Always a pleasant experience. Great food, kind service and a friendly environment.

We were disappointed after seeing all of the rave reviews. It could have been bad timing, and I think they were short of staff. But we waited in line at 130 pm for a good bit, and then waited even longer for our food. The soup and sandwich were good, but pricey and not worth the wait. The chocolate shake was just OK, as was the salad that didn’t seem fresh. My wife was excited to get the gluten free waffle that was on the board, but after the wait they said they didn’t have them. THe atmosphere was OK, but screaming kids echoed throughout the building (not the restaurants fault, but noise did carry in there loudly). We noticed other tables getting bits and pieces of their orders slowly but surely and in no particular order. We were disappointed and probably wont be back, even though we are staying at the marina right next door. Too expensive and too long of wait.

What an awesome little business. (and by-the-way the most amazing BLT's). We live in Oyster Bluff, down Sunset Blvd and have driven by 1,000 times. I did get a coffee there once in a quick drive-by heading out of town, but I did not realize what a gem of a deli Mameem and Maudies was, until one day, craving a BLT, we placed a door dash order. Since then, it's been a (often twice per) weekly lunch order for me and my remote worker wife. Toasted, with what feels like a pound of bacon on it ... nice and well done, not gummy and chewy, fresh fixin's, great mayo and I'm in heaven. You will be too, when you see the great little notes they leave on their to-go bags. I love our tourists here, boosting the economy and whatnot, but I hope not too many read my review and make it too busy for me and the Mrs. to get our lunchtime sammies! LOL Just kidding, I hope you guys get stinking rich off your hard labor, and thanks for making a hell of ... (oops, I mean) an absolutely Heavenly BLT! - Paul and Sara Evans

I like getting coffee from here, it's really good. I also enjoy the food here for the most part. Today I got the mariner sandwich and soup of the day, which was supposed to be chicken and dumplings. Well when I got my plate, I was surprised to see chicken and tortilla soup on it instead. When I asked about it, we learned that the kitchen had failed to communicate to the front staff that they were out of chicken and dumplings for the day, so they gave me leftovers from the previous day instead. I wasn't really pleased with the options offered afterwards but I didn't want to waste the soup, even though it wasn't my fault, so I just kept it. The soup was alright. But the sandwich bread was too buttery for me (it was saturating the napkins I had to use to hold the sandwich with) and it was very salty as well. But it was good otherwise. I'm not entirely sure if the bread was sourdough either, like I had ordered. But at that point I just wanted to sit and eat my food. I really would have preferred if they had just let me know that they were out of chicken and dumpling soup before I even paid for it. Not to mention, the first lady I made my order with did not seem very confident and it came off as unfriendly when I was speaking with her. I don't mean to be mean! I don't usually see her in the front so maybe she felt uncomfortable with customer service. Hopefully they tighten up a little more- I was disappointed in the lack of leadership today (though the young man up front really did his best and did no wrong), I really like coming to this place for fresh food otherwise.The Sandbar cookie was delicious though.

Great place for lunch in Beaufort. Sandwiches are great and a sandbar cookie is required.

Everytime I have went here it's been great. The Stowaway sandwich is my favorite and the chocolate chip cookie was great as well! The employees are always friendly.

We found this neat place while traveling. Neat coffee shop & deli. I had the ham & cheese croissant. The menu stated that it came with fruit and the mustard would be on the side. We had to ask for the fruit and the mustard was on the sandwich. Otherwise, everything was good.

Ok, shhhh! 😬. This is a hidden gem in Beaufort. If it was located downtown, it would be packed. I had a custom egg and cheese biscuit for breakfast. OMG!!! Homemade. Spectacular! Amazing. It had flavor and was made with real ingredients. Then, my wife bought a cookie (made that morning) and I purchased a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was even better than the egg biscuit sandwich. And the lady at the counter was super sweet and came and checked on us. The vibe is like a coffee house... You find a seat or booth to relax and hang out and enjoy bits of the menu while getting your work done! If you read any of my reviews, I don't hand out 5 stars.... This one is worthy.

