Nam San is easily one of my favorite restaurants in LA. Huge selection, authentic dishes, and great prices. Really enjoy their pop culture inspired dishes as well -- so fun 🎉🤘 A true LA hidden gem 💎

Great service, very nice people working here

I'm on a kimbap kick. I'm determined to go to all the restaurants that sell this fabulous treat in Korea Town. It was late, 9pm, so my choices were limited. I chose Namsan because it was one of the few places that was open and not too far. I've only tried the veggie burdock root kimbap. Unfortunately they usually put in some type of fish in it. The gentleman that helped me said there was no fish but there was crab and something that resembles a fish cracker. Neither of which I wanted. I just wanted all veggie and there was very little burdock root. Lesson learned, next time I will make sure that there is zero fish. The roll was okay. Not the best, not the worst.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!. ORDER FROM HERE ON POSTMATES ALL THE TIME!!...their food is so reasonably priced and SO DELICIOUS. I always spend over 100 dollars when I order from here. I absolutely love their macaroni salad and potato salad . Their bulgogi kimball is so huge and fresh.!.the korean fried chicken is crispy and savory. I have never eaten at the location but everytime I order , WE ARE A HAPPY FAMILY ENJOYING GREAT KOREAN FOOD!!

I ordered the bulgogi kimbop and the beef bulgogi. The bulgogi kimbop simply lacked flavor and the beef bulgogi, though it had some flavor was only decent. The service was not bad although it was a bit of a challenge communicating with my server who didn’t seem to have the strongest English.

The kid who let me go after I passed by here and saw Namsan Mountain in Seoul first. My brother's account was the same as mine a few years ago.

I had a to go Orange Chicken, it came with rice and side dishes. The serving is good for 4 people and it was a reasonable price. I will definitely come back.

Everyone else agrees too. When delivering, it is mandatory to pay to add side dishes or to remove side dishes, so I don't pay to add side dishes. Then, I was dumbfounded when I saw the post below where they treated customers as if they were not used to it. It's been a while since the owner changed, but the service doesn't seem to be as good as before. How about choosing or not choosing a side dish or changing it to an additional side dish? If you choose not to choose a side dish at all or pay extra, you won't pay for it. Other places give it as standard, but I don't know what kind of weird answer this is, but I spilled all the stew soup and don't want to order it again.

The ginseng chicken soup and beef short rib soup were both huge portions and delicious. They also have really delicious banchan. The owner was so sweet. When I told him I liked his seaweed side dish he packed more for me to take home with my portions. I was so touched. I hope more people support this restaurant!

I had it delivered by Uber, but this restaurant didn't provide any side dishes.... Is it because this is America? Don’t Korean restaurants have to provide side dishes? The only thing that came was kimchi fried rice and grilled Lim Yeonsu. Delivery charges extra for the food, so why don't they provide side dishes? Even if we just provided side dishes, the number of regular customers would increase and business would be good. The food itself is okay, but I was shocked to see that they charge money for the side dishes too...

Ah finally a place who delivers a more than full Korean menu. The Spam gimbap hit the spot. We also ordered bibimbap, kimchi fried rice (thank you for having a mild option, and the chicken wings. We can't wait to order again. I'm thinking banshan and ramyum....

I ordered it delivered through Uber Eats, but I missed the extra rice, so I contacted them and asked, “Why is the rice missing? Can’t you come pick it up? I’m not in a position to send it right now. Can I order more food?” I asked, but the one thing I missed was the store. But why do consumers have to purchase more and receive missing products? It's right that you should say sorry first, but you should do it after telling me to take better care of you from now on. The side dishes didn't seem to come separately, so I paid for the potato salad separately, but it tasted strange so I threw it away after one bite. It's not cheap, but seeing the owner react to the customer's mistake in this way makes me not want to order it again.

If you order food delivered, no side dishes are provided. Even if you order 10 meals, no side dishes are provided. I called and inquired, and the delivery company said the money they take was a lot, so if you want side dishes, you have to pay for them. Even Daddy Bae gets punished separately... tsk tsk tsk. After that, I placed an order for pickup and was told it would take 25 minutes. When I arrived on time, they said the tuna kimbap wasn't ready. They made me wait another 35 minutes. This is my first time seeing something like this. Don't order food here

I literally eat here like once a week. The kimbap, tofu stew, and “squid game” dishes are my go-to and literally 10/10 every time 👌even the cheesecake rules!

