Very fresh sushi Quick service & good lunch deals

Amazing sushi! I don't even remember what all we had but we had a whole table of sushi and it was all excellent!

We love the sushi here it is incredible

I want to understand the hype but I just can't. The miso soup was the best part of my meal. Sushi was pretty standard except the tuna and uni. Tuna was sub par nothing terrible but the uni was not fit to serve. Absolutely putrid flavor from it and it had me locked in on the toilet as soon as I got home.

I had the general tso's chicken. It was watery and tasteless. Not the best.

Fantastic sushi and good value for money! Will come back! A little busy place and too some time to get the starters, but worry the waiting time!

I will be back for sure. Emily the host was so nice. Had a great meal, everything very fresh, good portions sizes for the big guy. The rainbow roll is always my go to. Jessica was my waitress and was the best. I guess crushing a Sapporo can with one hand is the thing? Haha good times

I was so happy that I finally had an opportunity to go Maks Asian Kitchen and Sushi and it was a wonderful experience. The service was terrific and the food is outstanding. I can’t complain about anything. I just loved it all!! I thought was unusual is that it’s located in a public shopping center as I expected it would be a freestanding Restaurant , but that’s not a problem. I went with friends on a Thursday and it was packed full of people, but the service was still wonderful. I just want to say thanks because we enjoyed it so much! I would recommend it to everybody. ❤️

Kevin and his team figured it out. They made their space classy, yet informal and cozy. The staff is always moving and engaged. And the food - so fresh. You’ll likely wonder, like I did, what took so long to get there. Going back very soon (maybe tomorrow?).

Best sushi in SWFL tbh. The crispy rice is one of my favorites along with the spicy edamame. All the sushi rolls are so good and everything is made with such attention to detail and always comes out beautifully plated.

Arrived at 7:45 PM Friday night. At least three maybe four hostesses greet you which I never understood that but OK why do you need three? They asked if I had a reservation which I did not and she said 25 to 30 minutes and I looked around And asked how many people were ahead of us and she said just one couple? So they’ll be no tables in 30 minutes? As we waited, I realize she was mistaken. She forgot to mention that there were many people on the list ahead of me that had a reservation, oops. Not only did the people with reservations, of course, jump in front of us as they should, but any party larger than two was seated ahead of us, even though they arrived after us. They would not even sacrifice a table of four for us if somebody else arrived after us and had four people. I could understand that for maybe one table but continuous flow of people coming in and being seated ahead of us because we only had two and they were trying really hard to get us seated at the counter. My wife went to the hostess, and they immediately sat at a table for four. The prices aren’t bad as the specialty rolls are all under $20 but the specialty rolls are very small order the green monster and summer breeze, pretty tasty but falling apart more than usual for sushi. The food was good but nothing to brag about. I’ve actually had much better sushi at other locations, which I won’t mention to be respectful to MAKS. The server was very nice and polite, but only took our order, dropped it off and didn’t return until it was time for the check which at that point she finally refilled my drink. Didn’t check on us once or even ask how the food was when she first dropped it off. Again, very polite and and smiling, which was appreciated. This place is small and therefore very crowded. I would still recommend it. The hot and sour soup and the house salad were excellent. Make a reservation or you’ll have to wait and this is only the summer so I could imagine even more busy during season.

Great ambiance, even though this place was swamped with guests. My wife and I sat at the bar to watch the chefs make magic. The fish was all very fresh, and they know how to make a great roll! She has celiac, and they were super accommodating to make sure she didn't get gluten'd. We had given up on the sushi scene here in Fort Myers till now. It was great to interact with the chefs and joke around. My wife even likes the hot sake, which she normally does not, so great choice! To top it off, we were able to get in without a reservation on a Friday (it is summer, so I can't imagine this place in season). Thanks for the great meal!

I went there with my wife for our anniversary.First thing you notice is the place was packed.Second thing you notice is when you sit down, it is so loud that you can not hear yourself think or talk with the person you are with.The fish we had on our roles were cut so thin you really could not taste it.The spicy edamame was way to salty.We were expecting great ,according to reviews but we only got good.This is a regular shushi place with a limited menue.My opinion !!not any where near one of the top fifty.We will not return here.Two other places in Lee county much much better.Dont waste your time standing in line.

