Food was outstanding and area is beautiful here would go back in a heartbeat

Our server was very nice and efficient. Nachos were good, but the cheese was kinda globbed. Flavor was delicious.

Great food with a brunch buffet on Sunday!!!!Everything about this place we loved!!Cabins were wonderful. 2 bedrooms where our kids could stay. Great fishing. We will definitely be back!!!!

We’ve come here for Sunday brunch a few times and the food is always excellent! We had a bit of a longer wait at the buffet station because of lots of large groups coming in at the same time, but no foods ever seemed to run out! Great view from the outside tables as well.

Let me first say I love lake hope and have very fond memories of it as a child. But recently we stayed in one of the cabins and the kitchen was infested with maggots. There was no one over the weekend to fix the problem and no other cabins to move to. I have tried to get ahold or Lori Calderon to fix the issue of a refund for the stay, but that effort has been in vain. Again, the lodge and food are great. I have not received an appropriate response, which goes along way for customer service.

Sunday Brunch is awesome. Well worth the beautiful, curvy, wooded drive to this place. Walking up to the lodge I feel like I’m on the set of Dirty Dancing. The lodge isn’t huge but looks well kept and I’d absolutely rent a cabin or room here for a week. The buffet isn’t huge either but every food I tried was at least good, most of it was great. The pulled pork was wonderful and the berry cobbler alone will make me come back again. It was mostly breakfast foods on the line with some BBQ style meats and wood-fired pizzas too. A bit pricey but you get your fill and it’s tasty so why not?

We had a great time at the lodge. We didn’t wait long to be seated and our waitress was awesome. We thought they offered a good selection of choices on the menu too. The pizza was good. The burger was great. We all loved the fries! The lodge is so nicely decorated and it’s very comfortable. They have an outdoor dining area as well that’s very scenic. You might even be able to get wifi while you’re here! It’s almost impossible to find a signal anywhere but they offer free wifi so we took advantage of that.

Absolutely, one of my favorite places to go! The best Sunday brunch! Potatoes, turkey, Blackberry cobbler and pizza are my favorites! The staff is very friendly! Such a nice place!!

Food is average, locations is good with a little bit of a view. Brisket was dry and disappointing.

The food was incredible. I got the burger, and as someone that had always thought 5 Guys was great, this burger was so much better. And more reasonably priced. If I lived nearby, there is no way I would go to any chain burger place over the lodge. And the fries were excellent too. The staff was very friendly and the service was pretty quick. There were not a lot of other diners there, so I can't speak to how it is during a dinner rush. The waitress was very nice and was quick to apologize and swap out a drink that had something in the glass. But she did not notice that the drinks were low and offer to refill them, and we didn't see her after she brought out our food. So we had to eat the last half of our meal without anything to drink. Which was just a slight knock on an otherwise tremendous dining experience.

A nice restaurant in the MacArthur area of Hocking Hills. We come down and hike often, as well as come for SOFR. We wanted to try this place. It's nice to have something close by, there aren't a lot of options outside of downtown MacArthur or Logan. The location is hard to find, they should put a sign at the Stage Park entrance and near the restaurant. The menu is a good size, good selection. Everything was good. The staff was friendly even though the service was a bit slow which is only an issue because there were a lot of staff and not a lot of clients at the time, so very confusing. The food did come out quickly, which is nice. Worth visiting if you're in the area.

Ribeye steak was a good cut, seasoned good, and cooked as ordered. Fries and roll were also really good.

Hat a great place to get away too

out came our salads with a beetle in one, we let the waitress know and she thought it was funny, trying to make jokes about it instead of apologizing. She said “do you want another?? (No response from us)…another bug?” And laughed. Not funny. Then when she brought the bill she said I took a couple bucks off for the uninvited guest…literally $2 off a $60 bill!! And the meal itself was dry and gross. Terrible service and less than mediocre food with bugs in it save your money and time and go somewhere else. We visited on 5/28/2024 around 6 pm and the waitress was older with gray hair and glasses don’t know her name she didn’t tell us

The food at the lodge was fantastic! We had the smoked brisket add pulled pork one day, and Caesar salad in smoked turkey the next day. Everything was worth returning!

We try to get out here at least once a month! Great food, atmosphere and service. Nice selection of local brews to try. I recommend the "Pride of the Pit" but many things good to eat here!

This was the best meal I have had in years. The food was amazing and the service was great. Was treared so well I wish it was closer to my home. I will go back.

