Ordered a TEC, and a “build your own” turkey and cheddar. The TEC was great but I got the wrong sammie. I called them up they were super nice and sent the right sammie out right away, which I really appreciated because I had initially ordered via Uber and I’m a bit far from them. They could have offered a refund, but they didn’t they sent me the right order and gained a lifetime customer, thank you!!!

Food is fresh and delicious all the time! Consistently great!

The worst corn beef sandwich ever. Very little meat no condiments, cold slaw no lettuce or tomato. Very poor I will never return

Writing this overdue review after our experience ordering one of Lakeside's family meals. We sampled the general tso's chicken accompanied by rice and vegetables. The quality was excellent, really flavorful and so easy to order and pick up. We really like this deli and recommend it to others.

The guy who took care of me was completely untrained and didn’t know how to use the ordering system or even how to add the drink and chips. You think they would hire a trained person, but no. Needless to say I was pretty miffed when I was asked to leave a tip while checking out. I am usually a pretty good tipper but the guy who took my order and rang me up was incompetent and did not deserve it. The sandwich was tasty though. The good news here is that when you go there, that guy won’t be there. How do I know? I was the guy. Really a little bit of personal service goes a long way. There is zero here.

Today I had Penne with Vodka sauce & shrimp with garlic bread Family meal. I’ve had it before and highly recommend it. Not only does it taste great but it’s a healthy portion. Definitely could feed at least 4 people or more. The food is usually ready when they say it will be. If this sounds like something you would like then you’ll be glad you tried it. I know I’ll be ordering it again 👍

Love Lakeside Deli. Have used their catering on a few family occasions as well as for bigger meals for the family. And also love just going in for a breakfast sandwich. Everyone is so pleasant and accommodating and helpful there as well! I have pre-ordered ahead of time and they have always provided the best service and great food.

After a beach day I was reluctant to make dinner and called Lakeside at 5:45PM and was surprised they would put together a chicken francaise with penne tray for me within 30 min. Hands down this place saved my butt with their tasty meal! Thank you!

New review: haven't been back here in a bit... Kiosks are added to increase speed of transactions, unfortunately that also means I don't get the pulse of the place that gave it the unique Deli vibe. The owners aren't slicing or making sandwiches. Besides the obvious mistakes in my order, the sandwich doesn't taste the same. Am I missing the love? 🤷‍♂️. All in all this place may still be active in the local community but I definitely feel like my 8inch $13 sub lacking my selected ingredients is overpriced and not worth the extra drive I take just to get their subs. Old review: Best Deli within 20 mile radius. Check out the coleslaw. Also the family meal is awesome, great value and the Deli donates some part back to the local school.

Food is good but you can't just order at the counter...you have to order online or use a kiosk? A little annoying.

I love this place. Not only is the food of the highest quality, but the employees and owners are wonderful people. Highly recommend not only for lunch and dinners. ( they have family style specials all week) but also had them cater several parties for me that were a HUGE success. Cannot say enough good things, Highly recommend.

I ordered cheesesteak. Everything about the San which was delicious, the meat, the bread, the veg. But, it was really a steak sandwich with a touch of cheese. Anyone who has had a Philly cheesesteak in Philly knows it’s loaded with cheese. I would order it again with extra extra cheese. Delicious. And the waffle fries were great too.

I have been a customer of the Verona Lakeside Deli for over 40 years. Jackie O'Neill and his team always deliver the best deli experience possible. On the catering side, Eight Hills is also extraordinary. Although we now live many miles away, we always return to "the old neighborhood" for their great food and charming atmosphere.

This was the easiest most streamlined (catering) ordering process ever. So simple, completely accurate and ready early. I can't say enough positives about the friendliest place in Essex County. Highly recommend!

I ordered the turkey family meal (a personal Lakeside favorite). It was super yummy as usual. I also saw navy bean soup on the menu. Since bean soup is normally a favorite too and since Jessica said how good it was, I decided to give it a try. She was right! Another home run! Next time I’m getting a quart. Kudos to the chef who makes soup at Lakeside. Great food, great people.

Food is exceptional for a delicatessen! These dinners are supposedly for 4 people, but they really should be for 3! You are really stretching saying it's enough food for 4 people, especially ... now that they eliminated the salad. Why they did that, I haven't a clue. My suggestion since the food is very good, would be to offer a little more food if they want to say it's for 4 people. If it's a matter of "cost", then up your price a bit, but don't scimp on the size. I believe most people would rather pay a few more $ and get enough food for 4 people, so they don't have to ration out the portions when they get home. Yes, current price is great, but if you can't feed 4 adults, it takes away from the offer itself. No offense meant. It's my opinion. I would definitely recommend this delicatessen. I just think a little tweaking is in order on the amount of food. Thanks!
