To say the least, I was disappointed. I came to Lane’s because I’ve always heard good stuff from my friends and family. However, that wasn’t necessarily our experience. Whenever we got there, we were seated promptly in a nice corner at the back of the dining room and my wife and I ordered the 8 ounce chicken breast with french fries and a baked potato, and the large seafood platter with beets and a baked potato. When our food got there we could tell that a number of the items we ordered were frozen and unseasoned. The food was overall very underwhelming my 8 ounce chicken breast came as two 4 ounce chicken breasts. Nice staff and restaurant, but food was just overpriced for the quality.

We enjoyed the food and was a very busy place. We would go back .

We found Lane’s Seafood and Steak House tonight. Though we have lived in Harnett County for three years, we have never visited this restaurant until now. The new signs posted at the Old Fairgrounds Road/ Stephenson Road intersection and the NC 50 / Stephenson Road intersection are helpful to those who are still learning the area. The restaurant is refined but cozy, and our waitress ( Sheila) was super friendly and accommodating. The food was great. We tried the seafood ( I ordered flounder; my companion ordered fried shrimp). The bread coating on the fish and shrimp was light, crispy, and seasoned to perfection. The white slaw included a trace of pickle and pepper, which paired well with the seafood. The potatoes were served steaming hot and the butter melted instantly when applied to the soft and yielding potato. The only disappointment was the hushpuppy texture. The puppies were shaped more like strands than scoops, and the grease in which they were fried permeated the entire body of the hush puppy. The result was a dense and gooey bread. But there are so many recipes for hush puppies, and the patrons of this long standing eatery must like this one. We were content to pass on the puppies because the remainder of the meal was so good. We will return to try other options on the menu. We had a pleasant dining experience.

Nice place, good service, & good food. My only issue was the fact that they were out of at least half of the beers on the menu. No Michelob Ultra, no Coors light, and no Bud Light.

Elegant dishes served with the best service. Casual or fancy doesn't matter because of the Southern hospitality. The owner circulates and interacts with his customers. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. Just don't grab the round bottle of red stuff to squirt on your fries. It's cocktail sauce.

Will definitely be back! It was nice to get great food in a great atmosphere and not have to drive to Raleigh.

This was our first time eating here and we will be back! The food was really good, the service was really good, and we love the atmosphere. We highly recommend it and can't wait to go back.

To; Mr.Gregory Lane Tonight along with two other friends that we invited to join us for dinner , We had an excellent dining experience. Our waitress Bayleigh was astounding in getting our order and our drinks. She was very helpful to our table as we asked questions about some of the entrees. Our food arrived to our table piping hot and delicious! Bayleigh made sure we got everything we asked for and was very professional about serving us in a kindly manner. Mr. Lane i would personally like to give Bayleigh 5 stars for customer excellence. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 What an awesome dining experience we all had from the meal to the desserts. Along with my dessert i ordered the Peach Cobbler and a decaffeinated coffee which both were delicious. We will definitely be returning soon and enjoy another outstanding meal. * Plenty of free parking *Handicap essesible and handicap parking *Super clean restrooms *Excellent friendly staff * Delicious cooked and prepared meals *A great atmosphere for fine dining. Visited the Saturday after Thanksgiving with my wife and parents. The restaurant came highly recommended for their fried flounder, and my dad ordered and like that, but our other meals were average to below average. My wife ordered crab cakes and they were very disappointing, really no crab to speak of in the cakes. The green beans tasted like they came directly out of a can. I did enjoy the fried shrimp and the hush puppies. The menu is fairly limited and they don't offer many varieties of items, even basic things you'd have at Mayflower or Captain Stanley's like broiled scallops. Upscale prices without an equal improvement in offerings and quality.

Lanes has a family atmosphere that overlooks a lake, and Gregory Vineyards. The landscape is beautiful. The food is excellent, the staff are great, and if you dine in you may get a table visit from Lane himself. They also have a wide array of wines. I recommend the steak, grilled salmon, fish and shrimp. The peach cobbler is amazing as well. If you want a family atmosphere to eat your dinner Lane's is the place to go.

