Had an amazing breakfast! Waffles looked gigantic!

The waitress was as amazing as the food. She was such a beautiful soul. And the food was to die for. I've waited in line at fast food and it took more time then it did for our plates to come out. Love this place.

Nina's used to be a favorite place of mine for breakfast, but the food and service has sharply declined over this year. Yesterday, I ordered meals for pickup. When I arrived at home, a meal was missing and my western omelet and grits was bad - burnt bacon in the flat omelet and grits that were lumpy and tasteless. I will find a new breakfst spot.

The manager was rude, loud and ghetto. I will never eat there again. Some of the food was burnt and potatoes hard. When we addressed it with the Mgr she argued and debated with us about it. Then she went in back to discuss it with the owner. She was so loud everyone in the restaurant could here her yelling. Her lack of professionalism was unbelievable. If I could give them a zero I would. RESPONSE: Now I see where your so called Mgr gets her behavior from. It starts at the top. I ate one potatoes and told her they were hard. I never ate anything else off my plate. I didn't get a chance to we were to busy debating with your self appointed manager. It is truly disappointing that you as the owner would lie about your customer eating the food and our experience. This is a sad day for your establishment. Male KAREN, lier, lier

Been a very long time since I've eaten at Nina's. I'm sad that I didn't come back years ago. I've missed out on many good meals, I'm pretty sure of that When I walked in I was greeted immediately, followed up by ordering. A few customers at the counter and a couple groups of 2-3. Very comfortable diverse atmosphere, tables nicely spaced for adequate speaking privacy. Though I was alone. With new very harsh diet restrictions. I was so happy to see honey individuals right next to the jellies. Home made breads, the toast was amazing. I have a feeling they could tell you each ingrediant, and you would have them in your kitchen. ** personal challenge ** buy a loaf a bread from the store and tell me what the ingredients are I kept the menu after she took my order, (to scan future meals if I liked my food). Their menu has a nice variety not 200 extra items. What they cook, they excell it. Wow, I thought the honey was impressive, they had more then a hand full of items that even my doctor would smile and approve of. Great egg options A good tasting meal at an honest and affordable price, what a rarity. I tried Nina's for the first time yesterday. My son and I love ihop's chocolate chip pancakes. Nina's pancakes were good, but the pancakes and smoky links were burnt. The pancake mix could also be a little thicker. The bacon and hashbrowns were very good. The French toast was thick and looked good, but tasted kinda weird. I think I'm going to order again tomorrow. Please don't burn our links and pancakes again lol. *Update to Owner's response: You should see it was takeout. How do I talk to the server lol? Get better menu pictures and descriptions on Door Dash. Also, allow customers to leave notes/special requests on their orders.

Nice place from outside. Service was very unwelcoming and of putting. The meal was very good but did not finish meal. I’m new to area and just want to find a nice place to eat but the service was just very negative and I didn’t feel comfortable finishing my meal. Only three other patrons in cafe. It was very obvious to me that I wasn’t welcome by wait staff. Will not return to a place that I’m not made to feel welcome. If you are new in area don’t bother going to Nina’s.

Overall it was a great breakfast and the omelette was fantastic. They do there hash browns perfectly,as well as the toast. I would honestly go back just to talk more with the pretty gals.

Very friendly service, and the French toast was great. Can't say if it's the best in K-zoo, but it was good. That homemade bread definitely put it above places that use bagged bread. The portions were also hefty, so it's lunchtime and I'm still full 🤣

I ordered an omelet and potatoes and sausage gravy. So delicious. I recommend nina Cafe to all my friends. Thanks for another great breakfast

The sausage biscuits and gravy was some of the worst I have EVER had. The sausage tastes horrible and has the texture of canned cat food. Not joking. Really disappointing. Service was good though and the food came out fast. EDIT- For the business to say they have recieved many good reviews on their biscuits and gravy when the business has changed their sausage within the last two weeks. I don't happen to see any reviews about the biscuits and gravy since then. Pretty bold. Sausage biscuits and gravy is my favorite breakfast food, I've been eating it for 20 years and have gotten it from just about every establishment in the local area(Go to La Rue's if you want a decent biscuits and gravy, they have the best around). This is not a me issue, what I was served was flat out disgusting.

Way understaffed, too small for all the people waiting. We were seated for 30 minutes. No one took our order, so we left.

I’ve only ever ordered delivery through DoorDash but the food and prices are great! Many breakfast places are now insanely expensive and I love a hometown type restaurant that doesn’t price gouge! The omelettes and skillets are incredible! Never disappointed!