As someone who's tried various Korean restaurants, NAMSAN stands out for its authenticity and taste. The jjajangmyeon was spot-on, and the banchan were a delicious surprise

Don’t let the humble look of the restaurant deter you. While it is busy with delivery orders, it is also good a place to eat if you don’t mind a no frills environment. Friendly owners and the food was great. Reasonably priced also for the portions. 👍🏼

음식에 반찬없어서 저녁 망쳤음. 4가지음식을 시켰는데. 어떻게 반찬을 않주냐고요.한식음식인게요. 일식도아니고. 올라인으로 시켰다고 반찬값을 따로 달라고 하네요. 한식은 당연히 밥 반찬 기본아난가요. 반찬 없이 비싼금액에 화나게 먹었음니다.

Get the chapaguri noodles and try leaving a bad review. Everything is good, even their lemon cake, and I consistently get good delivery from them. Don’t sleep on this

Had a really good experience here. Super cute mom and pop restaurant. Food came out quick and was delicious. They even gave us lettuce wraps as service when we didn’t even ask because they matched well with the food we ordered!

I’m honestly shocked at the bad reviews! This is my go to Korean place for Kimbap and soon tofu. It’s consistent and good. They don’t do free side dishes like most other places but I see that it helps to cut food waste

골뱅이무침 투고해서 먹다가 뒤질뻔.. 뭔 쪽파인가 대파인가 하고 먹었다가 딱딱한게 씹혀서 봤더니 봉지 묶는 철사.... 전화했더니 대응이.... 저녁에 시켜서 먹다가 그런거면 저녁팀에게 문의하란다.. 아님 크레딧또는 다시해주겠다는대.. 누가 다시 시켜먹겠냐?

직접 매장에 방문 했지만 배달위주로 음식 만들고 계시고 30분 ~ 40분 걸려서 주문한 음식이 나오네요 그냥 죄송하단 말만 하시고 떡볶이랑 튀김 주문 했으나 정말 맛도 없었습니다. 가격만 비싸구요

Got their galbi jjim and dolsot bibimbap delivered. The galbi was well seasoned and very tender and the bibimbap surprisingly came with crisped rice despite being to go. Portions were also very large. Would get again.

It’s a no nonsense sort of place. Extensive menu, delicious food, and open pretty late at night. definitely recommend if you’re just looking for some tasty food late at night.

friendly waiter, best cold noodle I have ever have!

First review I've ever made because of how much I love this restaurant. The lady who works the front is absolutely wonderful to be around and is as much of a highlight as the food is. Food is delicious. Had the kimchi fried rice, tteokbokki, and beef kimbob. All of them were delicious. This is a great spot to eat at and although there's a bit of a wait time it's fully worth going here especially with friends.

I visited this restaurant with 2 of my friends around 11pm after searching for a place that was still open. Lucky for us, Namsan is 24 hours. The food was amazing and it really felt like being invited over for dinner at a family friend’s house rather than eating at a restaurant. The staff was so incredibly sweet and took note of our dietary restrictions. The honey citron tea warmed up our cold bones and the fish cake soup warmed up our stomachs. Will definitely be back

This is a great mom & pop restaurant! It's mostly about delivery and takeout, but the ahjussi that seemed to be the owner/manager checked on me often as I ate in at one of the 3 tables. There must have been about 30 orders running through that door while I spent an hour eating there. They're very popular, obviously! The food was great and reasonably priced. I had mandu and rice cake soup (because LA was surprisingly cold), which was hardy and hot. It had a savory broth and was quite soothing. It also came with banchan. I also got a combo with tteokbokki and gimbap. And they were spot-on authentic and satisfying. I recommend this place for anyone and everyone!

