Had a wonderful time with two other couples. The whipped feta appetizer was excellent. The Ossi Bucco was so delicious (with risotto). Our server Kayden was on top of everything and did not miss a beat The owner stopped by and made sure we enjoyed everything… It was really a special night.

Whipped ricotta special was light and flavorful. Spaghetti bolognese cooked perfectly. Spinach and artichoke ravioli were extremely unique and my wife loved it. Our Desserts were excellent. Only complain was the bathrooms were dirty and not really updated. Fix that and it would be possibly the best restaurant on the Northshore. Along with spacing the tables a bit more. Definitely a go to spot for a date night now. Loved it.

First time customer! We arrived before 6 pm and was told all tables were booked. We ate at the bar and had an exceptional server, R. Williams. I ordered pasta bolognese and it was delicious and a large portion. My husband ordered the salmon & Vegetables. Portion was large as well and he enjoyed it but the salmon was not cooked in the middle. Meatball & Ricotta appetizer was done well & delicious. Eggplant was the only vegetarian dish. Limited parking. Overall a nice fine dining experience!

I took my parents out to eat, last night, and we discovered this absolute gem of a restaurant right by the trailhead on Girod. The atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable and just the right amount of exclusivity. Morgan was our waitress, and she went above and beyond to ensure that we had an amazing experience! But, wow, let me tell you about the food...everything was absolutely delicious! (The spinach dip w/freshly baked ciabatta was so good my mother asked for the recipe. Lol) We even had the chef himself, Mr Papillion, come to our table to inquire about the experience. Overall, we had a great one, thank you, Mr Papillion!

This gem of a restaurant has the best food! My husband and I went here for our Anniversary dinners and everything was perfect! The appetizers of shrimp scampi & the spinach ravioli were delicious. The veal piccata was melt in your mouth tender! I highly recommend this place! This chef knows food!

A wonderful dining experience !!! The food was amazing as well as the atmosphere!… Chef Papillon truly cares about his food preparation and service. Wait staff also wonderful. We had the fish special and lasagna!!A gem in Old Mandeville.

They did it again, chivalinis, spinach and artichoke dip, spaghetti Bolognese, roasted red pepper soup, bone in veal chop and black coupi. Umh,yes, please and thanks

Great food and a bike friendly location and staff, right off of The Trace

Papillon's by Gio offers the Original and local Gio's Italian dishes so you know it's going to be made fresh in house and delicious if your into Italian. The restaurants setting is more upscale, actually one of the more upscale dining options in Old Mandeville. They also added a bar down stairs for a casual atmosphere. It's located near the Mandeville Trail head, opposite side of The fire station. Its not a large space so I suggest reservations. Dress nice as well. If your into authentic Italian Dishes in an intimate setting, you should definitely visit this place. You won't be disappointed. Fyi their sauce is the best in the area. ⭐️

I visited Papillion’s for a leadership meeting with the Mande Milkshakers. The gentleman behind the bar may have made the best cup of coffee I have had in years. This service was impeccable, the food is fantastic and the ambiance is warm, inviting and upscale. I will certainly be back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Papillons. I must say that it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. From the warm and welcoming ambiance and staff to the impeccable service and, most importantly, the outstanding cuisine. Every aspect of my visit exceeded my expectations. We will absolutely be back and I look forward to our next visit!

Ordered takeout. Got two Spaghetti Bolognese. It has no taste. Ordered slapped into two cardboard boxes. Looked like potty meats placed on to a pile of spaghetti and mixed up. Will get them another chance.

Delicious Italian food with some nods to gulf cuisine. The redfish and meatballs were particularly delightful. My family came here for my father and stepmother's 25th wedding anniversary and it was a truly special experience without being stuffy or overly formal. Highly recommend.

Great locally owned restaurant. I’ve only ever been upstairs. They have a more casual hangout lounge downstairs (where you can still order the entire menu). They have all the Italian classic dishes, plus other ones. Im a red sauce girl, and I love their red sauce! Food is delicious and they have a great wine selection. Thirsty Thursdays is half off of ALL bottles. The owner, Papillon is super friendly and will stop by your table and check on you. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite places to go

I'd give 10 stars if I could! My husband and I have been coming here for almost a year. Every visit has been consistently top-notch, from service to the food and cocktails. We enjoy the relaxing ambiance and variety of menu selections. We brought our daughters for a special Christmas Eve dinner last year, and they gave the girls their own cookies to decorate, which i thought was a sweet touch. My oldest said the shrimp fettuccine primavera was the best meal she's ever had. We've never had a problem getting a reservation. I can't recommend Papillon's enough! Superb!

A hidden gem on the Northshore to be sure! I am vegetarian ( my wife is not) - the selection, preparation and taste were all spot on! Fresh ingredients prepared with knowledge and love- will be back!

My wife and I drove in from Baton Rouge for date night after we had seen several great reviews. We enjoyed the excellent spinach and artichoke dip that was offered as the special appetizer of the night. She got the spicy itiliano while I chose the spaghetti and meatballs. I also have to mention that the coconut mojito is one of the best cocktails I’ve had. I would definitely recommend trying that.

