Not sure if it’s a hidden gem but it’s a gem. Slightly tucked away from the road spot with excellent smoked and bbq meats coupled with Atlantic brewing company make for a great stop for any meal. I got the sampler which included the ribs, pulled pork, chicken, sausage, and a bunch of sides - it was a really good value and an excellent way to try it all. The beers were so good - we stopped back to grab some to bring back for our beer connoisseur friends back home.

The location is very hidden, but it's definitely worth looking for. Dishes were incredibly tasty, portions perfect for meat lovers (large), drinks super tasty (cooperation with brewery right next door), service super accommodating. Simply perfect. 😍😍

Good BBQ, craft beers, and friendly staff. The only complaint was someone next door riding their little motor bike up and down their driveway.

Don't expect haut cusine. But if you want solid BBQ and a good selection of local microbrews, this is your place on MDI. An old favorite!

Awesome vibe, great band yesterday evening, portions are great for the price, food was excellent though we both didn’t care for the potato salad and wished there was mac and cheese on the menu. Servers were all just okay as they kept forgetting things requested (had to ask more than once for a to-go container, silverware, etc.) My boyfriend enjoyed his beer. We’ll definitely recommend!!

Awesome BBQ, service was quick and friendly. We dined outside which was nice.

The meats were excellently prepared, with the exception of the chicken thigh. The sausage was delicious, and our server recommended to pair it with the beer mustard, however, the mustard and their other sauce (which just tasted like buffalo sauce) did not reach expectations. The meat far exceeded expectations however, and was more than enjoyable. Their classic sauce pairs best with everything served. The potato salad unfortunately may have been the most disappointing, as I felt it was extremely bland. I circumvented this issue by applying the classic sauce to it, which made it much more palatable. I would certainly recommend this place to others.

Great bbq! We had the wings and brisket sandwich. Both were delicious! It was a very rainy day and crowded inside, but the workers did a great job accommodating everyone. You can also grab a drink next door at the tap house while waiting to be seated.

Good food & drinks, great atmosphere, slow service. We highly recommend the smoked wings - crispy outside, but falling off the bone. The texture of the meat was done very well - fall off the bone ribs, tender brisket - but the only smoke flavor came from the phenomenal red sauce on the table. (There's also a tangy mustard-based sauce.) The baked beans were another highlight - sweet, savory and a little spicy. Potato salad and coleslaw were great too. The cornbread was super dry. There were some great drink options. The blueberry margarita, root beer and blueberry soda were the favorites, and of course, the Atlantic Brewing company beer flight. We went on a summer weekday for dinner. Not sure if they were understaffed that night, but we waited almost half an hour for someone to take our order.

Pleasant place to get BBQ meats and a variety of good beers. Can eat inside or out and they are dog and kid friendly.

This restaurant and brewery was so cool! It was in a beautiful location, outside (under an awning and umbrellas), surrounded by trees. Then the food...it was SO good! We all loved the smoked meats, BBQ sauce, and cornbread. Bonus, they are very dog friendly and had water and treats for our pup. We'll be back! 😉

Great place, very well located in MDI on you r way in or out, food and beers are fine, ambiance is nice with sometimes music and there is a playground for children!

This was a great find! We had a dog with us so we sat outside. It was a foggy, drizzly day but they had umbrellas and we actually sat under the gazebo. The menu looked great but we only ordered a full rack of ribs off the appetizer menu, beers and a margarita. Oh and a 4oz hamburger patty for the dog 😊 The girls that took care of us were awesome! I just loved the atmosphere of this place, and the drive down their driveway, it's like a hidden secret. Y'all should check it out.

Tasted some of the most incredible beers and brisket. Their blueberry soda is delicious made in a margarita. Must stop on your way to Acadia in the summer!

Our vacation is not complete without stopping here. The barbeque is soooo delicious and the food servers friendly. And the fact that it's gluten free and dog friendly ... Can't beat it!

What a great place a brewery and BBQ restaurant in the one.

Visiting Arcadia national park and this place offered the variety needed in the area. I had lobster / seafood for a few meals in a row and this was the much needed break from that. I personally got the sampler as I couldn’t make a solid decision. I recommend 100% - the staff was phenomenal and I will return if I’m in the area again

Tough to give this place anything less than 5 stars. The grounds and facilities are well kept and beautiful. The food is excellent and reasonably priced and the service is super friendly and kind. They even brought water and dof biscuits for our dog.