Everything I've ordered delivery from here has always been so good and lately I've been obsessed with their oyster porridge. They're amazing with special instructions - at one point I asked for less sodium because my body is sensitive to salt and it turned out so well! I hope to come in one day if I'm in the area :)

Talk about a hole in the wall (in the best way possible)! I was staying in koreatown and wanted to sample some really good food while here. This placed seemed pretty authentic so I thought I’d give it a try. I arrived, not what I expected, but who cares. The staff was so kind and helpful with the menu. The dishes were phenomenal, don’t judge this book by it’s cover and give it a shot!!

The GF and I tried NamSan for the first time last night and had a wonderful time. We dined-in, were greeted and served by very friendly and attentive staff, and served a delicious meal. Serve-time was surprisingly fast but otherwise a low-key atmosphere. The server (who I also believe was the manager) made the experience a delight.

We had the loveliest, most wonderful experience at this amazing restaurant... The food was exquisite .... fresh, textured vegetables with richly seasoned cultivated sauces & the silkiest tofu I have ever experienced swimming in a richly flavored broth... The family running the restaurant could not possibly be more gracious or welcoming ... They guided us in our ordering & took such good care of us! We can not wait to come back to LA just to eat here ...

One of the hidden koreatown gems for sure! We found this small restaurant during quarentine and we just fell in love with the food. We order from here at least twice a week. Last night was the first time we actually sat inside and the service is excellent 👌. I highly recommend "soft spicy tofu stew" " spicy cold noodles" and the "spicy beef stew" "the short ribs soup" "bean sprout soup" if you're looking for comforting korean food this is the spot!

First time here. Definitely I will be back. My fiancé and I had curry rice with pork belly, curry bulgogi beef and some dumplings as appetizers. They were absolutely delicious! The service was friendly, fast and helpful. The manager explained us what had each dish which was very helpful because we don’t know too much about korean food since we are peruvians. It was a great experience and I highly recommend this place. You will love it !

Decided to deviate from my usual spot, NakWon and venture here. Food was good I'd eat here again. Problem is, nothing was super memorable. Also, I think the reason I gave it 4 stars regardless of the food being good, is because it lacked certain dishes that I like to eat. So while what I DID eat was good, I was disappointed that what I WANTED to eat was not on the menu. Since then, I have continued to patronize Nakwon and Hodori down on Vermont and Olympic. They have a variety of foods too, but also have the other foods I enjoy. I have been eating Korean food in general for at least 15 years of my life, and have been speaking the language for just as long. So I know what I like and what I enjoy eating. Maybe they will add those items in the future, and remove the dishes that are less sought after. Best of luck to your business. Also, I do pay attention to some of the replies to other customers on here and while you're reply to my review is tame and humble, some of these replies are outright rude and disrespectful, not to mention unprofessional. Instead of getting upset with customers for poor ratings, work on your service at your establishment so that your ratings can go up. Also helps to maintain professionalism and grace at all times. This is a fair criticism.

Wow what a find I keep passing this place on my way to home but this time I decided to stop by. Definitely worth a try, food is amazing 🙏. Got some fried rice dishes and definitely didn't disappoint 🙏. I'll definitely be going back to here again....

Delicious. A hidden gym. Tried for the first time. This place should have a 5 star rating. Service with a smile. Hot crispy, spicy chicken wings. Their ramen with oyster is world class. Spicy rice cakes compete with all the best in town.

They have the best boneless chicken! Must get the extra spicy boneless chicken and the honey rice cake chicken. The rice cake is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, then coated with a honey glaze. Mmmmm.

Order by postmates seems generous and delicious. And after trying it i can say its amazing and i ordered late at night. Totally trying next the short rib stew 😍. Update: the soft tofu soup was amazing (if you cant have spicy let them know) and the short rib stew was amazing. I think i should go there to eat more amazing dishes since delivery takes a while 😭.

We were visiting LA and ordered from NamSan. The food was DELICIOUS! We had the spicy braised pork ribs and the rice porridge with pine nuts. Omg! I was actually dancing as I ate. The food was so good, the portions were huge, we actually ate the rest for breakfast. I highly recommend this restaurant

first time trying them out. Food was decent. I recommend the duttpoki and Radish soup, quite good . Only critique abou the place might be that the menu was a bit overwhelming, seems like they try to offer TOO much , I had the thought they might just focus on their best dishes, narrow stuff down . They cater mainly toward delivery so when we ate there , we were literally the only customers there, which wasnt a bad thing in itself, but the atmosphere is naturally kind of , EH~ Also, dont get the Tempura, the breading is sub par.

