We drive thru Wallingford a few times every summer and always stop at Laskara - hoping that it would be as good as the last time we were there. It always is and this recent stop was no exception. All is good here: charming restaurants, very good food, good menu choices, fair prices - and most of all a wonderful staff. From the hostess to the bar tender to the waitress - everyone makes you feel like you’re a welcome guest in their home.

Excellent! Quiet romantic place with wonderful food. The wait staff are amazing and on point. Interesting menu with some unique items. There was something for everyone. Everything was fresh and the portions were huge.

Best restaurant I have EVER eaten at. 20/10, 5 stars, two big thumbs up. The Saganaki was mouth watering, and the service and drinks were fantastic. HIGHLY recommend!

I'll start off by saying what a fabulous experience, from the service to the food, everything was on point. Our party of 10 went primarily to try the Greek specials (and they certainly did not disappoint), but the menu also had a great selection of other options like blackened cod and prime rib. There were also some fun creative specials like fried stuffed grape leaves and a nacho burger. Portions were very generous and no one went home hungry. The server was also over the top accommodating, allowing us to split the bill by couples of which there were 5. Laskara will be on our short list as a place we'll be visiting again!

So amazing good, even accommodated someone with Celiac. Food was to die for delicious!! We had several meals and all were rave worthy!!

My family went on a Wednesday. Four of us had tge lamb and one had the filet. Everything was delicious! Just enough food. The dessert was delicious too! We all got the Crème Brûlée which was outstanding. Just the right size too. Do yourself a favor and go to Laskara’s!

Great food. All extremely fresh. And plenty of leftovers for lunch next day. Service was very good and friendly. Had a great time

Excellent atmosphere and service. Fantastic menu with all the Mediterranean staples. Saganaki and Spanakopita were perfection. Steak and seafood entrees were phenomenal and cooked as requested. Whiskey lovers try their Old Fashioned with the Elijah Craig small batch; or any of their other well selected Bourbons from the bar.

The food wasn't as good and the servings were much smaller. It is too bad the food used to be great.

We had an absolutely lovely evening, starting with Fried calamari and stuff mushrooms, which were excellent. We moved on to the salmon theodore, again excellent. Portion were large and well worth the money. Can't wait to ho back.

Been probably 10 years since I've been here and it was still fantastic. Great service, great prices and great food!

If youre looking for a romantic date night reasonably priced and darling atmosphere come here. We were a little under dressed so dress up!

Fine restaurant. First thing that made this a very nice experience was the staff. Everyone was friendly, polite, helpful and efficient. Place was attractive and clean. Menu was varied. Food was excellent. Spanakopita about the best I’ve ever had. To top it off, prices were reasonable. Portions too big. Felt bad leaving food on my plate, but living these days with moderation.

Always like the uniqueness of this grandfathered location of this restaurant. Which, is set in the middle of a residential area. Service is always efficient and excellent. Food is uniquely prepared and tasty.

I've been going to Laskara for many years. The food is always excellent. The atmosphere is nice. The staff and owner are very nice and friendly. I highly recommend it.

This is the perfect place for a romantic dinner. The menu is limited but what they do have is delicious. It is more on the upscale side but no need to dress in a suit and tie. I really loved the prime rib when I went...excellent! I wouldn't recommend bringing children as it seems to be more suited toward adults looking for a quiet dinner.

Thanks to Melissa for last Saturday night. We came in for Prime Rib & after a moment of confusion, she brought out a beautiful end cut! Our entire meal & evening was fantastic ✌️❣️

Mediocre. Owners need to get out more and see what's out there. Can't get them over a 3. So much potential here. People like the bar. Still meh for us.

Went to Laskara restaurant in Wallingford before show at the Oakdale theater. Both meals were delicious and staff very attentive.

We got a prime rib dinner for take out. We enjoyed it very much. The meat was just the way we wanted it.

We love Laskara! The food is delicious, the service is always fantastic and the drinks are also delicious.

Made reservations for 8 to try their prime rib that they only serve on Friday and Saturday. Reservation was for 7... Out of prime rib!. When you only serve it two days a week you can't be out at 7pm the first night. Ordered something else with a coke. Drank the coke in 2 minutes, was never asked if I wanted a refill for the the rest of the dinner. All that plus fights flys off the table we will never go again.

Love this place. On weekends the prime rib is top notch. Martinis are on point.

Laskara has been our go to place for New Year's Eve dinner for years, along with other occasions throughout the year. We have been lucky also to sit right by the fireplace every time. I love the remodeling they have done, it really has brighten up the place. Food has always been excellent, prime rib is exceptional the most recent visit I had the shrimp/chicken piccata, delicious. The French onion soup was very good. Would highly recommend for a nice dinner in a casual setting with great owners.

Great dinner, food was excellent, service was outstanding. Fireplace was a very nice touch. Can’t wait to go back.

