I got a latte and a slide of the cake to go, both very delicious, and my total was just under $10.

Mechanism is an oat milk drinkers dream! They use Planet Oat Milk, which has no added oils (something quite hard to find in nondairy milks - especially at coffee shops). The latte was absolutely incredible and the service was stellar. Will plan to stop by whenever I’m visiting Jacksonville!

Let me just say, this place is a gem! I visited for the first time today and as soon as I walked in I was taken back by how welcoming and peaceful the atmosphere was. The gentleman who greeted me and took my order was very pleasant also. I ordered the scrambler bowl and it was AMAZING! The best scrambler bowl I’ve had. The sweet potatoes was genius! The lavender alpine lemonade was also very good. I’ve been looking for a nice coffee spot atmosphere that’s not super crowded where I could have an occasional change of atmosphere from my normal remote work space, this is it! 10/10 highly recommend.

The espresso is top tier. Not bitter or sour. Exceptional coffee. We love this place.

I was in Jacksonville for the weekend and saw the amazing reviews of this place so I wanted to give it a try. I ordered a basic latte with skim milk and cinnoman and a egg and cheese bagel sandwich. My boyfriend ordered the turkey jamwich, a cookie, and a blueberry muffin. The food was delicious and fresh. The atmosphere was peaceful and cozy. And the inside was very clean. I thought the prices were on par with most other shops. I will gladly visit again when I'm back in the area 🙂

Great experience. Came in after getting some blood work done and was wanting to try a new coffee shop since Starbucks is overrated I really liked the environment seeing all the merchandise it made the place feel like it has a soul. Area was giving minimalist vibes which made it feel extra cozy to sit down and write in my journal. The cherry on top was Evelyn, I asked her to surprise me since I haven't been there before and she made me a vanilla-coconut milk latte which was fantastic. For someone who's not a coconut milk fan she made it work perfectly. On top of (her)being kind, a little chatty and relaxed I can tell it's a pleasant work environment which speaks volumes to the establishment, we need more of this in our community.

Quality coffee and some of the softest and most flavorful bagels I’ve had in Jacksonville. Space is open and airy, feels modern but comfortable. Smiling faces behind the counter. Will be back!

Hats off to the cook. The food was prepared perfectly. And handled our orders in a timely manner considering the fact that the establishment was very busy with the mad rush of customers. Our server was friendly and attentive.

I wanted to try this coffee shop since it’s close by my house and I was not disappointed! The coffee was outstanding- I got the vanilla latte and the beans they use are great. The shop itself is very welcoming! I love all the plant decor and how clean everything is.

I visit Mechanism minimum 1x per week! Work atmostphere is incredible, the coffee is outstanding... What you really don't expect is how great the food. Incredible healthy options and prepared perfectly and fresh. If you're thinking about trying a new coffee place, make this spot a priority to check out!! The owner, Michael and his staff are always so friendly and welcoming!

My latte was delicious! I also had a baked good from their case and it was fantastic. I guess they make the baked goods in house and it shows because it was tasty and moist and so good. Will be back!

Mechanism has easily become my favorite coffee shop! The coffee is amazing, atmosphere is inviting and peaceful, the customer service is incredible and I keep telling everyone about mechanism! Best coffee shop in jax in my opinion & def worth visiting!! I just wish the hours were longer and that maybe in the future the hours would be extended!! :) Great coffee shop! Highly recommend!!!

They roast their own coffee and have pour overs. From light roast to dark roast you can find a great cup of coffee here!

I always enjoy coming in, the atmosphere is great, staff is friendly, and very kind & great service. I highly recommend their egg & sausage on an Asiago bagel. It is the best breakfast bagel I have ever tried!

We were visiting from Hilton Head for a soccer tournament and stopped in. Delicious coffee. Espresso was really balanced and drip coffee was also excellent. Impeccably lean, beautiful espresso machine and service was super sweet. Definitely worth it - we came back for our second cup of the day.

My husband and I had coffee here and it was delicious. I had the organic coffee blend and did a pour over.. (The best way to have coffee in my humble opinion.😉🥰) I also had them put maple syrup in mine. My husband got the expresso shots with streamed milk. I asked a lot of questions and the staff was so kind. They were not annoyed at all with all the questions. We didn't have any food.

Decided to stop in, and I am very glad I did! The service was incredible, what kind people with a great offering. I had an ethiopian pourover that is absolutely lovely... very fruity and enjoyable. My wife loved the iced espresso drink with a pump of flavor and the egg bacon cheese bagel I brought her. The breakfast burrito is also to die for. If you are in the area, stop in! Update: who gave the Scramble Bowl permission to be so delicious? I was expecting something rather basic. But it’s far from that. They really know what they are doing with the seasoning of their food. A clear sign of a great place if you can turn something like this dish with simple ingredients and make it great. Have also had drip coffee on a number of occasions now and it’s always great!

I am a fan of checking quality and taste in coffee places with a hot mocha; no doubts this has been probably my best mocha so far 👏.. The breakfast burrito is something totally different to any place, well baked and soft, beautiful presentation. Host does a GREAT job!!

