This place is so good. It's great

The food was excellent as always.

In Covington, for work, across from the hotel was this Chinese restaurant, believe me when I say..this place is the BOMB!!!! I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, which was mouthwatering delicious. It came with fried rice and wontons. The portions were HUGE.. I've eaten twice, and I still have half! The service was super fast and super friendly. I will definitely be stopping by there again!!!

We usually love eating here but we had a male server that was very rude, never greeted us, never asked how we were doing, was slamming the plates and tickets down. Overall horrible server anytime we come here he’s never pleasant but this was ridiculous.

This place is always top-notch every time we go.The service and the food are always consistent.

I have eaten here many many times. Not once has it ever disappointed! First class outfit all the way. This is now my "go to" Chinese restaurant!

Everything was good until there were multiple tables. The waitress gave the wrong drinks, didn’t bring drinks when empty, and then after bringing the check and signing and leaving a cash tip the waitress pointed out the tip chart and also said I only get $2/hr. The proceeded to keep begging for a tip. Extremely unprofessional after a meal to be harassed about a tip that was already left in cash!

We ordered the Kung bo chicken and sweet and sour chicken, seems to be my wife and my favorite go to when at a Chinese restaurant, I’m not quite sure what the Kung bo chicken I ordered was what I actually got, it had broccoli, baby corn , carrots, and a thin watery sauce, don’t get me wrong.. it was good but didn’t taste like Kung Bo chicken to me . Sweet and sour chicken was really good! If I go back I will try the same order and see what I get. Good food but not great but would try again!

Shrimp with Lobster sauce had the runniest, wateriest lobster sauce I have ever seen. Plenty of smallish shrimp in it. The presentation of everyone’s lunch was attractive and my mother in law liked her Moo Goo Gai Pan. Nothing available for birthday lunch. Not impressed

Sweet and sour chicken has no pineapple, o ions or peppers. , o flavor . honestly, I am over this place. Won tons were stale too.kids Shrimp was all thick batter, little shrimp inside heavy batter. The food is amazing!!! I mean literally everything on the menu is amazing. The food is cooked to order, they will add spice or remove spice, veggies whatever….the Char Siu Pan melts in your mouth it is so tender. THE absolute best Pork Fried Rice I’ve ever had….it has a few bean sprouts in it….and let me just say….it is a meal in and of itself!!! And their First Asian Soup has chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, wontons and veggies….I have dreams about this soup….again….a meal by itself….and let me just say, Ms. Tweety is just the jewel on top.

We always wanted to try this restaurant but they are closed on Sundays. We went on Saturday evening, there were wait lists but we sat down pretty quickly. The food was very good, but the service was little slow because it was busy. My favorite was the egg rolls!

I have always enjoyed Northshore Empress. The service has always been impeccable. I was disappointed in our last visit because the service was very slow. It wasn't particularly crowded so I'm not sure why it took so long for our orders. We ordered the eggrolls as an appetizer and they were fantastic. We finished our appetizer and it took at least thirty minutes before our entree was brought out. To add disappointment, my entree was incorrect. I didn't complain because I didn't want to wait another thirty minutes before receiving the proper order. The cost of the two entrees was the same so I just ate what was brought. The food was good as usual. We will return because everyone can have a bad night. Hopefully things will be back to normal.

This was my first visit and at lunch (1:00pm). Had Thurs special sweet n sour chicken and Kung Bo Chicken. Generous portions nicely presented. Great quality chicken; however, there was no flavor in the chicken itself. Sweet n sour tasted more like it was right out of the bottle. Kung Bo was good and very well garnished but no better than an average buffet. The three won tons served with each meal were nice and thick. They were nice and huge! Two were getting on the stale side. Hot tea is served in nice big heavy mugs with one refill. Clean bathroom. Beautiful glass etchings on the room dividers. I see a lot of great reviews on some of the other dishes so I'll probably go back for a second meal.

Highly recommend the restaurant for quality of preparation of meals, service and atmosphere. Crispy Duck is Delicious, yes with capital “D”and large portion too. I travel about 50 miles, round trip, to dine here and truly do it without hesitation. It worthy of the car expense, travel cost, to dine at Empress Northshore.

Update: got take out again, very pleased. Food was hot and fresh, prices good. Olympics opening ceremonies day seemed like the perfect time to try Northshore Empress for the first time. We ordered takeout and were told pickup in 25 minutes, went 5 minutes early, food was ready. But it was cold and old, as if it came off of a steam table with the heat turned off. The mandarin chicken and empress (general Tso) chicken both had great warm sauces on them but the generous portion of chicken itself was clearly cooked much earlier. The won tons and egg roll were not crispy at all. A few minutes in the air fryer made them edible. The potsticker was beyond redemption, a hard doughy mess with a pasty filling. The entrees were generous and inexpensive but the sides were relatively overpriced even if the quality had been better. We went here for the first time tonight with our toddler who was super cranky and uncooperative. The staff was SO nice and patient and went out of their way to be helpful. If we get two wonton soup bowls, a bowl of hot & sour and an order of chicken fried rice (neutral ground for kids) it feeds all of us. Because it's a mix between Chinese and Vietnamese, you might not find every Pho dish on the menu. When you go to a Chinese or Mexican restaurant your expectations are usually not too high. We were driving by Northshore Empress and the building was so attractive we decided to give it a try. I was hoping for a buffet but they seem to be a thing of the past. This was an order from the menu format. The interior was above average and the restaurant was almost full so we thought it must be good. We ordered 2 eggrolls , beef and broccoli, and shrimp with lobster sauce. These are common entrées so thought it would be good. The egg rolls came out and they were unimpressive . I would not be surprised if they were frozen since they were 100% cabbage and the wrap was hard. The shrimp dish was like soup so not really happy. The beef and broccoli were tasteless. I can't comment on other selections but feel there is no passion to put out anything except generic food. Service was okay but waitress did not ask about refilling drinks till the food was completely eaten. Needless to say we will not be returning.
