Just stopped in for a quick drink after a walk in the area on our way to EWR for our flight home to Spain. Would like to return for a meal sometime as the food looked great 😃

Out of this world food. Atmosphere was relaxing. Service was out standing and friendly. Prices very reasonable. Servings were large. If you leave hungry it's your own fault. Traveled 2.5 hours to try this place and it was worth it!.

I’ve eaten here two times. The ladies behind the bar are extremely friendly and attentive. The meals are tasty with generous portions. I’m not a huge fan of French fries, but these are so good and taste homemade! The salad was delicious and the garlic pork chops were excellent. My friend had grilled salmon and enjoyed it. The prices are affordable and they even have a $4 glass of house wine that they fill to the rim; you can’t beat it! My only complaint is that it is extremely warm in there. Other than that, I highly recommend.

I ordered fish... but... this fish smells and tastes like nothing grate. The waitress was very nice and took my complaint... but the cooker acts like he knows everything. But how can he know if the fish is grate or worse... him isn't eating it was me. It was disgusting. They charged me and just laughed.

Walked in on a monday early evening and the bar staff was really quick and attentive. I was hopingng more simple and varied fish options, but settled on the swordfish to avoid walking aimlessly through town in search of this. The fish wasnt bad, but it wasnt grilled (as per the menu), it was done on the griddle (fried-ish?), which was disappointing. to their credit, it was simply made and not overdone/overseasoned. I chose rice/beans instead of veggies and the black beans were okay..but the rice 🤮 (what is it with the ironbound and parboiled rice vs fresh steamed rice?!?!) . The toral bill was not bad when i thought of it. If it wasnt for the awesome service I'd give it less stars. Other things on the menu could be tastier, so poke around. i would pay top dollar for fresh, fluffy, steamed rice anywhere in the ironbound 😂

Best Fried Calamari n Sangria Blanca in Newark

This was a favorite place for me, I loved the food, I even had my daughter's baby shower there a few years ago and everything was very good, but I went there for a week with my husband and the attention was terrible, we ordered a large pitcher of sangria and we were They brought a drink, then we told the waitress that it was a jug and they brought us a small one, she never understood, the food was terrible, my husband ordered a picana and they brought him another type of meat, anyway, I'm never going to go back 🙅

It was the first time I was there and the food was excellent but the only problem I had was the fact the waitress was very disrespectful to me when I asked if the food had any lactose products because I am lactose intolerance and she replied to me saying the bathroom is right there.

The codfish was amazing! The best fish I have ever had. The desert was also amazing . I will definitely come back here another time and highly recommend this restaurant.

Always great food. Staff shows all effort, especially if Spanish is not your strength. The bread is amazing. Calamari were hot and fresh, and the sauce is better than at most restaurants. Vegetables are cooked well. Shish kebabs of shrimp, pork, chorizo and steak is big and tasty. The sangria is very good, red or white.

The Girls are great at service and attentive. the food is as good as always and hasn't changed in ages. .. i usually stop in for lunch or to grab a quick creamy espresso before hitting the road again.

Simple place to get some great food.

This place brought childhood memories, of eating in the many family-owned restaurants that Portuguese and Spanish immigrants opened in my own country (Venezuela). The food, the service, the decoration and ambient of Madrid & Lisbon will undoubtedly make you feel happy, welcome, and very full. Paula's service was great, and I wish the chef a long and happy life because the food was incredible. Come here, you won't regret it.

This is our 5th time coming here and they don't disappoint they give you well served dishes that you have lecturers to take home what's to take home the food is delicious and the wingstaff is great. If you're in New Jersey stop by you won't be disappointed.

I have been coming here for many years. This time we sat at the bar, and had octopus and monkfish/clam rice casserole. Service at the bar was friendly and quite attentive with several waitresses keeping an eye if we needed anything. Hopefully you speak Portuguese or Spanish though... The octopus with onions, peppers and potatoes is better than most, and a well known favorite here, when available. The monkfish as a little salty/soupy, and could have been balanced by more rice or less salt. Overall I like this restaurant, and it is a good value.

He estado viniendo aquí por muchos años. Esta vez nos sentamos en el bar, y tenía una cazuela de pulpo y arroz con rape / rape. El servicio en el bar era amable y bastante atento con varias camareras manteniendo un ojo si necesitábamos algo. Afortunadamente hablas portugués o español. . . El pulpo con cebollas, pimientos y patatas es mejor que la mayoría, y un favorito conocido aquí, cuando esté disponible. El rape es un poco salado / espeso, y podría haberse equilibrado con más arroz o menos sal. En general, me gusta este restaurante, y tiene una buena relación calidad-precio.
