My sister and I stayed here for 4 days when visiting the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. Mary Helen’s is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay! The grounds are full of flowers and plants. I really loved feeding the fish in the pond. There were birds everywhere, we even had a Robin’s nest right outside our window! The house and room were immaculate and perfectly decorated. There was a snack station and coffee/tea area that was stocked. Our hosts thought of everything, we didn’t need a thing! The breakfast was delicious and we tried some of the passed down family recipes. It was also a great opportunity to talk to Cindy and hear about the history of their wonderful bed and breakfast. I would recommend staying here and hope to be able to visit again!!

We stayed at Mary Helen's for our anniversary. This is the third time we have enjoyed a weekend at this little heaven on earth getaway! Our daughters called ahead and had Cindy prepare a cheese and fruit tray with a bottle of wine! It was exquisite and delicious both at the same time!! This is surely not the last time we will be visiting here !! Thanks for the memories!!!

The rooms were spotless. Cindy had everything in order including a few extras in case you forgot something. It was a very quiet setting and only 6 miles from Batesville proper for shopping and restaurants. We also found some walking trails through the woods that were nearby and enjoyed those very much. The food for breakfast was out of this world! So yummy! Highly recommend this B & B!

My husband and I stayed here right before Thanksgiving for a getaway for a few days and will DEFINITELY be going back! The owners were so hospitable and the B&B is beautiful. Were just starting to decorate for Christmas and the place was so warm and festive. The setting off the road was so peaceful. We want to go back when it's warmer outside so we can explore the property. Our homemade breakfasts were delicious and looked like they came out of a 5 star restaurant. We truly felt like we were pampered the whole time and left feeling rested and refreshed.

We wanted a getaway close to Ohio to unwind and get in the Christmas spirit. Mary Helen’s Place did all that and MORE! As soon as we pulled into the driveway, we were greeted by Christmas Angels, reindeer and more! Once inside, I thought we’d landed in Santa’s village! The decorations and amenities were only surpassed by the warm welcome of our hosts Cindy and Jim! The rooms were full of decorations and Midwestern charm. On the recommendation of our hosts, we ate at a local winery and had a great meal! We can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful place! Very warm and welcoming upon arrival. Wonderful hosts. Delicious home cooked gourmet breakfast. Everything you would need for comfort, including snacks, sodas and coffee/tea. Thanks for making our girls night so special.

My best friend and I found this place as a half way meeting place for an overdue visit. I wish we had stayed for 2 nights vs 1! The B&B was clean, quaint, and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was perfect! Cindy was very kind and we enjoyed having her sit down with us after we had breakfast just to chat and learn some history. Breakfast was delicious, hubby makes delicious omelets! We are looking forward to a warmer visit so we can spend more time outside around the pond/lake. Love the large Koi and smaller water feature closer to the house where more fish are kept. Perfect place for nature lovers. We’ll be back for sure! THANK YOU! ❤️🤗

Mary, Helen’s Bed Breakfast was a beautiful place to stay in Batesville, Indiana. The house is gorgeously decorated. The landscaping is idyllic and charming. The hosts were gracious and welcoming, and the breakfast was amazing!! We will be back, and will tell all of our friends about this magical place to stay. This place deserves way more than five stars.

We went for a quick getaway over fall break. Pulling into the long driveway we already noticed the meticulously manicured grounds. The yard is stunning with a pond, trees, and flowers. We were greeted by Cindy who answered our questions before they were even asked, gave us information, and was just overall extremely pleasant and helpful. From even the front porch, we could see how painstakingly decorated this place was. Everything was perfectly in place. The rooms were spacious and had a very luxurious feel. The bed was more comfortable than it had any right to be. I have back issues and dread sleeping anywhere but my own adjustable bed, but I'd dare say that the bed here was even more comfortable than what I have at home. There was a refreshment area upstairs where snacks and coffee were readily available at all hours. The made from scratch breakfasts were also a highlight of the trip. Everything was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. I honestly slept better at this establishment than any time in recent memory. Walking the grounds, feeding the fish, and just relaxing made our trip extra enjoyable. We will without a doubt be back soon.

