Yes…believe all the reviews. We were in The campground and walked here after hiking in Acadia. Great Q!!! That coming from a Texan that transferred to the east coast. Huge portion sizes and my dog loved their special menu. 8 oz of hamburger with a treat….looked more like a pound to me. Highly recommend.

Stopped here midday through a very long day of hiking in Acadia. Plenty of outdoor seating to accommodate us and our dog Phantom. I got the pulled pork sampler and my husband got the ribs. A direct quote - “These are the best ribs I have ever had in my life.” They had a doggy menu (great idea!) so Phantom had some bacon just for him. Very generous portions, everything was super flavorful, and service was excellent. Thank you Caya (sp?) for your hospitality. Very affordable!

Lynn K was the absolute best server. She is hilarious and makes the dining experience so fun. Food was good, but the service was the best part!

Awesome breakfast. Amazing bacon. They don't do breakfast since then pandemic. Had dinner tonight. It was amazing! Had pulled pork, chicken, and ribs! Great French fries also. Server was great, rest of staff was very friendly and helpful! Highly recommend you give this place a chance. Prices are cheaper than places in town also!

We were able to celebrate my husband 70th birthday at mainly meet. everyone in our party was delighted with the quality of the food and the vast menu selection. They were extremely accommodating and the outside patio was perfect for a summer evening. If you are in the area this is a place to put on the top of your list for delicious food high quality service and just a chill fun night. Thank you Mainly Meat .

Wanted to try something away from Bar harbor. This place did not disappoint! Tried the sampler for 20 bucks. The live music was a bonus for a Monday!

Ordered a rack of ribs, 1 lb of pulled pork, and a side of coleslaw. We had to wait for a table on a Sunday night in August.

Affordable prices, generous portions, and most importantly, delicious food! Highly recommended! We stayed in Acadia Park for a week and had our meals here for half of that time. Also, the ice cream shop next door is great - it's perfect to have an ice cream after enjoying the BBQ. And! Parking is much easier than downtown!

The best rack of ribs we have ever eaten. The burgers are thick and well made. Great french fries. We liked everything we ordered and the service was great! The place is nice, either indoor or outdoor. I do recommend.

Someone in our party had severe dietary restrictions so she brought her own food. 5 others in the party would be eating from the menu. Despite the majority of the party being able to order from the menu they refused to let us eat there because 1 person had their own food. So disappointing. We didn't want to force 1 person to eat in the car while the rest of us ate there so we left. This was during the slow time so there was a ton of seating inside and out. If it was during the fast time we would be more understanding. I would give 0 stars if i could. Just updating on what the owner replied. We didn't bring 2 huge trays of "Mexican" food. You never even saw what was inside the tray. It was literally a tray with salad with the ingredients separated into 3 seprate containers that were small. They separated the ingredients because they didn't want the dressing / croutons to get soggy. Just because some of us were Mexican doesn't mean we brought Mexican food. Amazing assumption though. 😑 We didn't even get a chance to order because you didn't even give us a chance to explain. Also no, we didn't get 1 menu. Everyone else had a menu. The lady who sat us grabbed 6 menus when we walked in and placed them down on the table where we were going to sit. We were all planning on getting food there except that 1 person. We didn't get to order drinks because the first thing that was said to us was that we couldn't bring outside food in. It was "We don't allow outside food in. " The lady who grabbed the 6 menus was a young blonde and the lady who said No outside food was a dark haired lady. And when i said "Despite us being able to order from the menu" it is expressed as "We are able to order from the menu because we dont have restrictions" not as "We placed an order and were then told no"

We played mini golf across the street and grabbed a bite to eat here. We all got the pulled pork sandwich, fries or/and beans, pretzels, and a couple of mixed drinks. Food was fantastic. Ate until we were stuffed. We were surprised to find such yummy bbq in Maine. The first drink wasn’t great though- but we totally fixed it and mixed it with some ginger ale. The blueberry tea adult beverage was delicious though. And there’s ice cream next door if you really want to explode. We were smart and went back to mini golf another round and then came back. No photos because we were busy stuffing our faces. The only negative was the waiter totally forgot some of the food we ordered so we just canceled it and moved on with what we did get. It was delicious so we took a roll with it attitude and enjoyed ourselves very much.