MAKS was recommended long ago and it was definitely worth the trip! The Lobster Roll was mind-blowing! It was pricey, but worth every cent! An absolute must have!

I’ve been to sushi restaurants all over the world and this place wins! The lobster roll (not on menu) was the best I ever had. Equally important was the service which was amazing. We will be back.

Really enjoyed our past couple dinners at Maks - once at a table and once at the sushi bar. Had been hesitant to eat sushi in Ft.Myers, but Maks was recommended by a family member and glad we gave it a try. Location is unimpressive (publix strip mall) and decor is simple, but this place draws a big crowd. Definitely make a reservation! Staff is attentive & knowledgeable. Prices r reasonable. No cocktails - wine/beer/sake only. The wine was good. Sushi seemed fresh. Salmon belly & yellowtail belly were awesome! Salmon belly was probably best we've ever had! Tuna Tataki was sliced extremely thin, but tasty. Rolls were as expected.Offer gf soy sauce option. Also have cooked food for those who aren't into sushi. This is a place we feel like we can trust for sushi and will be back!

First time here after seeing the news special and it was fantastic. Emily was our server and now that she spoiled us we only want her everytime we come back. She was so sweet and helpful. We are definitely coming back.

1st time here and it won't be our last. OMG the best sushi we've had in a looooong time. Sat at the sushi bar and watched the magic happen. The lobster special was out of this world. Like others said.....don't let the strip mall setting scare you!

The best sushi you will EVER eat in your life. They have the FRESHEST tuna. I’ve had fresh tuna right off the fish and it is comparable with Maks. When it comes to sushi they do it right. Customer service is top notch. Everything about Maks is 10/10.

We visited this establishment last night by recommendation and I have to say, it lived up to it. We were attended by Kristen S and she was AMAZING! The service I wish we had everywhere we go. From start to finish, she made sure our drinks weren’t empty and visited our table frequently. The food was phenomenal . I HIGHLY! Recommend this business. 5 ⭐️ food and service. Great Job!

1 of 2 same owner locations I know of in the Bonita Springs Naples area. If you think you've had good sushi or Sashimi before try this place and you will be spoiled. Yes the bluefin tuna is not the least expensive item on the menu but try it and you're welcome in advance

This place is talked up a lot. I fish for a living and I do not believe I ate fresh fishy/ocean here. I could not finish my order out of fish taste. Seems tourists can't tell difference anyhow.

Best sushi in the Ft. Myers area hands down. The owner is great, says hi to every patron. The sushi is fresh, clean, and rotates. The hot and sour soup is great too. They even have silver oak on the menu if you want to splurge!

My favorite sushi place in Fort Myers! All of their food is great. A couple of my favorites are the spicy garlic edamame appetizer and for an entree, the lobster special which is what is in the photo.

Greta ideas, mediocre execution. Our rice was crunchy. Things were overall pretty bland.

My wife and I absolutely LOVE the restaurant MAKS top of the line Asian Kitchen & Sushi. The food is so well done! The service is great, and everyone is so hospitable. It is a family style establishment, and MAKS offers guests the option to sit at a table, the beautiful sushi bar, or at a larger table, accommodating to larger parties. The interior design is gorgeously done-from custom tiles, beautiful wall art, and once again the sushi bar has a very nice, clean and contemporary vibe. The chefs are consistent and precise when creating their culinary art. The food is absolutely delicious. You can’t go wrong, whether ordering a dish from the Asian Kitchen portion of the menu, or the fresh and clean cut sushi menu items. This restaurant business is family owned, and we support the owners wholeheartedly, and have been fully satisfied and happy customers for almost 15 years. Some of our favorite dishes are the “Crispy Rice”, the “PB&J” roll, the yellowtail sashimi, and so much more. I’m actually craving MAKS as I write this, and this very moment decided I’m going to go right now and enjoy it! Gotta go!! Enjoy!

