My wife and I went to Lee & Rick’s for birthday dinner..…and man were we disappointed. I swear the Google reviews (4.5 stars of 5.0) seemed like they were for a different restaurant. We are big fans of dive bars and restaurants, especially ones with great reviews for staff, food, and ambience. The staff was great and ambience was as advertised and what we expected. Other than the hush puppies, the food we next level bad. Admittedly, we did not have oysters because I have a hard time paying $20+ per dozen at a restaurant when they’re half that from Lombardi’s. I got the fried seafood platter: the clam strips were over-cooked but edible, the shrimp was the best part of the platter, the single chicken finger sized strip of fish was mostly frozen inside, the crab cakes were hamburger patty shaped and just tasted strange. Seemed like none of it was locally sourced, made, produced. The coleslaw tasted like the same stuff from Publix, which is good stuff but not what I expected from a 4.5 star rated restaurant. Finally the fries, soggy and limp. My wife got the fried fish dinner. The size of the fish filet was pretty good. Taste wise, something mass produced from mass distributor…nothing special. The fish at Bull & Bush and St Andrew’s is significantly better. Same as above re: coleslaw and fries. The oysters must be exceptional because the other menu items were meh at best. We will not be going back…and my wife will be skeptical of agreeing to my birthday dinner going forward.

We came in the restaurant really excited to try their food since we traveled here for vacation. When we first went in the restaurants all the staffs seemed really sweet and helped me out except the stubby old lady with white hair at the cashier. She started being extremely rude and throwing hella attitude. I’m a paying customer and will always tip big, I simply asked a little question and she couldn’t even answer without an attitude. This is my first time coming here and it will be my last. I also heard some snickering from the other staff members later on. Def would not recommend coming here.

This place is fantastic! They shuck the oysters right in front of you when you eat at the bar. The employees were delightful and made the whole experience a lot of fun for us. This reminds me of a fish place in the town I grew up in. I was told about this place by Atlas Obscura and I'm so glad they recommended it. 10/10 would visit again.

I recently visited Rick's Lees Oysters and had a great experience overall. The service was excellent—staff were attentive and friendly. The food was even better; the oysters were fresh and delicious. However, one thing I didn't enjoy was the lack of entertainment options. They don’t have radios or TVs, so if you want music, you have to pay for the jukebox yourself. It would be nice if they provided some background music or other entertainment options. Other than that, it’s a fantastic place to enjoy a good meal.

Lee & Rick's Oyster Bar is the kind of place that feels like stepping into a time capsule, where the past meets the present in a gritty, yet charming embrace. From the outside, the weathered clapboard siding gives the place an unassuming, almost forgotten appearance, much like an old dive bar from the 60s or 70s. It’s the kind of spot you might stumble upon while listening to Charlie Daniels' "Uneasy Rider," where the wear and tear are part of the allure. Inside, the atmosphere is as straightforward and authentic as it gets. There's no valet parking, no fancy frills—just an honest-to-goodness joint where fresh oysters are shucked right in front of you, and cold beer flows freely. The bar, worn with age and memories, feels like a relic from a bygone era, and that's exactly what gives Lee & Rick's its charm. It's a place where the grit and grime of decades have settled into a comfortable groove, creating an ambiance that's hard to find anywhere else. The oysters are undeniably fresh, and they’re the main reason people keep coming back. Beyond that, the menu is what you'd expect—nothing fancy, just solid, standard seafood fare that pairs perfectly with the laid-back vibe. It's the kind of place where you can kick back, relax, and soak in the nostalgia of an old-school Florida dive, with a cold beer in one hand and an oyster in the other. The clientele is as varied as the memories etched into the walls—locals, tourists, and everyone in between, all looking for that authentic, no-nonsense experience. If you’re in the mood for a bit of nostalgia, a taste of the old days, and some seriously fresh oysters, Lee & Rick’s is the place to be. It’s a dive in the best sense of the word, where the grit is part of the charm, and the beer and oysters are always cold.

I see the great reviews.....but, the food was just ok, the restaurant was gritty to say the least and the toilet was really not acceptable. This is an old place ....if you like the nostalgia, maybe for you. In my case, the food was just ok, making the trip not worth it for me. YMMV. The service was great however.

