As long-time residents of Nashville Margot has always been a great dining option - especially for special occasions. And, our recent experience did not disappoint. Service was exceptional (kudos to Mathew & Sienna)!! And the food was immaculately prepared and delicious!! Highly recommend!!

Great first experience to Margot in East Nashville-made reservations for dessert only (since we were coming from a speakeasy)—Elizabeth took good care of us-the four of us shared 3 desserts (Carrot, chocolate, and peach) and they were rich and delicious! The bar looked very inviting-will be back next time for drinks and/or dinner.

My wife and I go to Margot every couple months and we love it. Veteran wait staff is knowledgeable about the menu every time (always changing depending on what ingredients are fresh and in-season) and the atmosphere is great. This is a one of a kind restaurant in Nashville. You can always depend on staples always on the menu but can look forward to something new.

waited 15 mins past our reservation, no standing room, tiny bar. No service for 15 minutes when we got sat. Ordered with another server. GOT THE WRONG FOOD (for one of us, and the other was pasta very over spiced and terrible). Skip this place.

This was our first experience at Margot’s. We have wanted to dine here for some time, since moving here. The experience was exceptional. The service, food and ambience was great. Our server was very helpful and a pro. The food was superb. Since moving here from Dallas, we have complained about the lack of really nice restaurants. Margot’s is an exception. A lovely, delightful experience. Bravo.

Absolutely delicious and cute little restaurant! The food was wonderful. We started sharing the focaccia with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was wonderful! The bread was so light and fluffy and the olive oil was flavorful (and included some Parmesan shavings). I had the pan roasted chicken with vegetables and farro. The chicken was fried well and so juicy! Everything had a great flavor and the sauce with it made it all the better. Lastly, we shared the blueberry peach crisp and added ice cream to it. It was wonderfully warm and crisp with the cold ice cream made a perfect summer dessert. It was a smaller portion for the price but still really good. I also had the peach sangria that was perfect for summertime sips as well. The restaurant had a cute aesthetic that was on the smaller side since I think it used to be a house or something similar. The tables were close together and made it hard to sit sometimes. We were in the upstairs area but there are areas downstairs for sitting too as well as outdoor space so there is plenty of different areas for seating. The restroom upstairs was nice and clean, but the toilet was having an issue and not flushing properly. Service was wonderful! Everything came out quickly and the server kept our drinks full (even the water). He was willing to make recommendations for any of the courses and was super helpful! Overall a great restaurant that I would love to return to!

I cannot rave more about this restaurant. The food is to die for. The staff feels like family while dining.

Amazing, everything was wonderful!

Everything was great! The cocktails, the cheese plate was amazing. We had a noodle dish which was good, but the grits with vegetable compote was amazing!

Honestly I have zero complaints. The food was wonderful and changes daily. The break was the best bread I have hands down ever had. This is somewhere you can spend some money but not have regrets afterwards because everything was worth it.

Brandy Flowers was an absolute honor to be served by. Her kindness, charisma, and genuine love for what she does completely shows. She makes THE best espresso martinis. Seriously if you go here ask for her. Sit at the bar, and just sit back and enjoy not only the amazing quality food but the even more amazing quality Gal!

My partner & I were on the hunt to find a great place to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. We had a reservation and got seated in the sunroom (adorable area!). As soon as we sat down, our waiter came over and introduced himself as well as explaining the details of every food item on the menu. The drinks were delicious, the food was phenomenal (we got the sirloin & scallops entrees), and service was the best we’ve seen in Nashville in a long time. This was our first time here and we are already making plans to come back. 10/10!

Cozy atmosphere and superb service makes dining here exceptional. The daily menu alterations leave diners anticipating the culinary delights offered for the day. Good food, good service and good friends is an awesome trifecta for any occasion.

Beware! Their hours on the website say they close at 10 on Fridays and Saturdays but it's not true. They won't even let you in for a drink at the bar at 9 on Saturday. Very uncool. Also, super overpriced. Oh, and if you arrive five minutes early for your 5pm reservation, they also won't let you in, even in scorching heat. Again, not at all what I would call hospitable.We have been coming here for five years from out of town and are not offended by quirkiness but it seems like things are devolving a little lately. The food is usually well prepared, particularly the chilled soups, but the bar isn't always adept with fairly common cocktails. The wine list is very nice. Menu changes daily and they do run out, so prepare a plan b when you order. I hope they step up and lose the attitude.

Always a different menu and it's not cheap but it's worth it to try at least once. We go there every time we are in Nashville.

