I have ordered food to go from here before. Pretty decent food. I would call it in. I wanted to sit down and eat this time so I came annd walked into an empty restaurant. The lady couldn’t even put on a fake smile. I went into the restroom while i was waiting for a friend. A male just looked at me as i walked past the kitchen on the way to the bathroom. I told my friend i didn’t like the energy that was given to me in the restaurant, and that we should go somewhere else. I walked out the bathroom and the man was lingering around. I walked to the front door with no explanation and the woman screamed “BYE!” I screamed at her “this is why your restaurant is empty, you have no respect for your customers”. I used to be a doordash driver while in school and i would get orders from this restaurant. It was no different. There was a blatant difference for certain customers. It’s sad that i even have to say it, but she acts disgusting with a certain demographic.

We had the Fish Vindaloo and it was an amazing, delicious entree!! It's spicy, so beware!! We also shared a huge garlic naan. This food is so yummy! And we shared a coconut soup appetizer with coconut chunks! The owner and her staff need to work on their friendliness toward ALL guests. Their attitude is very cold, judgemental, and rude.

There is a couple that works here not sure if they are the owners but lady who runs the front has a nasty attitude and only acts decent with her white customers. Any person of color gets treated horribly. The male decided to get on the phone and have a cussing marathon standing next to me as I wait on my order very unprofessional and just weird individuals. I would be careful with these two and consuming anything just from the bad energy they are putting in the air no telling what’s going on with the food if you are a person of color or anyone honestly play it by ear I just noticed the difference of attitude with me and other customers

I have to come to Kansas City on occasion for cancer treatment at KUMC. Whenever I do, I order dinner from Moti Mahal via Uber Eats. Without fail, my order always arrives piping hot and delicious. I've been especially impressed with their soups! My battle with cancer has been going well, and I'm beginning to think these delicious dishes may have something to do with it ;) Seriously though, Moti Mahal gets top marks all around!

I love coming here for lunch! It's almost never busy, and the food is great. The portions are large, which offsets the somewhat high price per person. Almost every dish on the menu has a vegetarian version available.

In Kansas visiting, this is my 2nd time here in town on my first day i got the Lamb Saag and today I got Chicken Tikka Masala and Moti Mahal the food is great, the texture, the taste is on the money. Not to mention the price excellent value for your buck. Keep it up !!!

Omg I was looking for a place like this for months. KC is full of Indians and it made me mad that I couldn’t find one place that sells chicken tiki masala or chicken vindaloo. one day I passed this gem and didn’t regret it at all. The best best best best down to the rice. And this is coming from a West Indian 🙌🏾❤️🇹🇹🇯🇲

The food was extremely bad! We were three of us and we order the Moti mahal platter to start with which is the worst thing I have had at an Indian restaurant in the United States. Everything was frozen, doughy, just dumped into the fryer and served to us. The tandoori chicken we ordered was bland, greasy and not charred enough as it should be. Also, How can you screw up just plain simple rice ? It was sticky and oily af! The garlic naan bread was doughy and more like a pita bread ( please avoid this). You get better naan bread at any store. We also ordered chicken mughlai gravy which seemed to be the only saving grace, it was still pretty bland but not as terrible as the rest of the food! We made the mistake of ordering the gulab jamun for desert. It tasted very greasy! My friends ate it because they felt bad for the restaurant workers/ owners . I didn’t touch mine after taking a bite from theirs! Pathetic! Store bought gulab Jamun tastes way better. Avoid at all costs!!

By seeing reviews We wanted to try this place when visiting Kansas, ordered for carry out- vegetarian dishes. Nice panner tikka masala and Naan/roti was big undercooked. Had a high expectations for biryani but it was not all Biryani ,qty was great for $16.95 but not tasty Felt like some rice with vegetables, basically no biryani masala was there. It was ok ok food for vegetarians. May be nice for non-vegetarians but definitely would not recommend for vegetarians. No proper parking if you are a take out orders.

A disgrace to the Indian community!! Got lamb curry Togo. Mostly sauce and little meat.. no napkins. No utensils.. for $30 a meal that's just unacceptable . The curry isn't even spicy, hardly any curry or tumeric. It should stain my hands but this is just pasta sauce! I've been coming here for years and it's getting worse.. I said I wasn't coming back last time but this experience made me definitely change my mind. I'm never coming back again to moti mahal.