Absolutely LOVE this place! It’s very welcoming, beautiful and calming. There was a lot of careful thought put into every detail from the color scheme, furniture, decor, lighting, food selection, etc. The service is so warm and friendly. The coffee is DELICIOUS. They have all the coffee varieties to suit any coffee lover. The food.. my goodness.. the first bite always takes my breath away. I have had the nut butter toast and the avocado toast. They were made to order and beautifully crafted. I definitely recommend this place!

This is literally the best coffee I’ve ever had! I live in Charlotte, NC and went when visiting my sister down in Jacksonville and have not been able to stop thinking about it ever since! My sister also had their coffee to brew at home and I couldn’t wait for a cup every morning! We ordered a 5lb back right away! It is also one of the best breakfast bagels I’ve ever had, soooo good! Can’t wait to go everyday when I’m in Florida again!!

I visited Mechanism with some friends to try their Reindeer Flight (holiday inspired coffee flight!) and was so impressed by the flavors! The place itself is super cute, very clean and minimalist but decorated for the holidays. The baked goods were phenomenal, and are even made in-house. Highly recommend!

Simply some of the best coffee I've ever had! You might think that with the attention and care that goes into making such amazing coffee that the food might be an afterthought. You would be wrong. First, it was difficult to pick one thing from all the great items on their food menu. The breakfast burrito I had was as good as you would have at a nice restaurant. To top it all off, the space is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. I will definitely be back!

Love this new roaster! Fast service, great tasting coffee and espresso! Literally the best bagel sandwiches too. I bring all friends and family when they visit. Nicest owners and wonderful ambiance. Way better than any chain, I am now a regular.

Awesome delivery of a classic espresso. Well balanced flavor and body. The mocha was tasty also. Wife got a cold brew and seems to have enjoyed that (she's more picky about her coffee then I am)

The coffee at this shop tastes incredible!! They roast their own beans in house and it’s so smooth and flavorful. I’ve been trying to be mindful of my caffeine intake and I love that they have a water processed decaf without all the chemicals - Bought my own bag for at home because I liked it so much! Atmosphere is super welcoming and cozy. They also have healthy food options which is a huge plus!! Will definitely be back.

This is the coffee shop Jacksonville needed!! We are espresso obsessed and have had excellent coffee in New York, London, Philly, etc. This definitely hits our top 5. Coffee is obviously fresh and artisanal. Food offerings are thoughtful and tasty. Great atmosphere and soft music so you can have conversation or study. Highly recommend!

Wow! Wow! Wow! From the coffee, the food, the service and the atmosphere..this is the best coffee shop I’ve ever been to!!! I went once and had to come back over and over because there was so much more I wanted to try. There are so many delicious things on their menu!! The bagels are full of so much amazing flavor. The wraps are amazing and you feel great after eating them. The bowls are filling, healthy and unbelievably good. All the desserts are to die for! And the coffee!!! It was smooth, tasted so fresh and mixed perfectly with the vibe of the entire shop. Can’t wait to come back for more!!

Bagels are pretty tasteless and small for something that is about $9, but the drinks are quite nice! Employees are nice and provided good service, atmosphere is okay but it's the kind of boringly bland atmosphere you get from a modern industrial design style.

Great vanilla latte and friendly staff!

As someone who drinks a lot of coffee and was a barista for 3 years. This is the only place in Jacksonville that deserves 5 stars. You will immediately taste the difference in coffee bean. If you are not addicted to coffee like I am, they have great internet, a nice area to work in, and soft unobtrusive music.

Welcome to the neighborhood! Definitely worth a visit! Was greeted kindly. Offered samples of the drip coffee (very impressed) as I asked questions about what to get. Ended up ordering a maple cold foam cold brew which was delicious! Didn’t order food but the menu sounded delicious. Lots of great seating inside and out. COMFY chairs inside!!! Bless. In love with this place already. Quality coffee beans, drinks have balanced flavor and taste delicious. The breakfast burrito is awesome. It has sweet potatoes in it which is different for me and adds a great sweetness. Service is top notch as well. I ordered a drink hot instead of iced by mistake and they happily swapped it out for me without me even asking! Nice simple menu with great healthy options. Glad this place is right by my house, I'll definitely be a regular here.

I’m obsessed with this new coffee spot. It is light and bright, while still managing to be warm and cozy. The staff is friendly, and the food and coffee are absolutely incredible! The beans are roasted on site, which is evident in the quality of the beverages. (I’ve had a cappuccino, iced latte, and a pour over and have been thrilled with each drink.) They have a really original menu that is perfect for something light to accompany a beverage, or for a heartier meal! They even have a kids menu that my daughter keeps asking to go back for. It’s a rare place that offers impeccable ambience with Instagramable aesthetics, AND phenomenal coffee, AND delicious food, AND is friendly and welcoming?! But mechanism does it all. And it does it so well. Hands down our favorite spot in the area. It’s for sure worth a visit, and it’ll probably become your favorite new spot too. Oh, the chocolate chip cookie is our new fav, but we devoured it before a photo.

New coffee shop in the Gate Parkway area which we were excited to try for awhile. Great calming ambiance with lots of seating and plants. Music is not too loud and very pleasant. We got two decaf pourovers which were very good. Sometimes coffee can taste too watered down or too acidic but our coffees were perfectly balanced. They also roast their coffee beans in house so we trust their freshness. Prices are what you'd expect for a local coffee shop. Service was good. Overall a good experience and would recommend supporting this new local business!