I am sad to leave! This place is amazing. Cindy goes above and beyond for her guests. I couldn’t wait for breakfast every morning because it’s so delicious and the presentation is better than any restaurant I’ve been to! There is a area right outside the rooms with a coffee bar and snacks available at any time of the day. We’re making this a yearly trip. That’s how much my fiancé and I enjoyed our stay. This is a gorgeous piece of property and the rooms are beautifully decorated in cozy decor that makes you feel right at home. We’ve stayed at other B&Bs but this place has made it to the top of our list. We can’t wait to come back!!

Mary Helens was one of the best bed and breakfasts we’ve stayed at. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. Between the beautiful gardens and landscaping and the wonderfully decorated clean rooms, we were thrilled we had chose to stay here. The hosts are super sweet and accommodating. Such an amazing bed and breakfast! Very clean and cute. We thoroughly enjoyed the gardens and pond. We spent most of our time just relaxing in the swing by the pond. So beautiful. The hosts are a fantastic couple and we hope to return!

This place is a gem, a diamond in the rough! The hosts were such sweet people who think of everything to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast was so yummy-beds comfortable. Also, it absolutely could not be cleaner. All that said, the charm is over the top!! You can tell they love the place. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

I simply cannot put into words how simply charming and incredible Mary Helen's B&B is. Firstly, you drone onto a gorgeously landscaped property with flowers, a pond & fountain, benches, swings, and even a little gnome tree, it's stunning. Upon arrival, Cindy greeted me at the door with a warm welcome and tour of their beautiful home. She shared with me the history of the house; explaining that some of the beams even came from the clearing of the property, and that the Bed & Breakfast was named after her husband Jim's late mother. Cindy was happy to provide recommendations on dining and hiking in the area, welcoming me to make myself at home and text her if anything was needed. To no surprise my room, Dewey's Outpost (named after their son), was country cozy with a queen bed, sofa, dinette, smart TV, and basic bar items needed for a bottle of wine or the likes. The bed and sofa were very comfy and I did feel right at home. (If my home were western themed anyway). The bathroom was stocked with basically any toiletry or necessities you may need for a getaway, everything was very clean, and the Jacuzzi tub was made of dreams. In the loft, there was a mini fridge stocked with sodas and room for your own beverages, there was a water dispenser, and the sidebar was stocked with snacks. There is an adorable little writing desk with DVDs and books to help your mind wander in entertainment, and even a little 'emergencies' station with some lesser needed necessities you may have forgotten or needed. The dining area is on the first floor and is also decorated with images of the parents of Jim & Cindy Bischoff (our hosts) and live plants, giving you the feeling that you're in a homey dining room of your grandma's house. Upon check-in, Cindy verified when I would like my breakfast and let me say, she was right on time. I was served bacon, toast, an omelette, fresh fruit, and a delicious rhubarb muffin. Not a single thing in that meal wasn't fresh or delicious, you could tell that it was absolutely made with love. When I checked out, Cindy gave me such a warm embrace and thanked me for my visit, making sure I was relaxed and happy with my accommodations. I assured her, and you now, that I loved my visit and simply cannot wait for an excuse to go back & stay in Leona Jo's room and have Cindy's delicious breakfast.

Me and my partner went to Mary Helen's Place for a small honeymoon. The property was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the owners are absolutely amazing hosts. They made me feel so comfortable as soon as I got there. The room was clean and nice. This is the perfect location for a small romantic get away. I would recommend it to anyone, and I absolutely plan on returning. I wish we could have stayed longer.

The property, both interior and exterior, is beautiful and very well cared for. The hospitality was top notch! You will enjoy your stay.

What a wonderful find! Literally stumbled across this gem doing a web search and boy did we strike gold. If you're looking for somewhere to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and r-e-l-a-x, look no further. Your hosts are friendly and very accommodating, the breakfasts are flat out delicious, and the rooms are very nicely appointed. You can see the pride Jim and Cindy have in their beautiful home, and that is evident in how they treat their guests. Literally nothing more we could want. The weather while we were there wasn't as nice as we'd hoped - but that just means a return trip during summer and/or fall. The towns of Batesville and nearby Oldenburg offer a glimpse of simpler times of years past but again, you can find pretty much anything you need. About an hour down the road is Cincinnati. Mary Helen's B & B would make an ideal spot for a stay in the area. You really need to find a way to see this wonderful place.

