The food was okay. I ordered a beef arepa and some tequeños and they were both dry and needed salt. I was also confused seeing the menu because a lot of it was Venezuelan food, not Colombian. Tequeños, cachapas, Reina pepiada,and perico are all Venezuelan dishes. Service was great, the staff was friendly and helpful, but the food itself was honestly meh.

One of my favorites downtown! LOVED the empanadas! They are less than $3, but they are tiny (see photo). Espresso was bitter, but I really enjoyed the coffee. They have TONS of sweets, baked goods, breads, areapas, burgers, fries, etc.. this truly is a Latino/Colombian type vibe. The decor is nice, the music is good and the service was great. This definitely makes the top of my list for coffee places in orlando - specifically because it's got the latina america vibe that is so fun, delicious, and welcoming. I spent $10 on a chicken empanada, small coffee and single Espresso. I'll be back for sure!

The strong coffee they served me was cold, the coffee with milk was warm, and the cookies were delicious and fresh.

Nice place in downtown Orlando. I got a dulce de leche pastry that was a tad dry but maybe that's just how it is, it was still very delicious as well as the hot chocolate. Definitely would reccomend.

Normal coffee shop, not Colombian. Little attention to details and order requests, poor response to your errors and service to you. Disposable cutlery I attach a photo of the arepa and the scrambled eggs with ham, They gave them to me by mistake in a sandwich with a croissant.

Excellent and affordable Colombian bakery. Nothing bad to say, definitely give it a shot if you're downtown! Most recently I tried a chicken cachapa, it was made fresh and massive, had to finish it the next day.

I visit the one located on Curry Ford West. I love the service, especially Eduardo, he is very friendly and professional. It was so pleasant that Eduardo remembered me after the first visit. The food is delicious. It's good that I have them nearby and I don't have to go to Lake Underhill anymore.

Absolutely great all around bakery. The empanadas were awesome, especially the Hawaiian and Beef ones. The burger was also a delight, the pineapple sauce was a delicious change from ketchup or mayo. The fries can be skipped, but everything else was top notch for sure. Thank you!

Stopped here after my Starbucks run for some empanadas. The manager saw my cup and asked me what I was drinking, I told him and he said “I promise you, what we have is better.” He proceeded to make me a matching coffee on the house! The coffee was SO GOOD! I ended up throwing away my starbs. Thank you for your kindness. We will be back for coffee soon! You have new forever customers!🫶🏼

It’s definitely quick and Spanish but they speak English too. As soon as I ordered my hot coffee the clerk handed it to me while I was paying awesome stuff they got going on here

I've been going to this place probably once or twice a week and usually the food is alright this time not only the food was warm at best but after spending more than 12$ for 4 empanadas and the smallest orange juice bottle possible i asked if i could get couple extra sauces since everytime i open them they finish either on the ground or on the table due to being hard to open and the lady at the counter wanted to charge me extra for them i looked at her in disbelief in my life i was never charged extra for sauce and losing a customer over 10 cents looks like a financial suicidal in my opinion

Happy hour in the evening with good cocktails in case you miss that expresso that put my energy on 10 all day. The food is fresh and delicious....OKAY REWIND......ALL of the food is delicious. The team they have amazing. Guys don't miss this gem on Hansel Ave. in Orlando. Bonus info :so not expensive. Worth every nickel.🌿🥀🌿🥀

Great selection with several gluten-friendly options and the staff is actually knowledgeable about gluten and dietary restrictions (corn flour is used in the empanadas and several other breads). My wife is gluten-free and had no issues eating here. I tried the loaded arepa (NOT GF, but I loved it) and a yuca cake (also NOT GF, but still loved it), while the wife and kids sampled the empanadas (and they loved it, too). Sadly, we did not try the coffees or other pastries because we were full, but Mecatos is definitely recommended!

I go here every morning for Cafe con leche and it’s honestly the best coffee in Orlando hands down. Also the food is excellent and always very fresh. The staff all know me by name as well and are always very polite and friendly. Can’t recommend this place enough!

This place never disappoints with its delicious recipes from Colombian cuisine! A must try: the arepas, pan de bono and tequeños which are so popular and delicious! Coffee here is also great. Prices typical for the downtown area, nice place to lunch or brunch!

I lived in Lake Nona for a couple of years and the Lake Nona location is the only one I went to. THe staff was always amazing and helpful. I moved away and came back a year later and Ailed still remembered me and my coffee order. I appreciate the always smiling and welcoming faces as I went most often with my young son. My other children and I enjoyed the tequenos, empanadas, arepas, and the espresso lattes. I always buy several bags of the breakfast blend purple label espresso-everytime I visit Orlando. :) This location will always be so special to myself and family, as we shared a lot of great memories with friends. :)

Loved this little Columbian coffee shop & bakery in downtown Orlando. They offer some great food options & the coffee was delicious too. Outdoor seating area is nice if it's cooler or shaded.