Stopped in on a Wednesday just past noon. No wait for a great table in the shade on the patio. Our server, Baldo, added to our enjoyment with his attentiveness and positive attitude. We ordered the Max Plate to share with 4 people and we still had leftovers to feed two more people later. We added a side of Mac and cheese too. It’s worth mentioning the corn bread is very moist and not listed on the menu, but is included also. All the meat items were perfectly cooked, moist and tasty! Ribs fall off the bone! The sides were equally delightful and delicious. The drinks were generous in size. We had a glorious time and highly recommend it.

I am from the South - this was top notch BBQ - and very dog friendly

We thought this restaurant was just going to kind of be a fill the void type place since most places to eat in the area are lobster pounds. We were wrong! My husband and I ordered a sample platter and every single meat on it was incredible! I don't think I've ever had ribs that good. Sides were also great! Prices were extremely reasonable! Definitely recommend!

Good food, great drinks, excellent service. We ate in the outside patio area, which was lovely. They even have dog friendly seating and a special dog menu!

Do NOT pass by this spot. AMAZING food, LOW prices. If you are a little tired of seafood during your trip to Acadia and want to switch it up, please I’M BEGGING you need to stop here. Place is dog friendly, they had live music which was not so loud as to disrupt dinner conversation, and an overall great atmosphere. I would literally drive 7 hours to go here again for BBQ. The pulled pork was quite succulent and like nothing I’ve ever tasted before.

Clean, friendly, amazing food. BBQ style and will not disappoint. Next door to Utterly Heaven for a deadly combo of BBQ and ice cream. If you don't leave in a food-coma you did not enjoy what they had to offer! A definite must stop!

Sample platter was awesome, all 4 of the meats were nice and juicy, blueberry cider delicious and the outside patio bartender was really nice and efficient ! Great live music, too ! I may have also overheard the owners are great, hardworking people, taking barely any days off ! You guys are killing it !

The food here was delicious. The Ribs melted off the bone. The Pulled Pork was very tasty. The restaurant atmosphere and menu descriptions were entertaining. Our server Balbo was very friendly and checked on our table when needed. Thank you.

I’m by no means a BBQ connoisseur, but this was some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had. It took me a while to realize that it was because they don’t drench everything in BBQ sauce. We got the sampler and I liked everything. The chicken thighs were a little small, but that’s just cause I wanted more. The ribs and pulled pork were great and I liked that the sausage was a bit spicy. The sauce they give you on the side was awesome. I mixed the BBQ sauce with the hot sauce. The egg/potato salad was not my cup of tea, but I liked the coleslaw and the baked beans were good (especially with the hot sauce added). The price of the meal was a good deal and two couples ate it over two days.

Great stop. We were in the Bar Harbor area and I wish I could eat selfish. The Lobster pound was across the street from where we were staying. The bar tender Kelly was super sweet and guided us to the best down town spots. I’ve had bbq across the country and I have to tell you, this was very good.

This place is sloppy. Grungy tables. The ribs were decent, and the sides were just a heaping pile of mess. Baked beans were cold, skins on the potato salad, which seems lazy to me, and about a cup and a half of coleslaw. All piled onto a plate. None of the dishes were ever taken away. Messy. I understand that there were a lot of patrons - - that doesn't have to mean that pride goes out the window. Used to be a little bit nicer, hopefully they'll take some of the reviews constructively.

It was average BBQ….the smoked turkey was top notch though.

First all of the online menu is incorrect, years old they told me. Our 20 min to go order turned into just over an hour. Server announced that mine (and anothers) order would be out with the manager in a couple minutes. That turned to almost another 10 mins...and no manager. We asked...is the manager coming...server said, why, do you need a manager. Both of us said yes...I asked for some sort of comp...something... Teenager went to get manager, and came back with no, not today. WTH. Other guy was displeased as well. Also, all of the side dishes were not good at all. Mac and cheese dry and not a lot of flavor. The chicken was good though. Would not recommend mostly because of the ... nah not today reply and bland sides. See Richards review below mine here...he was the other guy.