Wonderful locally owned restaurant. Numerous very good dishes, I personally like the lamb, while others enjoy the prime rib, seafood, and other dishes. The decor, atmosphere and the attentive staff (especially the owner) create a nice eating experience. The wines are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Housed in what may once have been a farmhouse in the Connecticut countryside, this restaurant is considerably more spacious than it looks from the outside. Although Laskara styles itself as a "Mediterranean" restaurant the menu is eclectic, with pastas, steak and seafood interspersed among more identifiable Greek and Mediterranean specialties. Many entrees came with a "family style" salad, greens topped with a variety of vegetables and dolmades, Greek stuffed grape leaves, a nice touch. All our entrees that we tried--filet mignon, seafood over linguine, and chicken and shrimp piccata--were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Wine pours were generous, which we appreciated. The desserts were hardly an afterthought. We loved the light and fluffy limoncello cake and the richly flavored baklava. Service was friendly and professional. This was my first time at this place but I would happily return.

This restaurant used to be good went there two days ago and it just was not that good. Seafood was overcooked. My son got sick from the pork swordfish was so good

We got lucky and were able to make a last-minute reservation on a Saturday night—but if you’re planning to come on a Saturday, call ahead! The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more attentive. Everything we ordered was enjoyable; standouts included the mussels, spanakopita, and house-salad dressing (which was out of this world delicious!). We’ll be back next time we’re in town.

Always a great experience. We have been coming here for years, going back as far as when my parents took me here. Now I get to share the same great experience with my kids. Maria and her staff are so friendly and welcoming. You feel like family walking through the door. Our meals were excellent. The shrimp and swordfish special was delicious. I definitely recommend making a trip to Laskara.

Went to Laskara Restaurant in Wallingford for birthday dinner and found it to be the best restaurant, food and service I experienced in a long time. Truly exceptional! Our waiter, Patrick, was amazing. Appetizers so delicious. Moussaka, Spanokopita, fish and chips were out of this world. It made for a memorable experience - highly recommend!!

Most recently went on Christmas Eve so not the best time to rate as it was very crowded and they lost our reservation. The food and drinks were good, the service was decent and nice especially since they were understaffed. Try on a regular day and I'm sure it will be 5 stars instead.

Pleasant atmosphere and find is always good

Ambiance was nice. We shared stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer which was very tasty. I ordered the shrimp & scallop pasta with fra diavolo sauce it was delicious! The service was prompt and our waiter ( Zachary) was very attentive. We needed to change one of our orders and it was well after it was ordered (it had meat & my friend didn't realize). The staff was kind and assured it was not a hassle. My friend was pleased with with the replaced meal. The meal was worth the cost. The establishment was clean, comfortable and there was plenty of parking. There is a bar so it is possible to just come for a drink. I'm looking forward to returning.

Spectacular!! From the company to the food to the servers it just seemed like a magical night. And the best part was I got to pull tails off shrimp & get very messy fingers & needing many napkins to mop up afterwards but loved every minute of it!!

September 28 2020 we had dinner for my parent's 60th wedding anniversary. If I'd known that was the last dinner out as a family before my Dad died I would have tipped our server 50%. The food, service and unparalleled memories were fantastic. The decor was bland, but nothing else was. Laskara kills Mediterranean food and they serve it with a real smile. 👍

His other restaurant Zobra’s since closed, Made the greatest pizza ever. I wished this place had sold pizza like that. Any places similar to his would be greatly appreciated!

Everything about this place is absolutely amazing and I am ashamed to say I have lived down the street for almost 4yrs now and have not eaten there until recently. We baptized our daughter January 2021 and were looking for a resturant to host our family of 20 for a COVID friendly dinner following. I CANNOT say how happy I was that someone suggested Laskara. Maria, the manager, was quick to respond to my inquiry and walked me through what the resturant was doing/ precautions for COVID and also helped me navigate a menu that everyone could choose from as buffet dinner was not COVID friendly. Maria was also able to accomodate the resturant opening earlier than normal, 3hrs to be exact, to ensure we were the only ones in resturant as I was super anxious to bring our little one out anywhere. The day came, of course we got 5 inches of snow within two hours, but everything went on without a problem. Staff was ready for us when we arrived they had already started to plow and shovel patchs for us to get in and the area set up for us was perfect. The food was amazing and the portions were insane. I cant say enough about how awesome everything was. The servers were quick to tend to everyone's needs and no one waited any period of time for anything. The entire staff was personable and welcoming. When it came time to leave staff even helped us shovel paths and cars out as it continued to snow during our event, this was huge as we had elderly grandparents/ great grandparents in attendance. I know i've used the word perfect already but it really was the perfect choice. Can't thank them enough!

Food and service was impeccable. They made you feel like family. Very attentive staff. We will be back again and again. We had rack of lamb & prime rib. Both excellent choices. Apps we had French Onion soup to die for and Mussels with a sauce that is 2nd to none.

