Great food, seldom crowded. We eat here whenever we go to the airport to pick someone up & it's not too late.

I love the food, and I’ve eaten here or gotten takeout since they opened many years ago. I’ve finally quit ordering however as if I ask for my food to be hot/spicy it frequently isn’t, and despite the food being consistently high quality it’s frustrating to spend $60 and not get what you want. I’m an Englishman, but my mother is also Indian. If I ask for it spicy in person I get what I want. I’ve even mentioned that I really actually want it spicy on the phone, but it’s barely a medium. Essentially it’s a service issue. Lamb Saag is my go to. Their biryani isn’t great, a real one takes eons to cook, like burnt ends, if they are always available they are faking it.... Everything else is great.

Did not disappoint. Portions were wonderful. I was in heaven with the onion and garlic naan. I'm so glad I found this place. 10/10 and I can't wait to go again. Thank you!

Great food, quiet and pleasant Indian music of different kinds. Everyone was very kind throughout our meal and anticipated our needs very well.

The chai is my favorite part. It's literally the best chai I have and will ever have. The employees are also really nice. They're Always ready to give you refills. Although the buffet is closer it's really good food. The butter chicken goes amazing with rice. I highly recommend this place.

Biryani didn't taste like it. Had miscommunication but no big deal I was not happy with the experience because I was craving for biryani but it was something else. Tandoori was very dry and smelled of burnt.

The Korma was delicious, but I ordered plain Nan and received garlic Nan. This may seem trivial, but I ordered plain for a reason. Wish I had realized the restaurant had substituted garlic for plain before eating a portion of the bread. Have been going to Moti Mahal for years, but this was my first delivery. I thought i would receive the same service. Won't be returning or ordering online. .

Really great Indian food! My favorite place changed ownership and their food is terrible now, so I've been looking for something good for a while now. It was very refreshing to find something fairly comparable. The curries were absolutely beautiful and silky smooth. My Indian food craving is finally satisfied.

Uncooked chicken , its not indian food, God knows what it is !!!!

The curries and naan they have are so good every single time, and I’ve been eating here for almost two years. I would recommend this place to anyone. They are partnered with Menufy which makes ordering super convenient, but I would recommend calling it in to avoid the fee.

Stopped in for my normal service and on my way out I grabbed a order of butter chicken and I was blown away by the taste of the sauce and the tenderness of the chicken will definitely be coming back 😋

We are here for national meeting at Embassy suite. And was in the mood for Indian. Moti Mahal did not disappoint. Food was flavorful garlic naan was nicely done. I asked for spicy on the 8 scale out of 10. To me it was not too spicy. But the onion/chilie/lemon salad I asked for was wrapped and the chilies in there were spicy. I think they were Serano peppers.. but hit the spicy mark for me. Definitely went back in town. I will order for Moti Mahal. I called them for a question, and they were very polite, and took the time to answer my questions.

Love Moti Mahal! Typically get the butter chicken with garlic and onion naan - my favorite! However, recently we tried the tandoori chicken - excellent! Moist chicken that is amazingly seasoned - not spicy at all! Today I tried the potato and pea pratha - yummy! I don't like rice so I typically pour my butter chicken over the naan to eat. Today, poured it over the pratha and it was excellent. I spent about 40 dollars today, and this will easily be at least 3 meals - and that is without the rice, with rice I bet it would be at least 4.

Food is generally good but last couple times my chicken dishes have not been piping hot which leads me to believe it's left over food from day prior as the chicken is also dry, also the veggie pakoras need to be cooked longer as they were borderline raw this time and they should bring their buffet back.

My new favorite for Indian food north of the river,the lentil soup was great lentils were tender with a wonderful savory broth, onion kulcha was great the chicken tikka saag was delicious, then did the Gulab Jamun(dried milk and cheese deep fried in sweetened rose water)and the rice pudding, great food, service and atmosphere.

I got yellow dal, basmati rice, and garlic naan from doordash. It was still flamming hot when it got to me. The portions are quite large and the food is delicious. You definitely get your money's worth. I had food enough for lunch, dinner, and a snack. I will definitely be ordering again! :)

Even though I was the only one dining in. Quite a few came in to get their to go orders. The food to me was enough for a 2nd or 3rd meal. The chicken was tender, the sauce...my God I could happily drown in it. The Naan was both tender and crunchy. Except for a bit of sauce falling onto the white of my blouse; the whole experience was one of absolute pleasure.

