I recently dined at Luna Rossa Italian Restaurant, and it was a superb experience. The staff were exceptionally professional and warm, contributing to the inviting atmosphere. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, making it a pleasure to spend time there. The food was outstanding, with each dish prepared to perfection, and the wine selection complemented the meal beautifully. The highlight of the evening was the dessert—an incredibly tasty tiramisu that was the perfect end to a fantastic meal. I highly recommend Luna Rossa for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.

Food was delicious! Staff was nice but sure looked like they didn't want to be there at all 😆 The chatter can get pretty loud inside with the building's acoustics, and the outdoor patio is dirty and smells of dog waste.

Didn’t like much the place’s atmosphere, a change or upgrade on the lights could help on that. Good service and good food. To me, one pizza is enough for two people. Cold beer and great wine selection.

I didn't actually dine in; I just went to get a couple of wines for my mom. The hostess was very unprofessional. When I informed her that I was there just to buy a couple of wines, she literally went "ugh" and made a face, right in front of me! I didn't address it because I understand that people have bad days, but at the same time, this is also an inappropriate way to act towards paying customers. If I wasn’t set on getting the wines, I would’ve walked right back out. Why is it so absurd to want to buy wine at a winery?

I went in to purchase a bottle of wine, which seemed to upset the hostess as she rolled her eyes in front of all of us. As far as I know it is a winery that sells pizza! I’m not sure why she had a problem with the fact that we went in for wine. Very upsetting, even more so that I did not speak to a manager on site. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because the bartender was amazing! If hostess does not like her job she needs to look for something else, perhaps a remote job because she was extremely rude!

This was our first time to Luna Rossa. We sat on the outside patio, which was a nice vibe with the live music. We ordered a glass of Sangria and also a beer. (No liquor is served at this restaurant) The Sangria was good but definitely not worth the $9 per glass. We also ordered 2 pizzas. One with pepperoni, cheese, and green chile and the other with sausage, cheese, and green chile. These were some of the best pizzas we have had here in Las Cruces. It's a wood fired pizza, so it's a thin crust, but it's so delicious! Service was slacking badly! At the end of our meal, there were horrible bugs (flying ants maybe?) that made us end our time there shorter than we wanted because they were just invading the whole space. Maybe it was only from the rain ? We will be back for the pizza, though, for sure!

Great local restaurant, close to two RV parks! Pizza is wood fired, and Monday's special is a medium , 1 topping for 8.95! We also enjoyed the house salad and carrot cake! The cake was moist and tasty! We had sangria and alien ale, also. Great atmosphere and excellent prices!

The outside of the building reminded me of some older buildings like the Alamo, which I like. The inside was also very nice. The Gelato was a sensation. That leads me to the best part, the Americana pizza was very good with an exquisite taste for a good price too. The place fed 3 people for a $60 and none of us could even finish the meal. (By that I mean it was a lot of high quality food for a budget friendly price. The other atmosphere and service was very good but not the best I’ve seen. The food alone gives this a 5 star though.

Very good place to eat. Italian menu and so far have enjoyed everything. Pizzas are thin crust and very good. Servers are excellent.

Called this place to order dinner. They kept me on the line forever, so I decided to try them again. Nope! Phone was off the hook next half hour. I finally gave up and ordered from some place who values their customers more.

What a surprise! This is a hidden gem. The wine I tasted was spectacular, the Sangiovese and blend “Mini” all made at their winery. The restaurant was packed but everything was served on time. You will be fortunate to spend some time tasting their delicious wines and enjoying well prepared pizzas.

Good place to chat and spend a nice time, drink some wine, and get a stone oven pizza. Macarroni was ok, 3 cheese pasta and salmon were great. Nutella pizza needed more time at the oven if it's always like that. I can't recommend it.

This place is ok. Not horrible, but not great. The pasta is always very bland. I got the salmon pasta. The salmon was cooked well and flavorful. Not overcooked or dry. The pizza is ok. Wood fired. The wine is horrible! All of it had a very odd pickled or vinegary flavor to it. Overall there are other places in town that I prefer over this one.

