Always a beautiful location that throws incredible events! The staff there is always helpful and on top of their guests needs.

Wife and I are members here. Everyone we've ever taken here has loved it. Good wine, friendly staff, quite, good 3/4 season room indoor seating & ample outdoor seating w/ rolling hills and nice view of the Winery. Love when they have events and/or live music. Also love the slower days to unwind. 10/10.

We hosted a party that went perfectly - it is a beautiful winery that everyone loved and had a great time. The service was amazing the entire time to the bartender helping us even set up. I highly recommend!

Went here as part of a bachelorette party and they were extremely welcoming and flexible with our group’s desires. We spent about 4 hours here - both inside and out, great seating options and nice views. LOVED their Chardonnay, even brought home a bottle from the gift shop! Can’t wait to visit again!

I recently worked with Kacie for a private wine tasting for a small group of women that I organized through a professional association. Kacie could not have been more helpful with the booking & answering all my questions. Raechel, the winery’s in-house sommelier, was excellent in leading our tasting experience. She is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the vineyard & the wines produced. The group tasted 7 wines & were amazed with the quality of each wine sipped. Penns Woods Winery is a small producer who takes pride in the grapes they harvest & their wine making method. Highly recommend a trip to the winery, a short drive from Philadelphia, to realize that PA can produce “fine wines”.

May 2024: We visited on our wedding anniversary, which was mid-week. The setting is lovely, the wines are delicious and the service is 5-star. Kathy/Cathy was tending the tasting room during our visit and she couldn't have been more accommodating or enthusiastic about the wines. What a great woman! We enjoyed a flight (all dry offerings except a muscado, which was very good though sweet), then settled on a bottle of their Chardonnay, some delicious local cheese, plus olive oil crostini crackers. The wine was brought to us chilled in a top hat, the cheese on a cheese board with slicer, and the crostini served in a bowl - a nice touch. We settled in at a table under one of the lawn tents and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. If visiting the Chadds Ford area, be sure to add Penns Woods Winery to your list of Things To Do. You won't be dissapointed.

What a wonderful experience! We had our daughter’s bridal shower here and were extremely pleased. Kacie was wonderful to work with from the weeks of planning beforehand to the actual day of the event. She went above and beyond our expectation. The space was perfect, great wine and wonderful people. Many of our guests commented on how relaxing and comfortable the venue was. I would definitely recommend Penns Woods Winery for your event or to just visit to enjoy some good wine!

The wine was good just had a bad experience at the winery in general. My wife and I had a day off to get out and enjoy some wine. We have been to the winery once and had a good time so I figured let’s go back. We brought our 3 month old so he could get out with us and enjoy the weather! When we get to the brewery we see there is a special for a taste of all the different wines. I asked for that special but got told “I’m sorry but that’s for the tasting room only”. I said well we plan on sitting inside. Then we were told it’s 21 and older. I looked at my wife and was very confused and the woman said your baby can’t sit inside because they aren’t 21. So we had to sit outside , thank god it wasn’t cold out, because we would have left. Just a heads up if you come with a young child you won’t be allowed inside so plan accordingly

Great winery. The staff is super friendly and the wine quality is excellent. Lovely indoor space, spacious outdoor area, music on weekends during the outdoor season. Wildflower white is a favorite.

Visited today as no reservations required on weekdays and truly enjoyed our time here. Met and spoke at length with Davide, the self proclaimed "Vineyard Manager" (note: he's the wine maker). Was able to name our respective wines in our glasses by the color alone. Very pleasant gentleman. Kathy provided our service--friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. She and we spent quite a a bit of time talking about the winery and our families. Was a nice, relaxing environment. As a bonus, we were befriended by "Vino", one of Davide's dogs. Will be back again!

