I have been going to Caribbean restaurants for sometime. Never felt the need to leave a review because I know how they do business (IYKYK). However, my experience here was by far the worse. The service was terrible. Would it kill to greet the customer? The woman taking my order attitude was very unpleasant. I ordered oxtails with rice and peas and the oxtail had a bitter burnt flavor, the rice was burnt! When I asked to exchange for something different the ladies denied the food was burnt before tasting it but we all know it was. Just a disgrace. My man ordered stew chicken and it was tougher than 2020. The cabbage was uncooked with no seasoning. We tried to eat it but ended up leaving to go else where. I heard good things about this restaurant. I’m not sure if there’s a different cook on Sundays but the reviews are definitely contradicting to my experience.

Rice smell old .was not enough sides and meat just alot of rice that didnt taste too good .

Hidden Gem . My go to is Oxtails but if not curry chicken is always the way to go. 😋❣️

Walked in, started watching tv as the young lady was taking care of previous customers, another young lady walked out and took my order and filled it in less than 5mins. Super polite very informative when I asked about breakfast items. Got home and tore that food down it was sooo good. I will be returning and telling everyone about this place! Thanks again ladies!

Went about 7pm she gave me a menu we sat down then she come over tell us it was only about 5 dinner items we could order? My girl did not get to eat 😔 the choices of food she wanted was not ab available 😞 had oxtails peas rice just did not have that real Jamaican taste to me had a funny off taste the rice seemed a little undercooked I was expecting some cabbage with the banana on the side 😀 I felt a little weird the lady stood at the counter and seemed to watch me eat 😕 as we left my food was in To go containers because I was not eating inside restaurant at first we saw her looking in my containers as if she was seeing if I had ate all my food ? Why not just throw them in the trash ?

Restaurants have the most unique ability to serve the public to satisfaction. I've learned to choose where I eat as it is part of sustaining my body cells. Mama Tea's has been serving the Northwood Village for roughly three (3) years now and the service, meals and atmosphere are all conducive to my health. I think of several wonderful memories of home 🏡 and family, blending with healthy meals each time I enter Mama Tea's. As chefs, it is never going to be easy to please all patrons. But Mama Tea's has been increasing their indoor traffic, daily. That to me means quality meals, service and atmosphere for all persons in need of a good home meal in an environment of healthiness. Don't be fooled by the review honestly I respect my elders but I saw this employee drop a styrofoam cup for my soup order and then she still used it to serve me I still at it I'm not picky I know we all need germs and I know I'm not going to die from a cup falling on the floor at a restaurant which I honestly looks pretty clean the price for two soups two came out to the total of 39 dollars and unfortunately I was disappointed all the ingredients for correct but the thickness of the soup was not there don't make the same go to Ocean breeze their food tastes like my Jamaican grandfather/ grandmother's home cooking

Stumbled upon this gem unexpectedly and let me tell you- RUN, don’t walk!! Do not sleep on this place. It is hands down the best Jamaican food I’ve had. My friends and I ate every single bite of our plate. We ordered the jerk and stew chicken. The chicken was tender and so delicious. They give you a good portion of food. Would highly recommend. If I lived in this area I’d go every chance I had!

I love the red pea stew and curry chicken my absolute favorite I get it every time. Omg 😳 the jerk chicken be snapping too. Very chill atmosphere, loving employees they make you feel right at home. And the prices are reasonable I always have enough food for now and later.

Great environment wonderful service. Had the brown stew fish and pigeon peas was ok. The jerk chicken had way too much sauce and the chicken was dry. Was not an overall bad experience.

Absolutely worth a trip, we got tired of the food on palm beach so we took an Uber over here, highly recommend. Got the patties, jerk chicken and oxtails. Everything was amazing. It’s like someone’s mom cooked this for you. Also the cook/server was incredibly nice 10/10 recommend, great food, great service, great vibes. Stop paying $100 on palm beach and come here

Delicious food, friendly staff, pleasant dining room. I got the jerk chicken and the oxtail since I really wanted both, and both were delicious and perfectly cooked. Also the Caribbean vegetables were very tasty, cooked al dente with just a slight hint of curry, just perfect. Even the plain white rice was tasty, I didn't even put any salt or sauce on it, it didn't need it, it had a very nice flavor. I will definitely be back and will try meat patties and more Jamaican dishes, as this place is the real deal for Jamaican cuisine.

Excellent, Authentic Jamaican Cuisine. Courteous Staff. Clean Dining room.. The food was seasoned to perfection. I have found a really nice restaurant to sit back and eat a good meal. The Outdoor patio was very a cozy and relaxing added feature to this fine little gem in the historic Northwood area. 👍👍