I've eaten at Luna Rossa before BUT this was the worst and it was so bad I won't be back! The waiter was so scarce that I'm surprise he was the one who brought us our food. We had to ask another waiter to get us our check and while we were paying, our waiter walked pass our table and never said a word to us. The calzone was burnt and the pasta and clams description said a creamy white wine sauce but it looked and tasted like the water from when they cooked the pasta. On the way home my husband and I decided to call and talk to the manager about it and he (Michael) was worse then the nonattentive waiter and horrible food, he could careless. He asked no questions he didn't want any information to figure out who the waiter was, all he said was that we should have asked for him while we were there.

I am thrilled to find some genuinely good pasta dishes in Las Cruces. Add a nice wine or beer, and the evening is very pleasant here.

Went to Luna Rossa on a recent Wednesday evening. The restaurant was about 75% full at 6:30. The waiters seemed very busy so the bartender took care of us. I had a Margherita Pizza ($14) and my wife had a Messicana Panini ($14). Both were very good. We also had a bottle of their Tempranillo wine. ($25) The wine was good but nothing exceptional. The service was slow since our waiter also had to take care of the bar. However, overall it was a good experience. We would go back again

Pizza, wine, and gelato… can’t ask for anything better! A must stop any time I pass thru Las Cruces. Phenomenal- the Messicana and Americana pizza is a definite go to. No particular wine is a favorite of mine, they’re all great and reflect the flavors on the label. The staff is amazing and the atmosphere is Italy in the desert. Perfect for dine-in or take-out. Today there were 25+ Porsches and Ferraris in the parking lot to take a look at. Just a great place right off of I-10!

** First Timer Review** Excellent. Wonderful setting calm and peaceful. Great selections of wine. Pizza was cooked one the spot, and came to the table ready to eat. And after the $10 wine sampler, yes $10, you’re definitely ready to chow down. 10/10 definitely recommend.

Best pizza in town with an incredible staff!

Pros: dog friendly patio Cons: food was meh, service was friendly but slow wine flight was nice to be able to find a wine we liked. bruschetta - toppings were out of fridge cold and nothing drizzled on it, so dry and tasteless lasagne tasted like chef boyardee salmon and pasta was was boring. “cream sauce” was like mac and cheese sauce house salad was okay. balsamic was too acidic. wish we just tried the pizza. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Amazing. Delicious. The bruschetta was amazing and I don't like tomatos. These pizza snobs gave the pizza twp thumbs up. And the gelato was the perfect finish to a fabulous meal. The Moscato was a bit sweet but still very good.

Came to Las Cruces for a vacation. This stop was well worth the bill and that was cheaper than expected. A must go if in the area!!!

First time here and pizza was ok you can taste is made in a brick oven and cheese es good but some of the ingredients doesn't taste so good, like salami have a strong pork flavor, the spaghetti doesn't have flavor, some salads are missing the flavor or something for the price of the food I was expecting a little real Italian flavor...

Stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. Friendly staff, great service and we had a very good meal. My wife got the salmon salad and it was a very nice piece of salmon, cooked perfectly. I had a pizza and the salad and found it to be very tasty. Thanks!

Atmosphere, service, prices and flavor ALL exceptional. I'm pretty sure there are magic elves in the kitchen making the Panini sandwiches. I swear they're the best I've ever had (to include Europe!). Service was great, to include a visit to the table by the owner. This was our third visit, first two same time a year ago. Consistently awesome. Drove an hour out of our way to stop in for lunch. EASILY WORTH THE TRIP!! Do yourself a favor, eat here. Order the Panini.

We’re always on the hunt for delicious wood-fired pizza and Luna Rossa did not disappoint! My son is a Margherita pizza “expert” and he raved about his. The Insalata Paolo was full of delicious toppings and served far more than just 2 of us. I had the Quattro Stagioni as I’m a sucker for artichokes. It was delicious! The crusts were just perfect! Had their Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio and enjoyed both. Shared some very tasty gelato for dessert. All in all, a very satisfying night out!