Was highly recommended by a good friend and a club member of Penns Woods. We went on a Sunday to celebrate a friend's birthday. We tried to bring in a small cake and were told no outside food. We accepted this and started our wine tasting. About 20 minutes after we got there another group of women came in and were allowed to bring in a cake and celebrate their friend's birthday. When asked why that was allowed I was told that a member of their party was a wine club member. I guess membership has its privileges. I told my friend about this and his comment was no outside food is allowed in, he was baffled. They may have good wine, but we won't be back and won't be recommending them because of the two standards.

Spacious, beautiful setting with quality wines! We tried the Cab Franc, Proprietor and Ameritage, all great red wines. They also have a great selection of cheeses, cured meats and crackers to make your own charcuterie. Come to find out, the cheeses we purchased were local to the area and received prestigious awards. Highly recommend!

First time here, and it was great! The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed wine tasting, baked brie, and the pumpkin spice sangria was surprisingly delicious! The staff was great and we would love to go back soon!

A hidden gem in Chadds Ford. Family owned and operated smalk business. 97% Estate grown grapes. Delicious dry PA wines. But they do offer an off dry and some sweet wines. A must visit, you won't be disappointed!

Gorgeous slice of heaven! The view is just gorgeous and the wine was delicious. Not too acidic, not too sweet, JUST right. Also the goat cheese was so delicious we ate the whole log of it between the two of us, they source it from a local farm. Overall wonderful way to spend a relaxing evening.

Here to echo what everyone else is saying, this place is very impressive. We recently hosted a surprise birthday party for my mom in the pavilion and couldn't be happier. Our event coordinator, Kacie, was awesome. She was thorough, friendly, knowledgeable, easy to work with, and a strong communicator. The property itself is beautiful. The pavilion is perfect for an event. Also it is just a cool place to be for any reason. Finally, the wine is excellent. Hardest decision we had to make was narrowing down a wine list for our guests. Way too many good options to choose from. I'm super happy we found this place. We couldn't be any happier with our decision. I would definitely host an event there again and plan on coming back to hang with friends on the weekend.

Penns Woods Winery is located very close to the Delaware/Pennsylvania line in a picturesque setting. During the summer they have live music, snacks, wine, sangria, local beer, and plenty of outdoor seating. Everyone is very friendly. It's a great place to spend the afternoon!

My boyfriend and I have been members here for a few months and we love it so I decided to celebrate my birthday here. Kacie was an amazing event coordinator. She responded to all my emails/calls and really helped to make my vision come true. Everyone had a great time with great wine and a beautiful scenery! I highly recommend renting the pavilion if you’re having a large party! 10/10

Sehr schöne Architektur.Besonders die alte Holz Farben. Die Familie ist sehr nett. Der Gegend ist wunderschön. Wir haben auch sehr gute Weine ausprobiert. Die Landschaft muss man gesehen haben. Pennsylvania hat sehr schöne Ecken. Eine davon ist hier. Käsegebäck zum Wein wird hausgemacht schmeckt auch sehr gut. Es sind viele nette Details zum fotografieren. Ein sehr gemütliches Nachmittag. Buffet hat keine große Auswahl aber dafür schmeckt alles sehr gut.

I can not say more great things about working with Kacie for a friend's bridal shower. She was very helpful leading up to the shower and even helped carry bags from my car! I would recommend Penns Wood for any small event you are hosting. The wine was wonderful as always :)

I was taken here for a birthday and overall really enjoyed my experience, but when I wanted to come back & make a reservation I was so disappointed by the customer service! There are so many absurd policies & fees around making reservations for “large parties” (8-10 people) such as a fee associated with a 24 hour cancellation policy, or a fee if “too many” members of your party drop out. And even after agreeing to all of those policies even though they seemed a little inflexible, I ended up getting my reservation CANCELLED by Pennswood three days prior to my reservation due to predicted rainy weather! I am so frustrated! If you’re going to be inflexible and enforce a bunch of fees and policies upon your guests around cancellation, the least you can do is make indoor spaces available so that customers don’t end up getting cancelled on by you. After fighting tooth & nail to get a reservation too?? The wine & atmosphere is not worth the amount of absurd regulations in place here. Edit: in regard to the long-winded response I received from Pennswood - I did not receive any messages or calls from your so-called “customer service.” Instead of writing a novel triple the length of my review, your time would likely be better spent making contingency plans to accommodate larger parties indoors when the weather is less than ideal.

