Amazing! Everything we tried was so good. I had the Eggs Louisiane (pictured). Service was quick and hospitable. Was greeted with smiles by all the staff. Friendly atmosphere. My only honest complaint is that it's very loud. The whole space is filled with happy customers and people waiting to be seated, so be prepared for that, especially if you have a group. However, it is completely worth it and will definitely go back. It's just an FYI in case of sound sensitivity.

The BBQ Shrimp and grits is their once a week special dish that we were so fortunate to devour on our last trip to Covington. I suggest they offer it daily❣️ Although the crab Benedict eggs have been our favorite as well as the perfect waffles. Their wait staff is attentive and their coffee is always fresh. Get there early! Did not take pictures but the eating experience is always on our mind’s eye and tastebuds.

We chose Mattina Bella for our Father’s Day Brunch and we truly enjoyed EVERYTHING about it. We were greeted by one of the owners and she was extremely polite and welcoming. I chose the daily special-BBQ shrimp and grits. My husband had the combo, my dad had the shrimp pepper jelly salad( he substituted the shrimp for redfish) and my children had spaghetti and meatballs. EVERYONE had a happy plate. I highly recommend this FAMILY OWNED establishment.

This is one of the highest rankings that I'll give to any restaurant I've been to. We have been here many times before today and everything is always excellent, food service, etc. Usually has a wait during three time we go but we'll worth it. Today my wife had Eggs Benedict which were perfectly prepared with lots of yolk for the muffin. And her grits were real grits with the right consistency and cheesy like usual per her request. Today I felt like something other than breakfast and had the Veal Penne. It was one of my favorite Italian meals ever. Not thinking of the Italian name of this place, so I wasn't expecting what I got. This was the tastiest, crispiest veal I've ever had with a perfect Italian seasoning blend. The marinara sauce was perfect and not runny like some. Even the bread stick was perfectly toasted and crispy with seasonings. They have a small Italian selection but I'm going to try them all. Rereading the above, I did not overuse the word perfect. If you are in the area, this place is a must in my opinion, the perfect brunch spot.

Everything I’ve had here is great…from any Benedict to Veal Panne. Eating light? Choose the Ironman with grilled tomatoes. Fabulous!

Always a great local place to eat. There may be a wait it's a favorite for many. I enjoy the bacon omelette with avocado, and if you want"real" grits, this is the place to go. Street parking and side lot. A few outside tables for enjoying the day. Friendly and delicious.

I’ve been hearing about this eatery for years from family. Today I happened to be in the area and was taken to Mattina Bella, translation, beautiful morning. The restaurant seats around 85 people in a cozy but spacious and comfortable setting. It’s a classy environment. We were greeted immediately and pleasantly and seated quickly. However I can imagine an opportunity for a conversation during a wait on the weekend. The charming waitress got our drink order but was watchful and could read when we were ready to order. She was able to answer any questions we had and her descriptions were articulate and accurate. The wait time gave us sufficient time to have a leisurely chat and not feel rushed. The Blue Crab Eggs Benedict was absolutely the best I’ve ever had. I’ve worked in seventeen countries and never had a hollandaise sauce as light and heavenly creamy as this. The chunks of jumbo lump crab were very fresh and were well paired with the mushrooms and the eggs were perfectly prepared. They have a kids menu, allow service dogs, don’t allow smoking, and don’t take reservations. The staff was a clear compliment to the food. This was more than a meal, it was a delightful experience. I will return every opportunity I get but fear those opportunities will never be enough! Thanks to my son for taking me here.

Delicious, even though it’s brunch, they’d let me order lunch and I got my order out whenever lunchtime hit. And since it was so loud and crowded in there, I went outside and sat on the bench. It was a beautiful day. I’m lucky that I could take a real fork and real plate and eat my delicious salad. Wonderful upscale diner feeling in downtown.

Great for breakfast or lunch anytime. Love staff, menu, kitchen staff & owners. Food is excellent, great variety always consistently good food. The best part of the experience is the smiles you are greeted with and the overall welcoming feeling of like being at home. There is a sense of busy-ness but added to the joy, laughter and love that is in the air it creats a wonderful atmosphere anytime. And if you come during Saints game you can watch the game while enjoying meal and celebrate with everyone. Yummy!!

Excellent experience!! The spinach artichoke dip was out of this world!! Spaghetti and Meatballs was my fave!! Chicken parmigiana was a close 2nd. Raspberry tea was awesome as well. Service was great as well, we will return!!

I had the eggs benedict. It was very good. Came out very quickly and hot! Coffee stayed full. The staff was very attentive. It was pretty busy but there was no wait. I ate at the bar. I was on my motorcycle so I was able to hop the curb and park next to the building. Street parking seemed to be adequate though.

