I ordered 10 dozen pastizzi from Joe for the gathering after my father's funeral. Shipped during record breaking heat to north SF Bay, they arrived still perfectly frozen (and well packed for longterm freezing if you plan to do that) and baked beautifully. The came out golden, flaky and so delicious and reminded us of our Zija's very authentic pastizzi making which we miss . Well worth it and Joe himself such a lovely person to interact with. Gazzi ħufna, Joe!

Had a Malta dog and pastizzi split pea and curry. All was delicious but the almond cookies. Mmmmmm

Most importantly, the Pastizzi were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! They were crispy and not at all greasy. The Pastizis are wonderful, and the Almond Cookies are phenomenal and borderline addicting. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It is easy to oder online and pick up simple and quick.

I am so happy I found Joe and his pastizzi’s. When I arrived Joe came right out of the kitchen to introduce himself and explain all of his goodies. He was so friendly and welcoming. The pastizzi’s come frozen ready to heat up. I got the variety pack so I could try them all.. I don’t think all 12 are going to last me very long.. they are just so tasty I couldn’t stop smiling. The dough is perfect, good amount of filling. Super easy to heat up at home, either in the oven or the air fryer.I’ll be coming back for sure, I would recommend to everyone. Get on the pastizzi train you won’t be disappointed. Thanks joe..😄

We are enjoying our pastizzi multi-pack and Malta dogs very much- yummy & unique texture and flavors. Will be back! A couple suggestions, Joe. One is to include suggestions on what to serve with the pastizzis as accompaniments such as sauces or sides (recipes??). Also, with the variety pack, maybe you could separate the flavors so people can choose what flavor they are in the mood for. I personally wasn’t sure what flavors I was eating since it was my first time to try pastizzi💪😋 Thanks!!

The owner was upbeat and friendly. Gave us a tour of his shop. Bought frozen food to bake at home. Excellent authentic food! We will be back!👍

We only discovered Malta Joes today and what a find indeed! We met Joe at the bakery and he is a very friendly and helpful guy - we thoroughly enjoyed chatting to him. Even though we only got the pastizzi today I have already had a corned beef pastizzi and the split pea and curry pastizzi with the blueberry cheesecake pastizzi to follow up. They were great If I could give more than 5 stars I would. If you live in Tucson do yourself a favour and visit Joe. If you live further afield then order some - Joe evidently ships frozen pastizzi all over the continental US and to HI. A truly great find

Drove from Pasadena to MaltaJoes in Tucson for his bombass pastizzi. Bought 4 coolers worth for us and family because we miss the aunties making them for us. Great pastizzi, even better than the ones the aunties made.

Came across this gem of a place and ordered the almond cookies and they were absolutely fabulous!!! Very fresh and great tasting, just like the cookies my aunt made (maybe even better). These brought back a lot of memories of Malta and family. Service was great and they were able to ship to Texas. Order was packaged well and arrived quickly. The pastizzi were 10/10 approved by my Maltese partner. Joe of Malta Joes was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to ship my order to Seattle. Came within a couple days and were frozen solid. Cooked per package directions and they were flaky on the outside moist and flavorful on the inside. I recommend the ricotta and curried peas.

Malta Joe! 10 out of 10 out of 10!!! Two 10 packs in a week with 0 guilt on this side :) Your products are amazing! My maltese family order them yearly for our Christmas dinner where Nanna has decided that everyone bring a side dish and pastizzi it is and wow did she nail it! Now, I'm bringing them to other families!!!! To see the whoaaaa what are these on the faces of someone who is not Maltese and to know the love and hard work it takes to produce those...thank you! The sweet ricotta, I'd buy IMMEDIATELY if you release as well as the blueberry! You can't go wrong! This year, as we were short some oven space in the kitchen, we popped them into the the airfryer and they were incredible. Honestly, we almost prefer them that way! Thank you so so much for bringing our family back to the old country in the best of ways!!! Happy Holidays!

Absolutely delicious! Malta Joe makes the best pastizzi my husband has had outside of Malta! He's Maltese, so he knows his pastizzi. This man has had a lot of pastizzi over his lifetime. We recently visited Malta where we had the pleasure of eating pastizzi from lots of different places. Our favorite was the pastizzi at Crystal Palace. We were in Malta for about two weeks and I kid you not, my husband had pastizzi every single day, sometimes multiple times a day. Once we were back in the states, he kept craving pastizzi. He told me that growing up in Detroit, his aunt would make delicious pastizzi before she passed away. But he said there were lots of places to get pastizzi in Detroit where you could buy them frozen and bake them at home and that he wished we had that out here in Arizona. So I went online to see if I could find any local places that make pastizzi. In doing so, I came across some great reviews for Malta Joe's Baked Goods, so I thought I'd give him a try. I ordered two dozen pastizzi yesterday and picked them up today. As soon I returned home, my husband asked me to put several in the oven right away so that he could try them. He wasn't going to get his hopes high though because he said that the frozen ones he used to make in Detroit never tasted as good as the ones that were fresh from the bakery. But once I pulled these out of the oven, he took one bite and was really impressed! All I could hear was "Mmmmm...., these are really good!" The crust was light and flaky, the flavors were rich and savory. He was genuinely delighted. Yay! I'm so glad we found Malta Joe's. I have a feeling I will be ordering from him on a regular basis!

