This is the place for BBQ in the area. Real smoked meats. Good ribs, brisket and chicken. Made by folks that care. Great service, relaxed cabin-atmosphere. Nice long from porch for eating, sitting and people watching. Satisfies that BBQ itch!

What a great place. We were in the Blairsville area for a couple of days and had this twice! Had the brisket first day, and it was a great mix of tender lean meat and the succulent "fat" meat. Not dry, not gooey, but tender and amazing. Had the ribs the second day. Smokey, fell off the bone and delicious. The sauces were not needed but great too. Sweet was awesome. Hot was not " hot " but spicy sweet and delicious. Now here's the kicker. I am an anti vinegar sauce guy but it was honestly my favorite! Bbq beans- amazing. Slaw- amazing. Brunswick stew- one of the best I have ever had. Will definitely go back whenever possible

Something has changed with this place. The last 2 times we've been here, the food has been horrible: dry chicken, dry pulled pork,a slice of brisket that was all fat ( should have never been on the plate). We were regulars but I don't think we'll be back. Food is too expensive to not be good.

This is a great barbecue, very delicious, about the best one I have been in. We ordered a family dinner, plenty for 4 people and a lot to take home.

Wow, what a disappointment! Bbq ribs and brisket were way overcooked. Ribs were like, envision bbq ribs in a can…The brisket had texture of a chuck roast and was sliced incorrectly, too thick with the grain instead of against. Slow cooked, perhaps in a pressure cooker? The green beans and collards were too salty!

A couple of things. One: I am a vegetarian, so there was not a lot of options for me, but the potato salad was simply excellent. The reason I rated it so low is because my relatives thought it was disappointing. Two: the French fries are SO GOOD! Three: it is a lot of food, so maybe order small. For the people that did eat ribs they said they could have been more warm. All in all , I thought it was pretty good.

Still a great place for barbecue. This place has maintained its quality over the years. My most recent visit, I placed a to-go order to feed about a dozen people. The food was ready when I arrived to pick it up. Fast easy service. And all of my guests I shared the food with commented that it was the best barbecue they'd ever had.

Wow! Fed family of 9 a feast on July 4, 2024, for less than $100!!! Ordered Ribs & More plus 1 pound brisket. Came with rolls, baked beans, and mac & cheese. All delicious. Super service.

First time visiting this location. The food was ok but I have had better bbq at other locations. The restaurant was very crowded and small seating area inside with seating also outside on the porch. It was too hot to eat outside. The turkey was decent it looked dry in the plate but was actually really moist. This was my favorite thing I got. The sausage was ok had a really good smoked flavor. The ribs and brisket just didn’t do it for me. The brisket was too dry for me. The Brunswick stew had too much meat in my opinion but my father in law likes it a lot. The beans were ok. My mother in law said the potato salad was very good. If I am in the area I will give them another try.

This place is the real deal! Without a doubt, the best ribs I’ve ever had. They were so meaty and tender.

Asked a guy on the way in how it was, he said meh. But he was way wrong. This place is excellent!!!! We are pretty hard to to please and we were super happy we turned around after we smelled it. My husband said the only thing different he would have done is heat up the bread. The staff was friendly and hard working! It was a very busy Saturday afternoon and the food was out promptly, piping hot. Highly recommend the grits, stupid good!

I think this might have been the worst potato salad I’ve ever consumed… it was like water and onions. Meat was fine. Service was very weird. Atmosphere was cool, especially the patio. Inside kind of sucks.

The brisket was the best I’ve ever eaten. It was the perfect blend of fat and lean meat. The pork was very good, and the sweet and spicy bbq sauces were phenomenal. Enjoyed the greens and potato salad as well. The service was fast and friendly. If you’re near Blairsville you must stop in.

Stopped in late on a Sunday on our way home from camping and had great food and service. We tried the turkey, brisket, and chicken sausage. All excellent even though it was the end of the day. Also tried the macaroni salad and potato salad. No pimentos in either!!! They were great! Slaw was good too, definitely fresh and homemade. Our dinners were served with rolls, not sure if they are made in house or not, but they were delicious too. *We didn't realize it was less than an hour until they were gonna close, but everyone was really nice. Definitely worth making the drive to from surrounding areas.