My wife and I really love this place. The wine is easily the best in the area (we drive 45 minutes just to go here). They also have a very cool outdoor seating area, which almost always has live music on the weekends.

Sell out months in advance for events and members can’t get tickets for events. Every time I try to purchase tickets for and event they are sold out.When you purchase tickets it is confusing so you purchase for adults for say Easter Egg hunt and they take your money. Then you find out 9 months later you didn’t have to pay for adults. Wine is too expensive. These wineries are turning into big scams. I will just go to Total Wine from now on and sit in my beautiful backyard.

Penns Woods is the best winery I’ve ever been too. The wines are incredible and the views of the vineyard are so beautiful. I highly recommend this winery!

This winery is amazing! They have 13 acres of land with vines throughout them. There is cute outdoor seating with fire pits and indoor, covered, patio seating too! They help with engagements, bridal parties and more. The staff is very knowledgeable on the wines, the local products that they sell like cheese/honey/preserves, and it happy to make accommodations to the tasting flights. We absolutely loved the Chardonnay and the reserve Pinot Noir! We also loved the Sharp Cheddar and the Garlic Cheese on the cheese boards. We will definitely be going back.

I worked with this venue to put on an event for 30 people. They were a super helpful and communicative venue to work with and my guests had a wonderful time! Will definitely be having another event here!

First time visiting the Brandywine area, and I came to this winery due to the great reviews. The staff here were so pleasant, they really went above and beyond to make sure I had a great tasting. Highly recommend a cup of the hot mulled wine, if you go in Autumn! A unique item I haven’t seen offered at any other wineries. I did wish I could choose the wines included in my tasting, but it was a preselected list of two whites, two reds, and a rose. However, I was welcomed to just ask if I wanted to taste anything that was not on the standard list. Overall, most of the wines here seemed to be fairly light-bodied and easy drinking, as opposed to another winery I visited nearby. But I enjoyed it during my day-trip to the area. Nice experience.

My wife and I like to walk on the Brandywine trailhead starting near Pyle Road and 202. (Near the autobody) I was surprised when I found grapes growing in a field along the trail. What a great find. We walked to Penns Wood Winery and did an unexpected wine tasting. The 5 wines we tried were very good. My favorite was Pino Noir fermented with cranberry. My wife enjoyed the wild flower white with some bubbles. The grounds are very big and they can accommodate large groups. The beauty of the fall added to the whole experience. I highly reccomend it.

We attended a local horse show there. The grounds were lovely and the rosé was delicious!

Drove an hour to this winery to be told that they were closed due to an event yet on their website it said they were closing only one hour early for this event. Maybe you should update your website properly to let people know about these things so they are not inconvenienced.

Great atmosphere. Friendly hosts. Going to pair the wine tonight with Salmon roasted over the fire! Can't wait! Went with Carne Asada and turned the delicious Rose into a wild berry peach sangria. Cheers!

Lucky for Wilmington, the Winery is seconds away from the Brandywine-area State Parks and spaced well enough away from parking lots and traffic lights to feel like a different world entirely. Our MeetUp was tickled pink to share the generous seating at picnic tables and under shade on the grounds, with the vineyard as the perfect backdrop. The wine is great, but the true jewel is the fantastic Staff, with >exceptional< tasting guru Ani standing out as a singularly knowledgeable, gracious, and inviting Guide to all that Penn Woods has to offer. Looooove Pennswoods! Have been a wine club member for 4 years and really appreciate the value and care they have to share. Their wines are, in my opinion, the best in PA! I have been searching for comparable wines in PA since I had my 1st visit in 2006 and keep coming back to Pennswoods. Definitely recommend!