Really big menu which can be a bad sign sometimes, but everything we ordered was pretty good. Got tteokbokki, mooguk (radish soup) and tempura. All pretty tasty. Made to order, fresh Korean grandmother cooking.

카레불고기. 첨먹어봣는데 낫벳ㅎ 카레에 비벼먹는 느낌. 좋았어요. 단지 너무 배달음식점이다보니 배달에 포커싱을 많이하시는 모습 보여서 아쉬윘습니다.

I really like the Spicy chicken stew. When I ordered online for delivery last few times it was just too spicy. So, I went there today with my family and asked if they can make it very little spicy. First they said that it was already marinated, but to my surprise, agreed to make it less spicy. It came out just perrrfect, exactly as I wanted!!! I really appreciate that Julie (nice elder sister) listened to our special request. Also, she made sure that I can order the same thing over the phone in the future.

I had a spicy beef stew there 2:30 am. Surprised by the crowd in the restaurant. Food was great, price was reasonable, the elderly waitress was so sweet that I couldn't resist a hug when I was leaving.

Our group of 8 people went to this restaurant after we finished hiking on Saturday afternoon. The table was promptly set up and food we ordered was served in 6-7 minutes. The server named Julie was kind and polite. A male server quickly checked the restroom before my wife was entering. (I suppose they don't do that all time, but I was impressed.) We ordered Chiken ginsang Soup, Dumpling Soup, Tofu Stew, etc. All of them tasted good and very generous in portion. One of our guys, who was allergic to MSG did not taste any MSG in his Tofu Stew. Only disappointment was that they did not sell beer or soju.

제육볶음은 정말맛있게먹렀는데 같이시킨 프라이드치킨이 돌덩인줄알았어요. 태어나서 치킨 첨 버려봐요.. 치킨은 절댜 시키지마세요.

Went with my friends. We tried the chicken bulgoji. It's a very good place. They usually aren't packed. The staff is very friendly and it helps if you say thank you or delicious in korean. The only improvement would be the bathroom. It could be cleaned better. But other than that the food was amazing.

This place is ok. I got the rice cake soup with dumplings and Kim chi fried rice. They were both good. My sister got the vegetable and noodle soup. It was just ok. My soup was better. I win.

It's hard to find restaurants that make food well. This restaurant uses just the right amount of seasoning and spice, never overloaded with harsh red pepper flakes and sodium/MSG. I never taste MSG, but the flavor is great from good cooking skills. They know how to cook delicious, authentic Korean food. One of my favorites is buguhgook, which is the dried pollack, mild and delicious, made with eggs and green onions. I always feel like I got a good eat since the side dishes are consistently delicious and with quality ingredients. Service is fast and friendly. I also get delivery within 20 minutes for hot soup. They have all day specials for 6.95 and if you go in the mornings and early afternoons, you get a complementary kimbab roll with banchan. They also have tempura, which looks so good (yet to try).

My hotel recommended I try Namsan and I'm very happy I did. I ordered Pork Bulgogi at lunchtime and ended up with practically a banquet meal. It was all fantastic.

Love this place. Good food at a good price. Their kimchi friend rice is great, and I actually like their tofu soup better than BCD's. Everything I've had comes with bottomless banchan (side dishes) and complimentary gimbap (like a Korean sushi roll).

I was very hungry and as it was very late in the night, most options were fast food. But on this night, I happened to find via the yelp app, this restaurant which serves delicious and comforting Korean Cuisine. The options range from hearty soups and grilled meats to freshly-prepared side dishes and kimbap! The spicy rice cakes are so yummy and filling here, too! This mom and pop shop doesn't serve alcohol, but who needs it when you really want to be "present" to enjoy all the delicious dishes here! Prices are inexpensive and parking is free! They also deliver for free until 3 am to any address within Koreatown!