I was pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon this restaurant. The food was great, the price was reasonable, and there was live music. I had the sampler. The portion size of each of the meats was much bigger than expected. The chicken had a great smoky flavor. The sausage was delicious. The baby back ribs were so tender and full of flavor. They were my favorite. The pulled pork was good but lacked some flavor. There were two BBQ sauces, one was a spicy vinegar sauce that had great flavor, the other was more of a traditional sweet BBQ sauce. Both were delicious. It's also attached to a brewery so they had a great drink selection.

This spot has been the surprise of the trip. Not only did Maine Meats had great BBQ, but the local Atlantic Brewing Ales and seasonal craft cocktails hit the spot as well. The sampler was more food than I could eat, but everything was smokey, tasty, and had a hint of jalapeno. The winner was the baked beans (my wife may have stolen mine... still working through it). The Cuban hit the spot as well.

Came here based on the high reviews on Google maps. Outstanding in every way. Katie and Arielle were fast and friendly servers who were the icing on the cake! If you get the super sampler, you will likely have a whole nother meal to take home with you. Fair pricing, generous portions and high-quality barbecue, and that’s coming from a Southern boy. We will be back a few more times before it’s time to leave town.

I had a waitress named Morgan. She ruined the whole experience for me and my family. She was rude and acted like us being there was an inconvenience. We are locals and gone multiple times. It’s good bbq. But when you have someone that treats you so poorly it ruins the whole experience. I wouldn’t chance it. Go somewhere else. Or if you see this awful fat blonde go the other ways

WOW! Had eaten here during the summer and it was good, but came back a week ago and enjoyed absolutely OUTSTANDING BQ. Don't know what they did in the kitchen or smoker, but keep it up!

We were there on a busy Sunday (annual belt sander races). The food was good, but the menu is more limited than their other location on Rt. 3. The service was very slow, but again, it was a busy day. What they call indoor seating is primarily an area under a roof and partial walls. Seating is at long picnic tables with others sitting with you. Parking is very limited, at least for the crowd that was there (many parking along the shoulder of a narrow road). We liked their other location much better.

Food was dry and chewy. The only thing that had flavor was the sauce. Service was great. Don't overcook the meat.

Can’t say that we’d recommend this place. It certainly wasn’t bad, but some reviews saying this is the best bbq ever may have had too many beers first. We prefer smoky bbq flavors and did not get that with the pulled pork or the brisket. The blueberry soda is delicious though!

Friendly people! The cornbread and beans were top shelf!!! BBQ was great! Mix the 2 for the sweetest spiciest BBQ. It hit the spot!!! To top it off we got a ROOT BEER float. Mmmmmm!

This is off the beaten path. It's a brewery with a small resturaunt. The pulled pork was good. Husband did not like the ribs as well as other resturaunts. Corn bread delicious. Took home beer.

AWESOME antidote to too much lobster! I had the "Sampler" and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. I wish I had taken a picture, but after humoring her hankering for lobster for one meal too many... well I'm sure you understand. I ordered the Mountain Hopper IPA and my wife had the Blueberry Ale. We bought souvenir four-packs to bring home. This place was a home run.

I have been stopping there for years every time I go to Maine. The owners and the bartenders and the waitresses are fantastic. I always try a different beer, and just about everything on the menu. Love the place!

The sampler for 2 plate was definitely enough for 2-3 ppl. There were jalapeños in everything...beans, corn bread ,,, a little much for me personally.

We loved it here! As tourists, we seek out interesting and well rated food joints, and Mainley Meat didn't disappoint. We had a wonderful, friendly server. Food came out very quickly and was delicious. Would like to have tried the dessert, but we were far too full. Plenty of parking, but come early...it gets packed.

This is unequivocally one of the best meals I've ever eaten in my entire life, and one of the tastiest bbq joints I've ever had the pleasure of being in. I spent a bunch of time in the south and can be picky about barbecue, but every single aspect of this meal was actually perfect. The beans were a spicy sweet delight. The cornbread was the texture of the smallest, softest cloud. The pulled pork was tender and expertly seasoned, and the combined sweet and hot sauces took it to another level, perhaps another plane. I def felt like I left my body for a moment midway through my meal. My friend got the sampler, and everything was excellent. The ribs were the other major highlight for me. Do yourself a favor and finish with a blueberry float. Maybe I'm overselling this spot with this review, but honestly not by much. You should eat here.

The sampler was the dish to try... ribs, pulled pork, chicken thigh, sausage, corn bread, beans, and slaw. Delicious. It should be noted that to try a flight of beers you have to go into the brewery building. It cannot accompany your meal. But they do serve their many beer options.

After living in Georgia for 20 years, I’m always a bit skeptical about BBQ in areas not “known” for BBQ (in no way trying to knock Maine, just think of Carolinas, TX, GA/AL for BBQ). This place is legit. Ribs, Brisket and Pulled Pork on point. Rub is really good, but not typical TX/Carolina/Southern based. Mix the homemade sauces together.