On way back from MCI Airport stopped at this place for Family dinner. Food was fresh and perfectly spiced. Great Veg and Non Veg options for Indian food lover. Great staff and personalized service. I will definitely recommend this place.

Open til 2:30 pm. I came at 1:55, grabbed the menu and made an order at the "bar". The server invited me to sit any anywhere. I got a table that was set for one person. After washing my hands in the restroom I sat back down. The server poured water to a couple that was having lunch at a different table and asked me if wanted some water as well. I said yes, but she hesitated as she mentioned the order had to be a carry out only and that I could not consume it there. Confused, I confirmed their closing time was 2:30 and asked why the other people could eat in. No clear response was given. I walked out

The naan at this restaurant is heavenly. I don't think I ever tasted naan so good. I wish they had the buffet open. No complain on food. Great people!

Awful. Ordered food to go. Was charged for food. Was told it would be approximately 25 minutes. Then told food would be 45 minutes. Then hour. At this point the restaurant was about to close. At an hour and a half out, I was told that I had already picked up food. I definitely had not. At this point all other restaurants in the area were closed.

Food was too spicy i bought saag and it tastes like chilly saag 🥴. Though they gave me complimentary tea and staff is very helpful.

This place is fantastic. I wasn’t there on buffet day but the food was unbelievable. So delicious. I just happened to pass it and saw some hole in the wall Indian place and thought it was worth a try and I’m glad I did. I highly recommend.

Very delicious food, one of my favorite. A little pricey however usually my significant other and I can split a dinner and both be full with some naan as well. Would suggest the butter chicken or mushroom chicken!

The food is always delicious. They have the best Indian buffet with so many selections. The best chai tea and naan as well! The naan is flaky and soft. The price of the buffet is very nice. The single dishes can be a little pricey. Food is wonderful tho!

Best Indian food in the city. I live downtown and will drive up to this location because it if by far the better of the two location.

First visit since the pandemic. Every bit as good as previously. We shared a medium spicy Chicken Tikka Masala with rice and a Garlic Naan. My partner had a glass of red which was very drinkable and I had a Maharaja beer which was good. Service was friendly and efficient. It’s a 5-minute stroll from the Springhill Suites Marriott where we were staying. Perfect!

Moti Mahal was great it was a nice restaurantwith some amazing Indian art. The Naan was amazing and the best we have had from any restaurant. 😍 We decided to try 2 different types one garlic and the other cheese. It was like it was made fresh just for us, right out of the oven and wonderful! We also ended up getting 2 dishes: mild chicken Tikka masala and a medium chicken vindaloo. They were both great the chicken vindaloo was spicy and got my face a little pink but I could not stop eating it then I would switch to the Tikka masala and give my mouth a little break. The service was great they filled my water cup 3 times 😆 🤣 just a little spicy for me but I would do it again!! With the two of us eating till we were crazy full we still had enough food left over for lunch the next day. This was a great experience and a wonderful date evening. Everyone was very relaxed and it was nice to just sit and have a conversation outside of the house without kids and not be rushed out.

We only ordered a few appetizers and a lassie because we didn't have enough time to actually eat but from what I had it was good. I will definitely be coming again to get a proper meal.

Had a lunch since I wanted something spicy. Ordered vegetarian samosa as it was recommended by waiter. The samosa was really big so I couldn’t finish my lunch. Tried Tandoori chicken and butter chicken. Both tasted pretty good tho I think the tandoori chicken would be more juicy if the skin was on. Butter chicken was creamy and good with Naan bread or chicken.

The food was delicious! I had their butter chicken. I usually go to Swagat Cuisine for Indian food. However, the last time my coworker and I went it took too long on our lunch break. I was expecting the buffet. But I guess due to the pandemic they stopped providing the buffet. That didn't matter though because again this place was awesome. I just wish the hostess would've been a little more friendly. Other than that, I loved it!

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would, I went to this restaurant with my friend and the food was terrible, didn’t even touch my food and they still made me pay, refused to give me a refund.

2021 We love the food here. But the last time we were there they told us they were no longer doing lunch buffets.

This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Kansas City. We love their lunch buffet that they had before COVID, the value could not be beat. We have been waiting for the buffet to return, but I'm not sure how soon that's going to be.