The food was fabulous. I had the simple spaghetti bolognese and loved the red sauce. The service was good but slow, so definitely go there to dine. Very good experience, will go again.

Overall it was very good. The portions were very large but were super tasty. We didn't realize that they did $5 martinis on Wednesdays so that was a bonus. Our servers were really fantastic and overall it was a great experience. I will say the 3.5% up charge for not having cash seems weirdly archaic in the era of Google/Apple Pay and all the other alternative payment options, so heads up on that.

We recently enjoyed a great meal at Papillon's Restaurant. A friendly hostess greeted us out front and directed us to a very comfortable cocktail lounge on the ground level while we waited briefly for our table upstairs. The menu features Italian and French cuisine and get ready for large portions. Savanna was our waitress and along with a friendly team of wait staff did an excellent job taking care of us. Papillon's is located at the Mandeville Trailhead, has plenty of parking and feels very safe and relaxed before even walking in. This place is a best kept secret but not for long.

An amazing experience, amazing food and an amazing atmosphere!!! Service is 10/10 very friendly staff! The food portion are very big also and the tastes is out of this world! Love Papillon's!

Great bar downstairs, with a quaint romantic atmosphere upstairs. The service was superb and the food was excellent. The Veal Piccata was fantastic, but the pasta was a little too subtle for my taste. Great deserts as well, try their Italian Cream Cake!

We went to Papillons for both our 1st and now 2nd wedding Anniversary! We thought it was amazing a year ago and after going last night, it has become even better. Upon arriving, our table wasn’t ready so they showed us to the downstairs bar/dining area. We were able to have a drink and look at the menu. Their dirty martini was delicious and had fresh blue cheese stuffed olives which complimented the drink itself so well. We ordered a Pinot Grigio - Sauvignon Blanc blend bottle of wine and it was the perfect blend of these two whites. For an appetizer we got the Bruschetta, we got this last year and it is our favorite Bruschetta in the area. The warm tomatoes on the fresh bread - you can’t beat it. For our main entrees we got the Steak Tip Risotto Special and the Osso Bucco. Both were delicious. The Osso Bucco was one of the best we’ve ever tasted. For dessert we got the coconut cream cake and the affogato with house made pistachio gelato. We left full and so happy. Papillons will continue to be our anniversary dinner their is no better Italian dining experience on the Northshore!

This place is phenomenal ! I highly highly recommend everyone to try this restaurant at least 1 time . The owners are fantastic people . The atmosphere is great , you can tell it’s a great family like oriented work place . The service was great , severs very attentive . It’s a place I could go to everyday if I could . The quality of food is unreal , the taste, the presentation are all just so wonderful .

Excellent food, cocktails and service.

Great Italian restaurant. Had the duck confit and wife had the red fish Mediterranean. Duck was some of the best duck I’ve had, cooked perfectly. Red fish equally delicious. Azlin was also a great waitress! Very engaging and attentive.

Awesome customer service, Beef Wellington - butter tender and wonderful flavor, muscles - super savory broth, risotto/crab cake - scrumptious all around. Upscale, but not pretentious. We’re going to be regulars. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Food and drinks were awesome, but our table was next to a pole in the dining room and next to the entrance to I guess the bathrooms. Dining room left a little to be desired, but the balcony looked nice for next time.

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant with fabulous food. Great venue for celebrating any occasion, or even just a friendly brunch meet up. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a classy restaurant experience!

Beautiful and clean restaurant! Food is delicious and generous portions. We had brunch on Sunday from 1000 to 1400, and this has become our favorite brunch every Sunday now. Everything on the menu is delicious and handmade. The grits is excellent, surpassed all the places we've tried. The sausage, steak, bacon, and eggs are perfectly amazing. The owner and staffs are friendly and caring. I definitely recommended restaurant.

We had Mother's Day supper Saturday night. It was absolutely delicious. The veal, lobster ravioli, spaghetti and meat balls, Lasagna. And red snapper. We shared the 4 desserts, also delicious. The wife said it was her beast Mother's Day. The wife and I joined another couple for a double date night. Absolutely the most relaxing atmosphere. We had a dark candle lit corner to contain our shenanigans. Delicious food, great service, and delicious beverages.

Papillion knocked it out of the park. A family vibe dinner experience, executed to perfection. Staff was outstanding, food was fantastic and there was a complete lack of pretentiousness. We will be back, guaranteed.

Cute little place but it is on the second floor with no elevator so some elderly folks (my mom) might have a hard time with the stairs. Staff was very attentive. Also overheard another couple who didn't like their entree and the staff swapped out their meal and brought them an appetizer in between waiting for their second dish. That's awesome!

Incredible food, atmosphere, and staff make this one of my truly favorite restaurants. Papillon and Lauren are amazing, and always make us feel welcome. I highly recommend Papillon’s to anyone that enjoys great food and an awesome dining experience.