This is in a nice little part of East Nashville. The food was excellent, and the server was so attentive. Having been to France often, I can say this food is legit. Everything we had was delicious. You should stop in here and try it. Enjoy!

Delicious and Always different menu.

Executive Chef, Hadley Long is amazingly talented. This was easily in the top 5 meals of my entire life. We got several mains, salads and the potato chips to start. Sharing a picture of our dessert. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

The second time we have eaten here and we had a great meal. We had the cookies for desert, and they might have been some of the best cookies 🍪 I have ever had at a restaurant. 😋

We attended Margot for dinner on 5/17/24. The food was amazing and our waiter was super accommodating. We had the focaccia along with the marinated olives as an app, everything was fresh tasting and delicious. I ordered the grilled quail which was so tender, and the mushrooms and polenta it was served with was to die for. My husband got the steak (I forgot what cut it was) but it was so perfectly cooked. We got the chocolate espresso torte to split for dessert, and my god that was delicious. Overall great food and great experience

We absolutely love this place! So comfortable and cozy and friendly. Everything was delicious from the potato chips to the chocolate tort!

Had the most amazing dinner starting with a smoked fish dip, golden beet salad, and homemade potato chips! Then fell in love with the pasta with peas and shrimp and the almost flourless chocolate cake that had the most velvety texture. Flawless service and the coziest atmosphere! 10/10

Just left and had one of the most incredible meals I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is cozy and neighborly and filled with so much charm. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us space to talk while being super attentive. And then there’s the food…sure, I could only understand every third word on the menu but, it didn’t matter. Everything we tried was better than the dish we tried before. The flavors in each dish were well thought out and each bite took us on a rollercoaster of flavors and textures. A visit to Margot Cafe & Bar is a must!

What a great restaurant!! Farm to table menu with unique dishes every night. We came here to celebrate a birthday and it was a great time. The food was fantastic. We had duck and lasagna. The lasagna was a treat as it is not in the menu very often from what we were told. The dish was very large! It could be shared between two, probably. The duck was tender and flavorful. The fruit and duck combination was spot on! We were recommended to come here and we are very glad we did. This is a must try while in Nashville! We will be back.

No notes, Margot Cafe was a top tier experience. We got the steak, a pasta and a can’t miss almond cream puff dessert, all of which were exceptional. The only semi criticism was the starter salad felt a bit bland, so wouldn’t recommend that. Service was also excellent, very attentive but not imposing.

Wow, what an outstanding local gem in every sense of the word. How the staff can produce a menu that changes every single night (not just the specials change) and consistently maintain a high quality of food, service, and presentation is a mind bender. I would share what we had, but it doesn't matter since you can't go back and order it. Suffice it to say that the appetizer, first course, second, deserts, and drinks were all top notch. The service was highly knowledgeable, friendly, not stuffy, and surprisingly quick. Even the plates and silverware were different, charming, and made the experience feel special. What an outstanding meal!

The most exceptional food experience in Nashville remains Margot. The well kept secret of locals also boasts the best outside patio in the area. Arrive at 5:00 then they open and it's first come, first serve as they don't take reservations for outdoor seating

Outstanding food and service. Small wine list but a few fun choices. Portions are very generous! I had the Red Snapper Croquettes and the pasta with lamb meatballs. Wow.

We can't recall a more memorable dining experience. Server Dana was attentive yet leaving us to enjoy each other and our magnificent dinner. Atmosphere was superb cozy and not loud. GM Destin was kind and hospitable. And the food? Every dish, start to finish, had a unique taste. I had a pasta that far outstripped anything we had in Bologna last year! Even the coffee with scrumptious desserts was hot and delicious. If you have one meal in Nashville, make it this wonderful restaurant!

A staple of the East Nashville dining, one of the OG restaurants on this side of the river. Consistently fabulous for 20+ years. Everything on the menu is good, the ambience is quaint and cozy, and the staff are delightful. I eat here often.

I don't like my steak cut in pieces when served

This was an amazing experience my husband and I had while we were visiting Nashville. Very impressed with the food, service, and ambience here. Although we didn't have a reservation and the place was packed they accommodated us quickly so we had the pleasure to dine in at Margot. From appetizers to drinks and dessert, everything was exquisite and tasted so good. The portions are the right size for you to enjoy the food not to overeat. Isn't that great? We had housemade focaccia with herb infused oil, greener roots salad, salmon, Shephard's pie and gingerbread cake, and thoroughly enjoyed all. The cocktail I had with gin and pear was pretty delicious with just right amount of sweetness and not syrupy at all. Highly recommend it and will definitely eat here if we visit Nashville again!

