Best gator bites in Florida. I live an hour away and was craving gator bites -- made a day trip out of it to get my fix of these gator bites. Rest of the food is good, and service was great this time and every time I've been in.

Grilled shrimp was dry and the coconut shrimp didn’t taste like anything but breaded shrimp the dipping sauce was awful for both my shrimp and gator appetizer. I was really hoping for some good food but left disappointed.

Was told the food isn't seasoned but salt & pepper was provided. Not adding seasoning when cooking is more harmful to patrons than adding it after cooking when you have to use more to even taste the seasoning. Was also disappointed to see no taco's for "Taco Tuesday" The waiter suggested to get "Dinner Plate for $2.00 more because it has more shrimp & clam's." Is 6 shrimp a lunch or dinner plate. Sorry Musselwhite's but I really was disappointed.

Our food was cold when we got it. The grits were way to thick. My husband's onion rings were not done. Over all for our first time visiting the place was a bad experience. We will not go back and they were not even that busy there were only three other tables besides us. Very disappointed cause we had heard nothing but how good they were. I will stick to Corky Bell's or Beef O Bradys.

This is our new go-to for dinner when we are both too tired and want some yummy food. My goto is the porkchops. Talk about delicious. Last week, I went out of the box and had fried shrimp. I'm so glad I did! My husband gets the onion rings for an appetizer, and let me tell you, the best we have ever had and the are served with their homemade range. Not sure if it comes with it, but our waitress knows to bring it 😊 Their homemade thousand island is delicious as well. We actually buy our salad dressing there now, and we can't go back once you try them. Omg. Let me tell you about their homemade peanut butter pie. We are always too full to have dessert, but we get it to go, and I always say should have bought the whole pie. The owners and staff are as friendly as can be. You will be happy you stopped by!

The food was excellent. The homemade pie for dessert was to die for. Our party of 4 ordered key lime, heath bar, snickers and butterfinger pie. They were excellent.

Not fair to compare to Corky Bells but one is overflowing and one has plenty of parking. Thought we'd give it a chance. Our mistake. No atmosphere. My husband couldn't hear me sitting on the opposite side of the table, so I moved to the side. Very limited menu, few appetizers. I ventured on the French onion soup that was inedible because of the sodium. Waitress took it off the menu, rightfully so. The chef needs to taste this before serving. Husband got the NE clam chowder, lukewarm, watery, no potatoes, too few clams. Another disappointment. My beer should have been offered with a glass. Not cold at best. We pondered cancelling our order and calling it a night. No bread, saltines offered. My 12 fried shrimp did arrive hot, appetizing with french fries and a decent coleslaw. Husband's stuffed shrimp, only 6, were decent. I had to give him 3 of my shrimp to satisfy his hunger. Waitress......we had no complaints. Heard a group of four men state, "Not bad, but I won't be back ". I hear ya brother. For $60 with tip, we won't be either. One other complaint.... have the servers wear coordinating uniforms. Each was dressed in their own jeans and undistinguished t shirts. Buy them tshirts. Uniformity makes a difference. Sorry. We work hard for our money, and this evening, we were seriously disappointed.

It was an old place, but the food was really good. Clam chowder tested like home made, would have liked it more creamery but never the less good. The blackened shrimps were delicious.

I'm giving all stars because for our visit, everything deserved it. The food was excellent. We had the lunch shrimp, fish, clams, and green beans, it was delicious. Our service was great, food prompt, hot and fresh. The establishment was very clean and nicely decorated. We will come back.

The shrimp, Creole ( lunch specials) tastes like canned sauce on a bed of white rice , and the shrimp was boiled , plain shrimp. Four pieces dumped on top . The sauce was caned mixed in with peppers and hot peppers . tasteless. The only taste it was,the burning from the excessive cayenne pepper. I’ve eaten there a lot and have notice the drop in service along with frozen shrimp and hamburger…. Higher prices is understandable in the times we put ourselves into , but get back to basics and put back the quality and it will return!

This place is so good! All of their seafood is fresh and delicious, their pickled beets are on point, and the sweet tea is really good! The staff is very friendly and the restaurant itself is very tidy and clean. I will definitely be back!

The food could have been better but when no one wants to work, this is what you get. The soup was cold, onion rings over cooked, and the crackers were stale. I don't blame the owners, I blame this ridiculous so-called president.

Great menu very reasonable prices$ Had the Scallops, beets and applesauce. Scallops perfectly cooked! They have a variety sided which is nice! Clean Restrooms which is rare. A full bar to order from! Enjoy!

Hush puppies were doughy in the middle. Food portions were tiny. Not worth the money, effort, or time to stop here.

Wonderful waitress, crab bites were delicious. The broiled shrimp dinner was very tasty and my hubby had the pork chops they were grilled perfectly. Highly recommend if you haven't been there stop in soon.

First off the service was great! The food however was not 😖 the shrimp was rubbery and everything including the veggies were bland and flavorless! I had to add salt and pepper to everything! This coming from the person who usually dislikes salt! The New England clam chowder needed salt and definitely needed cream added as was very watery tasting. The prices are very expensive considering the food quality in comparison to many other family restaurants in the area. As mentioned ... the service was good, but as a person who relies on reviews to try something new, I had to share our experience here as no one person in our group enjoyed their meal. And watching the tables cleaned between customers also was a turn off as the cleaning was limited to the center of the tables only, no edges, not under or near the condiments, even previous customers napkins left behind. 😖 Sorry Musselwhites! 🫤

It's was good not exceptional. Folks are nice. The boiled shrimp were better than the fried. I'd recommend the shrimp platter over the seafood platter. Too many clam straps and not my favorite.