I came with a large group of girls about 10 of us for lunch. I wanted something light and the first thing that I ordered was not available then I ordered the cheese platter and I told them I was gluten-free, so could they replace the bread with something else like crackers, after everyone was served, I had not been served. I reminded my waitress of what I ordered. She brought out a plate with four handfuls of white cubes of cheese. It looked Pathetic she also brought out fresh toasted bread, but I’m gluten-free I asked if there was something else that could replace the bread and she said no do you have olives or pizza crust or fruit pepper Cheaneys nuts anything to make it look more appetizing no everyone in my party agreed it looked awful. Needless to say I ate a few pieces and then asked for it to go box, it all fit in the smallest to go box and my bill at the table was the highest when broken down per person. Mine was $22 for the cheese and a glass of lemonade. I was very disappointed. I have cheese at my house. Would anyone like to come and join me?🫤

We had an awesome Caprese salad and shared a pizza and lasagna. No room for dessert and one box to go! The wine flight hit the spot!

If you are ever in Las Cruces... make a point to eat at this wonderful place! We had a calazone, wine, chocolate covered cannoli & Bilberry Gelato. Everything was made fresh in house. Oh my taste buds are so happy! 😋

We ordered the Luna Rossa pizza, asking them to leave the capers and artichokes off because we ordered this one other time and the pizza came with an overwhelming vinegar taste because those items are from a jar (pickled). This time the pizza has a better flavor, but still there was a hint of vinegar in the taste. We decided the green and red peppers must also be from a jar. I have been to Italy various times and I know prosciutto when I taste it, it has a salty taste, I think the meat on this pizza was ham, not prosciutto. Otherwise, this was a good pizza, not a great pizza. Service and ambience was fine

Every year we drive from Virginia to Scottsdale to spend the holidays with family. We specifically go out of our way to stop in Las Cruces to have pizza a Luna Rossa. It is our favorite pizza place in the whole country and we actually have sampled pizza in all 50 states. I can state from personal experience that we start talking about the stop (both ways) at Luna Rossa weeks in advance of the trip. Not only is the pizza great, but the wine is really good, too.

The portions are smaller and the price is higher. The food still ok. Not a fancy place.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch on Sunday, and it was Amazing! The pasta and drinks were superb, as was the Gelato! Gabe was super cool, as our waiter!

Sigh. This was our first visit there and it was disappointing, unfortunately. Enough so that I will take the time to write this out. The pizzas were standard but the service was slow and there are things they should work on. It took 30 minutes to get a seat despite being told it would be 15 and an hour to get our food, during which I could see our pizzas sit for 15-20 minutes (!) while we waited for my salad (?). The pizzas were fine but the ingredients were oddly clumped on all three; you had to sit there and rearrange with your fork to spread the sausage, green chile, or other toppings out. The weirdest thing was the sauteed chicken breast salad. What came out was chunks of chicken like you'd have on a fajita, along with sauteed peppers, then some regular salad mix and some shredded carrots. Not worth being the highest priced item we ordered that night. Finally, I really hope they fix their bathrooms. The men's bathroom had a cleaning log that was ignored and completely unfilled out, and the bathroom looked messy like that would imply, and the faucet hardware was loose. It felt like a hole in the wall type of bathroom, not a place you'd take a date. The waitress acknowledged the wait but never asked about our food or otherwise checked on us. We did get $5 off the meal but that didn't seem like much considering it was two hours from when we arrived until when we left.

Pizza is amazing but the gelato is sooo good! Always a great meal!

I LOVE Luna Rossa! The dining room does get a little cramped during peak dinner time, so we try to avoid that time of day. Their food and wine is so good though.

Food was delicious, wines and beers are excellent as well, it was my second visit and the 2 of them were great, this time we went last Saturday, I took some family that was visiting from Mexico, and they loved it as well, we had a large table with kids, and Marissa, the server, did a great job and we felt so welcomed, she took GREAT care of us. Thank you very much!