Great seafood & customer service.

Great little hidden gem restaurant! The service was great and the food was just as good. We all got the steak and shrimp and nobody was disappointed, nor did we leave hungry. Not to mention, the peach cobbler was the cherry on top. Give this place a try and I think you’ll be happy.

This is our new go to spot! Lane’s Seafood never disappoints. It is always great food, love the atmosphere and the owner and staff make you feel that they appreciate you. Our waitress Andrea was superb! Friendly, attentive and we lacked for nothing.

Not bad for weekend hangout dinner spot,kind of old school here,servers and people,usually old people don’t make mistakes at this point!

8/5/2023: Great food and great service. Although busy on a Saturday night, we were served quickly. The grilled salmon was cooked perfectly. The Betty Faye wine was good with the meal.

Waitress was very attentive and took great care of us. The owner is very friendly and he takes the time to speak to his customers.

Great hidden seafood restaurant in the McGee's Crossroads area. My first visit in 30 years. Seafood was delicious and so are the hushpuppies. Service was great as well. Highly recommend.

I came here a few weeks ago for a wine tasting. I was not disappointed. The red apple shine is my favorite. My fiancé and I decided to come here for dinner. We had seafood. Next time, we will try the steak. All the seafood was fried but it was a nice thin coating. Cooked perfect. I just felt like a wedge or 2 of lemon would have gone great with my flounder. The only other issue i had was the cole slaw being a little runny. Can't wait to go back.

I truly enjoyed being here, as I was able to enjoy high quality food for a reasonable price and in a comfortable environment. Lane was there, and made a point to speak to every table, enjoying conversation and listening to his guests. Serving staff were knowledgeable and prompt, and the atmosphere was such that you could be comfortable whether you were wearing a suit or jeans. No judgment! I will say it is a little out of the way, so plan to do a bit of driving to get there and around the property. There are signs marking the way, so you shouldn’t get lost. All in all, this restaurant is well placed on a large estate away from city sounds with a reasonably priced menu and very good food. I will return!

This was such a nice place to bring my parents. They moved here recently from PA to Angier. I am just visiting from Florida and of course love a good vineyard. We came for dinner on a Thursday night and were very surprised at the beauty of the vineyard. Upon walking in we were greeted by a nice hostess and seated at a booth. The server was sweet and punctual! The owner, Lane pulled up a chair and talked with my parents and I about their move and where they are nestled. The food was great, the atmosphere was great and it was comforting to know my parents have a great place to go as a local! Thank you!!!!

Food was severed in a timely manner... HOT, FRESH and DELICIOUS! For sure will be going back soon! Lane stopped by every table to greet all of their customers. Definitely has a family type atmosphere. Teresa and I sat outside and talked while watching the thunderstorm that rolled through. This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem!

I have found this restaurant to have the greatest staff and the food is to die for. Helping are a plenty. If you love eating fish this is a must go place! They also have a steak that is delicious. Try to go as often as possible.

I'm torn because while the service was great, the food was just ok. We got a bottle of wine to start because it was 6$ for a glass or 12$ for a bottle. You might as well go with a bottle at that point. I was actually extremely pleased with the wine, it's a muscadine wine called Happy and I was very happy drinking it. The hush puppies were good, you get a large basket while waiting for your food. The boyfriend got a salad to go with his meal and it was a little lacking. 2 slices of tomato, an onion slice, and some lettuce (I think there was something else on the salad but can't remember). Nothing special about the salad here. I ordered the salmon with sweet potatoes and green beans, he ordered a steak. The boyfriend was extremely happy with the steal, he said it was cooked perfectly. My salmon was subpar. Minimal seasoning, no sauce. It was just a piece of fish on the plate. I really wish there was some more seasoning or some sauce to top it because it was lacking. I am planning on going back to try the fried seafood options to see if that is any better. The staff were friendly. The lady at the checkout and the hostess were kind, it didn't take long at all to be seated. The owners came and checked in twice while we were eating and greeted the people around the restaurant. The vineyards are beautiful to drive into as you pull up to the restaurant. The views are perfect. I wish there were more windows in the restaurant so you could look out at the vineyards while you eat. Again, I'll definitely give them another try, but for a first visit and a place so close to me, I was hoping for it to be better.