New favourite sushi restaurant in Fort Myers! Was a bit of a wait to get in but the owner ended up chatting with us and assured us we’d get seated and thanked us for our patience. He ended up seating us at sushi bar. It was apparent that many people were regulars as they engaged with staff. We had two different rolls and the pineapple fried rice, which was a delicious blend of seafood and fresh pineapple. We started with spicy tuna Maks crispy rice. It was very good but we loved the PBJ roll even more. We also had Green Monster which was wonderful with the spicy crab salad. Service was excellent and we will definitely be back. Creative rolls, large portions and a great mix of cooked and sushi/sashimi options.

Great server. Lot of larger groups so restaurant was really noisy. As for the sushi… 2 of the rolls were great but the Tiger Crunch tasted like the oil used to fry shrimp was rancid and old. Had a really funky taste. Should have sent it back. Will return but won’t get anything tempura. Also they used to have purple rice as well as brown rice and white. Now only brown and white. I did like the purple rice.

Our first visit! Friendly, personal greeting. The creamy shrimp appetizer was excellent. Highly recommend. Our meals were also very delicious and generous portions. The sushi bar was also excellent. It was quite busy with a lot of customers coming and going.

The sushi was fresh and was very tasty. The server was very friendly. The only drawback is it's in a strip mall.

Hands down one of the best restaurants in Florida (not just Ft Myers). The menu is amazing, the service is next level, and the food is out of bounds! I highly recommend and look forward to eating here each time I visit the area!

Love this place have been coming for years since I moved here. The closest to Japan in gets in ft Myers while also catering to the local demographic. The owner is very nice and makes everyone who eats there feel welcome as well as the regular servers. I do feel like I like the sushi more depending on who makes it but same as going out anywhere else I suppose. The ambiance is great for a dinner with a loved one or even a business meeting lunch. Bathroom has always been well attended too and beautiful. They are almost always busy and I love that for their small booming business but perhaps they might expand soon if they’re able which a southern location would be great. Only other thing I would say that another review has mentioned is the host stand. Sometimes depending on if it’s one of the experienced regular staff or a new employee varies the take out experience.

The owner was an A-hole!! Asked us to move to a smaller table (I had a party of 5) so we said no and he rolled his eyes at us and stared us down while we ate the entire time. Was a super uncomfortable experience. Restaurant is too small and they want to stuff you in like a sardine. Food was okay I’ve had better though. Owners gross attitude is why I won’t be back.

Great neighborhood sushi place. Interesting menu. Clean restaurant. Service staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Host staff could use some polishing, but nothing that would keep me from coming back. Update: really fresh and wonderful salmon tonight.

Great staff - quick and always offering help. Clean establishment. Competitive prices comparable to nearby restaurants. Great sushi - perfect blends of flavors and textures. Gyoza pan fried and Hot & Sour soup were great as well! Would pass on the Chicken Lo Mein - the Lo Mein was good not great but the chicken was extremely bland. It’s like they cooked it without any condiment and just mixed it with the Lo Mein at the end. Every other dish was great and I will come back again to try more.

The sushi was fresh and tasted delicious. Nice atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. May make this my go to at least once a week!

We have always been greeted and treated like friends and family at Maks! Billy is the best! The whole staff make us feel welcome every time we go. We have brought several friends there and they have all loved it.

We absolutely love this place! Whether you dine in or take the food to go it’s absolutely amazing. Not to mention fresh and clean. I grew up in the Florida keys so I’m very picky when it comes to quality of fish. Everything is yummy on the menu (I’ve had every roll) and I love the staff. Jessica is our favorite server and the sushi chefs are the sweetest! Here is a pic of our pick up order this past Monday night. This didn’t include all the apps we got as well. Had to celebrate little brothers first car purchase on his own 🎉

As a native New Yorker, I can say that the sushi and other Japanese entrees are authentic and tastes incredible. The fish fresh. We also had the Mongolian beef which was tender and tasted wonderful. Server was friendly and very patient as we took a while to order. She also kindly split our entrees in half so we could share easily. I believe her name was Alyssa.

Probably one of the best places I have ever been to dine and eat with friends and family. The food is excellent; there was a variety of sushi to eat, as well as soups. The waitress I had was outstanding, welcoming, and kind to me. Overall it was an excellent experience with a great and fun atmosphere.