We have been a fan and supporter for many years. Being a small business owner, we understand the challenges we all face today. When Jim first sold the restaurant we saw little if any change in the food and quality. Unfortunately today it was like eating at a totally different place. The ribs no longer resemble the ribs of the past in both appearance, texture and taste. The baked beans are a shadow of what they once were. The atmosphere that once made it a happy place was not present and there were very few patrons at lunch time. I can only hope the ownership can find their way as it is always sad to see a small business not survive after new ownership takes the wheel. I wish them the best........

Forgot about the North Georgia Bible Belt that closes most places in these hills on Sunday, but to my surprise, Jim's was open and I got to grab some food to go in between my hikes of Brasstown Bald and Raven Cliffs. Took my food and stopped at Dodd Creek Vista to enjoy one of the best views in all of Georgia. It was a perfect day and the sliced brisket and pulled pork was tender, while the cheddar gouda grits were fluffy and some of the best I've ever had and the greens were worthy of a Southern delicacy. Talked to the owner to order my food and she was extremely nice and a pleasure talking to. Your place is on my list to hit again when I'm back in the area!

Get their early if you want the stew or ribs. Great food, customer service is remarkable. Friendly and helpful. And top notch BBQ!

Enjoyed my first time (and certainly not my last!) for an early dinner at Jim’s Smokin’ Que today. Numerous staff came out and checked on the guests with such great customer service. Such a clean facility and wonderful atmosphere. We had the pleasure of meeting Megan, the manager, and she could not have been more pleasant! Cannot wait to go back!

We ordered for a big gathering of 20 people. They made the ordering process a breeze, and pickup was fast and effective. They were extremely helpful and friendly, and the food AS ALAWAYS was incredible!

If you're looking for southern comfort food for reasonable prices, look no further! This local gem is known to be the best bbq in town. I work as a manager at a hotel in the area and I recommend it to our guests every time. I've been to a couple gatherings in the area with Jims being their catered food. The mac n cheese is to die for and the wings are crispy & juicy to perfection. The ribs are also delicious.

If you want good solid barbecue, this is it imho!!! I’ve passed this place more times than I can count. Wonderful friendly service that is quick and professional. It might not look like it but this is a ton of food. I could have easily shared this with another person. I definitely will be back Lord willing :)

Our B&B recommended Jim's and we are glad they did! So delicious! We had pork sandwiches and sides. I blended vinegar sauce and sweet sauce and that had a pleasant warmth. My slaw was a good complement to the sauces. My spouse had fries which were hot and plentiful. The staff were friendly and it felt good to support a place that openly stated that they paid employees well. Parking was good. Decor was country casual. We will be back!

Poor customer service, I had a question about my order and the guy was rude. When my food came out he was swinging the bag around like a toy. They forgot my drink order. And the food was mediocre & over priced. Brisket was dry. Won’t be back

They do not smoke their meat at all. Bbq sauce is too sweet, bread was cold. Service is great and friendly though.

Stopped by for lunch today and had the pulled pork plate. The pork was very dry and seemed to not be very fresh. Huge portions, but the meat wasn't worth the ride. Hopefully it was just a bad day.

Smoked turkey and brisket are dried out and it was the first day of the week for them. It's only open 4 days. The original owners knew how to smoke the meat. The new owners don't.

Sadly, nothing tastes the same. I easily would have given 5 stars a couple of years ago, but something has changed.

We drove from Murphy looking for good barbeque. We stopped in Hiawassee and were told we have to go to Jim's. And make sure you try the banana pudding!!! We had driven by Jim's in the past, but they must've been closed. When we pulled up, the parking lot was packed. As soon as we walked in the door, a gentleman from Atlanta( he told us he drove all the way to Jim's from Atlanta) told us everything was great, but make sure you try the banana pudding. I had brisket , pork ribs, baked beans and banana pudding. My wife had brisket and sweet potato fries. I would say everything was off the charts delicious. The banana pudding, out of this world!!!! All of the staff were so kind, friendly and grateful we stopped in. I highly recommend Jim's, even if you're driving all the way from Murphy or Atlanta!!!!!

we haven’t been in a couple of years. Wow what happened? My favorite the Cole slaw was inedible,potato salad was terrible, fry’s were dry and cold. The brisket was sliced, we are used to it being shredded. I was practically in tears. Drove almost 3 hours chasing memories of such good food over the years . We will not be back

The food is good but $30 for 1 bbq and 1 brisket sandwich is high. Period.