This was such a delightful place to stay. Cindy and her husband, Jim were so welcoming and kind. He is the cook and he prepared wonderful breakfasts for us each morning. The setting of their home is lovely. Even in the late fall, it was such a beautiful area of Indiana. We had a restful and calm stay and would recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Mary Helen’s gave us, three friends of seventy years, the perfect sanctuary to gather. The home and grounds were lovely, immaculate, extremely comfortable and private. Cindy and Jim provided us with fabulous breakfasts, as well as wonderful conversations. Loved it!

This was the first bed and breakfast I have ever stayed at and I couldn't imagine any other B&B topping this place! Stayed for 3 nights, Cindy and Jim are so friendly and welcoming, always at your service to make sure your stay is nothing less than perfect. My favorite part was breakfast, so well laid out on the plate that if you weren't hungry you'd just leave it there it was so pretty. Clean room, plenty of space, and just an overall great atmosphere to get away. Also enjoyed feeding the fish. Also if you have a YMCA membership, there is a super nice YMCA 4 minutes from the house! A gorgeous bed and breakfast. The environment is relaxing and beautifully surrounded by nature. Jim and Cindy are lovely hosts, very accommodating, attentive to your needs, dietary concerns as well as offering a delicious breakfast. Highly recommend. I was looking for a small, quiet, country setting and Mary Helen's Bed & Breakfast fit my desire perfectly. It was everything and more than I expected. Cindy and Jim were exceptionally nice, helpful, servant-hearted. They have quite a lovely place to rest, rejuvenate and enjoy some outdoor time to read, have a snack or time for reflection. We had a lovely weekend stay at the beautiful Mary Helen’s B&B in Batesville, Indiana to celebrate our 35th anniversary. It was my surprise for my husband. Mary Helen was my husband’s mothers name too and I was only blessed with knowing her for 3 years before she died. Our Mary Helen helped me so much in planning our wedding, that I wanted to honor her by surprising her son with this gorgeous, wonderful place that had her name. Coincidentally, the host and hostess of this beautiful place have the names of Jim and Cindy too, same as ours! So, of course, our staying here was serendipitous. As soon as we turned up their driveway path….we were enthralled! It was like arriving in a paradise. We love this place so much… with its beautiful accommodations! We stayed in the spacious Leona Jo room, with a wonderful king size bed and a cozy couch for two to watch movies and cuddle. We enjoyed gorgeous, relaxing gardens that had plenty of places to just sit and enjoy being immersed in nature and the sounds of birdsong. The gardens had two ponds to enjoy. Both with colorful koi goldfish, the smaller one, we enjoyed watching a colorful pond frog leaping among the lily pads and a larger, sparkling pond centered by a cascading water fountain. Just beautiful! The breakfasts,,,,oh my,,,everything was a delicious, decadent surprise. We walked away full every time and looked forward to every morning! I just have to say, the eggs were the best I’ve ever had and the sweet cakes were divine! The view of the gardens and the soft music as we dined was so serene and relaxing. Saving the best for last, our host and hostess. Jim and Cindy are a wonderful and very accommodating couple that genuinely have the gift of service. You felt the love and care they put into Mary Helen’s B&B and how much they want you to enjoy your stay. We certainly enjoyed our weekend and will definitely come back, especially to spend more time with our two new friends at Mary Helen’s B&B. Thank you!

Cindy is an excellent and kind host. We did not get to meet Jim but I’m sure he is also. The rooms are wonderful and so relaxing and many details were thought of for a peaceful stay. The breakfast was so tasty. I won’t spoil it for you. Take some time to stroll the grounds, sit by the pond … there are many little nooks to explore! Looking forwards to our next visit!

From the time you drive over the small grade of the driveway, you are transported to a tranquil, peaceful space. Immaculate flower gardens line the pond in the front yard, the paved entry way, circular drive and almost everywhere else you look. As you walk up to the covered front porch, you are greeted with native water loving plants cradling a bubbling koi pond, perennial and annual flowers and the sounds you only hear in the country. Step on the porch and feel the comfort and welcome of your faith believing hosts. My room way cozy, comfortable and made me feel like I was in a country escape. Breakfast was served to me and my son like we were in a 5 star resort and it was beyond delicious! I will always plan my visits home around the available rooms at this awesome place!

Mary Helens gorgeous B&B was located on beautiful and well maintained grounds, just outside Batesville, IN. My husband and I spent 10 days here and wished we booked longer. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch being entertained by the croaking of the frog each night. The hummingbird feeder didnt disappoint as they tiny birds were flying to it non-stop. Jim and Cindy served a mouth watering, gourmet breakfast every morning. This place was so much more comfortable than a local hotel. We would heartily recommend.