What a delightful winery! So beautiful with the vines growing behind the seating area. The tasting was really great. I'm not a white wine drinker but thoroughly enjoyed the Chardonnay. My fav was the Moscato Rose. The taste told me I should be at a beach and relaxing! The grounds were beautiful. We were also told they have horse derby twice a year. That sounds absolutely so exciting! I may need to arrange a flight up from Orlando to just go to that event! Thanks Matt for a great chat over the wine!

Nice ambience, if I’m paying $50 for a bottle of wine, I should not have to use a port-a potty. Recommendation: Upgrade to the nice all in one unit port-a potty’s with air conditioning and sinks. Bathrooms are a big deal!

This winery is top tier! The wine was exceptional and the staff were welcoming. The wine glass you receive for tasting is yours to keep. My family and I enjoyed ourselves and there was plenty of room to sit down and relax.

A great winery, a must visit! Awesome staff, great accesible location that is stunning to see, they use locally made honey, cheese, meats, etc for their food offerings. The wine though is the highlight, a great range of offerings. By far the best wine grown in the area.

I had a great experience here. I brought a friend who was visiting from California. We got a great explanation of our wine, cheese, and honey pairing. The atmosphere was relaxing, and we were able to enjoy the tasting at our leisure. I can’t wait to go back!

This winery had some of the most delicious wines that I’ve ever had. The grounds are cozy and beautiful and the staff are down to earth and friendly. We’d happily drive two hours again just to pick up more tasty wine and spend time talking about wine! 👌🏾

Very good Wine, Really enjoy the outside atmosphere with the entertainment. Plenty of chairs and tables for outside seating but can also bring your own chairs. The awnings they have outside are a plus to keep you out of the sun. It's my go to Winery.

Although I’ve never visited Penns Woods Winery, we have had multiple tasting events with them at our apartment community. The wines are fabulous and refreshing! Also, Alexa has been a complete pleasure to work with and has a lot of knowledge about each wine they offer! We love working with her and enjoy her company very much!

You would never know this gem is right off the highway. We had such a great experience doing a wine tasting on the porch and enjoying a few bottles in the grass. The pino was awesome and the staff was friendly. It was Quiet, as we came on a Monday. Can’t wait to come back!

We really enjoyed this winery. We ordered cheese and crackers to enjoy with the tasting. It was fun to learn about the history of the vineyard, and their wines are quite good. They specialize in whites, the chardonnay and traminette were my favorite and I bought some bottles. The weather ruined the rest of the day. Rain and unseasonably cold weather made us cancel the vineyard tour and picnic we planned. I'd love to go back!

Cool little winery south of the city with several different wines available for tastings, by the glass or by the bottle. They also sell artisan meats and cheeses as well as crackers on the side. Live music is a nice touch. Pet friendly outside but not on the patio. Bathrooms are porta potties. Kid friendly as well.

Teresa was a wonderful addition to the staff. Wine was tasteful and intriguing. Would recommend closing later!

Best Moscato I've ever had and now I only buy theirs

I've been to quite a few wineries in the area and in Jersey and I've found none of them really compare to Penns Woods. The beauty of the vineyards, the wide-open spaces to relax, chill, and enjoy their wine is just incomparable. I love the fact that even though they provide a limited menu, you can bring your own picnic and not be bound by some fixed overpriced menu. And by the way, the wines are excellent! Particularly the cabernets; a bit pricey, but worth every penny!

Penns Woods Winery is awesome! I went there this past Saturday afternoon with two friends. We had a blast! We did the wine tasting with Alexa. She is fantastic, fun, and very professional! I would highly recommend visiting this winery! You won’t be disappointed!

I came here for my birthday and did a wine tasting and I loved it! I also made a reservation for after so we could enjoy another bottle and the nice fall weather. They do take precautions because of Covid and have everyone get their temperature checked and all the tables are spread out. I loved the honey that came with my charcuterie plate so I had to buy some more!!!

Brought a full picnic lunch. Had some nice wine. Listened to some nice low mellow live outdoor music.
