Everything we ordered was delicious - from starter, to fish dishes to dry pot. Service is good and we got free dessert! Definitely recommend and would keep coming back! If you pay cash you get a free starter.

The house soup fish was a bit spicy for my taste but the beef dry pot was delicious! Thankfully, the service was excellent cause we needed that cold water! We never had to ask for it though. They also offered hot water for us to rinse the spicy off for our baby to try so thay was appreciated!

Food was delicious. Large portions and good flavor. Enjoyed both the beef and fish with many add one. First time coming here and the customer service was excellent. The manager was very friendly with suggestions and explanations of the food. Food came quickly and warm.

I admit I didn't feel very hungry when my daughter and I arrived but when I was about to leave I felt more NOURISHED than I have felt in a very long time. Sauerkraut fish (soup) did not sound appetizing at all but WAS it DELICIOUS!! I ate almost everything in the bowl- my daughter has barely dispensed her PANDA Express training wheels but she was SO impressed! She had the Cumin beef which had cilantro and seared onions, which was perfectly wok seared and outstanding. We also had beef and mushroom bento box- she could not stop eating the beef, I had none left to go with the nice-sized portion of mushrooms, portion size was not a concern at all in this restaurant because of course we had plenty left-over. I highly suggest you depart from Americanized Chinese fare and go for real ethnic cuisine- and this is THE PLACE TO START, I ASSURE YOU!

A superb dining experience! We got the fried milk sticks, cold cucumber appetizer, and spicy soup with fish and beef. Everything was exactly as it should be! The servers were friendly, even giving us free rice puddings when I said the soup was very spicy. Thank you, Nai Brother!

Stopped in today looking for some sour fish soup. I love this dish so was excited to go to a place where this is their speciality. You choose your base, you choose your protein and you can get some add ons. To my sour soup, i added sliced fish, fried tofu puffs and some ox tripe. It was a lot of food just for one person. The broth itself was better than most i have had. There was more than just the one note from pickled mustard greens. whatever pickled veggies they used were great. Strong pickle flavor, some nice spice. Would love to come back

Good spicy sour fish soup. Even when you request “mild,” it would still be spicy. Flavor is good. The soup comes with a side of rice. The flounder fish is more meaty while the snakehead fish is thinner. Good experience if you want to try new dishes. Again, good flavor. We also had fried milk pudding and popcorn chicken for appetizers. They were also good. Complementary desserts when you dine in. Waiters and waitresses don’t really speak English. Restaurant seems clean. Restroom was clean.

Last night after eating, my sister said she had a stomachache. While we were at the market buying groceries, she went to the bathroom twice and still felt uncomfortable. Last night, I also had stomach issues, it hurt, and I couldn't go to the bathroom properly. I stayed up until around 2 AM and only then fell asleep. Today my stomach is still uncomfortable, and my husband's stomach is also not feeling well. 😢😢😢feel so bad

Went in last night for the first time. The owner was so helpful explaining the dishes on the menu and catering to our needs and the waitress was on spot, providing excellent service. It was the first time I tried soup dumplings. I truly enjoyed them. We also ordered the Mongolian beef stir fry with white rice on the side. The flavor was good however 50% of the beef was chewy and tough while the other 1/2 were properly tender. If it wasn't for the tough, chewy beef, I would have given 5 stars for the food

2024.06 good portion, worth the value. I ordered green pepper with fish $14 and added 6 oz of beef for another $7. Beef not tender enough and tasteless. Fish and soup and others side dish are ok. This is 1 person portion.

it was a great experience for a our first time here we got the best service we could ask for. the host was very insightful and broke the menu down for us to understand. the food was amazing so tasty and filling. we also got free desert which was delicious. don't hesitate to come bring your friends and enjoy a good meal.

We went in right before noon, as a second group of guest, ordered garlic cucumber as a side dish, which turned out to be a leftover from their refrigerator, with cold bowl and saggy and soft cucumber overly pickled and potentially poisonous. I doubt the quality of their food.

The tastiest and most flavorful hot pot I’ve ever had. Service was great. Be careful with the spice cause even the mild and medium levels can be much hotter than you might expect.

Have been there twice, once as 2-person party and the other time as a 10-pac. Really good service and very authentic food both times. Quality of food is consistently good. Their sauerkraut fish soup is unique as not only the fish itself, but also the soup is really good too. Also their Yunnan-style copper pot rice noodle is so authentic with large portions, very impressive even to Yunnan natives.

The dry pot is a must try! It’s so good and the price is amazing. I just can’t get enough of it. The restaurant owner really should branding with their dry pot rather than fish soup. 😂The fish soup is much less flavorful than dry pot.