This was an amazing place to stay. Driving up the driveway you get the first glimpse of how beautiful it is, inside and out. You can sit outside and relax by the pond or hang out in the loft and read a book. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. If you are passing through the area or need a peaceful place to recharge I'd highly recommend coming here.

We loved everything about our stay! Food was top notch. The property was beautiful. Our bed and room were perfect. We came with our one year old, and it could not have worked better. This is the cutest little bed and breakfast in rural Indiana. We live in southern Indiana so it was just a quick weekend getaway to relax. Relaxing is exactly what we did. Cindy showed us around and filled us in on the history. Such a neat place and gorgeous landscaping. The breakfast was delicious. It was a full breakfast of eggs, sausage, and waffles! We hope to come back and visit again some day.

t has been almost three months since my stay at Mary Helen’s Place, and I find myself dreaming about going back! It was the perfect place for a busy momma to find some peace and relaxation, even if just for a night. The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating, the bed was captivating, and the homemade breakfast by candlelight touched my soul. I could go on and on with the wonderful things about Mary Helen’s. I didn’t want to leave! I have found my self-care ritual and cannot wait to choose the date for my next stay!

This bed and breakfast is beautiful inside and out! The garden and pond are peaceful and tranquil! Both rooms are visually inviting and comfortable! They both offer fabulous tubs one garden and one jetted( I loved the deep jetted tub ). The breakfast was absolutely delicious ! The host was very pleasant with an abundance of hospitality! And the rates are better than most any other room you can rent. Very well pleased with my stay !

This was our first time at a B&B... It was wonderful!!! We stayed Valentine's weekend and everything was decorated so cute. Our room was adorable and the bed was really comfortable.. Jim was extremely friendly and the breakfast was perfect!! Sad we didn't get to meet Cindy.... She had a family emergency, but Jim went above and beyond.. We loved the pond and everything about the place.. it was so peaceful! We will be back for sure!!!

"Don't worry, just come ahead. We'll leave the lights on and the door open." That was the last text from Cindy and so the 4 of us drove on through the dark and stormy November night. When we arrived we found a charming, warm chalet that provided us with a pair of suites plus a common lounge area where we made ourselves right at home. Our every need was met and the views from the 2nd floor windows were awesome. By the time we left after 4 nights and 4 FABULOUS breakfasts, we felt like part of the family. Anytime I need to stay in the Cincinnati area Mary Helen's is my first choice.

Outstanding B&B in the country We spent 2 nights at Mary Helen’s B&B as a short get-away. We were extremely happy with our experience there. It is in the quiet country a few minutes from town. The grounds and building are very beautifully maintained. We spent some time sipping tea on the deck next to the pond. We actually spent one night in each of the two rooms. Both were nicely decorated, spacious, and very clean. There is a loft between the 2 rooms with a beverage station including coffee, fridge, microwave, snacks and a few chairs. We found this to be a nice set-up – made the rooms feel more like a suite . Breakfast was at the higher end of what you would expect at a B&B with both savory and sweet servings. The breakfast room was also lovely with seasonal decorations. The hosts were very polite, thoughtful, and engaging. We plan to return.

This was a lovely B&B. The property is stunning! Jim and Cindy have definitely put their all into this beautiful Home. They only have 2 rooms to offer and we are so happy that they had an availability for us on our travel date. The B&B is meticulous. Cindy made a most delicious breakfast and it was so beautifully presented. All in all, if you are traveling in the area, this is a must stay! It is truly breathtaking!

We have been staying at Mary Helens now for the past 5 years on our yearly trips from Michigan to Tennessee. We just love staying with Cindy and Jim, they take such wonderful care of you in every way, we couldn't stay anywhere else. In the 35+ years my wife and I have been visiting B&B's, this one has been the best! Cindy and Jim make the best breakfast each morning to get you started for a great day. I loved this place! What a hidden gem! The beautiful landscaped grounds and tranquil scenery. I was beyond impressed with how clean everything was! Cindy was the icing on the cake, her personality and how she makes you feel welcomed in her home. Her cooking was scrumptious. She has thought of everything from robes, coffee, snacks, thread and needle, cough drops and any basic bathroom essentials you may need and forgot to pack. I will definitely come back.