Get no silverware no condiments because door dash said don't put it in .when I called door dash they never said anything. Nina's cafe is a liar. Just stupid to think people are from the stone age and can eat with their hands. Some people don’t have any brain

Little disappointed, first the biscuits and gravy were beyond too salty, second, they got my drink order wrong even though the correct order was written on the box.

I found this place on Google Maps, and I appreciated the unique menu options. Decided to stop by while we were in the area on the way to a concert. My husband and I both enjoyed breakfast there. He got the shrimp and cream cheese omelet, and I got the buffalo chicken hash. The staff was very friendly and it was a great experience. Highly recommend.

My go-to is the Southwest Mess, a breakfast skillet that is spicy with chorizo and jalapenos, along with potatoes, onion, peppers, meats, eggs, and cheeses (including pepper jack).

First time visit. The first impression was that this place looked like they make great food. The waitress was amazing for all the work she was doing. The food was amazing, I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Hash. It was so delicious, and the portion was great. Sourdough toast was also very tasty. Very nice atmosphere, very comfy. Great prices as well!

Update: The hot dogs are exquisite. Quite simply the best restaurant in the history of the world. I eat here twice a day; breakfast and lunch. If it were open for dinner, I’d eat that here too. 10 out of 5 stars, exceptional service and quality.

Unfortunately the service was the worst my wife and I have ever received. Upon arrival we walked over to a table being wiped down (we stood off to the side clearly able to see it was in the process of being cleaned and wanted to be out of the way) and were snapped at by the woman telling us “can’t sit here” so we sat at the only other table available. After about 10 minutes of waiting they brought us some water and coffee and then 5 minutes later asked us to move to the previous table we tried sitting at. Food was absolutely amazing. Best biscuits and gravy I’ve had since moving from the south. Unfortunately due to the service I wouldn't recommend it.

The food here is phenomenal. Their waffle selection is insanely good. Their freshly milled oatmeal is also the best oatmeal I've ever had. The biggest drawback is the service. The service can be super hit and miss, so be prepared. The food is so good that the service struggles aren't a big deal. This restaurant is definitely worth checking out.

Amazing food! Cute little shop, classic american diner. I sat up at the bar, i got the steak and eggs, poached with rye toast. Fantastic! Cheyenne was my waitress, fast repsonive service. Food was up fast. A must stop, best breakfast in town!

I love Nina's, especially sitting at the bar - it's like a neighborhood pub, but with omelettes instead of beer. The food and the service are terrific and the kitchen is incredibly fast at getting meals to the table. The staff are friendly, competent, and fun. I especially look forward to seeing Cheyenne and Joe each week. Highly recommended!

My dad ordered tamales from here and there was spots of mold on them. Very unprofessional because my family and I were excited to go home and eat some tacos but they had mold and we had to throw out all of them. However this isn’t the only experience with the place. The chips here are extremely stale. Do yourself a favor and don’t eat here.

Fantastic food but horrible service. Waitress was the hostess and cashier and was quite rude. Never got us the things we asked for after she dropped off the food and never brought the check. If you have a lot of time to wait the food is good

Nina’s is an amazing restaurant. The food is delicious, with lots of variety and very fairly priced. The service is outstanding, with the servers being both friendly and knowledgeable. We rarely eat breakfast or lunch anywhere else!

The waitress with a really tight pony tail is constantly rude. I've had so many bad experiences with her as it seems everyone else has. Came in to have a few cups of coffee at the bar. Was possibly going to order something after I drank a few cups then was possibly going to get something to go. The waitress instantly said if I'm ordering to go food I had to wait by the chairs. Then she walked off and got me an unwanted 20oz To go coffee. I tried to explain when she came back I wanted to just drink some coffee and maybe eat something and maybe take something to my daughter's at home. She got even more frustrated with me and asked what it was I even wanted. I responded by saying nothin and left. This waitress clearly is driving business away. This has been one of my favorite spots over 15 years and I begin to wonder why when treated like this. Completely ruined my morning. Even the others at the bar understood what I was trying to do. It's like it's unheard of to that waitress that a person might want to sit at the bar and drink coffee in a diner. Lots of good items at Nina's but the service and attitude from the waitress with a tight pony tail isn't one of them. This clearly needs to be addressed by mgmt based on the many negative reviews specifically directed at her and only her.

Probably my fiancé and I's favorite breakfast joint in the area. Service is always fast and quality, the food is delicious, and it has that homey feel I love about small eateries such as these. The owner is amazing and employs a handful of folks who lie on the spectrum. As someone with family also on the spectrum, I love this. Once I learned of it, my love for Nina's only grew, and I will absolutely continue to patronize it as long as we live here.