I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with mashed potatoes at the counter to go. That's all. Literally nothing else from the kitchen, and both the mashed potatoes and the pulled pork are presumably scoopable (ready and waiting, scoop and server). I was given 25 minutes ETA (which is absurd for the order--but I wasn't given the ETA or any indication that there would be such a wait until after I paid). Then I spent the next 50 minutes waiting. Then, finally, a sandwich. In fairness to the restaurant, I've overheard they're down one cook. But the operation is clearly extremely badly managed if this is what it takes to serve up just one sandwich to an on site and waiting order, even down one cook. Embarrassing and way over par for the food service industry, especially so near a tourist town like Bar Harbor. If you value your time, better avoid the risk represented by the lack of contingency this place practices. Also the mashed potatoes were cold (as in refrigerated temperature). They were probably put in the box first thing, right when the order came in, then sat there for near an hour before being served to me. Again a miss here. Finally, the pickle. Mind you I ordered a sandwich. The sandwich was placed on a bed of tinfoil, set in a to go box. It came with a pickle, as sandwiches sometimes do. Except the pickle was placed on the tinfoil too, right up against the bread of the sandwich. This caused the bread alongside the pickle to get soggy as it absorbed the liquid from the pickle. (These sandwiches are served on buttered, toasted bread. Just bread. Not a bun. Thus sogginess compromises the structural integrity of the bread leading to the dreaded Fragile Sandwich Syndrome.) It's a tragedy if I ever saw one since the solution here is dead simple: place the pickle *outside* the tinfoil. Genuinely this feels like a waste of time and money. And to add insult to injury, not a peep from management about the inexcusable wait.

Food came out crazy fast. Pulled pork was amazing. Service was excellent. A great place to take the family.

Good place right along the road for a quick bite. The ribs were outstanding. Pulled turkey and white barbecue sauce was a hit. Kids menu is limited, but our child ate an 8oz burger no problem. Smoked spicy margarita was good, just kind of like a regular margarita but more expensive. Definitely finish with ice cream from next door. Food came out fast, fresh and hot.

If you are looking for old time acadia hospitality this is the place. Great food, even better people and reasonable prices. Get there early for the music. Also has puppy menu for those dining on the patio. It’s what bar harbor used to be. Then hop next door for some amazing ice cream.

Overall great bbq place! The portions big so bring your appetite. Some of the best cornbread I've ever had. Meat was tender and moist. Staff was nice, would visit again.

We loved our recent visit to Mainely Meat. Really nice welcome and great wait staff. We had a sampler and enjoyed our time there. Highly recommend especially if you want an alternative to the lobster roll.

I would go here every night if I could. You cannot beat the value of this barbecue. The ribs were tender and juicy. Pulled pork, sausage, and chicken were cooked to perfection. Add in a great selection of beer, and you have a wonderful restaurant. 10/10 recommend coming here and skipping eating in town.

Not to be dramatic but these are the best ribs I’ve ever had. We stumbled upon here by accident cause we wanted to try the ice cream spot next door and then smelled it and obvi needed to order food for dinner. We got the max, the summer salad, and some wings. The pulled pork was just ok, but would kill for some ribs. Fall off the bone tender and juicy with delicious bbq sauce. The chicken thighs and wings were very tasty and juicy too. All the sides were perfect. The salad was a huge hit (steak was a bit chewy, but worked well within the salad). So happy we found this place and would def recommend.

Stopped in once we realized a lot of the restaurants were closed by 7! BBQ was great and my husband enjoyed his bar island iced tea and clam chowder! Definitely recommend

We were next store for ice cream and then decided to get BBQ for dinner because it was next store and some of us were lobstered out over the last few days. We got the sampler with chicken, ribs, sausages and pulled pork with an order of wings and clan chowder. Ribs and sausages were outstanding. All others were very good. Strong sides of beans, slaws and potato salad. And really priced right. The cheapest meal so far in the Acadia area. A great surprise find.

Literally went to dinner here tonight. And we had the best experience ever. Sat down outside because we always travel with our dog. It was about 7p and we were sat immediately. Our server Katie came over and brought us water and our dog a water bowl, right away. We placed our order of chicken wings, 1/2 rack of ribs with French fries, and full rack of ribs with macaroni and cheese. After we ordered, Katie said “would you like to order something from our dog menu?” We were so surprised, but so excited and happy! Of course we got our pup a hamburger. She made sure to tell us it’s 5oz of unseasoned burger meat chopped up hot into a dog bowl. We were so excited for our girl! To drink we ordered an Atlantic blueberry beer and a blueberry lemonade. The lemonade was sweet but tasted so good. When our appetizer of the chicken wings came out, we had a choice of ranch or blue cheese for dipping. We chose both. The wings come with 8 wings, 4 flats, 4 drums. Let me tell you that saying these chicken wings were out of this world was an understatement. They were the best chicken wings I’ve ever had. They were seasoned well and smoked well. I could eat them all day. We had the ribs. They were also seasoned well and fall off the bone however we thought they could’ve been a tad more juicy, but still absolutely delicious. The macaroni and cheese was tasty, and the French fries are about triple fried making them so good. The ordered automatically comes with cornbread. Our waitress Katie was genuinely nice caring and sweet and considerate. This experience at this restaurant really was the best. We would come back here in a heartbeat on our next trip to Acadia.