Great breakfast restaurant. Very diverse menu from traditional to omelets. The pancake are huge. The crab omelet was smaller than I expected. My wife and I split one…mistake. Parking was sparse…riding around block several times, but definitely not a reason to not visit.

This is a must try breakfast/brunch spot! They have people coming to eat until the last minute! We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip for the appetizer. It’s likely the best dip I’ve had but definitely the best homemade chips I’ve had! The chips taste like wontons! I ordered the American Cheese Burger and sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked to order, I ordered medium and the cook nailed it! My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict and she loved it, says it’s 10/10. Our best friend ordered the special, it was BBQ shrimp and grits. She says the shrimp were seasoned perfectly, and the grits were a little greasy. Overall great experience, food, and service! I added pictures of all our plates.

This place is a 15 on a scale of 1-10. I can't say enough good things about it. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. Going for brunch, better go early. There is always a wait because it's seriously that good. The owners have been in the restaurant business a long time, and they have created the quintessential little place in the heart of Covington. You won't be disappointed.

Love restaurants where you can get breakfast and lunch no matter the time! Chicken Parmigian was chefs kiss and I love a well made bloody mary. And those waffles? Delicious! The servers are so sweet, ask for Jessica!

Apart from the incredible experience the restaurant itself was super. Great friendly service, quick service and dear god the salmon omelette is amazing!’ Would suggest serving other coffees like cappuccino but that’s first world problems thsi place now has a low gal customer. I've never been to a breakfast place I which EVERYTHING on the table was PERFECTLY cooked. Can this place start teaching cooking lessons? Seriously, it makes me feel bad that I'm so bad at making breakfast haha! The biscuit was the most heavenly biscuit I've eaten. The bacon was crispy, but not burnt, don't know how they pulled that off. The eggs were fluffy and delightful.

I can't say enough about this place. The food is delicious. The blueberry pancakes are so big and you get 3 of them. Made with fresh blueberries and the fresh blueberry sauce on top makes it to where you don't need syrup. The steak and what were cooked perfectly and it is a ribeye. We also had an omelet and it was so fluffy. Get the potatoes and biscuit as a side. They were so delicious. Definately will be going back!!

This is a fantastic restaurant with excellent food and extremely friendly service that is quick, warm, inviting and welcoming. Perfectly cooked eggs benedict. A very cozy and roomy vibe. Located in Covington, LA. this restaurant is sure to please your appetite. Can't wait til my next visit so I can try out some of the other menu items. Bloody Mary was fantastic. Not strong, not weak, but just right to be paired up with classic eggs benedict. I posted a photo of the bill and some photos of the menu. The menu is no nonsense which I absolutely love. Ever sat down in a restaurant and been handed a menu with 10 pages? I have! And it is overwhelming. Not at Mattina Bella. It's front and back! Love it. A great place for brunch. My sister and I really enjoyed the eggs sardou with spinach,crab omelet, and my nephew said it was one of the best chicken parmesan he ever had. Excellent service, a friendly waitress with a lively ambience of locals and ample portions of food all at a good price.

I had an incredible Crab Lump Omelette. 🦀 The grits had that perfect thick creamy consistency. We were a party of four and we all left overwhelming satisfied. This is our new "go to" breakfast eatery.

Staff very nice. But food was a little disappointing. Coffee was so gross and when I ordered a milk for 5 year old they brought it out with about 6 inches of whipped cream on top— good intentions I suppose but you should really ask before doing something like that. But everyone wants their kids having that especially at 8 am.

I ordered the smoked salmon under the egg specialties. It was very good. All the encounters with the staff was very pleasant. They are able to modify some dishes to avoid certian food sensitivities.

This morning I decided to venture out from Metairie to old downtown Covington. I found this amazing little restaurant tucked away! I was greeted immediately by smiles amd felt the warmth of the staff upon entering. Amanda was my waitress. She recently to moved to Covington from Metairie; it was her 3rd day on the job. I had to laugh because the people in the restaurant all told me, "you're safe here, you don't need your gun". I felt the peace immediately knowing I was SAFE! The food is incredible. I had eggs Benedict with crab meat. Absolutely delicious! They serve PJ'S coffee which to me is right up there with Community Coffee. Thank you to everyone who made me feel welcomed. You made my day! 💓

2/23/22 Went there for breakfast with friends around 7:20. Ordered the low carb eggs and ham. Tomatoes were to be included. They bought out the eggs and ham, but not the tomatoes. So I asked for them since they were to be part of that order. What they brought out were slightly pink tasteless hard tomatoes. Probably turned pink by ethylene gas, but for all intents, the tomatoes were green. It would have been much nicer to have had 4 or 5 cherry/plum tomatoes that had some flavor to them than what was presented. Why would any restaurant do that to a customer? the eggs were perfectly done and the ham was fine. The place has a pleasant ambiance. Eggs and ham are easy to do. You have to go out of your way to serve bad tomatoes.