Dinner rush on Saturday night. Service was great despite the crowd. Once seated we did have to share our server so went without a glass of water for a bit, but other servers picked up the slack eventually getting us our drinks. Food is fantastic. Atmosphere was very family oriented, had live music out in the patio for those in a romantic date. Highly recommend this place. Will definitely come again

This is authentic Northern Italian cooking. Being of Italian descent myself, and very fussy when it comes to recipes, Luna Rossa won't disappoint. We had the Pasta Al Pollo, and it was smothered in one of the best white gravy (sauce), we had ever tasted! Mange Bene!

Great service. I am personally not so fond of mushrooms, but I found this pizza yummy. I bought two bottles of wine to go. I'll be back to try the gelato.

The pizza was disappointing. The dough was very soggy. I’ve never had soggy wood fired pizza before so it was a huge bummer. The atmosphere is wonderful. We sat outside under the shade and enjoyed the sun and live music. The wine was great. We ordered the Sangria and definitely recommend if you like a sweet red. The salmon pasta was amazing. I can’t wait until our next trip to Cruces so I can order it again. Good gelato too!

Fun fact: Luna Rossa is the largest grape grower in New Mexico with over 200 acres of vineyards. They grow all of the varietals they offer on their menu and the types of grapes are extensive. I would think that having so much variety seems like a hard thing to do well. But I do have to admit, I enjoyed a number of the wines! Things I loved: they offer “bambino” sizes of their pizzas and pastas which gives you so many options to choose from for the kiddos. The wine selection does not disappoint. The pizza. Oh. Em. Geeee. So so good. Try the Bianca and add the green chilies. To die for. Where they can do better: I would have appreciated learning more about these wines through the servers. It’s more of a choose a flight and here you go. Also the bathroom situation is tough; there are single stalls that are gender specific. They should make these non-gender specific so the ladies don’t always have a long line. If you’re feeling wine and pizza, this is your place!

I wanted to like this pizza I really did but the crust was soggy as play dough. Straight out of the oven they placed a hot pizza on a cold glass plate umm condensation anyone? Dining in if your pizza has this much flop closed the doors. The cannoli was great, I’d have complained to management but when they are already discounting the pizza to $8.95 because it’s Monday I think they already know the poor quality

We were tucked back by the kitchen, so in a high traffic area, but didn't have a wait to be seated on a Friday night. I enjoyed my pizza. My daughter indicated the pasta primavera was bland, and she's not usually one for significant spices or extra salt and pepper.

Tried this restaurant for the first time and we were impressed. I had the spicy sausage pizza with added mushrooms and my husband had the New Mexican which had green chile and prosciutto on a gluten free crust. They also offer gluten free pasta. We tried a few wines and bought a few bottles to take home. The service was friendly and proficient. We would definitely come back to this restaurant/winery.

We hadn’t been to to Luna Rossa in years. I thought it would be nice to have a bottle of wine and some pizza with family. While the server was pleasant, she would disappear for long periods. Long story short, it took over and hour to actually get a bottle of wine (I eventually had to go to the bar to order it) and the food was delivered before we were given wine. The pizza was average with all three different pizzas tasting almost identical. Two of the pasta orders were good, but the pasta with muscles was bland and watery. They did give us a 10% discount on the entire bill, so we were grateful for that. The facility is nice, but we really expected much more.

I really don't like bad reviews but wasn't to happy with my experience today no one attended us very very hungry and we were only 3 people to attend, manager did apologize but walked out hopefully next time will be better if there is a next time 😔😔😔we were looking forward to the Awesome 🍕

An extremely discriminative establishment. Was waiting for 40mins and still was not served. POC should rethink before stopping in for a quick bite. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!

The food was AMAZING. My only complaint was that the menu was extremely hard to read. A lot of it (mostly the titles) was in Italian which made it very hard to understand. I eventually was able to figure out what I wanted to order but it took a long time because of that. Besides that the food was delicious and the service was great.

