Small town cafe great food a lot of locals. Fast service.

With a fantastic attitude and speedy service this place will satisfy your hunger. Breakfast or Lunch you have delectable choices to pick from. Linda will be honest with you about what you should order and does an amazing job of helping multiple tables at once. The Steak N Sak and the Chicken N Sak are mouthwatering. Get the onion rings, they have a lovely crunch. When you are ready finish off with a Banana Pudding that is fresh, light and flavorful. You can't go wrong.

Service staff was attentive; supplied refills.

This place is amazing! Went for breakfast and they where super busy, but they still got our food to us in less than 10mins!. Wow best service and food. 10 out of 10. We will be back!

Food was the very best! Tea was excellent! Diner atmosphere. Loud and busy as expected. Got the chicken and dumplins with fried okra and potato salad. It was great!! Friend ordered the burger and fries. Said it was one of the best! Would definitely go back if I lived here regularly.

Always amazing. Best breakfast spot in town so far. Always so nice, feel like family every time. Nick makes a point to talk to my 5 year old son and he gets a real kick out of it.

A big disappointment. Ate here for lunch for the first time in a while. I ordered the “country style” steak special. Came in just after noon and they were already out of mashed potatoes and cornbread. What I received looked like a dog’s dinner. A little meatloaf patty with no taste and no seasoning topped with what they think is gravy. Our waitress was very rude. We were disgusted by the quality of food and service we received. The booths are very small and uncomfortable. However, my biscuit was soft and buttery, making it unfortunately the best part of the dish. I do like how they have a similar style to Waffle House but nicer. The fries were okay, no seasoning or salt. Their lunch menu was very small and nothing seemed appetizing on it. I really hope for a better experience if I decide to return

Great food! I had the mushroom and Swiss burger. It was huge and came with fries. They also have a daily plate special. I want to come on a Wednesday to try their chicken and dumplings. I was told to come early before they are all gone!

I'd give a 5 star for service. But didn't have enough cash on hand to make change. Food was hot and fresh as always. Service was indeed on point. Love this place. But seems like most places, plastic has become king.

They’re kind of open, but not really. They have hours, but don’t honor their menu. Server said I should never expect a full menu after 2:00 despite being open to 4:00. Just close already.

Hands down, my favorite restaurant in Knoxville! Stellar food cooked up in front of you! I highly recommend checking this place out for breakfast!

Wonderful breakfast at Nick & J’s. Cool - diner like-setting with a regular crowd feeling. I had the meat lovers breakfast bowl. My wife and brother in law had the biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and home fries. My sister ordered the French toast with fresh strawberries. It was all excellent. Would ego back again. It is closed on Sundays, though. 🥲

I absolutely recommend Nick and J's. Was my first time yesterday but am planning to go again asap, possibly today to try their special. This was by far the best burger I have had in years! I got the Brownstone with fries, fries were great, and my fiance got the Shazam with onion rings, also delicious. Highly recommend!! Absolutely! Update: I went again for the lunch special today. Country fried steak and sausage gravy, mashed potatoes with gravy, fried okra and a roll 🤤!!! Fiance got the corned beef brisket reuben and fried mushrooms. I loveeeee this place!! And the employees are wonderful!!

One the best privately owned and run dinners in West Knoxville. They have a great selection of fast and delicious food for breakfast or lunch. You'll probably have to wait for a table, but it's worth the wait.

Great place to go to for comfort food and large portions of food. Spaghetti special for me today was exceptional and didn't have any heartburn or indigestion afterwards even after working in the extreme heat all afternoon great prices and great food.

Love this local business I recommend a Ruben or a burger if you go for lunch….biscuits and gravy if you are there for breakfast.

Food is always great. There’s a touch of something sweet in the Chicken Bowl and I can’t figure it out. Service is great and always fast. And the owners are incredibly kind. Perfect diner vibes, and great local spot for a family breakfast or lunch.

Stopped in for a chicken sandwich to-go order for lunch today. Even with a line wrapped around the building, I was in and out in no time. Service was exceptional and the food was wonderful. Excited to go back!

The food was ok but the prices were astronomical for glorified Waffle House. Service was fantastic, Server was very sweet

Great food and service not a bad dish of food on anything you order.Homemade pies for desert,and have one of the best hamburgers in the area,also one of the best steak in sack sandwiches,along with place lunches.They are always busy,just open for breakfast and lunch close at 3 pm.

Just moved here a few weeks ago and my boyfriend told me we have to go here for me to try it . He's been here many times before but it's my first time trying this place...and let me tell you. I am forever going to be a repeat customer ! The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal! the atmosphere is wonderful and very enjoyable . This place is packed and there are cars lined around the building and now I can see why. I love local small businesses and this one is my favorite so far when it comes to restaurants! Met the owners and they treated us like family and old friends. They have a 100% lifetime customer 🖤😊

Great service and a nice classic diner with a full menu generous portions an funny signs. The people are friendly and I got a lot of food for not very much money. Menu attached for breakfast. Lunch menu much larger. Prices have gone up since I took this pic, but not bad, all a good deal.