Cindy is an excellent hostess. Breakfasts were exquisite! Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Wifi and TV were fine. All towels, bath supplies etc. of high quality and plentiful. Landscaped setting of the home is absolutely stunning.

What a wonderful Heavenly experience we had at this Newel nestled in a very Tranquil Atmosphere. It's Beauty & Hospitality was beyond compare. Happiness & Joy are definitely promoted here. You can feel the Love all over this place with all the attention to detail that was given, not only by all the mouthwatering deliciously delicious food but also the beautiful craftmanship..a LABOR OF LOVE this home was built on. My husband & I now call this "Our" Secret Garden Getaway. You both will always hold a special place in our Hearts. We thank you both so much for this experience of a lifetime and WEWILL BE BACK! If there was ever a place to truly enjoy Heaven on Earth....we discovered it here on the path of Life that lead us there.

Mary Helen's was the perfect retreat for our kayaking getaway. Secluded and peaceful inside and out. Our room was very comfy, the breakfast was excellent and Cindy and Jim were charming hosts. There is much to see and do all around the area, and we are already planning to come back.

This is our 3rd stay at Mary Helens and it never disappoints. Cindy is the sweetest most caring host we have ever had. Her home is beautiful the rooms are decorated with the best attention to detail and the bed was super comfortable. They have a special nook with games, books, movies, drinks, snacks, and a table of essentials you might have forgotten. Each season is decorated beautifully but you can’t miss Christmas. If I could give more stars, I would in a heartbeat! Mary Helen’s Bed and Breakfast is stunning on the inside and out! The home was absolutely gorgeous, clean and well kept! Our room was very comfortable and well stocked and even had a jacuzzi tub! Perhaps the best part though was Cindy and Jim’s customer service! Cindy was so sweet, helpful and kind! When we first arrived she showed us around the house, to our room and explained the basics, which we were very grateful for! She took the time to explain things and have wonderful conversations with us about when she and Jim constructed their home! She took the time to accommodate any of our needs or dietary restrictions! The breakfast was delicious, honestly the best waffle I had in my life! Cindy also offered a gluten free waffle, which was so thoughtful! We enjoyed chatting with her and other guests at the B&B while we ate, it felt like a home away from home! Words cannot describe how amazing our experience was at Mary Helen’s Bed and Breakfast! We will undoubtedly be returning, and recommend it to anyone!

what a spectacular place! Everything was so clean. The owners are totally awesome. breakfast made from scratch and it is so delicious. The cost to stay there is more than reasonable. I sure wouldn't take any kids but it's a great place for a husband and wife or girls time out.

My wife & I booked our stay at Mary Helen's for our honeymoon. Not only was the property extremely well maintained & picturesque, but also the Dewey Suite was the perfect accommodations for our extra long weekend. The owner made us hot, homemade breakfast each morning that was definitely far better than any restaurant! (Her stuffed French toast is killer!!! We had to get the recipe before we left.) The location is also perfect as it's nestled in a quite area that is within ten-fifteen minutes of multiple great restaurants, stores, & quaint little towns for some site-seeing. So, whether you're looking to just get away or do some site-seeing, Mary Helen's is the perfect place. I strongly recommend booking a stay at Mary Helen's; the cost is beyond reasonable, you won't be disappointed & I guarantee you'll want to return.

This was a great anniversary getaway for us. We are from Batesville but Mary Helen's felt like it was it's own secluded oasis.

My husband and I stayed at Mary Helen's place the night of our wedding, and it was exactly what we needed at the time. Quiet and with a beautiful atmosphere, it was a great place to "get away" from the frenzy of our big day! Cindy, the host, was friendly and made a fantastic breakfast for us the morning after our stay. Nothing bad to say about it -- it was perfect for us!

As I stated in a previous review Mary Helen’s is an amazing place to stay! Somehow in in my previous review only four stars were given, this was a mistake. Mary Helen’s bed and breakfast is definitely a five-star experience!

Best bed and breakfast I have every stayed at by far. I travel a lot for work and like to stay at b and b’s. This is by far the most relaxing and beautiful home I’ve stayed in. I would highly recommend visiting, if you have the chance. Thank you Cindy and Jim for the wonderful stay and delicious food!