We were passing through town and decided to try this based on a local referral. Was a little intimidated by the authenticity because we usually get Papa Murphy’s 😂, but was pleasantly surprised! We didn’t actually order any of the pizzas on the menu, but rather, we special ordered a Hawaiian. Light on the toppings, but based on our trip to Naples, Italy, decided that’s how pizza is usually done and accepted the first bite. We ate those pizzas so fast! Flavor was incredible and I loved the texture and flavor of the crust. I’ve never had anything like it. Service wasn’t too shabby either. Our server was very nice and helpful. Wouldn’t hesitate to return if I’m in town again.

This is my place of Serenity. My safe place away from home. I come here often to relax and do my thing. Service has always been great and food…..delizioso! Gelato and Sangria 🍷🍨 Live music was extra nice, tonight! Never disappoints

Best pizza in the Juarez, El Paso, and Cruces area. The owner brings his recipe, ingredients, and technique straight from Italy. The pizza gets done in a traditional stone wood burning oven he also had shipped from his homeland. Great ingredients paired with Deming, NM local wine. Makes this place a true jewel in our area.

This is our favorite restaurant in Las Cruses. Wonderful food. Everything is delicious, pizza, italian dishes, salads, wine of course, and the desserts - Yummy. Have been there many times and it is always great. Owners and staff are terrific.

We drove 13 hours today, and were looking forward to have a meal and try some good wine here!! We were so excited, when we finally got there. We stood around for a while and finally were greeted by the hostess, who informed us they stopped taking customers at 8pm. I checked my watch, it was 8:04 which I also shared with her. Additionally I explained that we’ve been waiting around for at least 5min. I politely asked for an exception. The hostess shrugged her shoulders. My husband said “we just drove for 13 hours and were hoping to get a meal”… She smiled and shrugged her shoulders again, and said they stopped taking customers at 8:00pm! We also had two pre-teen kids with us who were more than exhausted from the trip. We were so disappointed, and left!! Well we drove 0.6 miles to the winery down the street who were more than happy to seat us and allowed us to have meal!! I used this as a great 1st example for my kids!! When they don’t want our business, we take it elsewhere! We are out of state and just passing through, perhaps you don’t need to worry if we ever return! But if you’re in the hospitality/restaurant business, you should train your employees to not turn people with similar circumstances away!! (We spent $200 at the other location!)

Nothing less than outstanding. Outside courtyard reminds one of bistros in Europe. Fabulous staff, and the best Italian food in the area, great wines! Highly recommended.

Omgosh what a breath of first air. We planned to eat at Les Combes ,unfortunately the bartender service was awful. So we decided to try Luna Rosa across the street. Let me tell you , it was such a great experience. The wait staff the food was amazing!!!!! So highly recommend La Luna Rosa.

This was our first time here. And it didn't disappoint. The pizzas were amazing. Wish we had taken pictures, but we were eager to try everything.

They were overwhelmed with graduation groups the day we had lunch there. Despite it all, we had pretty decent service. Strange at a winery, you have to ask for the wine and beer list! The wine is alright, my companion enjoyed a novel pecan beer. The pizza would have been very, very good had it had another minute or two in the oven. The crust was very undercooked and white. I think it would be worth it go when they aren't rushed and trying to do too much.

We arrived at 6:00pm and waited almost an hour to be seated. After taking our order, we waited another 40 minutes to be seved. My pasta was cold and my friend’s pasta lacked flavor. We were disappointed.

The margarita pizza was excellent! Wine averages $9 a cup, nothing to write home about. Panini was a bit thick for my liking and decent flavor. Gelato was yummy. Bruschetta helps us over until the food got there. The service was excellent 👌 When we come back it will likely be for pizza and gelato.

Went there on a whim just to try a new place. It was absolutely delicious. I started with dessert and had a chocolate-covered cannoli. Then, I had the antipasto misto plate. The seared bell peppers were my favorite there. Finally, I had the Diavola pizza and added a few additional toppings. My wife had the carbonara. Again, absolutely delicious. The service was also excellent; both friendly and professional. Will definitely return.