Bluefin special will knock your socks off! The miso soup has flavor unmatched by any other. The staff is friendly and attentive. Jessica makes us feel like VIP’s , treating us like family and spoiling our kids. Her charisma and jokes make the entire meal fun and entertaining. Worth the wait!

Maks has the BEST sushi in fort Myers. You will not be disappointed. My husband & I have been going to Maks for a while now and will only go if we can sit in Jessica’s section. From the first time we ever sat in her section she has treated us like her family, and we now treat her the same. The owner always stops by the say hi as well. The hosts have come to know us and are always friendly. We feel like family from the second we walk in and that’s the main reason why we return over and over again

MAKS is our absolute favorite restaurant in Fort Myers! We frequent several times per month. Their sushi is so fresh and delish and their atmosphere is wonderful. The owners, chefs, and staff are all so friendly and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers. They always make us feel like family! Stop in for the best sushi around.

I went to Maks last night had a wonderful experience I go multiple times a month the food is always phenomenal the staff is always great it has a very warm and friendly family atmosphere. The owners and staff genuinely care for their customers and want to make sure everybody has a pleasant experience. I cannot recommend them more if you want Sushi in Southwest Florida Maks is where you need to go. I respect everybody's opinion but seeing the review below mine I always have the opposite experience.

As a local resident my husband and I visit Maks about 2-3 times a month. The food has always been delicious and the sushi chefs are always warm and friendly. Our only complaint about Maks is the Asian lady (who might be the owner or relative to the owner) who walks around and speaks roughly to their customers. I think she may need a reminder that her customers are not her family members and she needs to be mindful of her tone when she addresses them. She is rude. The times that we have had interactions with her it’s made us question why we go back and give them our money. But when we go and. She isn’t there it’s a wonderful experience. We just can’t help think if that’s how she treats people she doesn’t know who go to her restaurant and help keep them in business, how does she treat her family and friends. Anyway, if you go to Maks know that the food is good but you might experience a thorn while you’re there.

Didn't even eat. Walked in as "1". They didn't ask me where I wanted to be seated and took me to the last spot at the bar and it was a corner spot. I asked to be seated at one of the many open 2 person tables. Hostess made a snarky comment, "really for one". I told her that was rude and just walked out. Food looked good in pictures, but I worked too hard to earn my money. This hostess should work harder for hers and understand the role of a hostess. 1/25/24 appx 6 pm, Hostess =caucasian female, a little heavier build, likely in her 20s. Mgr should address....

Very busy but was able to get a seat at the sushi bar. Took way too long for a waitress to come over (15m), but glad I waited. Food was excellent. It was a bit loud inside the restaurant since they were so packed.

This is now a popular space in the shopping plaza anchored by Publix. It was very busy on a Saturday night. When Beef O'Bradys occupied this storefront, it was never this busy. The guys at MAKS must be doing something right. We all enjoyed the food. The kids loved the sushi appetizers. The Chinese meals were great. We didn't see any Indian dishes on the menu, despite calling themselves an Asian Kitchen. We loved it so much, we almost forgot "Beef's" was ever here and will be back soon.

Have visited MAKS Asian Kitchen a few times now and absolutely love their food! Great variety of options, especially love their pineapple seafood fried rice! I highly recommend you check this one out in Fort Myers.

AMAZING!! We started with the Tuna Tataki which had such a great flavor 😋 Hubby had General TSOs Chicken and I had the Green Monster and Crunchy Tiger rolls. Both were out of this world! Service was outstanding. One of, if not the BEST sushi places in town.

Everything was perfect!! We had 13 people in our party, including five children. The service was amazing! The food was delicious! Highly recommend the spicy edamame and volcano roll. We will definitely be back.

When I moved to Ft. Myers and asked where the best sushi spot was, I consistently was told Maks. I finally tried it today and it certainly did not disappoint. Will certainly be back and highly recommend. It's not mentioned anywhere I could find, but you can call for reservations.

The food is great but pretty expensive

Excellent food, my highest recommendations go to the Pineapple Seafood Fried Rice and the Rising Salmon roll. Superb service and immaculate atmosphere.