It's been a couple years since we have dined here. I'm on a mission to give positive reviews to those that need it, so I'm back tracking a bit. We had our first Hocking Hills weekend away, just my husband and I. We live about 4.5 hours from HH. I did a Facebook post asking for suggestions to do/eat/see while in the area. Lake Hope Lodge was one of them. We came in November, so most of the leaves were down. It was a beautiful drive up, and once you arrive at the restaurant, the view down into the hollow is a looker too! We dined in the main dining hall with HUGE high ceilings and lovely wooden beams. We did have a seat next to the window looking down into the hollow. It would have been and even better experience if we had been there during warmer temperatures and could have sat outside. We might have to make the trek back to LHL! We had a couple beers and decided to start off with some loaded potato skins- they were a win! My husband had the ribeye, veggies and baked sweet potato. He enjoyed his meal. I had the Pride of the Pitt, which goes against everything in me as I'm a pasta/salad lover, and shy away from protein most often. It was delightful! I kept saying during my meal that I had made the right choice! All three meats were cooked to perfection. I got a side of coleslaw and the veggies as well. We didn't find that the prices were obnoxiously high, like you so often find when traveling to touristy areas. Our server did a great job as well. This was a very enjoyable experience!

They had a buffet style Mothers Day lunch. It was really good food and service was great. Scenery was amazing!!

Food is fabulous! It was a buffet,so not much on the way of service. The view is amazing. But inside it is loud and clattering. Very expensive ,worth it for the special occasion.

The park is great , the Easter Buffet was a little disappointing . First service was good , the food on buffet was almost out of everything when we went through and cold . The beef brisket was real good , the turkey was real good , the lamb way over cooked cold . All the other stuff was maybe ok at best . Desert very disappointing also . For the cost of 44.00 each I expected a little better quality.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Get the pork chop. Amazing pork chops. Rooms are very nice and plenty of private seating throughout hotel. Great experience.

Celebrated there this weekend. Awesome food! Awesome interior and atmosphere! The best part was the amazing service!

Had a great lunch. They are Celiac friendly and my wife could enjoy many items. My only gripe was the Reuben was quite thin. Definitely not a stack of meat and toppings. The taste was great but it was too thin.

My first time here. My son and I were out putting miles on the motorcycles and decided to stop here. It was fantastic. I had the pulled pork plater and my son has the smoked brisket plater. Everything was spectacular. Will definitely be going back.

I was a little skeptical about this place located in the Lake Hope Lodge (dining hall in the park). I was very pleasantly surprised. I had the barbecue (their specialty) sampler and everything, including the turkey, was excellent! My wife had a wood fired oven pizza, which was also very good. They serve beer, wine, and mixed drinks, so you can have a beverage of your choice with dinner!

Had the Pride of the Pit which had smoked turkey, pulled pork, and the brisket and it was excellent. The au gratin potatoes where something to write home about. Service was great! We really enjoyed the scenery.

Their food is incredibly good. They have melt in the mouth brisket, fresh salads and great dessert. We will be back!!

Really nice to get away from the usual places. Go after 5 PM for the wood fired pizza..

Amazing ride and dine at the Lake Hope Lodge restaurant. The Brisket sandwich was out of this world. I can say with all confidence this was the best brisket I have ever eaten! The place was at about 50% capacity, the service was excellent and the rest of the meal was top notch. Lake Hope Lodfae restaurant checked all the boxes on 9/30/23. P.S. get the Berry Cobbler for dessert!

Haven't been disappointed yet. Excellent food for an out-of-the-way place located in a State Park Lodge. Check your cell service in the parking lot because there isn't any in the restaurant itself or in the entire surrounding area.

Food is good but portions are shrinking. And prices went up.

The food is more than decent, and the place is worth checking out if only for the ambiance of the Zaleski State Forest and Lake Hope. Wait staff was friendly and attentive, and our orders were correct. Portions are a good size, and the quality is nice. I wish I had got a steak to see what they were hittin on in that department, but maybe next time.

The food and service here were excellent. We had great seats with a view out on the balcony. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Our food was made to order and did not disappoint. Delicious lunch!

Really good service! My server was fantastic. The prices are very reasonable since the portions are so large that you will get enough calories for four days. I had the vegetarian sandwich with fries, it came out on a large plate, and the sandwich was much higher quality than what I was expecting. Totally worth stopping in and taking a break from hiking.

This place is great. We go every time we get the chance. The Sunday brunch buffet is worth every penny.

You can honestly share the food with someone because you get so much of it. It's a nice warm meal and nice AC when you're camping. I recommend something smoked from the menu and they always have delicious desserts! If it had to say anything negative it's that the bathroom doors have a 3-4 inch gap so someone can see right in which is weird.

Great food with a beautiful view of the lake valley

After eating dinner there last night and discovering that they do brunch on Sunday, we decided to go back this morning for brunch. Dinner last night was "pride of the pit" with pork, brisket and turkey as well as augratin potatoes and salad it was some of the best smoked pork I've had. Going back for brunch this morning and having more pork, brisket, turkey as well as buttermilk pancakes, biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon and to die for triple berry cobbler with fresh homemade whipped cream. Highly recommend!

Love the food, service and scenery. We love to sit on the patio overlooking the Lake.

Not much of a “meat on meat” burger person, but Charlotte’s Revenge was fantastic. A 1/2 pound patty, piled high with smoked pulled pork, Cole slaw and pick your favorite cheese. Great flavor and portions were huge! The service was outstanding as well. They were packed with a big group taking up several tables. Tabitha was right on top of everything for us.

