Literally the best bbq you'll ever taste. Best brisket I have ever tried. Worth the drive no matter how far.

I LOVE Papaw's! Only get to visit a couple times a year but make sure I go there every time! Best Ribs anywhere! Papa always remembers me too. Such a great man and Mrs. Is always so sweet!

Got the pork platter, cole slaw, and Brunswick stew. Pork was super tender, melts in your mouth. Cole slaw was very good, similar to the colonel’s. The Brunswick stew was great but not quite how I like mine. It was quite good though. Don was very polite and friendly. Service was fast and a great team. I will be back soon for the ribs.

Gotta stop here if u can!!! We always make a stop when we are up this way.. u won't be disappointed.

The chopped pork is the best around. The potato salad is homemade. Its great. The staff is friendly and the owner is even more friendly. We go frequently. They even offer a few tables outside under cover for a quick meal. It’s even more rewarding when you get to support a local business who provides such good food.

I’m 47 years old and eat BBQ regularly. This was by far some of the best I’ve ever had. The brisket was the juiciest and most tender I’ve ever eaten. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the wings were excellent. Baked beans and potato salad were also good. We tried three of the sauces and all were excellent. He let us sample a piece of the turkey and it was absolutely delicious. If we lived closer, we would eat here all the time. I’m already planning to come up here next Thanksgiving to get some of this turkey. It’s worth the drive.

The ribs were good Edit: to your reply...Yes, it was your establishment. It was around 5 or 6 on Sat evening 10/14/23. We were on our way to our next campsite in Cleveland and Yes, I was in another state the day before. I gave you a 3 because .. the brunswick stew, taste mainly of tomato sauce out of a can & the potato salad was flavorless & the bread seemed to be an afterthought since it was just a plain slice of bread not toasted or anything. Didn't try the sauce..but, the ribs were good!

Just what you expect in outdoors mountain Bar-B-Q! The wings... Great rub with one of the 9+ sauces. . The PAW PAW sauce goes great with them. They also have a great mountain furniture store. I'll be back there soon! Went back 7 Oct 2023 Just as great s before, and in our opinion, better than Dam Good BBQ.

Best beef brisket and ribs I've had

Amazing food. Best smoked wings I have had. They are not deep fried. Done in the smoker. The pulled pork sandwich was piled high and oh so good. We ate at the picnic tables in front. It was PawPaw's birthday and he came to check how we liked the food. Can't wait to visit again.

Fantastic food, great people, great service. I saw the way they cook their BBQ - this is THE REAL DEAL. Top level, fall off the bone ribs, great pulled pork, the baked beans are made with pineapple and are to die for. Do not go to the place next door (I have never tried it so it may be good but there is NO WAY it’s as good as this place). Go here! You won’t regret it!!!

Don & Debra have an awesome place here with excellent tasting grub. The brisket is super yummy? The sweet tea is southern sweet? Yummy coleslaw n tater salad, too. Don is friendly as all get out. He'll have u chuckling with a few fishing tales. Or describing how much love he puts into preparing his products for u. The outside seating with ceiling fans are perfect. Then take a lil stroll into the Amish store on-site. Lovely jams for sale. I love the Toe Jam! Frog jam is good and the traffic jam is yummy, too

Edit: Made it back for the second time for dinner with my parents. Mom had pulled pork, dad and hubby has the 4 rib meal, and I had the pulled pork sandwich again. It was so good! Have the honey hot BBQ sauce. It's delicious! We've been meaning to stop by Papaw's and we got to meet Don and chat with him about his food. We returned layer that afternoon and picked up 4 ribs and a pulled pork sandwich. The apple pie was recommended to us so we got a couple of slices as well. Both the ribs and pulled pork were delicious. The pork had no fat in it and I really appreciated that. I loved the hot honey BBQ sauce and my husband liked the Carolina mustard BBQ sauce. The apple pie filling was really good but the crust was way too thick and almost bread-y and we wouldn't get it again. All-in-all, we'd return for the meat again.