What a great surprise during our visit to Knoxville Saturday morning! The place was jumping, but we got on the list and were seated in about 10 minutes. Great server, and excellent food! We got a "table pancake" for the three of us to share, and it was crispy and awesome. Daughter had a bowl that she said was delicious. Husband's veggie omelet was great too. I got a classic breakfast that came as ordered and everything was good. Biscuits and gravy looked popular. The owners were pleasant and everyone was doing a great job We'll be back whenever we're in town and the opportunity arises!

I wish this was closer to us. I've had breakfast and lunch there, both have been great. The spicy burger was perfect and the fries hot a crisp. The club was really good as well. Would eat here again for sure.

The perfect locally-owned diner experience which is hard to find nowadays, very friendly staff and owners too. I made it in right before they switched to lunch at 1030, and I ordered the Meat Lovers bowl with a side of biscuits and gravy. Watched the cook make my breakfast, she was very quick and put together everything effortlessly. The fried potatoes were crispy, the various meat was amazing, the cheese on top had a melty pull to it. Eat the massive bowl in minutes, and then devoured the biscuits and gravy. No complaints there either, very good. There's a reason the parking lot is full anytime of day, it's simply one of the last great diners in the area. Before I left they were smashing patties on the griddle for lunch and it smelled amazing, I can't wait to come back and try lunch!

Treated myself to my first breakfast at Nick &J's Cafe this morning. The food was fantastic. The kitchen was clean and orderly and the service was prompt. So much better than any chain restaurant! Highly recommended!

First off the place was really neat and clean. Found out the guy that wrote down our name was the owner and he was fun to watch.My family was pleasantly surprised thaat they knew what a Basted egg was due to so many resturants NOT knowing. The food was great and you got more then what you paid for.The cookies are huge and road ready. Some of the best Sausage Gravy around.

Edit to add on 3/9/24, today we came back and the line was out the door in the rain!! Their breakfast is amazing and the lunch menu is always delicious. Left with 3 very gigantic cookies for later. The staff is always amazing and very attentive!! If you’ve not been then it’s a must that you visit. I didn't take any pictures but a picture wouldn't do it justice. I had the Reubens with sweet potato fries and a side of fried okra. My daughter had a double whammy with fries. The food was amazingly delicious. We split a piece of thin mint pie that was off the charts delicious. I can't believe we haven't ate here before. Even at 2:00pm the place was busy. We will definitely be back and want to try their breakfast. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. I believe the owners were there and they are the sweetest. The service was great.

What an amazing place to eat. I would have left a five star review alone based on the food, but the owner and employees deserve 10 stars of not more. My son just got out of a doctor's checkup and they made him feel loved and cared for. We live 30 minutes away, but we will be making the drive to support this family owned business. Go share your blessings with these wonderful people!

When I was a kid, a group of friends and I would come here for breakfast before school once a month. Predictably yummy food (especially the biscuit and gravy) and nice big windows, good service, ma & pop vibe. Glad it's still doing well after these many years. 🍳

We come here often. Haven't found anything that I have eaten that didn't taste great. Plenty of food options for your liking. If you leave there hungry,it's you fault because their portions are good sized some oversized take 2 persons to eat it all. We highly recommend you try this place and it is very reasonably priced for what all you get. Try the steak in a sack. Very Good

My husband and I visited on Friday for lunch. We were lucky to find a parking spot because they are always slammed! It had been years since we had been here, but one thing has not changed: it's awesome! I had the club and my husband had a bacon cheeseburger. They were both top notch. The onion rings were some of the best I've had. We sat at the counter so our waitress never let us run out of drinks. She was such a sweetheart and really knows (or gets to know) her customers. You can tell there's lots of regulars. She talked us into dessert. Ok, it didn't take much convincing. The peanut butter pie and banana pudding were phenomenal! Their prices are great for the amount of food you get. We will definitely be back soon for breakfast! Ok, so breakfast is just as amazing! We lucked out and they happened to be opened on a Sunday. The pancakes and biscuits & gravy were delicious! They also had homemade cinnamon rolls available and they did not disappoint! The staff and owners are always so friendly. A must visit in Knoxville!

Let me just start off by sayinnnng the food was so DELICIOUS! The Service is EXCELLENT and so friendly. When we came there was a line out the door but we got in pretty quickly. If I could give 10 stars I definitely would bc they are worth that and so much more. Also they are way better than these chain restaurants!

We initially wanted breakfast but they stop serving at 11 am. So we definitely tried lunch! The system they have is on point. You get your food fast and it’s made to order! The service we received from Miss Linda today was phenomenal! Not only is she wonderful to the customers but she’s wonderful to the employees as well. I wanted a traditional Reuben but I did not think they had corned beef per their menu, so I requested a Reuben made with pastrami instead of the turkey and Linda was more than happy to oblige. My husband ordered the Way Burger and onion rings. He was in love! While our food was being prepared, we both requested for deserts first and they brought them right away. I had the banana pudding, very good. My husband had apple pie with a heaping of icecream! He said it was delicious! I wanted to try a bite of the pie but it was devoured before I could get my hands on it. We enjoyed our meal and will be going back to try the breakfast! Support local!!!!

After keeping my eye on this place, I couldn't resist stopping by while I was in the area. The breakfast blew me away, especially the biscuits and gravy – hands down the best in East Tennessee!

The owner came and sat down with our party. We laughed and talked and felt right at home. The food was amazing and the service was wonderful!!