We were staying near Hocking Hills and not impressed with the food and jam packed restaurants in Logan. So glad we made the trip to lake hope. Food was 10/10 and there was no waiting for a table even on a holiday weekend. Would have gone back Sunday evening if it was open.

Went for the first time in years to Lake Hope for Sunday brunch. It is the only time in the week it is buffet style. Smoked pork, brisket, and turkey all available, as well as scalloped potatoes, biscuits and gravy, vegetables, and there was a salad mix I didn't try (the forementioned brisket, pork, and turkey). There was also a wood fired pizza, and berry cobbler. This is around $25, which I think is a dollar more than the three meat combo Monday through Saturday. Everything was very good, but the brisket has been the star for several years for me. I had multiple pieces, some had a deep char, but the meat was still melt-in-your-mouth juicy. So good. My family was with me, and one of my kids said they were experiencing "savory" overload, not having anything to balance it. It is worth a moment to go out on the deck and check out the view... It ain't bad, not at all. The service was great, keeping up with plates and drink refills in a busy room The room was about 3/4 full, with additional seating being utilized down the hall. Our seats were right in the flow of the air conditioning, which was quite chilly. I would have requested another table had it not been busy, but I was grateful not to wait. If you are into smoked brisket, pork, and turkey, you at least need to try this at least once. They rent overnight cabins as well, with various trails and activities.

Beautiful place overlooking a lake. A bit off the beaten path. Hard to believe this entire valley was once stripped bare of trees. All 2nd growth forest now. 30 minute drive from Hocking Hills.

We had a fantastic dinner on the deck with a view of Lake Hope and the valley below. I had had the smoked brisket, which was tender and moist. My wife had the grilled veggies and was also, pleased with her meal. The prices seemed reasonable. The only letdown was the poor beer choices. While the beer menu listed several nice options, their inventory was limited to only a couple generic domestic lights.

The lodge has amazing food, well worth the drive and always leave full. Lake Hope itself was beautiful, and quiet. The Hiking trails were well maintained, however the pet friendly cabins could use a good A/C checkup before the season starts. On our second day in 90 degree weather our unit froze up the maintenance mansaid he haf checked the unit and that it needed to stay on auto and that it would start cooling down as the evening went on, it did not 83 degrees in a cabin with dogs was interesting. However, the gentleman that responded to our second call actually recharged the unit and was kind enough to leave us a note saying what he had done and that we should be good to go and after a day of hiking in the heat it was greatly appreciated😉 The lady working the gift shop was so sweet and friendly it was like talking to family- you could tell she loved her job. We love visiting Lake Hope and schedule a trip when we can just for the dogs to have a vacay so we can spend time with them. We have such crazy schedules that they dont get much outdoor time and this is a great adventure for all of us.

Customer Service would be a 5. Staff in the lodge store are so friendly and courteous. Wait staff is good, not as on-it as in the past, attribute this to staff shortage. BRING BACK THE FRIDAY PRIME RIB… please! It’s all that kept me from a 5 star rating. It was soooo popular. Came from Dayton with 35 ladies who were excited about it. Maybe next year?

It's worth the drive for some great BBQ. I highly recommend the smoked turkey. The waitress was super sweet. The view off the balcony was pretty but construction on the dam kind of ruined it.

This is the first time that I've ate here and it was absolutely amazing The food was to die for The waitress was great!!! very good waitress kept my drink filled up and so sweet I will definitely be visiting this place again I recommend it to anyone if I could give it more than five stars I would

Wow. I had absolutely no problem paying what I did today (Tuesday may 30th) the food was unbelievable. Homemade everything. My grandma would've been proud to see how far the lodge has come since the fire. Truly a 5 star rating. Without question. If I had the cash, I'd have ordered everything on the menu just to try it all and support this place. Sitting on the balcony in the breeze and sun. Staring at the view of the lake. This was probably top 10 experience of my life. BBQ sauce to die for. Ranch that is perfect for anything. The meats were so good, I wish they were never ending. I would've willingly made myself sick eating it all. Our waitress was incredible and also she needs a raise. All the employees deserve a day off for the day that I experienced. I will be returning very soon. Also I noticed a lot of "expert chefs" have been commenting about the food. I guarantee y'all couldn't cook half as good. Salt and pepper doesn't make you a gourmet chef. Please don't insult cooks that you couldn't even compare to. A BIG thank you to the cooks in the back. If you're in the area, grab a menu and take the plunge. I've been coming to Lake Hope for almost 25 years and everyone from the nice lady in the office to the park ranger that gave me a ride back to my campsite during a storm. All of them are good people and I will continue to support this place until I stop breathing. Thank you for putting a smile on my face everytime I'm here.

Patio seating was absolutely gorgeous! Their brunch is Southeastern Ohio’s hidden secret! Service was friendly and prompt. You just get the sense your in the company of friends with their staff. The food is excellent and of high quality.