I eat here at least once a week. Need I say more? Best brisket & Brunswick stew around. Pulled pork & baked beans are also out of this world. If the banana pudding is on the menu the day you go I highly recommend it. Sweet tea is also perfect. Honestly just friendly folks serving great food made from scratch.

I can't speak to the BBQ except for the delicious smell. Papaw was very welcoming, and his shop is full of beautiful cabin rotating rockers, chairs, and stools. If you're looking for some tasty local canned (mason jars) goods, they exist there in all the local fair and jams.

Papaw's BBQ was a meal I am not soon to forget. The brisket was incredibly tender, the sauces were delicious, the potato salad and baked beans were perfect, and according to the rest of my family everything else I didn't have was to die for, including the ribs and wings. From the giant wood-fed smoker in the shed to the outdoor seating and cozy shop next door selling jams and jellies, it was simply a joy being here, eating and talking BBQ with the owner. He knows his stuff and was more than generous in sharing tips and tricks to this Colorado amateur. Thank you for the amazing food and conversation - you better believe we will be back!!

Papaw's Trading Post has great meals. The pulled pork was perfectly cooked, the coleslaw and baked beans are very good too. The store has a lot of jams and other canned products. They also sell furniture and vegetables.

BBQ ribs are perfectly smoked, very meaty with very little fat. Paw Paw’s original BBQ sauce is home made and amazing! BBQ the way it should be. I’m spoiled now!

Best brisket east of west Texas. An absolute must try. Best place we have found in the greater Franklin Murphy Clayton area.

Our first time here and it won’t be our last. My wife had brisket which she raved about and I had the pulled pork which was moist, tender, and full of flavor. The sides are just as good as the meat. Papaw was a pleasure to meet. I recommend Papaws to anyone that likes dang good food at a dang reasonable price.

Best BBQ I've had, bar none. The beef brisket will have you coming back every week. UPDATE - We have been eating there regularly now. They are indeed the best bbq in the area. Huge portions and homemade sides. They also have an attached store of Amish furniture, jams, antiques and home decor. Family owned and operated. Great people.

Just paid $28 for a rack of ribs. They were completely dried out and had no flavor whatsoever. I will not go back there!

Excellent bbq. Can't go wrong with nay of the offerings although the brisket and pulled pork are my two favorites. PawPaw (Don) cooks all day Wednesday and the food is available Thurs - Sat. Don and his wife are good people and truly friendly. Don't miss the trading store...lots' of goodies and Amish furniture

Really great food for the most part, and I think your brisket is a bit more consistent than your neighbors, and I really like your sauces! However, you guys have publicly said on a few posts that I saw recently on FB, that you have the only smoked meats on the block, and that your neighbors at Dam Good BBQ don't even use a smoker, they heat up precooked meats. That is a BLATANT lie, so why tell people that?! Your neighbors have a HUGE stainless steel smoker (I've seen it as I've jogged by), and I've seen a dump truck full of oak firewood dropped off at their location nearly every week for 2 years, so what are they doing with all that firewood? You guys are well known and have fed hundreds of very satisfied customers, and I applaud you for receiving the best BBQ in Blairsville accolade last year! Let your food continue to stand on its own merits; it simply isn't necessary to promote your business by bashing the place next door.

Super great selection of jams and preserves. Some very nice looking home made furniture. The BBQ is some of the best that we have ever tasted (Take out only).

We stopped in after a long day of putting finishing touches on our cabin in Ivy Log. I'm born and raised in Ivy Log married to a brisket-cookin Texan. The brisket was flavorful and tender but not much of a smoke flavor like my Texan is used to. We both got beans, tater salad and cobbler as sides. Just great. Portions are large and homemade. We will be back. And we'll shop at the trading post. Take a load off and pick up supper on your way home. '

Meat is well bbq, but flavorless unless you add sauces. They offered very few sides when we went there, and the tables to sit on in front of the store had not been wiped.