Do yourself a favor and order the Chicken Tikka Massala and some Garlic Naan Bready. Service was great and the food is AMAZING!

The food is great. I give it 4 out of five because the to go side of there buisness really takes away from the dining experience. People are always coming in and out and we waited close to 35 to 40 minutes for our dishes. With 3 other parties seated before us. The butter chicken was great...and the chicken vindaloo was very spicey as asked for and my boy loved the byriaani. And it looks as though the buffet will be out for a while.

Went there with co-workers. I am very picky about Indian food, so I was unsure on this place. The food blew my mind! Extremely delicious! I highly recommend and I will be back!

I LOVE this place. I have never dined in only because COVID happened before my wife and I found this gem. We have ordered from them over and over. The food portions are always more than enough. The consistency of the cooking and flavors are the same every time we have ordered from them. The staff are always friendly. I am down for eating food from Moti Mahal any day.

We have always had a great experience at Moti Mahal. The staff is super friendly, the space is clean, and the food is one of our first choice go-to restaurants. Their tandoori chicken is, in my opinion, the best I've had. During COVID we made sure to get take out from a couple of places that we wanted to make sure didn't go under and this was definitely one of them.

Im not a review writing person, but I'm compelled to write write one for Moti Mahal, my new favorite KC restaurant. The food was so good I want to go back an give everyone a hug.

I've lived by here for what seems like eternity. And I finally decided to give it a try tonight. And I honestly feel foolish it took me this long to find out what a jem this place is.

This is our favorite Indian restaurant. The food is so delicious every time and service is on point.

They are still doing take out only, but it is always fresh, hot and tasty. I ordered the lamb curry on this visit. It was absolutely tender and delicious. The spice and heat level was perfect. Can't wait for indoor dining (especially the buffet) to resume!

A+++++ rating for this place! Tonight was our first time trying it, and oh my was it AMAZING. The first thing we noted when we picked up the food was that it smelled incredible. We couldn't wait to get home and try it. We placed our order online and it was ready exactly at the promised time. Everything was correct, and SO delicious. Try the shrimp tikki masala, the samosas, the lamb curry, and the garlic naan. You will not be disappointed! I can't speak highly enough of our experience. We will be back and SOON!

This restaurant is wonderful! The food was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely. Our waiter Gibbs was awesome, patiently answered all of my questions (I'm vegetarian) and had amazeballs recommendations! I had another Indian food restaurant I frequented prior to Moti Mahal I but I have switched and Moti is my go to place and recommend to all my friends in KC.

Excellent flavor to heat ratio on the spicy chicken curry. A little sweat on the forehead but not blindingly hot. Just the right size portion to fill me up with a side of garlic naan bread. Will have to come back and try some more dishes.

I am a chef writing under a pseudonym I’m pretty well known in the Kansas City area. Selby chef on ig. I have gotten different items each three times I’ve been here and the flavor and freshness of the ingredients is just out of this world. The seasoning as well thought out and perfectly seasoned. The spices make me feel like I am in Delhi. I’ve been to many Indian restaurants in this one stuck with me it is a great hole in the wall and I would recommend it to anybody. Before Covid they had a Buffay I’ve never been to the buffet but if it’s anything like what I’ve experienced and carry out I don’t know how the heck they would make money because I would eat it all. The staff is wonderful you could tell his family run and with every order they always give me a free chai and I believe they do that to everybody. The chai is absolutely delicious and you could tell it’s sweetened with honey and not sugar. This place goes above and beyond what most Indian restaurants do. And it is reasonably priced the only thing I have to say is that the inside is a bit outdated but that doesn’t matter so I’m not taking any stars off this review for that. As a chef the first place I look to see if I want to eat somewhere is the kitchen so I asked to use the bathroom and sneak peek in their kitchen it is so clean I could eat off the floor. I would really recommend the Mushroom mattar, garlic naan and my absolute favorite goat makhani masala, Just for first timers in Indian cuisine a lot of gold dishes still have bone in them this one does so watch out when you bite be careful but the bone brings out an amazing flavor that resonates throughout the whole dish. For an interesting taste try they’re salty lassi. All in all phenomenon this is my go to restaurant in the area for when I’m craving Indian which is like once a week.