Nice farm to table restaurant. Check daily menu before coming. The food is very good. Didn't love my steak but that is on me, not a fan of flank steak. My wife had the salmon roulettes as first course and liked it a lot.

Nice atmosphere, wait staff was friendly. Food was disappointing; dry, chewy chicken, bland gravy. Thought it was surprising to see the bill showing a spot to leave a Service gratuity and a Chef gratuity. Call me old fashioned but normally a chef is the highest paid person in a restaurant… also done in poor taste imho.

We went to Margot Cafe and Bar with high expectations because of its remarkable reviews, but it didn’t live to its reputation. The bucattini grande was somehow off and oily, the grilled flatiron steak was cold, pan roasted chicken was above average but nothing extraordinary. Worth highlighting were the butternut squash bread pudding, the pizzette, and the chocolate butterscotch mousse. Considering the amazing culinary options that Nashville has to offer, Margot Cafe has some work to do to earn a 5-star review.

Our experience was top notch, the food was amazing and presented so well. Our server was beyond kind and connected with us throughout dinner but not in a bothersome way and the place was so cute decorated for Christmas! I would recommend this gem to anyone, I love the daily rotating menu as well. It’s hard to find that in the city!!

Outstanding. I’ve been to the Margot cafe a few times and it is my favorite spot to bring friends when they visit from out of town. I took a friend here on 12/02 and everything from our server, Evelyn’s care, to the delicious food was amazing. We started with cocktails, we had the pear pressure, delicious and refreshing. For appetizer we had the smoked salmon which was extremely flavorful. I had the lamb shank with polenta. The lamb was so tender and flavorful and the polenta silky. My friend had the grilled chicken if I’m not mistaken and we shared the peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream for dessert. Can’t get enough of this place

Was not pleased with my interaction with this place! I called tonight 10 minutes before they opened and the lady that answered the phone just wouldn’t not speak to me on trying to get a reservation ( now I will state this that there was a storm warning but according to the weather prediction is was over in 15min.) She said she could not look to see if they had any opening and then hung the phone up. THEN MY WIFE CALLED 5min. later and they treated her the same way. Couldn’t even get them to tell us if they had any openings at all tonight. Maybe I’m being a little dramatic but it just didn’t sit well with me. Really you just hang up the phone in mid conversation????

Such an amazing restaurant, delicious food, wonderful service. The menu changes every night and it’s always so consistent and scrumptious! Margot is one of the best chefs I’ve had the privilege of meeting. A must try in Nashville for sure 12/10.

Fun, eclectic food with an ever-changing menu.

Had a lovely dinner here on my honeymoon in November 2023. Everything was so flavorful and the atmosphere was exactly what we were hoping for a semi-fancy night out.

Without a doubt one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Nashville. Not pretentious, very comfortable, substantial portions, unique and fresh menu, lovely setting, more than reasonable prices, knowledgeable servers and excellent service. We were amazed!

Incredible! Reminded so much of dining in NYC. Everything was delicious but we especially enjoyed the pumpkin bisque, steak and toasted almond coconut ice cream. Very accommodating to gluten free needs. The fryer is shared, but I was able to have multiple options for each course and all but one option of the main! We love the changing menu and can’t wait to come back and see what else the chef comes up with!

Arrived to our reservation at 6:15 on Oct 28th. While we didn’t place a drink order as we sat we ordered next. The second round, we had to remind our server and it had been sitting at the bar. 30 minutes into the table service, the tables who came after us already ordered and after two courses over, our entrees didn’t make it out for another 45 minutes, other tables seemed to have faster, more prompt service. Olives were surprising good, the pizza was burnt, all the topping melted toward the center and underneath was extra crispy. When we brought it up the server did offer to rebake it, but if you’re paying $15 for a small “pizzette” that isn’t our call to make, the expo should have not let it go out to the table. See photo. My tri-tip was good, no filet mignon by any means thought a better piece of steak would be on the menu. Wife’s mackerel was tiny and left her hungry after 3 courses. Better experience the first time we went prior to Covid.

Wonderful spot just a short Uber ride from all the downtown craziness. Well worth it. Outstanding food outstanding service in a cool venue!

Over all GREAT place to eat. Everything was good, Service was above par, staff worked well together. The meal was the best, fresh, done to perfection. They also paid attention to dietary needs. Will definitely be back.

