Taco Bell had a better taco salad then this place pretty much tasteless. I literally ate 4 or 5 bites and tossed it in the trash and had to get something edible. They ask which dishes I would recommend. The answer is go elsewhere.

Tried to order online, but there was no option to select certain meals and nowhere to put in payment. Called in, and the lady was very friendly and prompt. Got my food home, and it was still hot, good portions, for the most part tasty. The red sauce had a little kick, which I liked, but it overpowered the flavors of my meal. Overall, it was good and it's improved from years past. I'll give it another try again.

Fresh food. Great meat/cheese dip for chips. Great sauces/gravies for the various dishes: red, white and brown types. This place is a GF long time Mexican restaurant and it remains great and consistent. Will go again and again. Great specials too.

We LOVE this place and visit frequently when we're back in town. PLEASE consider one thing - change the sign at the checkout register to say, "We offer a 3% discount for cash!" rather than listing that you charge extra for card users.

Celebrating daughter's birthday so got a free Mexican Fried Ice Cream! Such good food!!

Always a favorite, but come early because a lot of other people consider it a favorite too!

When I asked her "is this BROWN GRAVY my enchiladas she smiled and said "yes isn't it great" when I told her "no its really not" she offered to remake the enchiladas with CREAM GRAVY. the staff were sweet girls and they did carry the abomination far from me but the food was very disappointing. Who puts mashed potatoes and gravy in a Mexican burrito?

Over the years the Mexican Village in Grand Forks ND has been a landmark for quiet reasonably priced quality food. Service is great. Keep up the great job.

We ordered online, my burrito was extremely salty and my wife's quesadilla was only cooked on one side with plain tortilla on top. Hopefully it was a fluke but this experience was disappointing!!

Food to go,won't include chips & salsa unless ordered extra....get them if you dine in, called ,ask why ,management got very rude and defensive what a jerk never go there again and food wasn't that good

I love Mexican Village!! My favorite meal is getting the plain burrito but smothering it in their bean dip!! So delicious. Definitely check it out.

I have to completely honest, Mexican Village isn't my favorite place to go for Mexican food in Grand Forks. My visit on this day was a very good experience. The main reason for that was the dessert. It was amazing! It was an apple pie type deal with their cinnamon ice cream. It was heavenly! I totally recommend this dessert!!

The food is always consistently good. I said that 7 years ago and it is still true.

This place is awesome! The food is always great especially the chips and salsa! The only thing I wish this restaurant had is delivery on Uber eats or DoorDash! I really hope they consider this as I bet they would get a lot more customers to enjoy this wonderful food!

One of the good places for affordable Mexican & little to no wait. Not entirely sure it's authentic but it's still good! We just went there & they have a new fall menu that you really should try. (Hopefully they move the two things we had to the regular menu). We had the guac as an app and it wasn't quite what we were expecting but it was okay. Really creamy (no chunks like you expect) and could have used a touch more salt and/or lime. We had the Mexican Jambalaya, flavors were awesome, rice was a tad dry for our taste but it was made with Spanish rice, but the fried shrimp...just give me a plate of those & I'd be happy. They were terrific! We also had the Mexican Street Corn Po'Boy and that was fenominal!! A chipolte tartar, spicy coleslaw, corn salsa, & the same perfectly fried shrimp...I was in heaven! We love the friendly staff that always greets us with a smile & we will always continue to come back.

As good as it's always been forever. Have to eat there whenever in Grand Forks. Can buy their seasonings, which I do, but just isn't as good as eating there.

It is an affordable and clean restaurant, there are small sections for each table, I liked the concept. People were nice and welcoming. The rice and beans were little dry though.

That was the worst Mexican food I have ever had. What's up with putting brown gravy on everything. I had a chicken chimichanga. My wife had a chicken boritto. Both were filled with dried out chicken with nothing else in there. Who makes a boritto without beans. For the price we expected the meal would come with bean or rice. Nope. Hate to say it we would of been better off going to taco bell. I gave them two stars because we like the atmosphere and service was pretty good. Still will never go back until they learn how to make Mexican food.