On a trip from Florida to California I found Malta Joe's on google maps by accident. Being born in Malta I have to say I was skeptical about finding good pastizzi in the middle of the desert. If your Maltese, this place is the real deal. If not, and your not even sure you can pronounce pastizzi, tell Joe a dozen cheese! He'll know what you mean. You and your family are going to love it enough to start a tradition. Thanks Malta Joe!!

Pastizzi are, without a doubt, my favorite Maltese food. I grew up eating them and look forward to visits back to Michigan where I can enjoy my mom's pastizzi. Malta Joe's pastizzi are legit! And by legit I mean DELISH! I recommend them without reservation.

I’m a New Yorker & with the pandemic, I was craving pastizzi. I saw his Facebook page and saw I can order online and he would ship frozen pastizzi to me all the way from AZ. I was skeptical that they wouldn’t be frozen etc. but the 2 day FedEx they were still frozen. I ordered again another batch and it took 3 days but again, frozen solid. The dry ice was almost gone. The pastizzi are all so delicious. Just as I remember as a kid. You will not be disappointed. They are worth the price. Life is short, enjoy a pastizzi. Thanks Joe. Keep up the great work.

Malta Joe came through for my pandemic-safe wedding in a major way. He was able to ship 5 dozen pastizzi to our Airbnb in California on very short notice to surprise my Maltese family! They arrived in great shape and on time. He even included a personal note. I can't thank him enough for his attitude, his responsiveness, and, of course, his delicious pastizzi!

I am from Malta, yesterday my wife and I went to Heirloom Farmers Market at Rillito Race Track and met Malta Joe, of course we had to try the Pastizzi, Quality! THIS IS THE BEST YOUR GOING TO GET. We are here vacationing, we will be seeing Malta Joe a lot while we are here to buy more then have them shipped home to share to my family. WOW! Just WOW! My husband and I went to the Tucson Hop Shop (our fav!) a few weeks ago and the owner was so kind to let us have a few samples! They were OUTSTANDING! Melt in your mouth deliciousness. The pastry is light and golden brown, so perfect. And the variety We are still craving them! I highly recommend supporting this food truck! His pastizzi's are divine and super easy to eat! I hope to buy more soon.

Being Maltese, Pastizzi were a staple in our home growing up. My mother made outstanding Pastizzi and they were always a part of family gatherings. After she passed my sister continued the tradition and she has done a very fine job. However, she lives in Michigan and I live in Scottsdale, Arizona. So, when I found Malta Joe’s in Tucson, I was very excited! Joe did not disappoint!! His Pastizzi are wonderful! I bought the variety pack, and all were excellent. If you have never had a Maltese Pastizzi they are a must-try and Malta Joe’s are as good as they get. Thank you, Joe!!

Two words: WORTH IT! I've been dreaming of homemade pastizzi's and this truly hit the spot. I can't recommend Malta Joe's enough. I ordered the split pea and curry as well as the ricotta pastizzi's. Both were delicious and I look forward to purchasing more flavors. They provide excellent customer service and even phoned me the day after I placed my order, as I accidentally hit pick-up - and they noticed my address was in CA. Order now.... you won't regret it.

During my two visits to Malta I got hooked on pastizzi. When I found Malta Joe online after my second visit I was delighted. Joe went the extra mile and beyond in helping me with my order and delivery. The pastizzi are as good as any in Malta. Highly recommended, especially the split pea and curry variety.

We just got our first shipment ever of Malta Joe’s pastizzis ! I am a first generation Maltese born and raised in Maryland. I have my mother, who was born in Rabat, Malta to thank for the lingering taste of traditional Maltese food which I crave. Malta Joe (Joe Gauci) does his family proud by carrying on the tradition of baking fresh pastizzis in Tucson, Arizona that taste just like we were in Malta again. Joe and I talked on the phone, and two days later we had pastizzis baking in our own oven— five minutes after they arrived! And the taste is out of this world! It is so worth it to have them shipped to us to enjoy! Tomorrow, we will bake some of the Tucson region flair — Southwest Pastizzis —- can’t wait! Thanks, Joe! One day when this pandemic is over, we will have to make it down to see you (and bring a huge cooler!). But for now, we do see more shipments in our future! Love ‘em!