I usually order ahead and pick up lunch here without incident. And it's good. I love the blackberry salad. I was disappointed today when I ordered a protein smoothie and when I went to pick it up, it was a regular fruit smoothie. When pointing out the error, instead of making a protein smoothie for me, they just added protein powder to the fruit smoothie and called it a day. I didn't argue, but a protein smoothie is larger than a fruit smoothie and is green due to the veggies. I felt that for all their Bible passages that they write on their take-out bags that they were being a bit hypocritical in trying to pass off something that wasn't.

Favorite lunch spot. Really quaint and inviting decor, and very friendly service! Their chicken salad club is my favorite!

Great place for a breakfast sandwich. The seating is kind of tired and worn, but that doesn't distract from the food.

Don't know why I waited so long. Absolutely love the bagels. The Bible verses make my day. Being 2 minutes away from my job just makes it better. The BLT is perfect for lunch and the Blackberry salad is on point. Love love love it here!!!

Great food, nice service but if you are on a tight timeline at lunch you may want to call in your order ahead.

Came in yesterday and had a couple of sandwiches which were good, so we brought our 2 girls in today for an early lunch about noon. The Privateer Sandwich I was told was cold, so I requested lettuce and tomato no onion, on sourdough. We received a hot sandwich which looked like the description of The Jib just on grilled sourdough instead of Rye. Before ordering I asked what the difference was between the two sandwiches and was told the Jib is hot and Privateer is cold. I asked for an extra pickle spear on my platter, was nearly charged for it. Their canned drinks are advertised as fountain beverages. $2.25 for a can of coke with a cup of ice. I don’t appreciate dishonest advertisement. We had a good experience yesterday but today was disappointed in the order mistake, and the cost of a can of Coke being marked up like 400%. We’ll give it a rest for now, may come again in the future to give them another try. Dear Owner, Your response comes off as attacking and rude. I was a small business owner previous to moving to SC, and know firsthand the struggles and challenges with employment and cost of operating. I did ask for clarifications with the front counter worker and did ask why drinks are $2.25 each. I was told that that’s due to the machine being broken and that’s why they’re giving cups of ice with the cans. Nowhere in my review did I suggest I wanted anything for free. Do not assume that I didn’t communicate while I was there on site. After reading your reply I can see how you deflect and take things like a public review personally. This is the free market, reviews are the right of consumers and I review honestly. I didn’t “slam” anyone. You could try employing more experienced personnel if you feel the age you are hiring does not communicate effectively.

We’re new to the area and love trying local eats. This place had a nice menu and the retail space is cute. We ordered lattes, bagel sandwich, the stowaway sandwich, a pecan sticky bun and cookies for the kids. My husband loved his sandwich! He’s sometimes hard to please and so am I so that was a nice surprise! The fruit cup that came with my bagel sandwich had great substance to it- blueberries, grapes, clementine orange slices and strawberries. I love little spots like this, we will definitely be back!

Cute place, BUT they forgot my order. Waited 25 min with out so much as a sorry, I was standing right there, the attitude was take it and leave. I also had a hard time looking past the young ladies picking at their face or their teeth after "break" not washing their hands before serving soup and coffee or at the grill station. Really wanted to like this place. This was my first visit and only.

Nice sandwich shop. Just to mention, I am a bit of a sandwich snob. The helsman sandwich was a rost beef with provolone cheese and a bit of what looked to be a bit of chopped tomato. The sourdough bread had a spot of butter in the middle, but the bread was not toasted. The sandwich was good. The outside patio was nice. We like a little music instead of listening to the traffic. As you can see, by the speakers, they could liven it up a bit if they wanted. Publics makes an incredible sandwich. This sandwich was over $10. No chips and just water. I probably won't mention it to friends when asked for a good sandwich shop. Not bad, just not that good.

Celebrating St. Patrick's day. I had to try their Ruben on rye. It was the best that I have had in a long time. It was served with their homemade sauerkraut.

Cute little place. The food is okay. But the prices do not match the quality of food. The prices are expensive! Slow service and I always have things missing when the food does come out, causing more wait time for the rest of the food. Parking is a nightmare on a busy street. The patio area is a great place to hang out! There are definitely better places to go for higher quality and better pricing.

Met a friend for afternoon coffee on the porch outside. Great location between our places of work . Friendly staff and great food selections. Breakfast, lunch, treats…. They have it all!