Love to stop by with my clients or by myself for a cup of coffee , to grab empanadas or a nice desert. Lots of tables to sit down and enjoy the conversation over a nice cup of coffee or while working on my laptop. Wish more employees at all Mecatos locations would speak English , sometimes having problems with communication.

I enjoyed the food very much and good customer service. I ordered the cappuccino and steak arepas. Also Nutella cake. Everything was really delicious. I will be coming back! Definitely recommend.

Only ever ordered a few little things from here since it's close to my work and I am not a big lunch person but everything has been excellent. The desserts are displayed beautifully and the espresso is delicious. Gave me a burst of energy to make it thru the afternoon lag The empanadas are fully stuffed.

Placed take out order Saturday night around 8pm in person at counter ordered empanadas, pan de bono, buñuelos, the young lady stated she didn't have any but I could wait 15 mins for 8 empanadas. There's only 2 buñuelos and 2 pan de yucas. So I waited for empanadas. When I asked the young lady for the key for ladies restroom because it was locked she said there's only one restroom available the men's and need to wait since it's occupied. While I'm waiting she comes over with a key and stands there and says it's not working. The men's restroom becomes available and the door doesn't lock. Unbelievable. Wasn't impressed with service, wouldn't go back.

A little Colombia in the middle of Downtown Orlando. Super recommended.

Not friendly people at all. The food was good but it was overshadowed by bad service. I showed up today around 7ish and I ordered to go items and the lady got ALLL the orders wrong. I didn’t realize it til I got home. I ordered beef empanadas, and got chicken. I ordered guava and cheese pastry and got guava only. I drove 25 min to see what the hype was and I left with so much disappointment.

Loved their food, snacks and service. Great place for breakfast and lunch. Please try their pan de bonos with arequipe! We recently ordered a tray of mini desserts for the office and everyone loved them. Highly recommended for catering and small gatherings.

Mecatos is perfect for a quick stop in downtown Orlando. The food is good and quick. The menu is also surprisingly large.

One of the burgers I’ve had in orlando that actually reminded me of a Colombian street burger. The patty was cooked on point, wasn’t burned outside and red inside. It was cooked well and still juicy. The sauces for it were also good, not everyone makes a good pineapple sauce. There stuff arepa w/ chorizo also hits home. Sucks there’s no parking at this location but if you work downtown good palce to get some Colombian casual food or bakery

Very bad service. We were waiting for a while, and nobody approached us to tell they will attend us soon, no smile, there were 3 women and it took long time to take the order. I wanted to use restroom and it was closed, we asked if they have keys and they told there is no keys needed, but no one left the restroom at any moment, so we just left the place with not the best expectations

Good food- be prepared to wait but the food was worth it. Stayed in area and googled top breakfast near me and this won! The only negative is we ordered coffee and breakfast sandwich separately and then looked up on board and could have ordered as a combination to save money - my mistake! West Colonial Restaurant: My 3rd visits and same experience. Nice place, excellent food and good customer services. However, the music is too loud and the lyrics is inappropriate for under ages kids and families. Un lugar muy bonito, la comida es excelente y la atención al cliente es buena. No obstante, la música está muy alta y las canciones con palabras obscenas y no adecuadas para niños menores de edad y para las familias.

The bakery was very clean. They had a case of all of the desserts and pastries that they sold. The menu also indicated that they serve breakfast all day. They also serve coffee. It appeared to be alot of Colombian sandwiches. I got the cachopa with Carne asada. It was delicious. I also got a slice of regular cheesecake. My friend got the guava cheesecake. She said her cheesecake was really good. My cheesecake was ok. The wait for our food wasn't very long. There are no fountain drinks that I could see. The staff was very nice and friendly.

Warm welcome coffee and bakery specialties in heart of downtown Orlando An iced mocha it was my preferred this morning!

We've visited many Colombian bakeries and restaurants across Florida; my wife and her family are Colombian. I can say this one was one of the best we've had. I'll let my wife speak to its authenticity and flavor: Stole my husband's phone to review from the POV of someone who grew up eating Colombian meals as a child. It was a quick visit, but we tried many of the Colombian classics; bunuelos, pan de bono, arepa de chocolo, chicken empanadas, and cheese empanadas. The mojo and garlic sauce were very good accompaniments to the above. Everything tastes fresh (not like it was sitting in a case all day). Better yet, it tasted fantastic. We can't wait to go back. Also the restaurant was clean, service friendly, and location good if you are walking around downtown Orlando, Church Street, or visiting Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center for a show.

I love Mecatos. It's one of my favorite places in Orlando. The Mallorca sandwich is a must-have, and there are tons of pastries to choose from. I've never had anything I haven't loved.