Very rude waitresses always in a bad mood. if you're looking for friendly service, this is not the place horrible customer service.

This is my 3rd and last experience at this place. I wanted to really like it because the food is great. However, the managers verbal assault on me was the last straw. I ordered food the first time a couple of weeks ago. Didn't get any silverware. I called. They explained they do not provide silverware if it's not asked for. Ok. I get it. It's expensive. No worries. They replaced the meal and it was good. The second time, I asked for silverware and got it but something was missing. Then today, I asked for silverware and jelly. It's written on the box. None of that was included. I called. I spoke to a young lady who claimed to be the manager. She continued to talk over me. She got angry at me and was yelling. When I asked why she was yelling she said she wasn't, she just talks loud. She did say she would make sure in the future there was silverware in the bags to avoid this issue. I said well, what do I do about the food today. She said she obviously couldn't send it through air so I could either go buy some or drive there if I wanted. I said i ordered it because I can't leave work. She said she didn't know how to help me then. I continued to ask why she was yelling and she finally said because she's already apologized and doesn't know what I want or how to help me. I told her it was frustrating to have food in front of me I couldn't eat. She said she couldn't leave work to bring it to me. I said me either and I'm not asking her to. This just resulted in more yelling. I've been a manager for almost 25 years. I have NEVER yelled at a customer with a legitimate concern. That is NOT how you handle the situation. You listen. Let them vent it out. Offer a reasonable solution and we move on. A reasonable solution isn't to talk to other employees about me when I can hear you, yell, get angry and keep yelling at me. I am all done. I know my business doesn't mean anything to them and that's ok. I just will not continue to give my hard earned money to an establishment where it's acceptable for a "manager" to yell at a paying customer with a legitimate problem. In response to the owner reaching out I'd like to say first, I appreciate that. Second, my frustration stems from not being provided what is needed to eat the food I've paid for. You got my money. I got nothing. Anyone would be upset with that. Honestly, I could've dealt with the frustration of that. What I absolutely can not tolerate is an employee yelling at me. I'm a whole adult. I accepted the apology for the mistake. I had ZERO issue with that. I was trying to find a reasonable solution and all she did was get angrier and yell. That. I absolutely can not and will not tolerate being treated like that.

Amazing food. Service good seemed like only one e server but she did great!!!

Got the 6oz steak with three eggs and fries and white toast for $15, a fruit cup, and orange juice. I don't think anything was seasoned with even salt or pepper. The only part of this meal I could taste is the fruit. Can't even taste butter on the bread – is there any? Didn't get the fries I ordered, got mushy mushy potatoes instead, also flavorless. It was delivery though which is never the best foot, food arrived super quick, and portions were great. Oh and also the fruit cup was delicious! I often find them to have some not-quite-ripe fruits elsewhere so this was a nice treat. It has an orange slice, bananas, grapes, pineapple, cantaloupe, and watermelon :)

Pleasant place to eat. Service was surprisingly quick. However, I had the breakfast skillet I asked about the additional pricing and was told the 6.50$ was for the egg and potatoes each additional was .50$. Got my bill and the meat was 2.50 and the spinach was a dollar. Either way that is a big price difference from what my waitress quoted me. What a first time visit, smh.

Food is pretty tasty but the fly traps above the table and the dirty walls kinda ruined our appetites. We ended up asking for a to go container after taking a look around.

This place is excellent! The service and the food are great. You get a lot of food for the price which I appreciate and it is cooked perfectly. We have been everywhere in Kalamazoo where I am actually from so know the area well. You really need to try Nina’s!

Can I give less stars? The owners need to stop giving lukewarm responses to the issues involving the behavior of their staff and actually do something about it. Everyone is short staffed, everyone has off days, everyone has issues. That, as you said, is no excuse so do not use it as such. We called in a large order, making sure to keep it organized so it was understood, and did not receive one of our parties lunch. After driving across town and back we made the phone call to ask the manager if we could have this issue fixed. After she had sufficiently convinced us to never come back she also refused to fix the issue. Hopefully the refund does go through as she stated it would. First and last time at Nina's Cafe. 3/28/23 I would like to address the response. Your preferred online ordering, according to you, is grubhub. If you have incorrect menus floating about on random websites it would be in your best interest to correct that. Might I suggest on your own website? As for the refund, that still hasn't hit the account. We can put a pin in that for now. Since you can muster up such snappy language for one review I would think a refund will be no problem.

We love this little diner. Both Jessica and Cheyenne are warm and friendly every time we come in. It feels like family and no where else that I know of can you get a 6 egg omelette. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and good people.