The sandwiches here are excellent and the pricing is reasonable for the quality of the ingredients. The service was friendly, but man was it sloooooow. It took over a half hour to get my sandwich, and I arrived before the lunch rush. The food was good, but I'd be wary of coming for a lunch break again unless I called ahead.

I had the Jib sandwich and it was amazing! I had it for lunch at noon and by four I was craving another one! The lady who took my order was great and super patient with me trying to figure out what I wanted. Definitely will be visiting again soon!

Delicious sandwiches! Had lunch with our dog on the patio and they brought out water for him. 10/10 would recommend for lunch

Great little place for breakfast. Great food and service. They had a few sides that I was able to build a Keto breakfast. They have a nice dog friendly patio. Short walk from the marina. We plan to go back for lunch. We went back for lunch. They have a broad selection of sandwiches. What I liked most was they will turn any of their sandwiches into a salad. This is a great place.

Reference the included photo of their power “bowl”. For nearly $12 you get a half cup snack and piece of bread. Not sure if I’m more disappointed or insulted. Sandwiches are okay, but also overpriced. I’ll stick to Urban Brew and Herban Market for the better food, portions, and atmosphere.

First time eating here... where has this place been all my life. Homemade DELICIOUS food made me feel like I was back home. I asked the red-haired girl for a suggestion (sorry didnt get your name) and got what she suggested. Tomato basil soup and chicken salad sandwich. PHENOMENAL SOUP, im not a huge soup person, but SHEESH I would get this any day of the week. Sandwich was fire, and I had an outstanding gluten-free bread. I will absolutely be back.

Very delicious menu and they have ice cream! Great service with smiles. Not just the run of the mill menu either.

This place has the best lunch salad in Beaufort!! The chicken and orzo salad! Amazing sandwiches too and such sweet staff. Plus their milkshakes are to die for (get the chocolate)!

Very cool little local spot. The admiral sandwich is probably the best sandwich I've had in Beaufort. Neat little vibe in the dining area. They have a lunch rush so get there early! My new favorite lunch spot. Are everything but the toothpick.

I had the sausage biscuit and coffee. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The biscuit was amazing! It was made from scratch and is the best I've had since my grandmother was alive. I felt welcome from the moment I walked in. It's a lovely environment that includes a couch and chess board. Definitely recommend you stop in for a dining experience.

This place is a gem. The women working both days we visited were so friendly. The food is absolutely incredible and so fresh. They have a little of everything. They wrote a Bible verse on my to go bag 🙏🏼🙌🏼. We came down to Beaufort to fish, and this place kept us fed multiple mornings for breakfast. Could not recommend enough.

Customer service on a busy Sat afternoon was the absolute best. I stopped in for some lunch and drinks. My daughter was just stung by a wasp while dropping my son off at a bday party at the escape room. Her arm was hurting so I asked if I could have some ice for her arm. The young lady at the counter went above and beyond. She went and got a ziploc bag to make an ice pack. Not only did she make an ice pack she also brought out some antiseptic wipes for me to clean her arm with. She did this without a second thought. All while in a busy rush. True angel. Then we were served our food and drinks. The sandwiches, iced coffee and milkshakes were fantastic. Just what we needed. Highly recommend. Our first of many visits to come.

Our first visit to this wonderful eatery just off the main streets of downtown Beaufort. Pleasant and very attentive staff and good food… and best of all the price is very affordable. We wanted to try a new breakfast place and decided to stop here. We could dine in/outside or carry out. We decided to stay inside, and while we were waiting for our food, we browsed the cute shop just off the dining area. It’s a sweet little shop with lots of well priced items. It’s more geared to the southern belles and has great gift selection. Don’t discount it if you need a birthday gift, anniversary, and/or hostess gift. The food was so tasty and filling and well worth the visit. They serve lunch, in addition to sweet treats like shaved ice, pastries, and made to order “bubble waffles” that stood out on their happy chalk menu boards. We will be back for lunch soon, or a sweet treat soon!!!

The sandwiches were excellent and a lot of choices. The service is slow and not much of an atmosphere, but the food is good. Great spot for lunch or take out.

We stumbled upon this gem and thank God we did. Cool atmosphere, really nice group of people and the main reason for the review is their coffee. My Americano is hands down the best one I’ve ever had. The wife even liked it and it’s not her thing. Worth a visit.