Stopped in today for a late lunch. The staff was friendly, just a few tables filled with people, so our waitress was prompt in taking care of us. There are no lids for the kid cups, so I suggest bringing your own if you have little ones. Food came out hot and looking good. Portions were sized well. I finished my meal and was satisfied. However, it wasn't awesome. Average tasting ~ is not high on my can't wait to return list. Stop in and give them a try. Let me know what you think.

Nice place and has a friendly atmosphere; however, the food needs more character and improvements in flavors and originality. Most of the food and salsa taste straight from a can. **Bring Cash, or you will be charged 3.5% for using any card.

This restaurant has huge portions! Excellent flavor First Mexican restaurant ever in Grand Forks ! I just loved the service and the aroma from the kitchen . Mmmm 🤤 I'm going back . The salsa was fantastic and you can buy the seasoning here as well . Mmmm ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Waiter very unfriendly. Cheese enchilada was dry and had to ask for sauce .Shrimp taco was a softshell with 3 small shrimp. Nothing else on shrimp taco Chips tasted old and soda was weak.Waiter never came back and asked if food was okay or if we needed more chips or drinks. Very expensive for what we got and very poor service.

I’ll give it a 3.5 ⭐️ but that rounds to a 4 ⭐️ since half stars aren’t allowed. It was pretty good but just in the average range, nothing particularly special. I had the mixed fajitas. The chips and salsa were good; the salsa grew on me the more I ate it. The waitress was friendly and very attentive at first but at the end when we were ready for a box and the check, she walked right by us many times without stopping to check on us. We probably waited like 15 minutes from the time we were done eating before she finally stopped to ask if we needed anything else. She was very busy, but still. Anyway, other staff were also very nice. The main thing I’m downgrading for is that they don’t have a bar/no way to make drinks. I wanted a virgin margarita but they were unable to do that because they only had pre-made margarita mix that already had alcohol in it. I think a virgin margarita is a pretty basic thing Mexican restaurants should have. (There were no other special drink options to offset either such as bottled Mexican pop like Jarritos; they only had plain old pop.)

Everything here is always wonderful. Service is great, food is delicious and hot and fast. Totally worth it.

Food was okay and on par for Mexican villages expectations. Servers were extremely polite and apologetic for the time to teach us. It was not that bad in any sense, for they were busy, keeping with the tables, and extremely understaffed. Only 3 stats because it's Mexican village. Looking forward to going back when they have more staff :)

I'm 100% biased to love this place. My Grandparents owned and ran it for around 30 some years and sold it to a lovely family 20 years ago. The food is consistant and brings a smile every time I'm there. MEXICAN pizza is my go to. The service has always been friendly!

I have been going to Mexican Village since I was a child. I liked it back then and I like it's still. I was there last week and last month and everything was delicious and the servers were great! Will definitely return again!

You food is spectacular But.......your restaurant is very dirty, the menu I got had food on it, all of your surfaces are all with grease and dust, things that are hanging on the walls are ready for a good cleaning or out with the old in with the new. I went to the restroom with my grands and I seriously could not believe the baby changing table in the women's room, it is soooo dirty that a baby should not be changed on it. I am a cleaner and I notice things that most people don't see. You need to do some get into corners, and edges of your tables clean the carpet, your entry door is almost black with other people's dirt, I noticed it right away as I walked in. Nightly there needs to be a bucket of soapy water and wipe every surface that your customers touch ALL THE TIME!!!

We ordered the California burrito and chimichanga. The food was hot and delicious. We got our food fast and hot. The waitress was friendly and understanding about that fact that we had a 20 minute wait for our last guest to arrive. All around great place to eat!

The Server was awesome! She made sure everything was perfect. You can tell she is seasoned as she seriously the most thoughtful, kind, person we came into contact with!! Reserve the area Nicole serves in!!! She is amazing!!!

I was there..gravy was thicker and tasted a bit burned..also lot of grease on plate. I told cashier..she came and looked.. No...sorry bout that..no compensation for it like that.....just no nothing... Not caring too much about there customers and how food is... I've been eating there years and years.. They dont do refunds, even if food is not The best on the day u go there.. So a few times like this..gets worse.. I'm rethinking my choice of where to eat.

Low cost, good food, good service!