Mistakes happen, and thats understandable, but the extremely RUDE response received from them is NOT acceptable! They refused to correct THEIR mistake. Unaccepted!! DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Do not go here they are races and very disrespectful everybody in there and the food was horrible also never will go back to this place and it was my first time they deserve no stars but I had to put at least one to make this review but I do not recommend coming here unless u are white if you are black don’t come here. Don’t get why people work in customs services to be rude and races

I’ve only dined in at Nina’s and it was good. I had the Wet breakfast burrito and I loved it. My only problem is when I had a few people over for the weekend and we decided to order Nina’s. Unfortunately we could not get in contact with anyone. We called every morning to try and place an order and all that happened was we were put on hold for 5-7 minutes (being 7 is the longest we’ve waited before just hanging up).For the entire weekend. I’ve just lost my patience and decided I will not order from there again. Good food but only dine in don’t waste your time calling.

I’ve eaten here before and the food was good, but todays experience was not cool. We called to see what the wait time was and they told us there was no wait time. So we show up and they say there is no wait time because they won’t give an estimate but there are 3 groups ahead of us. Very misleading and the girl who I spoke to was rude and unprofessional.

Wasn't even 12:30 today when a friend and I walked in for lunch, the woman behind the counter says, "Sorry guys we're closed", no explanation given, we walked out and checked the website and door hours posted, both saying closing time at 2 p.m. won't be going back

Very casual breakfast place. Wide variety of options on their menu. Not a ton of seating, but quick service. Their bread seemed to be homemade and their hashbrowns were perfectly crispy.

Amazing selection of options on the menu. Probably offer anything in any combination you can think of. We each had a pumpkin pancake on the side which was excellent. You won't go away hungry here. This place is clearly the best breakfast around. Highly recommend and worth driving from GR or anywhere else.

Don't expect a smile when your in Nina's, nor fast service..Six people were ahead of us and the wait staff were empting clean dishes instead of busing table so other could sit down..We had to ask for menu's and coffee..The grits I ordered looked like dried out mashed potatoes..This is twice we got bad service so we will not return..Too bad cause mostly the food is pretty good..

After living in Kalamazoo all these years, I finally tried this place with my husband and sister. We were extremely happy with the food. The only reason this is not a 5-star is because upon first impression the young lady at the front was pretty snippy when we came in. It was our first time and when we asked what the estimated wait time was she snapped at us and told us they don't have one and that the only thing to do was add our name to the written list and wait around. We decided to wait and waited roughly 25 minutes before being called to our table.

I recently bought breakfast here and the food is always very tasty and plentiful. However, on my last visit, which was a takeout order of almost $50, I ordered a stack of pancakes which I did not receive. I called back and the owner realized the mistake and told me through the waitress that he would make my pancakes and I could pick them up that day. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it back due to work. I called today, 5/26/22 to try and get them and was told that he probably wasn't going to make them because I couldn't come the day they weren't placed in my order. I was in hold for 10 minutes as they went to ask him about it and then someone hung up on me. I called back to a busy signal. Even places like McDonald's will make your order right a week later if you can't make it back. This was very bad business and I'm not sure I want to frequent this establishment again. I'm letting everyone know the food is good, service is questionable if you don't get everything right then. You may never get it.

Nina's quickly became a family favorite. Wonderful breakfast and quite possibly the friendliest staff we have experienced while dining out in the area. Nina's is a must try for breakfast!

My family lived over by Nina's cafe a few years ago. We decided to try the restaurant and have been eating breakfast here ever since! My children and I love their chocolate chips pancakes. They have both a breakfast and lunch menus.

Located in the heart of West Main hill, Nina’s cafe has been a staple of Kalamazoo as an amazing place near campus to get breakfast. They carry both breakfast and lunch menus, and are good with custom orders! I recommend the sour dough toast with honey, as well as any of the wrap ups. The fruit cups are also notably the freshest serving we’ve gotten at a restaurant. High quality, amazing food to get you going for the day!

If it even sounds slightly interesting to you, try the wet breakfast burrito! It is incredible! While all the other items on the menu are also excellent, and the oatmeal is some of the tastiest you'll find, that burrito will leave you satisfied. The staff here are wonderful, you will be welcomed as a friend even if it is your first visit. The service will be prompt and complete, and they won't be rushing you out the door. If you see a line of people waiting to get in, it's because it really is that good. Home style cooking served up with old school service and ambiance make Nina's Cafe a winner all around.

First time there. Loved the atmosphere. A young man there was greeting every and asking their name, he remembered ours and thanked us for coming in when we left. The staff was all amazing and the food was delicious. Will be back for sure.