Not a big fan of barbecue. But as far as I'm concerned this is the best around. Well worth trying it.

Fine eating here, not next door.. Be sure you're at the one with the big smoker in front. A world of difference in taste.

What a find! And right up the road from where we're building. Food was excellent, and nine different home-made sauces to pick from. Can't go wrong!

We just had our first Papaw's experience and it was a wonderful one. We ordered the 1/2lb brisket with honey hot sauce and the chopped chicken plate with Brunswick stew, baked beans and pit fire sauce. Both entree was delish and their sauces too!!! The staffs were all so friendly and you're not going to be disappointed! 😋

The best BBQ and homemade sides in north Georgia. Pitmaster Don has a very special process for his BBQ and smoked wings not done by any other BBQ place. His wife Debbie makes all the sides and desserts herself. It is a must try. Not to be missed. PAPAWS IS THE PLACE TO BE.

If you have lived here for many years like I have, you know that Papaw’s BBQ is the original owner of this corner on Nottely Dam Rd. And the best. He had to (for some reason?) move another 100 yards toward the Dam, where now the BBQ is a part of his Antique shop and small vegetables stand. Its just the best around.

Best Brisket! Love the beef brisket here. Limited menu but everything is homemade. Baked beans with a touch of pineapple, Cole slaw, potato salad, Texas toast and of course the wonderful pit smoked BBQ. Brisket, pork, chicken, turkey, wings. These super friendly people have been doing BBQ right for many years!

Getting ready for the 4th of July with the BEST bbq in Blairsville. If you eat beef, try the brisket. If you’re a pork eater, order the ribs. You’ll be very happy you did! We’re happy we did!

Hands down the best bbq in the area. The meat is smoked to perfection, the sides are delicious (highly recommend the pineapple baked beans), and the service is fast and friendly! Unfortunately I was duped by the place next door, which microwaves all of their food, leaving it with a rubbery taste. Papaws used to be in the location that is currently Dam Good, but moved down the road. Make sure you go to the right place! I have been in the area long enough to have eaten bbq from bubbas, papaws, and dam good, and papaws is the best by far. But don’t just take my word for out, try it out for yourself!

What a great little find. Papaw is proad of his BBQ and it shows. He uses his amazing smoker that he built himself 14 years ago to get everything into perfection. There is a reason BBQ pitmasters voted his the number one BBQ in the area. Nice people and good food.

Papaw’s was amazing. We were staying in blairsville for the week and what a treat to be right down the street. I got a little bit of everything ribs, pulled pork, chicken, brisket, beans and the apple cobbler dessert. Everyone at the house enjoyed it, even the none barbecue eaters. My only regret was not seeing if I could get a bottle of their mild sauce to go. Wether local or driving by you will not be disappointed.

The BEST bbq in north Georgia! This guy knows how to smoke meat. Love their pulled pork sandwiches. Generous portions, great smoked flavor, and their own bbq sauce recipe. Don't confuse with the bbq joint next door.

The place is dumpy, but you come here for the food not the ambience. I had the rib plate. The baby back ribs were fall off the bone and super meaty. The sauces he makes are amazing. Try the Carolina sauce if you like vinegary with a touch of mustard. The cole slaw is delicious. Everything is homemade. I will definitely be back.

They closed at 7 by the time I got back it was 7: 10 he was already closed so I didn't get to eat had to go to KFC and Murphy and eat the buffet and it was average

Some of the most delicious country Bbq I've had in a long time. The bones fall right out of the ribs and it had a wonderful smoke flavor.

First off we have four kids 6 or younger so going anywhere is rather hard and most bbq places don't have room for a family this size. Anyway when we do go out service is probably more important than flavor of food. The service here is top notch, the service alone is worth the 5 star rating. The food, mostly the meats are the best I've had anywhere and I travel weekly for work through Ga. and S.C. Thank you for the wonderful service and we look forward to the 100+ mile drive just for your food.