Due to covid I have not been able to get my" fix" at Mexican Village since 2019. It was every bit as good as I remembered. Had the lunch burrito, beef, the mole is delicious and chips and sauce great. Service is always friendly and fast they have kept their prices relatively low compared to other restaurants in the area, which is an added bonus that keeps me coming back.

Have eaten at many Mexican restaurants and there are many good ones out there. One thing about all the goods ones is they are all the same. The one thing great about Mexican Village is for 60ish years they have put their own twist on Mexican style food. That works very well for me and for a lot of other people.

As always, the service was fast and the food excellent for what it is. My only quibble was the extra hot "witches brew" salsa was rather on the muld Sid.

Had dinner here earlier around 7pm, food was very mediocre, the only good thing about the food was the rice and the queso for the chips. The service was terrible and then to top it off on the check they added their own tip. I could understand adding a tip on the bill if you were someplace like texas roadhouse or red lobster with better quality food. The salsa tasted like it was straight out of a can of just crushed tomatoes, the beans tasted like they were straight out of a can as well and were very bland like you didn't even try to hide the fact they were from a can. The burito that I had was gross and dry. But enough about the food. Our waitress didn't even care enough to stop and check on us to see how the food was, left my boyfriend having to ask for a refill on his drink as she passed by the table more than once without even checking to see if we were alright. Another patron of the restaurant had to chase a waiter down and ask for a refill for his drink. All in all a very horrible experience and we will not be back to the establishment. I hope people read the reviews and realize the bad reviews are the very thing that will happen to them unless the place trains their wait staff better, allows the customer to choose the tip because the tip you gave yourselves is that of excellent service and this was piss poor service. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

"Mexican" food. lol Mexican food is my all-time favorite, and I travel all over the place eating at every Mexican restaurant I find. This is, by far, the worst I've tried. The fact it has so many great reviews baffles me. North Dakotans have no idea what Mexican food is supposed to taste like. Edit: Just realized the owner had a cute little passive aggressive response. That certainly won't help make me give it another shot. I personally thought it was awful, and I'm entitled to that opinion. No need to tell me how world famous and great you are and how wrong I am.

Near rice I've had in a while and rhe jalapeño tasted like actual jalapeño. Hands down great food. Will return

A rather mundane experience. Mexican Village is what you would expect Mexican food to taste like in North Dakota. Not very authentic. The atmosphere is quiet but not very Mexican either, unless you count the Halloween style Christmas tree. All in all, a pretty plain Jane, blasé affair.

The best Mexican food you'll find in Grand Forks. Hands down! Every trip to GF, requires this to be one of our stops

Lived in GF for 46 years. We would eat there a few times a year for something different. Never really understood why some people raved about the place... Or the other "Mexican" joint just up the street. Must be that it's been in the same spot since Dakota was a territory...Just kidding. Food is average to decent. Service has always been good. Very friendly. Nothing underwhelming or overwhelming. Perhaps a bit overrated by certain locals, definitely hammered by the usual trolls. I did like the combos offered for variety. It is nice to see a place like that keep plugging along through thick and thin. Something to be said for that!

I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews. This place was really great! Service was phenomenal. Aubrey was our server and ready topped of our week in Grand Forks. The best server of all the Restaurants we visited this week. And the food was excellent. Portions were good sized and it was very easy on the pocketbook. Highly recommend you give this hidden gem a try.

Always fast, friendly service. I love coming here for a quick but sit down, good meal. They get you chips and salsa right when you sit down until you can't eat anymore, it's great.

My family and I love Mexican food. Here in Grand Forks, they have a few. This one is located in a little strip mall type area and the atmosphere is really nice. My wife got the steak fajitas and I ordered the Fiesta Platter. The platter was really good but my wife's fajitas left something to be desired. I'm her words, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't something to write home about either. To me, the steak strips were a bit thick to be fajitas and there wasn't any seasoning on them. It's not a bad spot for the price though. My family of four ate for under $50.

Haven't been here for a long time due to COVID. This was our first venture out. Staff was very helpful and friendly as usual. Food was greatly improved both in quality and quantity. Very impressed! This will definitely be a go to place! A big thank you to the owner who was running the register during our visit.