The Max Plate and clam chowder was an excellent choice for a group of 6. There was plenty of meat to go around with the ribs being my personal favorite. All of it was delicious! I did takeout but when I went to pick it up the restaurant appeared to also have a lively atmosphere if you are looking to dine in.

Disappointed with what little choices there was on the menu. And disappointed with the flavor of the steak we ordered that had no flavor. This is the second time we have been there and the last time. The time before I ordered a brisket that was so dry and over cooked. (UPDATE) I still haven't been back. Would have been nice for a refund.

I never leave reviews, but this place was so good. The outside is unassuming and to be honest, we came in the parking lot to get ice cream and then saw a barbecue place right next door. We decided to give it a try because we were hungry and WOW it’s some of the best barbecue we’ve ever had. 10/10 would recommend!! A note to the owners: get a bigger sign up front!

Laid back place with friendly staff. The smoked chicken half is great, salad with blueberry and steak was good as well (I would hold the gargonzola next time), and as a bonus, you can get ice cream afterward next door! Affordable also, which is nice since a week in Bar Harbor tends to almost break the bank.

THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! everything tasted incredible and had its own flavor. They don't use the same seasonings for every meat. Their ribs are the best in my opinion! we will definitely be eating here again!

We ate here twice during our 4 day trip, it is easily the best food on the island at what I think is a fair price. We literally ran down the side of Mt Sargent in Acadia (1194 ft) to make sure we got here before they closed because we lost track of time. The food portions were good as well. I would easily come back if we make another trip to Acadia.

Pretty good, but please stop skimping on the seasoning especially the potato salad. Add a bit of paprika and garlic salt and you are good to go.

The sides were fine but the meats were excellent and an incredible value on the island. The turkey sandwich was absolutely packed full and the pulled pork dinner was delicious. I ate here two days I a row.

This is our first time in the area and coming to this place. We were greeted upon entering and got seated right away. The atmosphere was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The food was really good and portions were a lot. We did not finish and ended up boxing it. Really enjoyed the food. I love that they have a dog menu with a great background story. Would definitely come back.

Drove to this place only to find that they are closed for the season. Unfortunately online said that they were open.

We ate on the patio because we had two dogs with us. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming to us and our dogs. Our waitress, Erika, was delightful and gave us great recommendations for lunch. We got mugs of soup, a sampler of the BBQ and the pulled pork sandwich. We also had a slice of blueberry pie for dessert. The dogs each got the pulled turkey off the menu and everyone was very content. I really enjoyed the sausage and smoked chicken but everything was delicious. Make sure you get the hot sauce!

What a fantastic place! I had the sampler late and it was all delicious. Best bbq in Maine and definitely in my top 5 of the country including Kansas City and Texas! You simply must eat here if you are in the area!!

This was a good experience, nice quiet establishment away from the hustle and bustle of downtown BarHabor with free parking. The pulled pork toasted sandwich and fries were absolutely delicious.

Great meal. The wait staff was exceptionally friendly and struck the perfect balance between attentiveness. I opted for the pulled pork plate accompanied by a generous serving of fries. The pork was incredibly delicious, well seasoned even without any sauce. The portion size was large. The fries were delightfully crisp and fresh. Normally, I would skip dessert, but I couldn't resist when they offered warm apple pie with a side of soft serve. It was a delightful. I'm only here for two days, but I'm already planning to return tomorrow!

We are not seafood fans so this was a great stop on our trip to Mt Desert Island. The service was great and the food was very tasty. We had the sampler, pulled pork, and ribs and they were all delicious. The atmosphere was excellent, with an option to sit outside and the day we were there they had live music. The parking lot can get packed fast and there may be a wait, but I think it's worth it.

Absolutely delicious BBQ! I had a bunch of different plates and everything was very delicious. I'll recommend the corn ribs! We will be back soon to try more.