We came to North Carolina for a race and ventured out for dinner due to weather. What a wonderful place! Such friendly staff!! And Lane came and sat at our table for awhile. What a nice man and family he has!! Great food too!!

Paid To much for some soft fish it was supposed to be fried fish but apparently they boiled it lol over rated wouldn’t go bac spent more than 90 bucks for me an family disappointed!!!!

What a wonderful evening we had! The restaurant itself is nestled in a beautiful place, the service was outstanding and the food was excellent!!! It is reasonably priced so it is not prohibitively priced for families such as our group of 10! The owner visited our table and all the others around us thanking us for our patronage and even spending a few minutes to make small talk which we found to be a highlight of our evening. Definitely worth visiting this well kept secret!!!

If you've never been to Lane's Seafood & Steak House, please make plans to go. You will love their food as well as the rural location. And even when you're full at the end of the meal, you've got to make room for a dessert. I especially love the peach cobbler.

Great seafood. Had a party of 9. Seated within 10 minutes. The owner interacts with all the customers. Atmosphere is casual and friendly.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Went there for steak, but I refuse to pay $33.00 for a 10oz ribeye. Settled for seafood instead. Ordered 3 combination. Oysters, shrimp and fish. The oysters were good. The fish and shrimp both seemed to be of low quality frozen seafood. For a $20.00 seafood plate, I expect it to at least taste like fresh seafood.

Food was good, nothing special. Had the rib eye which was tasty, but a rather thin, 10oz cut. Prices seemed a little steep for what it was. Would I go back, sure on special occasions.

Best food, service and atmosphere in the area. We are not from the area but dine there whenever we visit our daughter. My husband always asks my daughter which night we are going to Lane's. We ❤ it!

Madison was our server and she was terrific. The meals were all delicious, flounder, catfish, crab cakes, hush puppies, green beans, French fries and even the beets. There was so much food we had to bring the dessert home (peach cobbler).

Debated with myself whether a 2 or 3 star. I can say the waitress made me give it a 3 star. She was awesome. Friendly attentive and had jokes. Lol. Dana. Also Lane came over and said a quick hello. Food wise meh. Got the seafood platter/deluxe. As described it is lightly breaded but flavorless. They didn’t have any oysters so gave more shrimp and scallops. Shrimp was cooked nicely but scallops were overcooked and rubbery. Flounder was awful. The thought that came to mind was breaded cardboard. Hush puppies were good. Wife’s steak (10oz) was cook to order and she was ok with it. Final input is 2 entrees with sodas was $80. Really expensive for what we we got. Could of gone to Mayflower Seafood and spent half the price.

Everything was wonderful food, service, and people!! Small Town family run is the way to go!!!! Everything made a big difference than just eating at a chain place. Will be back. Everyone must go at least once. A few $$ but well worth it Especially for a special occasion.

The fish was too dry to eat. The cole slaw was just pieces of cabbage (not shredded, but actually pieces) with very little mayonnaise. The snap beans were too salty. The shrimp and scallops were both chewy and hard to swallow. I am extremely disappointed in spending that much money for such bad food.

Lanes serves the BEST GRILLED SHRIMP..just the right amount of seasoning. Their Ribeye is awesome...meat in your mouth. Not too much seasoning or overages. Better than Angus Barn! My FAVORITE is the house dressing (similar to Thousand Island; homemade with a twist!) Love it! Great service!

Amazing food! Our server Dana was so sweet and great at her job. You can tell she truly cares about the place. We ate an amazing meal and then one of the regulars (she said his name was Wayne) paid for our whole meal! This has truly been the best experience. We wished we lived closer to go here all of the time! Thank you! This is a memory we could never forget!

This place is a fine establishment. Food is great, service is top-notch. Occasionally the owner comes by your table check on how things are with you and your family and to make sure all your food is good. Can't ask for much more. Just a really nice place.