Having been to India multiple times I like good (Hindustani Kana ) Indian food. This was barely average, we would not go back. Too bad we love Indian food.

Women on counter talk rude to customer like she is in rush.

The food AMAZING. I got butter chicken and garlic naan. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because customer service was awful. Lady was yelling on the phone when she got off. I spoke she said just said “name”. Food fire though

We had the lamb vindaloo, saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, vegetable pakora, vegetable samosa and the mango lasssi. Everything was really good, the flavors were on point and the lamb was incredibly tender. However, I would’ve had more garlic/seasoning on the naan and the pakoras were wrapped in plastic wrap and got steamed which was a bummer. Over all I would 100% recommend this place and will be back.

Went for lunch but did not stay. I thought they had a lunch buffet but lunch is $20+. Too expensive to experiment with on my budget. It did not feel welcoming but I did not sit down. I would like to try for dinner with a group of friends.

Yikes, today’s buttered chicken was extremely salty. Couldn’t even swallow it. How unfortunate because I been craving it for a while now and now I’m scarred and disappointed. What a waste of my money. I hate doing bad reviews and it’s too much but I thought it would be worth the effort to share my experience. Almost taste like a prank with how salty it was. I’m not picky either but zammm way too salty today. Hope they can get it fixed. Garlic naan was good today as usual though. I’m scared to order again

It’s a bit hard to notice from the street, but the food is incredible! They have possibly the best water I’ve tasted in a restaurant.

My usual choice is tikka masala but i wanted to try something else and got biryani. It was too spicy to eat, ill just stick to masala from now on. Everything else was ok

I went for my birthday with family that had never eaten this type of cuisine! My family was blown away with how great the food was from the mango drink, appetizers, pakora, samosas, chutney and mint relishes, naan breads, tandoori, tikka and vindaloo and the unique desserts! Everything was excellent with generous portions! The staff was friendly and attentive! Highly recommend!

Well… i heard this place is great so I tried. Very dark inside. Anyway food was okay, but the service pretty poor. The guy told us that we need to pay cuz he wants to go… (so we also need to to go cuz we were only customers) This is weird open til 9, but telling customers they need to leave at 2 pm? Pretty rude.

Food was great, portions were huge- we split two dishes and had a good amount left over. I liked the colors of the decor.

It’s my first time eating Indian food, this restaurant made my experience wonderful. Food was fresh, bread was fresh. The lamb tasted funny to me, but I’ve never tasted lamb before maybe it’s supposed to taste that way. I had the spinach curry with shrimp it was really tasty. Compliments to the 👩‍🍳

The food was wonderful; I brought my partner because she's been wanting chicken masala for like a month and it was exactly perfect. The interior is really nice and well-lit, even with most natural light blocked out. The place itself is so cool and a very good experience. The server we got was obnoxious in his demeanor and at times condescending as well. I've never had to ask two separate questions ("Do you guys have a restroom?" "Yeah." "...Where is it?" "Back there.") to figure out where a restroom is.

Very rude unprofessional , wrong time posted on the google we struggled to reach their before 9 we reached at 8:45 after driving for an hour they did not let us enter and said carry out after 8:30 then why do they mention open till 9 PM

My friend and I went to MM2 for lunch on a weekday. The service was good, the prices were decent, and our main dishes were awesome. The paneer pakora was just okay. We ordered lamb korma, a side of raita, shrimp korma, paneer pakora, and gulab jamun. We both only ate about a third of our main dishes and had plenty of leftovers.

The staff is always super sweet. Jay is my favorite and they have the best Indian food in Kansas City at such an affordable price. They make their food spicy (upon request) without ruining the flavor of the dish. 10/10 would recommend and definitely will be coming back. The food was WONDERFUL but the service was not. It was our first visit and the waitress (manager?) was not kind or helpful. She knocked part of our order off the table ($4 onion nan bread), apologized and didn't replace/offer to replace it. When we (nicely) asked for the bread to be removed from the ticket, she came to the table saying she didn't knock it over. She spoke about us with the other staff members as we waited, in full view, for her to stop having a long conversation. Finally, I went to the counter and told her I'd pay for all of it. She ended up deducting the bread from the tab, but the whole experience left a bad taste our mouths.