Wife and I stopped here on our way to Ft. Fremont and was very very happy we had. It’s a very nice place clean and well decorated with murals and interesting art works. They also have a small boutique type store adjacent so it gives you something to do while you wait. Definitely recommend checking it out. The due it very deli like with the service. Order at the counter and bring it out to you. Everyone was very nice and friendly and more that willing to chat about cool things to do nearby. As tourists we really appreciate it! Now the food. I got the Quarter Deck, which is a 1/4 LB hotdog with the works and it was by far the best hotdog I’ve ever had. The hotdog by it’s self was pretty good, salty and with a nicely caramelized outside. This dog is piled with chill, coleslaw, may, mustard, cheese and ketchup. Everything was quality. Chili was home made and fresh, slightly sweet and very meaty. Coleslaw also homemade and seems to be from scratch and it was perfect. Nothing seems old or stored long at all even, wouldn’t be surprised if everything was made daily. If we’re every back in the are we will stop by again. Too marks

The JIB is great but making it your own way is even better!!! The coffee is great and my daughter loved the shaved ice! The staff is amazing and the messages they write on the bags make you smile!!!

I was in Beaufort for the day and a client suggested this place. It was wonderful! Fantastic food, neat indoor vibes with a small store connected. Wish I had more time to sit in their large outdoor area. The chicken salad sandwich was perfect. I’ll be back next time I’m in Beaufort!!

Second time coming had lunch my first time the Navigator sandwich really good with the fruit smoothie very tasty n healthy. Second time for breakfast and had the turkey, bacon n chz croissant very good n packed with meat a definitely plus along with a horchata very sweet n tasty to my liking. Had very excellent service from Ahderah!!

Let me first say, the food is great!!! Horchata is yummy! And they have an awesome story as to why they started their little cafe/coffee shop to begin with. But. The atmosphere Does Not match their story. The staff is not friendly. Not helpful at all. I asked for napkins and the little boy ignored me. And he talked so low, I couldn’t hear him or understand him. This has nothing to do with the establishment, but a couple came in with 2 kids who don’t know how to mind and parents who catered to the undisciplined. I was disappointed. I did not feel like I was sitting on the porch with grandma. I felt like grandma threw me out in the yard with brats and ignored me.

This is probably one of my favorite sandwich shops in the state. The sandwiches are fantastic - but absolutely DO NOT sleep on the SOUP! The Tomato Basil is fantastic, but the specialty soups are incredible - especially in the cooler months! The bread is always fresh and super high quality (with such a satisfying CRUNCH!) and the sauces are fantastic! The pastries (usually a few cookies) are also fantastic and I often bring a handful back to my staff as treats! In addition, during the warmer months, the milkshakes are classic and thick - and perfectly refreshing. If you aren't stopping here, you're missing a lovely local piece of Beaufort!

A must stop when in Beaufort! Great sandwiches and friendly folks. They keep me and my co-workers fed weekly. The uplifting verses written on take out bags are a nice touch.

Quick, clean, good lunch and breakfast options served all day, and super nice service. Would go again! I would also say each meal is about $10 give or take some.

I don't have much to say about this place. It has delicious shaved ice, great warm sandwiches, and incredibly friendly staff. If you're stopping in Beaufort, this is a wonderful little deli to get your lunch at.

I gave them a 4 star because most of the time I enjoy their soup and sandwiches. I was craving a pimento cheese sandwich, I could not eat their version of it. I didn't pay attention to the name because the cashier told me yes we have pimento sandwich. When I got home and went to website, they call it peppermento, I wish the cashier told me. It was terrible.! I can't eat spicy food. Oh well. I will still go back

Great food and great people. Atmosphere is great and everything is delicious and fresh. Has both indoor and outdoor dining available. Order at counter and then they bring it out to you etc. If there is one negative it is the parking at the location is extremely limited. Do yourself a favor and be sure to have one of there waffle desserts too.

I was traveling through and thought this would be a cool coffee shop to stop in at. Tasha was amazing and talked me in to getting coffee ice cubes added to my caramel iced latte. Best choice ever! Tasted so delicious and appreciated the extra coffee kick! If I’m traveling through again I’ll be sure to make a coffee stop!