Service was great, chicken liver pate appetizer was fantastic. Everything else mediocre at best, over salted and the duck confit dish was bland, definitely not worth the $250 tab with wine. If you go stick with the Focaccia and appetizers

Upset at myself for not trying Margot sooner!! What a lovely place all around. My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and our meal was absolutely perfect. The service was also top notch. This is certainly the first of many more visits here.

I lived in Nashville for sadly only 3yrs. So I am watching the Create channel on PBS. The have a guest that I truly love her name is Marilyn a southern girl from Eastern North Carolina, she is a wonderful person and great chef. I loved Nashville the short time I lived there. John stone.

The food was delicious. The service was impeccable. I've never been to a restaurant that runs so smoothly and efficiently. Yes, it is on the higher end as far as price but it is absolutely worth it here.

Was looking forward to a great experience from this highly rated restaurant, unfortunately we left very disappointed. Things started well enough with excellent drinks, service and appetizers. It took a turn for the main courses…one, the halibut, was fantastic, actually just may be the best halibut I’ve ever had. The other though, Denver steak, which was suggested be ordered at medium was luke warm from the kitchen, definitely not freshly plated, the accompanying sides were flat out cold. We brought this to the attention of server and manager who offered to redo, which after a few minutes reappeared with same plate just heated up rather then a proper redo on the meal. In addition our previously good service took a decidedly chilly note. As a result we opted to forgo any desert and leave. No plans to return.

Absolutely phenomenal. Definitely need reservations. The courses came out in a timely manner, never felt rushed, and thoroughly enjoyed every item. The chocolate cake and coconut pudding is an absolute must!

We came here to celebrate a beautiful birthday dinner. Arrived a little early to our reservation, but they seated us immediately. First impressions, a super beautiful and rustic looking interior with an old-fashioned feel. The menu was fantastic with all farm to table options that change daily. There’s so many yummy options to choose from and plenty of choice for vegetarian and meat lovers. For the menu tonight we opted for the focaccia with olive oil and balsamic, the skirt steak with fresh veggies and the zucchini and couscous dish. Everything including the grapefruit bourbon cocktail was killer so much flavor. Ended with an espresso torte for dessert that was so fudgy and decadent. One of the only places in the city I’d give out five stars this easily, best spot for upscale food in east Nash.

Fantastic farm to table dining with a bit of a French inspired twist. Everything was plated well and tasted fantastic. Highly recommend going earlier in the evening as the restaurant only has so much of certain dishes and they will run out! Menu changes frequently with what's fresh, so there's always something new to try.

The food here is wonderful. Everything was cooked beautifully with subtle flavors that worked perfectly together. FYI they bring out each course individually and there is no rush. This could be good or bad depending on what you need.

This is a cannot miss Nashville restaurant. It has a quaint French ambiance, the most knowledgeable and friendly staff, and the most incredible food I’ve ever had. The menu changes daily and is decided by what they get from local farmers. Everything is masterfully created and every bite is heavenly. Each visit is a delightful surprise and it quickly became my very favorite restaurant.

Margot is our go to spot for any and all celebrations in our life, including "it's Sunday", let's celebrate. The food is always tasty and creative. The service is always great. All the Margot family are just that and treat you as family. We were there two weeks ago and have reservations for this coming Sunday.

The menu changes often, so it's tough to recommend one specific dish, but they were all delicious.. the service was attentive and friendly and we left very satisfied! 😋

The original East Nashville. The standard all other restaurants here aspire to meet. The classic that balances innovation and nostalgia like no one else. You really can't say enough good things about Margot. Rustic French cuisine with a little southern flair the menu changes almost nightly and I refuse to believe that you can find anything on it not well prepared thoughtfully sourced and beautifully plated. I in particular love their fish dishes and anytime they have duck it's a must try. Excellent soups like a recent mushroom and lemon offering complement fresh salads like snap peas strawberry beans and feta. Pork chops and steaks also feature frequently. Finally a lovely desert program with a dedicated pastry chef helps round out the meal alongside a coffee or port. The cocktails don't get alot of love overshadowed by the extensive wine selection but they really have an excellent bar program that compliments dishes like no other restaurant on the east side. Servers are super friendly and knowledgeable. The kitchen is fast despite being so small and the seating is comfortable and intimate. I adore the little two tops lining the 2nd floor. To top it all off the prices are really decent for the quality and type of restaurant you could spend almost as much over at bartaco for a much less intimate and lesser menu. Margot is an excellent date night location or for a small group of friends. You are in the heart of 5 points so there are some paid lots or you might get lucky with free street parking. The location only adds to the charm since after your excellent meal you can grab a night cap at one of the local bars.