I enjoy my visits here to this restaurant. It's beautiful inside and out. The staff are very kind. Appetizers that I love are the veggie samosa and the Veggie Pakora.It is vegetarian friendly. I enjoy my normal order. By far, the Chicken Tikka Masala is my favorite. It's subtly spiced creamy orange curry. Chicken Tikka Masala-Creamy tomato sauce crowns white, boneless chicken chunks with lovely, tangy spices. I am also a big fan of Chicken Korma-A creamy coconut sauce dish with raisins, nuts, boneless white meat, and savory spices and Butter Chicken-Rich, delicious sauce smothers boneless white chicken chunks. My mom is a vegetarian and she loves their Moti Mahal Korma which is a Specialty of the house, a mixed vegetable delight cooked with cashews, raisins, and a creamy spice sauce. My dad loves their garlic Naan bread. I am a fan of just classic plain naan. For drinks my family and I love their Chai tea, and their mango Lassi. If you are a soda fan they offer coke products.

My lunch was amazing!! The mango chutney that arrived with the samosas was the Best I've ever had. Craving satisfied!! And the atmosphere felt fresh and inviting.

This location is popular, and for good reason. The charming decor and ambiance of in-person dining is great. The food is delicate and delicious. The butter chicken is incredible, especially when paired with garlic naan and a lassi. I order delivery from this place at least once a week during Covid. It was comforting food that always arrived correct to the order.

I’ve been coming here since I was about 13 14 I’m 30 now! We order every other week and it’s always delicious and just soul touching!! Lol just try!!!!!

Best service and best location for the food. I accidentally ordered my food at the other Moti Mahal in North KC. But the sweet lady that helped us was able to accommodate and switch to her location. Not only was she understanding, but she served us delicious chai tea while I waited on my order. Best part.. the food was super hot and flavorful even after a long drive home. I love this place!

Soooo delicious! Haven't been in person, but I've ordered a dozen times. My favourite Indian in town. The naans are huge, every curry I've tried is delish (and not spicy unless otherwise noted), and you can't miss the mango lassi! Seriously, don't miss it.

I am a huge fan of both Moti Mahal I up north and II in Westport. The food is amazing, spiced perfectly, comforting, and consistent. They have the best vegetable pakoras of any indian restaurant in K.C. and their mushroom mattar and vegetable masala are my ultimate comfort foods. Thank you for all the wonderful meals.

I ordered Shrimp Vindaloo with rice and garlic nan ... the meal was perfect . With an extra side of rice, there's enough for two people ... I've had Indian cuisine in India, southeast Asia, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the USA ... This food is as good as any I've had in my travels ... THANX GUYS !!!

I go here at least once per week. It is soooo yummy; I can’t see how anyone would give a bad review. All I can come up with is that they must be involved with a competing restaurant. Haha I was introduced to Indian Food 10 or 12 years ago by an Indian coworker. He took me to Swagat...now in Zona Rosa. I would eat there frequently after that. It is very good. However, once I tasted Moti Mahal...wow...it did become my favorite restaurant. On the occasion I go to Swagat, such as when I’m craving Indian food on Mondays, when Moti is closed, I realize just how superior Moti is. These people know how to cook. The only problem is that it’s so good you tend to eat too much from their buffet, then you need a nap. Problematic if you eat on a lunch break from work.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant for dinner. I haven't had the buffet but I have brought so many people here for dinner. My go to order is the butter chicken with garlic nan. Be warned it is easy to over stuff yourself.

Had the buffet around noon. The dishes were about what I’d expect for a buffet. Decent flavor, decent amount of meat, decent selection. Bathrooms are gross, and cleanliness throughout is suspect. Service was fine.

Everything was awesome as usual

The menu is made up of the usual Punjabi and tandoor dishes. The food quality is nothing to shout home about, but decent. Most impressed with the manner the staff accommodated our ever growing large group. One doesn't usually see this much outside of India. So go here if you are a large group, but not mainly for the food.

Absolutely delicious. I often order takeout but I've recently gone to the lunch buffet a handful of times and it's phenomenal. Service is always generous and thoughtful, the food is amazing, and the environment is so cute. Such great colors and tall ceilings. Lamb korma is my absolute favorite and the gulab jamun is delicious, especially when it's still warm. Moti Mahal is easily one of my top 10 restaurants in the city.

Great food! The goa curry was very creamy with a nice kick of spice. Paired well with the mango lassi and chai.
