better food, lower prices, and better service than it's rival 'Mexico' just up 301 in White Plains. You will wait longer for your food at Burger King than you will in this sit down gem. Cannot recommend enough.

Had a bday dinner with my two sisters and omg it was a great experience. Henry our sever was so kind and polite. Even gave me a free dessert. I high recommend the chori pollo and the food was great and the portions were very filling especially for the price. The 40oz margarita with the Corona in it was very good as will for the price, 15 dollars was well worth it, total was 32 dollars for both of my orders which was a very good price and I'll definitely recommend you to go!

I know my review may counter that of others who ate here before, here is the real deal, I know Mexican food like the palm of my hand. I ordered the mole, and asked the person if it was good, they said they were not sure, that should have been my queue, needless to say, disappointing, taste like it was made from a can as it was soupy (consistency should be ticker ) flavorless and the service was also lacking, the server did not returned to offer water or sweet tea refill, and his service was mediocre, the place looks old and needing an overhaul, however people flock to it as it is one of the few restaurants in the area. To be fair, my friends food was better, he got the shrimp on the image. I also realize that the locals have given great reviews, and that is fine and well intended, however to get a place to improve we cannot operate only on grace without pointing the need for improvement.

The service and food were excellent. Salsa and Queso could have a lot more heat, but that's subjective. The only con was the noise level, it was so loud even though it wasn't very busy.

Easily the best Mexican spot in the area. Salsa and cheese dip are always on point. Service is great and food comes out quick. Haven’t had a bad thing from here yet, we typically go 1-2 times a month.

Ordered tacos carnitas, guacamole, pico de gallo and beans. hubby got huevos chorizo, papas fritas, beans and rice. Everything was hot and delicious! Manuel took good care of us! A real sweet heart! Pico was not made with jalapeños so he brought me some. He explained customers didn't always like it spicy. He made it all good! Saw familiar faces from the waldorf store. So nice to see them. We will be coming back for our tolteca fix!

I have visited La Tolteca on a few different occasions. The food is all very reasonably priced and the staff was super friendly. Overall, it was a good experience with good food.

Everything was great, from the chips and salsa to the Texas Fajita Quesadilla. Very good.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant! Well priced, well seasoned and great customer service. The food and chips are fresh and my fajitas are always served sizzling hot off the stove! My son and I use to frequent the Waldorf location weekly, but haven’t been to the LaPlata location as often. A few of the employees know us by name and/or face and they’ve always been welcoming! Give them a try and I’m sure they’ll become your favorite as well!

One of our favorite (and few!) local Mexican restaurants in the La Plata area. Try the fish tacos but be careful with the hot sauce! Kids menu has a great choices for the little ones. The bar has large ice cold beer in tap. Order some extra items for sharing off the ale cart menu. Finish off with a huge serving of fried ice cream!

Really great food! My husband and I had the Enchiladas Supremas and the Beef Fajita and they were both great. We were sat and waited on immediately, our server brought out extra chips and salsa for us when he saw we ate most of the ones he initially gave us, and the food came out quickly! The atmosphere is great for casual dining.

Great Mexican food with quick service. Menu is broad and a decent beer selection (and some margaritas and other drinks). Prices are good, and service is fast, efficient, and friendly. They often have big games up on the tvs. One of our favorite local Mexican restaurants.

Went on Cinco de Mayo at around lunch so we didn't have to wait for a seat. By the time we left, every seat was full. The food was good (i had a burrito) and the margarita special was alright.

Just bad. Went here expecting decent food based on the rating. Seasoning was not there. Not authentic Mexican food. Chips and appetizers were good, which is only reason I’m giving two stars.

Delicious food and attentive wait staff, this restaurant is one of our favorites. I usually get the chicken enchiladas with red sauce and my wife loves their beef burritos. Their carmal flan is to die for and you never leave hungry. The atmosphere is casually intimate with dim lighting and pleasant colors. Enjoy.

Super fast service and good eats. Every time I visit my food order comes to the table fast and hot. Been so many times now we joke with all the servers. But remember, margaritas are lime on the rocks and salted. Don't let anyone tell you different.

I LOVE Mexican food. I was worried that moving to this area would mean that I had to settle for less of my favorite foods or subpar options. This is my go to. I have to stop myself from going multiple times a week. My children love it, too. I usually get the burrito Supreme which is amazing! But I've also had their t bone steak and veggies 👌🏽, chorizo chicken, fish tacos, Carne asada, and nachos. Needless to say...it's hard to chose here. Everything was a hit.

The food and service is very hit or miss. I've been here 4 times. 1st time I received good service with burnt food. 2nd time Good service and good food. 3rd time Good service with halfway decent food. This last time, we received bad service with ok food. The cashier asked when we went to pay how was everything and we answered "horrible ". She continued laughing and talking with her coworkers. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. I DONOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT.

Had been anxious to try the Taco Salad here, I chose the Taco Salad Deluxe with Beef Tips rather than Ground Beef. Should have got the Ground Beef! There was so much Fat, and other Tissues in my Salad that I almost stopped eating. Must have been an off night for them because I have eaten here many times and never had an experience like this before.

We will be back. Our server, Justino, was fast and polite. The food was amazing and came out quickly too. Try the vegetarian enchiladas with cheese sauce.

I like the Waldorf Location better, but was shut down.