This is, hands down, the best place I’ve stayed ina very long time, and I do a lot of traveling. The setting is beautiful and tranquil and I enjoyed sitting out by the pond to relax after a long day. The owners are extremely accommodating and went out of their way to ensure that I had a great stay. The food was fabulous and Cindy made me gluten free foods every day. I would think about coming back just to stay here because it is so restful. I don’t understand why anyone would pay the same price to stay at a chain hotel if there are rooms available here.

A quiet, private, and serene setting in which the stage is set as soon as you top the driveway hill and look upon the lake's reflection of the western style two story ranch home set off in distance about 100 yards from you. It is a restful sight just to look at; truly, a story book setting first impression experience. Surely this sight exist in some novel! But that is only the beginning for once you step inside the home it tells an even better tale to tell! You walk into the spacious dining room all set in eclectic homeowner's personal choice style which we found both inviting, pleasantly arranged. The windows are set to flank a view of the lake. The initial entry room itself is a vaulted ceiling. Above you is a partial loft from which you can in turn look down into the dining room. If first impressions are an important step then this one is a big one all by itself. The bare thick wood steps leading up the two rooms tells of solid construction and a well thought out display of western style design. Both rooms at the top of the stairs, opposite each other, themselves are set in western ranch style both of which are fully furnished and inviting bedrooms. The bed called me to lay down on it instantly; it was so inviting! Lots of lights, personal consideration amenities, and other necessities are all laid out in appropriate and comforting intent. The rooms, once shut, leave you in quiet seclusion and comfort. We relaxed easily, slept soundly, bathed pleasantly and dined exquisitely. The hostess gave us a choice of several breakfast foods the night before and met us promptly at the time we requested. Food was served hot, on time, and set before us as if we were King and Queen! We never felt pressed, hurried, worried or otherwise put out in any manner. We Plan To Go Back... and soon! Thank you folks for an excellent experience. We have found a new and winsome way to stay overnight from home. Jim and Cindy get the 5 star award from us! Think me fake? Think again. I am conjuring real world first time experience here! Cindy and Jim were great hosts! They were very kind and the B&B is clean and cozy. The breakfasts were also delicious. We enjoyed the extra touches like the bath robes in the room and the sitting area that had snacks and drinks available whenever we wanted them.

Mary Helens is a peaceful retreat! We have taken our girls trip there for 5 years straight! Love the atmosphere and tranquility. Immaculate home with the sweetest innkeepers. They know how to balance hospitality with privacy. Food is amazing. Home made everything. I’d day it’s just like gramma used to make. But it’s so much more. The peaceful setting and lodge type feel make it even better. I could stay forever. You feel so pampered and refreshed! Plenty of things to do nearby. Oldenburg and Batesville have plenty of shops and sights to see. We look forward to it every year!

Cindy is the most incredible host and my boyfriend and I had the most amazing experience at her Bed and Breakfast!! Neither of us had ever stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before and were excited to get away for the weekend to disconnect from our hustle and bustle and unwind in a quiet area! We went right before Thanksgiving and the house was beautifully decorated with Christmas decor. Our room was immaculate and Cindy took the time to show us where everything was, and how to get ahold of her in case we needed anything! Her and her husband make the most delicious breakfasts that I have ever had. If you’re a breakfast lover, this is the place for you!!! We enjoyed our conversations with Cindy and she was so gracious in helping us find things to do and point us in the right direction when we wanted to look at antique shops and try some of the local food. I highly recommend staying here. We can’t wait to come back!

I cannot say anything negative about our visit here! The place is truly a hidden gem in Batesville!! We came all the way from Washington state for a wedding and this is where we stayed. It was clean, quiet, peaceful, and we felt right at home! Breakfast was so yummy every morning and they were very accommodating to us coming in late at night after wedding activities. We stayed for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed an extra day to just relax with no activities and enjoy the beautiful space they have created. Thank you for everything, we hope to visit again someday!!♡♡♡♡♡♡

This place was beautiful! Very nice, quiet and the house was immaculately clean and flawless. Breakfast was delicious and we had a great night's sleep. I recommend this place to anyone that is in the Batesville Indiana area.

My first stay at Mary Helen's was a few years ago, and I never forgot it. I live in Indianapolis, but needed to stay overnight in Batesville to meet a tour group. The tour company suggested a "chain" hotel, but I looked at other options and discovered Mary Helen's. I'm so glad that I did! It's a beautiful setting surrounded by mature trees, gardens and a pond; just perfect for stargazing. The inside of the cabin is cozy and welcoming, and Cindy is so warm and accommodating; I felt like I was staying over at a friend's. There were snacks, drinks and a gathering area in the loft. A small basket contained other items, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste and other travel essentials, just in case something was needed. Recently, I had the opportunity to stay there again, and it was just as I remembered. If you find yourself in Batesville, I highly recommend Mary Helen's. I'd never stay anywhere else—why would I?