WHAT A DUMP! I was soooo disappointed. After reading how good everything was here I drove an hour to visit. Man this place gives rustic a bad name, with an ambiance akin to an unfinished basement. I confess I didn't have the oysters... but ya gotta ask, "What price oysters?" The bread service was a package of stale saltines! I kid you not. All the other food (clam strips, shrimp, alaskan king crab, fries, etc,) came right outta a frozen package. And all the sauces were out of a #10 can. Can't anybody cook in this place? The wine offering was chardonnay or white zin (no brands). Speaking of cooking, both the crab and the clam strips were well overcooked. The waiter wasn't any good, but he was nice and he tried hard. But the place smells like fish-- and the bathrooms!!!! Sorry... this place looked liked a place where homeless people go to enjoy their oysters. Avoid at all costs.

As the Talking Heads said "same as it ever was"! I've been going here for more than 20 years. I give the service and the atmosphere 4 stars because it is for the type of place you are going to. Some "foodies" may complain yet as you'll learn, Lee and Rick's has been open for 50+ years and in that same building. No frills. More like a dive bar than a simple family restaurant. You can only get buckets of oysters at the oyster bar and seating can be limited. I always go there for buckets and realize that sometimes I may have to wait at busy times for a spot. There is plenty of table seating and there are options other than oysters but that's their bread and butter. The shuckers at the bar are always hit or miss personality wise yet good at what they do. All of that is understandable because they are doing their job. Tip accordingly for the service and more for great attitudes and conversations while you eat if it's quiet enough to hear yourself talk at night on the weekends. Keep in mind that a bucket of oysters is $40. With 2 or 3 people you're looking at about $90+ for two buckets and non-alcoholic beverages. On average we eat 2 to 3 buckets yet I've been there with three people and only had 2. The restaurant is never gouging you. Traditionally it will be the lowest price in town for oysters which are at market price. If 2 people are there to eat other options the price would be well under $90+.

Been going to lay rig for a while now. I always get a quarter bushel or a half a bushel. Today I paid $95 for a half a bushel and got the equivalent of a quarter of a bushel. When I questioned the manager she swore that was a half a bushel… I asked her to pour in the buckets. She told me it should be two full buckets. It was two buckets 3/4 of the way full. When I asked her to make it right. She reluctantly told one of her employees to add more oysters to my order. I will not be going back… and I do not recommend this place. Lombardi’s will be my place of choice from now on even if it takes a little longer to get there.

I had never heard of it, but when I got to exploring the website, I learned all about its rich history and how ingrained it was to the local community. Well, finding diamonds in the rough like this really get me excited, I was ready! We pull up, see this shanty town looking shack, and my excitement turns up to 11. I always negatively correlate appearance to quality of food. Fancy places make be suspicious, but places like this, I know there's good food within. So anyway, we go inside and see a dining reminiscent of the inside of a tugboat. Dark and nautical and a bar lined with ice and oysters. Very cool. We take our seat in a nearby booth, and start checking out the menu. I got some sweet tea to sip on while I browsed, and boy it was sweeeet. So be forewarned. Also, after we ordered, we got a whole sleeve of saltine crackers to munch on, which was very nice. Very Olive Garden and Red Lobster-like. It also went well with our entrees. I ordered the Steamed Seafood Platter (Shrimp, snow crab, mussels, crawfish, clams, corn & potatoes). I had been craving a seafood boil for a longgg time, so I jumped on the opportunity. It was a very good seafood boil for the Orlando area. Everything was a little overcooked and a tad big rubbery, but the seasoning was on point. I also got the chance to eat some of the Seafood Combination Platter (Fried shrimp, clam strips, krab cakes and fish. Captain size portions served with French Fries and ). In terms of seafood platters, this one was a much better example of a fried sampler. Everything was crispy and not oily or anything. Amazing shrimps. Definitely need that coleslaw to help break up all that heavy fried. Overall, this place has all the bravado of being a local legend, and I'm so glad that's been able to stay open after all these decades. I had a good time, I had a good meal, and I'm glad I came.
