We stayed with Mellow Ventures for our 30th Anniversary. Absolutely amazing and beautiful experiences, we would definitely do this again. Rob made sure we had everything we needed to have a fantastic time!

We really enjoyed our half day eco tour. They were great with communication ahead of time all the way until day of service with particular attention to trying to accommodate our specific trip requests. Our guide was very friendly and worked hard to ensure the best time possible. Will book again next time we’re in Key West.

Thank you Rob for the experience of staying the night on the Outpost. This is by far the best place to stay while in key west. It is in such a beautiful location with the perfect view of sunrise and sunset. The amenities that come along with it only made for a more enjoyable time. There is so much wildlife in this area anytime I’d look in the water I’d see something and be amazed. Rob is an amazing captain and has made this first trip to the keys for my girlfriend unforgettable. We will be sure to be staying with you again. After staying the night on the boat be sure to book an eco tour with them so you can see even more of what the keys have to offer and see secluded beaches with no one else around. If you need a place to stay in key west or want to have a great day on the water, Mellow Ventures is the way to go.

My husband, 18 yr old daughter, 15 yr old son, a family friend and I went out with Captain Mitch on 01/27/2024 for almost 6 hours. It was AMAZING! The owner Rob asked what we were interested in seeing and then Mitch made it happen. It was like a ‘Make Your Own Adventure,’ that met EVERYONE’S wishes. My son wanted to see birds. We went to an island that looked like the trees were growing pelicans. My daughter wanted Instagram-worthy moments and LOTS of sun. I wanted to see marine life. We saw a baby hammerhead shark! My husband and friend wanted to relax and drink a few beers. All boxes checked. Even the office lady, Betsy, was awesome when we had to make a change in our plans. I HIGHLY recommend this outfit!

This was a great afternoon on the water with Captain Mitch! If you want to experience the nature of Key West exploring islands of mangroves while paddle boarding and snorkeling, seeing wildlife and the natural beauty of the area, this is the trip for you. A fun afternoon exploring with a super knowledgeable captain and guide.

One of, if not the best in key west!

We had the most wonderful time with Mitch. We were able to snorkel a ship wreck and enjoyed time at Boca Grande. (If you believe in prayer, Mellow Ventures was a clear answer for me in such a surprising way, that I laughed out loud!) As we departed the marina, we passed Trumbo Point. We cruised along the military base house/street I lived on in 1965. God is amazing and sent me to Mellow Ventures for a gift of a lifetime!

This was a disorganized and unsafe experience. We booked based on the amazing reviews but our experience was nothing like what was written. Our captain was pretty terrible. He showed up late and I overheard him arguing with the staff about how late he was. He came up to me and told me he had no idea what this charter was despite all info being provided when we registered directly with mellow 3 weeks prior. He immediately told me likely we wouldn’t be able to go to any of the places we wanted (all listed on mellow website and reviews). His experience with kids/people left a lot to be desired. He did not ask anything about us, our trip, or make an effort to explain anything. He watched us as we struggled up and the stairs with kids and flippers. We have done many boat excursions before, we have never had a captain that apathetic. He was also really unhelpful and we felt unsafe multiple times on the charter. The only available seats on the boat were padded coolers that were not affixed to anything on the boat. On the return home the coolers were flying towards us while we had to shield our kids with our bodies. After sharing this information we were refunded $100 of the $880 we paid. Editing to address the owners response: -The coolers were in fact untethered and flying all over. I have attached a photo of me holding them away with my leg. -we actually left 30 minutes after the scheduled time, and had been waiting 45 minutes total because we arrived 15 minutes early as your website requested. - We left a tip despite all that is written because I felt it was appropriate.

Amazing morning and afternoon on the water! Everything was relaxed and peaceful and my husband and I had a wonderful time with Captain Mitch. Saw some great wildlife while paddleboarding and couldn’t ask for a better day in Key West.

Great folks, great boat trip, Captain Libby is excellent. The only issue is that it's not specified very clearly that nothing is included on the trip. We rented a tiki boat for my family of five. We took the sunset tour which lasted two hours. We also rented the whole boat for only our family during this pandemic to be as safe as we can be, well worth the money even if no pandemic. What a blast. Took a Tiki boat out for a couple hours. We buzzed around for awhile and indulged on adult beverages. Eventually we anchored and jumped in the water for a dip. After a bit we returned. This cafe has been one of my staples for a couple years. When I lived in KW, I ate here 3-5 times a week and sat at the bar with my laptop for hours. The menu is full of very healthy and yummy options. The tacos are excellent - especially the breakfast taco. Wild boar taco! There’s usually some kind of special nibble of some sort too. Of note: Overnight oats are a very healthy and energy loaded breakfast option. Those on a keto diet will find the bulletproof coffee to be a pleasant surprise. Beer selection is wide, varied and changes often. Service, pricing and quality of food is at an optimal ratio that exceeds most of the standards you are usually stuck with in the keys when not forking over hundreds. Not for serious sportsmen. This could be a suitable outfitter for families looking to paddle around some pretty backcountry, though. First of all, we booked a private fishing tour, and found out when we got to the dock they were trying to put us together with another group and only fish for about an hour. Stopped in on my way to my hotel from the airport and ended up going back everyday I was in Key West. Great selection of beer, awesome service, fresh healthy happy ingredients. We were looking for an "off the beaten path" afternoon and called Mellow Ventures. We took a mellow venture eco tour half day while on vacation. Lisa was very knowledgable on the ocean life. She made sure we were able to see a variety of stuff while on the paddle boards and the boat. She was friendly and a great tour guide! We enjoyed it so much, we ended up going on a full day tour with more of our family. The full day was great! Will was our tour guide for the day. He took us to new places so we would see different things and have a different experience from the half day. Another great day! I would highly recommend Mellow Ventures to everyone! This is the best kept secret in Key West. If you are looking for a private tour of some of the best water and paddle boarding, this is the place. We did a half day Eco tour of the mangroves on paddle boards today and the water was absolutely beautiful. You know all that colorful water you see from the bridge coming in, well you got to play in that today. By far this is the best adventure you will find in Key West. Our guide Lisa was very knowledgeable of all the plant and aquatic life around the island. We found Cassiopeia (the upside down jellyfish), a couple of sharks, lots of southern rays, and many different types of fish. Afterwards we floated in the ocean and chatted the rest of the day away.