Wow!! This place and the owners will blow you away! Cindy and Jim are the "salt of the earth", the absolute kindest, nicest people. When we turned the corner and pulled into this place, it was like an oasis in the dessert. Absolutely beautiful!! So much attention to detail in the landscaping, the pond, outdoor swings, all the decorations outside... It was soooooo peaceful. When we went inside, we continued to be impressed. The place is immaculate; beautiful, tasteful... You can tell that the Cindy and Jim love this place, take great pride in it and want all visitors to love it to. Finally, breakfast the next day... oh my gosh!! This was fantastic. My wife and I said that next time we are staying for more than a day. Thanks Cindy and Jim for a TERRIFIC stay and memory.

The B &B exceeded all expectation. This was our first stay and Cindy was amazing. My daughters enjoyed her company and still talk about Cindy's strawberries. Beautifully decorated, and just pristine. I am so thankful God led us to Mary Helen's B&B. A perfect get away.

Our family loved everything about our stay at Mary Helen's - the beautiful landscaping, lovely decor, immaculately clean and wonderfully decorated rooms with comfortable beds and lots of amenities. Breakfast was delicious, with peaceful music playing in the background; and Cindy took extra care of us by providing gluten-free items for our daughter. We enjoyed freshly baked cookies and iced tea (by request) on our first evening there. We would love to have spent more time at Mary Helen's and hope to visit again in the future!

Great food, wonderful service and a beautiful setting

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here. My wife loves it and like many others that can write more descriptive than I, it is relaxing next to the water, enjoyed the beautiful decor, and the immaculate condition of the property, house, room, and eating area. If you like peaceful serenity, then this is the place. The breakfast is fantastic! Cindy is the most gracious person one can meet. On past visits we have sat in the reading area and just talked and snacked. Her brownie and ice cream is also fantastic. I'm sure there will be many more visits here in the future! You definitely need to come here if a peaceful area is what you like.

Very nice getaway! Beautiful pond where you can sit and watch the fish swim around. We had a quiet, relaxing conversation and took in the peaceful view, while sitting on the 2 seat swing. Cindy is a very caring and kind lady. She had drinks and snacks out if you would like some. Breakfast was Sooo good!!! Gluten free waffles with strawberries on them. A must try place to stay. Beautiful, secluded setting. Met my sister here for a short getaway and it was perfect! Cindy was such a gracious host and wanted to make sure our stay was comfortable with her attention to detail right down to the beautifully set table for breakfast. She took our breakfast order the evening before and we had a delicious breakfast served to us the next morning. Try the waffles, you won’t be sorry! Thanks Cindy for a lovely place to rest and relax and catch up with my sis! If you have never tried a B&B, this would be a great place to start! You will be spoiled!!

This b&b was an excellent choice! From the moment I walked up the front steps I felt peace and quiet descend. The room was so inviting and comfortable, and the common area was an added bonus where I could find coffee and homemade brownies. I took advantage of sitting outside and reading by the pond which was lovely and relaxing. The breakfast was delicious! It is obvious that Cindy takes pride in her cooking and all the details that make this spot such a great stay. I’m looking forward to going back! The drive is so easy from the Indianapolis area.

From the second you pull into the driveway the place is amazing. This is the first time we visited a B&B and we were nervous but once we were greeted by Cindy we felt at ease. The place is very clean and welcoming. We felt like we were at a vacation hideaway. We will definitely be going back.

As we entered the driveway and the first views of the house, the inviting front porch, the serene pond and multiple sitting areas... after a few days of hard driving, I felt myself relax. That feeling continued as I unloaded the car and entered Mary Helen's. Again, the feeling of unwinding continued. The spacious room, the spacious bathroom and a restful night prepared me for two much needed things the following day: An early morning run and a homemade breakfast! The coffee cake and frittata and the rest of the breakfast was delicious. The proprietor is a delight and her guests, Judy & Bob, good fellowship. If this review is not strong enough, the couple we met have been there 34 times... that is testimony enough. "Thank you" for wonderful memories along our travels, appreciated.