Nai Brother is definitely a hidden treasury. After several days authentic Chinese food hunting in Princeton, I visited Nai Brother Edison today. The pickled fish soup with snakehead fish fillet is absolutely the best!!! And the add-on veggies are super fresh and tasty. Highly recommend this place!!❤️

TLDR (5/5) Easily one of the most authentic Southern Chinese Food you'll get probably on the East Coast!! It has the stamp of my family members when I brought home some left-overs. They loved it even though it hadn't come out fresh from the kitchen. The plum drink is on the sweeter side but extremely tasty and worth it for those who are familiar with plum or willing to experiment. If you are looking to try new foods, whether you want a kick of spice or a large bowl of savory goodness, you cannot go wrong with Nai Brothers in Edison. Food (5/5): For people who love SPICE, it can get REALLY spicy. They have options for those who can't handle it. It has plenty of options from tofu strips to mushrooms. Chances are you won't have anything like it and it's tasty as well. So it gets a 5/5 in my book for uniqueness that matches the flavor to satisfy the palate. Especially great in the winter when it's cold. :) If you can't choose, the house signature is really solid, recommended by the owner as well. I had one drink here and it was the Plum Juice. My mother gave it her stamp of approval and destroyed it whole when i brought it back. Sooo give it a try if you want. Service (4/5): The waiters and waitresses aren't out of this world, but they do their job perfectly fine. They aren't rude and they have ones that speak Chinese and some that are bilingual. The owner is there at times and they are quite friendly! They will gladly tell you about the store and the food. Decor and Ambience (4/5): The outside is a bit hard to notice as it is in a mini outlet off the main road. If it ever gets packed you might have to park locally on the neighborhood roads. The inside is rather simple but has character. Nothing that really stands out besides the occasional decorations they place around. I also don't judge the total score harshly due to decor just because it isn't OUTSTANDING. It has a modern feel to it. Overall(5/5) The food is really good, I mean so good I'm not going to lower the score due to the other aspects despite being on the lower side. It really does provide that craving for something different. Not Americanized, culturally accurate delicious food. You won't regret it if you are an explorer of food willing to try new cultures. It's great, it really is!

Edison is a food mecca but this still stood out. Personally, I prefer Sichuan dishes that are savory, sour, and packing a massive spice punch. Ordered take out: the sour pickled pepper sauerkraut fish, (added lotus root) and the mapo tofu, while I was driving through the area. Took me over an hour to get home after the fact and the food was still amazing! Generous amount of lotus root added, for which I was grateful because add-ons often are expensive yet lacking. Was not the case, and still the perfect crunchy texture despite the time lapse. Definitely had assertive spice though I would have liked it more sour, that's probably a "me thing." Mapo was very solid too. Both dishes were noticeably less sodium heavy than typical Sichuan take out. Admittedly I'm a salt junkie so if you're watching your blood pressure take that with.. a grain of salt? I expected enough food for ~3 meals and I'm on 4 meals + snacks and counting. Excited to go back next time I'm in the area!

Food here is good and the service is superb. The owner explains the menu and recommends what is best based on your preferences. I'm not big on spicy food but they can adjust it for you. The portions are also big and they will ask if you want to share your order. The menu is not that extensive but you can't go wrong with any item. I plan to go back and taste other menu items I haven't tried.

We got the double serving of tomato base soup with flounder. The portions were very generous and the double portion bowl could have fed 3-4 people. The soup we got came with clear noodles, bean sprouts, tomato, cabbage, and bean curd strips. Each bowl comes with its own bowl of rice.

Stopped in for lunch randomly, no idea what to expect. The food is fresh and delicious, I got the Cumin beef dry pot and soup dumplings. Highly recommended. Our first visit, and the waitress recommended the house signature Chinese sauerkraut flavor snakehead fish. The fish was fresh, though the portion was small, it had a good flavor. Friends tried different copper pot rice noodles - original and spicy. Also sampled the fried pudding and ordered braised pork. Everything was delicious. Started with hot tea, enjoyed fresh natural juices, all in a clean and pleasant ambiance with nice music.

it’s obviously not the place for food, tiny portion, mediocre flavor, rlly got little to comment. It seems lots of competitions nearby so if the taste of food here should not improve, it would fall quickly. I hope sincerely that the owner can take some actions before it’s too late. Generally speaking, overall 5 stars. Food actually tasted not too bad, just lacks richness and flavour. Just wasn't spicy, numbing, sour enough, at least for my family.

Best place for Mala Xiang Guo and fish soup in the area. The food and service is always excellent and the portions are perfect. Like others have mentioned, the staff are very attentive and food always comes out promptly. I highly recommend!

Delicious food! First time trying anything like this and we loved it! We ordered the house signature and the Korean kimchi soups. Both delicious. The house signature definitely had some heat to it though so be warned! Restaurant was very clean.

This is one of the best hot pot soups I've had, and I've tried a lot. The Red pepper spicy broth was amazing, spicy with the Sichuan pepper numbing spice, and the soup was flavorful and deep, not just oily like other places. The beef and veggies are all fresh and good too. They also deliver from delivery apps. Definitely going to eat here a lot.

My wife and I discovered and tried Nai Brother for the first time tonight. It was a great experience. The service was wonderful and the food was excellent. We will definitely go back.

Our first time having such cuisine, and after eating here, makes me want to try some more. Highly recommend getting a soup and a dry hotpot. The combo and going back and forth from soup to the dry hotpot created nice flavors. The plum juice also reduces heat if you ordered the spicy dishes. Service was very good and quick. Extra napkins and water was provided without our request. The staff were nice and the manager/owner is super friendly if you get a chance to meet him. Will definitely come back again if in the area.

I liked the spicy base with the tilapia. Only wish there was more than just 4 pieces of the mung bean noodles along with the other toppings that come with it though, because they were really good too.
