There's one word for this place: cool.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND WORKING WITH ANYONE ASSOCIATED MCALPINE MEADERY. ESPECIALLY MELLIE. Not the best platform to do it in but really tired of getting screwed over by Mellie? Booking live music artist, not advertising and then no pay. This place is run by unorganized and sketchy people. I've seen a few great performances, the mead is cheap and delicious but the people who are associated with it are Sketchy and Shady. Amazing atmosphere, Viking decor, family friendly, and literally the best quality mead in Ohio! If not the whole USA! They always have such inspiring artists they showcase and they have been my favorite place to see a show.

We love this place and the mead is absolutely delicious. We drive here often to see our friends bands and hang out with family. All the staff is very friendly and we love that they allow us to bring our dogs in to visit too. Thank you for your hospitality mcalpine meadery!

Not as friendly as it seems. Very and I mean very strange and downright snake like behaviour displayed by certain individuals whom run things. Used to call this place my home. Now I wouldnt go if you paid me.

I came for the Fungi Flows performance and left with so much more... First, Mead is amazing. Highest vibration alcohol, so much so that I will drink it even though I don't drink! So delicious... 🤤 And the people that run this place are the absolute best- for real. When you visit the meadery you immediately feel like treasured family. 🥰 So much friendship to be had here! I am new but I will be travelling 3 hours to come to their events FOR SUUURE <3 -Fae Wildflower

Couldn’t ask for more when you’re lookin for a cute mead spot out in the country. Definitely my favorite place we visited during a weekend getaway to this area. The people that own it are super nice the 4 meads that we tasted were all quite good. Elderberry is the one we bought though. Very good

This place is not a diamond in the rough but a true gem. Mead is absolutely fantastic..met super cool people. 11/10. Gifted people McAlpine mead for Xmas. Can't wait to go back. Buy Dragons breath. Its really something special.

Their stuff is to good for words. Just came home today with two bottles of their raw. Sadly one is gone already...and I can now taste colors. Sweet!

What a fantastic time! Never tried Mead??, this is a must stop if you love wines... took home a few bottles, Dragon's Breath is amazing...if you have an adventurous palate....Great death metal bands....Until D3ath and Something About A Monkey . We had an amazing bartender with super cool pink and purple hair. Everyone made us feel welcome and we had a great time.

This is a little bar that serves wine. They have old world wine selections. They have live music from time to time.

If you like mead do what you can to visit this place. Best mead I've had. Ever. Only place I have ever purchased a case from. It is small, and nondescript from the road. I nearly passed it up. The vibe is unassuming, come as you are. Check out their Facebook page for info on events and music. My only complaint is that I have to drive 2 hours to get there!

We had so much fun when we stopped here. Very midevilish... The bartender was dressed in costume store and so cute and friendly. Wound up with a few bottles of Dragon's Breath Mead to take home.

Lots of meads to try with a wide variety of flavors. I took home a bottle of "Blood of my enemies" The atmosphere is really relaxed and social. D&D campaigns are played, Karaoke is sung, and generally people are having a good time there.

What an amazing find! We were in town and happened to drive by. The Mead itself was some of the best I have ever had and I have tried ALOT of Meads. Made with care, you can really taste the difference. To make the place even better, both of the women who worked with us made us feel like we were best friends that had know each other for years! My husband and I had a blast tastings all the different kinds of Meads and just chatting. If we lived in town, this would 100% be a place that we could be found at all the time! Will certainly be back next time we drive through!

I absolutely love the atmosphere in this establishment. The owners are 2 great guys with big hearts. The mead is absolutely terrific!!! This is definitely a place where you can drink, sit with friends and have a grand time!!! There's even medieval decor arranged all around this awesome place!! I highly recommend!!!

On the way home from 2 days down in Amish country my fiance and I made sure to stop in. Glad we did as meet the owner as well as tasted some great mead. Brought 4 bottles home and im sure we'll be getting more later (mead run on my motorcycle). I want to add that if you like mead please help support them in these hard times.

Best Mead in Northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania

Called about ordering some sour apple cherry bottles since they weren't available on their website, and the owner took my name down and offered to replace my order with what I wanted. Got exactly what I wanted, couldn't be happier. Great selection, have been a happy customer for 3 years and counting.

Discovered at a wine festival. Drove 2 hrs the next weekend to come try some more flavors and get some bottles. Excellent. Great service and a nice easy going atmosphere. Their mead is awesome. I'm lucky they came to my towns' wine festival!

Looked sketch from the outside, and slightly better inside, but the meads were great, and server both knowledgeable and willing to talk. Granted, we were the only 2 there in Monday night. But left with 2 bottles based on all the $1 tastings we did. Would come back for sure.

So .I used to have a Yelp, but l no longer do this review will have to do. My parents have a small vineyard in upstate NY. (Not a winery) so over the years I've had the good fortune of trying good wine. I'm not really a fan of wine. Meade, however is a different story. I don't have it in me to write a long review, but this Meade is amazing. So many different brands and flavors. The other day I even tried the habenero Meade which was good. These guys are killing it . The Elderberry and Pear are 👌 If you haven't yet, check this place out of grab a bottle, you'll be happy you did .

Awesome Mead. Lots of flavors to choose from. Our favorites were pear and strawberry. Also the chocolate covered cherry sangria is amazing. Customer service was excellent. Was a great experience.

Very different. Dragons Breath is one of a kind. Fun to try. Don't go expecting a fancy atmosphere.

Great place to play music. Small and comfy with a good mead selection they make on site. Would be 5 stars but it needs some repairs on the interior and be updated.

Of course, I got there too early, I from what I saw I liked the place. I bought a glass of mead, then left with a bottle. I liked to place. However, I recommend getting there around 9pm

Fantastic mead. It is a normal bar inside. But the people working there is what makes it great. Their mead is the type that you would travel for 2 hours for.

The lady selling me drinks was phenomenal, (she had mermaid hair). The atmosphere is always great the people are great, and I've never had a negative experience at the McAlpine Meadery.

If you want to try something different than the McAlpine Meadery is worth the adventure. A very unique place like no other with very friendly owners. If you do not know what mead is, Mead is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey. They will also add different fruit to add flavors. It isn’t classified as beer or wine, but stands apart in its own type of alcoholic beverage. It’s also known as the oldest alcoholic beverage on earth. Made by Vikings, Mayans, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, and probably pirates too. My favorite flavors are Apple, elderberry, Blackberry, and last but not least the raw Ohio Honey! They ship to 38 states and are in many stores around Ohio. They always have bands on Friday and Saturday. If you have not tried mead then you definitely want to try McAlpine Meadery!

My husband and I went a few days ago. The owners were very friendly, we were the only ones there and we sat and chatted with them while we sampled the mead. We will definitely be hearing back there soon!

Great music. Great atmosphere. Fantastic mead. I highly recommend the grape (if it's available) pear honey, and the wildberry sangria. They even offer samples of you just wanna try it first. There's even pool.