Me and my fiancé were out of town visiting the area and our bed and breakfast recommended this place for dinner. Needless to say we were BLOWN away by the amazing service. We were constantly checked on, everything came out in a great time manner, and had a very pleasant experience with the waitress as well as staff. As far as the food, my fiancé ordered the eggplant Parmesan which was one of the BEST eggplant parmesan’s we have ever had. All in all we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend the food and atmosphere of this restaurant !!

This place is absolutely awesome! First time for us. We had dinner with another couple who raved about this restaurant! Now we see why! Drinks great, appetizer was delicious. Food great. Service was excellent & so friendly!! I would’ve gotten dessert but I was just too full lol. We will definitely 100% be back! Sooner than later I might add! To anyone reading this, you gotta check this place out! You’ll be happy you did!

Nice atmosphere, good drinks, great food! We had expresso martinis to start, shrimp cocktail app, filet mignon entree and peanut butter pie desert. Everything was delicious, highly recommend!!

The prime rib on Friday is great

We hadn’t been to Laskara’s for months - due to the corona virus - and they were closed for several months. They recently opened back up. And made all the necessary changes - to keep ppl safe - so my friend and I said- we haven’t been out in months - let’s go to Laskara’s for early dinner. It was so great to be there and see the owners and staff. They missed us - as much as we missed them. We will be back again next month for sure. I had the chicken princess dinner with seafood stuffing and veggies and rice // and my friend had the chicken feta dinner with vegetables mushrooms and rice. Both were huge portions and we took home 1/2 - for lunch tomorrow. And we each had salad- it was delicious as usual. If you are in the area. Give Laskara’s a try. We love to support our local businesses in Wallingford. And they are at the top of our list! Missed not being able to go these past months due to covid 19 pandemic

I ate in this restaurant many times and I always sat at the bar,meal was excellent and the bartender,Marie, was the fastest I have ever seen.She is pronably the best bartender that i have ever seen. Fast and more than capable of handling the entire bar. My son was a bartender and he was amazed how fast and accurate with any drink.

Had the shrimp cocktail. Man was I surprised at the size of these shrimp tails!!!

I went with a few friends and we sat at the bar,the bartender was so nice and helpful.none of us knew what we wanted and she helped us decide,oh my the fried oysters were terrific.we had the lamb and prime rib both were so delicious.its great that a salad comes with the meal ,we had rice pudding and a triple layer cake..yumm yumm we.ll be back.....mw

Ventured here for Mediterranean food for the first time over the weekend after reading positive reviews and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Went here on a date and we had oysters on the half shell, the lobster bisque, Prime rib and I had chicken piccatta and shrimp. Our waiter, Patrick, was amazing and still spoke to us at the table long after we paid our bill. The food was delicious and you can tell this is a very family-oriented restaurant. Lobster bisque was fresh with large lobster chunks and not overly creamy. The prime rib was a huge portion and was on special that night. I am pretty sure there is not a bad dish there and I will definitely return.

Great food, atmosphere, and service

I was date night with my wife last night and wanted to be different. It has been years since we have been here so decided it would be nice to return. Place is very much the same as was the food, but overall very good. Service was also very good. Only problem was parking and we had to park in a side gravel lot. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Had a couple of friends stop by for a visit before Xmas day to exchange gifts So being I had a Groupon for Laskara’s- I suggested we go have dinner / they said sure they had not been there before. It was nice seeing everyone- the owner Waitstaff- and Debbie-my favorite waitress /hostess ! We enjoyed all the decorations- and atmosphere. Restaurant was busy - but we were served promptly. I had the stuffed chicken princess/ my friends had shrimp-scallops fra diavlo and moussaka. And we each had a glass of wine and enjoyed our salads. I always enjoy going to Laskara’s- and bringing different friends - they have always enjoyed it! Portions are good- prices are reasonable and everyone is always so pleasant! Merry Christmas to all at Laskara’s and We will see you again In the New Year!

I really enjoyed my meal as well as most of my family. I ordered penne ala vodka with chicken and man was it a big dish!! Left overs for days!!

Great service, nice ambience. Calamari app was excellent, straight up with side of very good marinara, no jalapenos. Crispy, light, not at all oily. Nothing exciting about the bread basket. Family style salad was enjoyable. We each liked our respective entrees (Salmon Theodore and Chicken Feta). Leftover chicken to take home, in a metal container, so couldn't go right in the mw to reheat, maybe you can request a different container? Indulgent mandarin orange chocolate dessert was the perfect ending.

Laskara means "safe or smooth harbor" in Greek....and the restaurant by that name offers a pleasant and unhurried eating experience with good Greek and Mediterranean food. A real winner is the saganaki, baked Greek cheese with olive oil and pita bread served table side en flambe. Our waitress had been there since the restuarant opened in 1999 and was really a delight.

Went for my birthday and was great food, great service, and ended with a complimentary desert! Price is reasonable for sure, especially Thursday night which is ladies night 👍