Had brisket dinner with the sides. Large portion of tender brisket at a very reasonable price. Excellent flavor and their bbq sauce made it even better. Highly recommend.

Great location to sit outside, have some BBQ, sample (and just drink) some beer while the kids hand out in the little playground. Love that the playground was fenced in so the 4yo can't run off

Food was spot on, the brisket sandwich was a delight. What made it better was washing it down with a Cole Porter.

BBQ done to perfection. It doesn't matter what you order it's all on point and delicious. The beer selection is mostly low ibu ales with some ipa's. The beer is as tasty as the BBQ. Waitresses were very professional and nice. Atmosphere was cool with cool signs on the walls

So first time trying this place. Saw it had pretty good reviews, but id say this is not a winner. -I got the brisket sandwich. I don't think I've had dry brisket before :( It was dry, tough, and didn't have a smoke flavor but burned flavor that wasn't good. I also never had a brisket sandwich with just meat and bread....there's usually sauce or something. The sandwich had side options: beans chips or coleslaw. I got the chips which were fine but my bf got the beans and said it tasted like bush beans with seeded jalapeños in it. I've had good bbq but this does not make the list.

Good beer. Great atmosphere with a playground for kids. The BBQ was underwhelming (we have high standards coming from North Carolina). In terms of service they appeared understaffed for the volume of customers

Some of the best barbecue I've had in the country. Most places only do one specific type of BBQ well but Mainely Meat does EVERYTHING well. The Max plate is our go to and feeds our family of 5 easily. The service is always fast and on point despite being busy (but never busy enough that we need to wait). There's nothing bad on the menu and the beers from Atlantic Brewing Co are as fresh as it gets. The seating area that Mainely Meats shares with Atlantic brewing is really nice to eat at on a summer night. I can't recommend this place enough, it's always our first stop when coming to Maine. Definitely worth the trip.

Rude waitstaff. We didn’t like the taste of our ice tea so we asked for lemonade instead. We then tried to flag down our waitress but she completely ignored us. Midway through a different waitress waited on us the rest of the time and they were not friendly. We even had to get up and ask someone to come over to our table to help us. Overall would not recommend.

Loved this place.. when youre in maine and lobster just wont do .nice backyard laid back feel Dog friendly also.. they even brought water for the dog. Now the dog will only eat their pulled pork at meals..ugh

A charming BBQ, with delicious food next to a fantastic brewery. They are two separate businesses but the proximity creates a fantastic combination. The whole vibe of the place gave off good time! Fantastic food, will be going again when I return to the area!

Fellow hikers tipped us off to this place and we were so glad they did. We figured it had to be good since these folks said they were mostly vegetarian but that the ribs were the best. We got the four person platter and it was incredible. Not pictured is the potato salad. More than enough for four people. We loved the ribs!

I ate the following: Pulled Pork Dinner Ribs The meat is cooked exquisitely, especially on the ribs, where it falls off the bones. They were also kind servers. Unfortunately, I found the sauce options fairly limited, and the sauce they did have was not particularly sharp on flavor. Furthermore, I found their sides (cornbread, coleslaw, potato salad, and coleslaw) to all be rather flavorless.

Great space, good beers, great service, very dog friendly. The meat was delicious and it was the most reasonably priced meal I've had during my whole trip. Superb value and wonderful evening.

The food was absolutely magnificent!

The food was amazing. We got the corn ribs, sampler platter, and added an extra 1/2 rack of ribs. The ribs were so tender and fell right off the bone. We also tried out the lobster roll and were very satisfied.

Pulled pork quesadilla is to die for. The atmosphere is really cool as well.

Less than an hour before close and they are slammed. They were just wrapping up a rough shift clearly. Our food took a little bit and we needed our wings refire because a couple wings stuck together on the grill but there was never a major issue that wasn't addressed. Great work from the team service side and the food was great.

Cool local take! The sampler was perfect for getting a taste of the different bbq'd meat. Live music was awesome. The potato salad and coleslaw were average. But, the delicious meat canceled that out! My husband enjoyed sampling some of Atlantic Brewing's beers. The tasting room and store were next door. We took home a 4 pack! I had a very tastey blueberry mamosa.

Great barbecue food in a quaint outdoor beer garden setting. Our family all enjoyed the pulled pork platter with beans. The pork was extremely tender and the sauce (on the side) was very tasty. Be sure to order a side of the tasty corn bread which is available as a side by request (not on menu as it is made fresh and tends to run out). They have all Atlantic beers on tap, as well as the bottled root beer and blueberry soda available. Great stop for lunch!