We were a few hours from home and remembered eating here in the past. It did not disappoint.! I had a shrimp dinner and the shrimp were as fresh and tender as you can get. The batter was light and the hush puppies soft and tasty. Delicious!

Brought our kids in to MW as a last effort since the place we wanted was closed. The menu was lackluster for a seafood place. We all ended up ordering fried shrimp. The shrimp batter had 0 flavor. It was so plain and disappointing. Most places will throw some old bay or something in the batter to give it flavor. Ours did not. The fried okra was also lackluster. Green beans didn’t have any sort of seasoning. The ranch was good though the garden salad was okay, they put a lot of red weird looking old lettuce pieces in mine so I had to pick around it and the giant chunks of carrot. Their sodas also tasted weird. The last time we went to MW it was pretty good but that was years ago so I’m Not sure what changed as to why it was so flavorless this time. I wouldn’t mind going back if they added some flavor. Our server was nice & decently attentive despite there being a lot of patrons. I guess what I’m trying to say is, season the food!!

All the nonfish on the walls would be great if it were a hunting club for rich weirdos... The food was disappointing at best. How in the world do you ruin my son's chicken tenders???

This is one of the great places to eat in this area. If you're ever in Putnam County, Florida (for some reason) and want to try some local cuisine, Musselwhite's is just awesome. I recommend the gator tail and fried shrimp but it is *all* just delicious. The prices are awesome. The service is great. You can never go wrong eating here. Sometimes there is a little bit of a wait to be seated but that's true of all good restaurants.

GOOD LITTLE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT. INTERIOR IS WAY OUTDATED. THE LADIES WORKING WERE VERY NICE. THE COCONUT SHRIMP WAS GOOD. THE BAKED APPLES WERE TERRIBLE. SWEET TEA IS GREAT. TOOK A LONG TIME TO GET THE FOOD AND THEY WERE NOT BUSY AT ALL.

GREAT food. Coconut shrimp were light, moist and almost the best we ever had. Alan, our server went the distance to make sure everything was perfect! Having lived in San Francisco 11 years and Newport Beach 30 years, I speak as a very experienced diner.

Have not been here in about a year and glad I came back, food is delicious, great service and prices are very good. Love the shrimp and probably the best onion rings I have eaten in a long time, will definitely make this one of my go to places for a great seafood on my way to St Augustine

I stop at Musselwhite's anytime I am in Palatka and its anywhere near time to eat. After many stops I can honestly say that the food is always consistently prepared and great tasting, the service is friendly and quick, and the atmosphere conducive to family dining. Diverse menu for all tastes and preparations, and the food comes as you ordered it every time. The steaks are great, the seafood fresh, and the choice of sides is large. Great place for lunch or dinner, as the number of loyal locals will attest.

Best seafood in the area. Had dinner there’s lots of times but recently it was excellent. The fried shrimp here is amazing!

This was our second time eating here. We were not impressed the first time but figured we'd give them another try. Needless to say we should not have. The food is tasteless and the dipping sauce is disgusting. I ordered mahi mahi at market price and got fish nuggets. They were tough and dry. Wife ordered coconut shrimp which came butterflied with some thin watery sauce. The hush puppies are just tasteless hunks of dough. Over $70.00 for inedible food is unacceptable.

If you are a lover of seafood, then Musselwhite's is a great place to spend your money and time. Had the Seafood Platter with fish, shrimp, oysters, and scallops. Each one individually was delicious but together, they were superb! A tasty treat with each bite. The sides were delectable as well. I do love green beans and theirs could compare to anyone's. And to top it off, our server was especially accommodating and attentive. We never wanted for anything extra. Overall, a really special dining experience.

Absolutely terrible. Every single table filthy. Ok, my wife and I waited patiently for them to clean the table. For reference, 85% of the restaurant was empty so we basically had numerous tables to choose from. Mahi mahi blackened was super over cooked. No one at the restaurant cared or even interested enough to ask questions. Anyway, first and last visit for us.

I got the stuffed shrimp. And some other stuff cost us around 80 bucks. For 3 people. Needless to say I was exploding out of both ends pretty much all night. Sick!! Ate there before and it was great! But this last time which is our very last time eating there was literally sickening

Food was not very good. Clam strips and shrimp tasted like frozen Costco. Clam strips were mostly broken pieces that were hard and over cooked. Shrimp were cooked well but were small and not many. This is not cooking or culinary...it's food heating. Food needs love, flavor and fresh. Not frozen and bland. Really disappointed in this meal. Both wife and I didn't feel well after dinner and overnight. Atmosphere seems confused...like a hunting club not a seafood place and grill. .....and not much of a menu. No hamburgers or typical things served by a grill... Waitress was friendly and service was decent but food was really not good. I was excited to try as I I enjoy the seafood place down the street from here but I won't return here.🥺

Had the meatloaf special yesterday and it was the worst food I ever ate. The mashed potatoes were runny and made out of a box and loaded with pepper. The gravy was cold and like jello. The meatloaf was loaded with pepper too. I never complain. It’s been a few years since we’ve stopped in for a meal. Should’ve ordered the shrimp.

The grilled salmon (fresh catch of the day) was delicious. I ordered for take-out.