Awesome awesome awesome, 2nd time at this fine hidden gem and it’s just awesome. Food is delicious, greatly priced and staff has always been wonderful and inviting. Wine selection is great as well.. go see them now!! My fav is the fried seafood of everything and my husbands fav is the T bone steak!!!

The place is nice, like a dark quiet Lodge to eat. My wife and I both ordered ribeye dinner. I ordered a side of scallops for myself. The food was good, really no complaints. However $40 for a ribeye, baked potato in foil, and Cole slaw is definitely not equal to what we ordered, I was very surprised. They only serve Ribeyes and the menu price is "market" so you don't really know. I'd like to know what market they're going to. So $80 for 2 ribeye dinners with very basic sides. Those dinners should of been around $27 dollars. Also on my receipt each of our dinners cost $40, not sure how that's possible when she had the 10oz and I had the 14oz. So something definitely not right there. Nice place but prices don't reflect what you are getting nor are they consistent when you order two of the same dinner but at different ounces but same price?

Food was very good service was great and we look forward to going again. The wife picked this spot for out 26th anniversary as we have only been a few times because we always forget about it as it is a bit of a drive for us.

Great seafood, my friend got a steak that he said was delicious. I've only ever had the shrimp, flounder and scallops, they are always excellent. Surprisingly good for the middle of the country. Never have tried any of the wine but the grape Vines make for a beautiful view especially if you sit on the 2nd story.

Literally one of my favorite places to eat in the area. Beautiful location, delicious seafood, great wine, and the staff and owner are warm, friendly, efficient and welcoming. Food arrives fast and fresh and prices are very reasonable. Def a must visit for anyone looking for delicious seafood and great service ♥️

We were looking for a seafood restaurant close to Fuquay Varina. Found this place. Nice drive and even better food. Loved it, will be back.

Food was very good and service was excellent. Hush puppies were soo good. This was our first time, but our friends had recommended it. The wine was very good. Mr. Lane came by during our meal to see if everything was ok. Ii made it very comfortable and relaxing. One suggestion would be, if you had outside dining to enjoy the magnificent views of the winery. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening. I would absolutely recommend Lanes Seafood to go for a great experience.

The food was wonderful, especially the steak which they hand cut for you. The steak is market price but not extravagantly high. The homemade ranch was delicious and the grilled shrimp were grill size,not small. The owner greeted us personally and even gifted us all with their fresh peach cobbler. The grounds of the vineyard which the restaurant is a part of are charming and picturesque. This is worth a trip to Angier.

This was an amazing place. I was really amazed of the timely service and the wonderful wait staff. The owner is really nice which he introduced himself and chatted for a few. Made us feel right at home and made us feel very welcomed with great food to boot. Will definitely be back and maybe make this our weekly dining out place. Five stars in my opinion.... 👍

Real treat! Tucked away off hwy50. A secret spot to take a dear one to.. Friendly staff. Julia was really sweet. Good food. Great mucsadine wine. The crab cakes were really tasty. My husband had the rib eye steak, it was good, he loved it. I'll have to return in the summer so we can sit out front.

I have been there twice and both times the service was impeccable and atmosphere very relaxing. The food was cooked to perfection and reasonable for what you get. Definitely will be back toon!

Lanes is not only a great place to enjoy fine and affordable food, it's a place where customers are made to feel like family. I dont know what's better, the food, the wine, or the hugs from the friendly staff. Lanes proves that you dont have to spend a small fortune at an overpriced phony Raleigh eating establishment to enjoy a great evening out. Y'all better get over there and eat.

This was the first time eating at Lane's, but it won't be the last. The food was amazing. Fried seafood was lightly battered and seasoned just right. The decor is beautiful with many antiques throughout the restaurant. There is one Tiffany lamp that is worth the trip just to see it. Best of all was the service. Not just the wait staff, but Mr Lane stopped by our table and checked on us. Afterwards, he gave us details about his antiquing adventures. It is one of those hidden gems where it feels like family.

It is grape harvest time. You can pick North Carolina's sweet muscadine grapes, 7 different varieties at this beautiful vineyard.