I ordered a pulled pork plate. The pork was tender but not at all greasy. Fresh collard greens. The sauces were delicious and a wonderful surprise...house made yeast rolls. I can't wait to go back when I'm in the area and try the desserts. These people take pride in serving up good , fresh food.

First time here My friend and I were hungry after we hiked Was googling place to eat near me The food is yummy You have to try the banana pudding This will definitely be a spot to hit when I'm back up that way.

We eat here often and it's always consistently good. For some reason our plate of ribs was put up on the counter and it took approximately 6 minutes for the fries to be added before it could served. Then our server thought it was more important to clean tables instead of serving us when the food came out the kitchen - with us sitting right by it! Got tired of looking at it sit there so I asked if it was mine (only 2 other diners in the room so it was obviously mine) and she got huffy saying she was the only server working. Consequently the baby back ribs got to us cold which was a big bummer considering the cost of the meal. Last time I include the tip when I pay for the food! But...we'll be back, just please...get it to me hot! Update: We gave them another shot after a bad meal on our last visit last year. TOTAL FAIL!!! I've never had drier baby back ribs or brisket. Both inedible. $45 in the trash. Apparently we were given yesterday's leftovers because we were having an early lunch. What really burns me up is the ladies preparing the plates had to know that meat was not fresh and shouldn't have been sold. We will NEVER be back!

I have eaten a lot of BBQ. Jim's Smokin' Que is at the top of the list. Great food and great service. If you are not familiar with the menu, just ask and they will be more than happy to help. Be forewarned, the meat portions are large. My wife and I share a single pulled pork plate with an extra side and it is plenty! The collard greens are superb.

This spot is pretty basic, so the atmosphere stars have to do with it being clean and welcoming. I wanted great barbecue and this place did not disappoint. We ordered a bit of every meat and several sides, the brisket was outstanding but really everything was great. Highly recommend.

I don’t know why the reviews are so high. This was just meh. Nothing special. Dry and overpriced. Georgia and Carolinas don’t know bbq.

Friendly staff were very helpful. The sliced brisket was delicious and tender and the collards were good. The half-chicken was a bit small and dry but ok; the fries, however, were delicious. We didn’t love the chunky potato salad but it was ok as well. It is made there but still managed to taste like a deli potato salad. You order and pay at the counter and they deliver your food to you. Drinks and sauces are self-serve. The place is on the small side and it was packed but we were able to find a table for dine in. It’s decorated in an a nice antique country style but there’s only one single person bathroom. That was a big downside to us because we had quite a drive to go and needed to visit the facilities before leaving. Waiting in line for the bathroom took 15 minutes or so.

This place is fantastic, especially the ribs. I'm not usually a fan of BBQ ribs, but theirs are wonderful. Tender and moist; the meat practically falls off the bone. We bought a house nearby about three years ago and I now try to stop by for takeout at least twice a month. If you like BBQ, this is the place to go in northern Georgia.

Wow! This is some of the best bbq I’ve ever had!! I recommend the pork, ribs, brisket, and chicken sausage with onions. The chicken and turkey are probably delicious, too, but I haven’t tried them. I also enjoyed the coleslaw and stew. This place is busy but they do a great job at bringing the food out quickly. Don’t be discouraged if the parking lot is full, it’s delicious and faster than you expect.

The best bbq I had in awhile love the sweet spicy sauce. It's so good. We wanted sandwiches and they didn't get our order right but it was fine. The staff wasn't to friendly.

Family stopped in for lunch after some local hiking. Wonderful food. There was a good line out the door to order. Food arrived quickly and we completely enjoyed it. Great service and reasonable prices. Adequate parking. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Love coming here right at opening times because it gets packed later in the day. I always enjoy the pulled pork or piglet platter. The brunswick stew is the best here in my opinion.

Good evening my friend, Chris and his wife brenda took me here just the other night. I had a bad experience at one other restaurant and they said I know the best barbecue in North Carolina and they were absolutely correct. This place is awesome. The atmosphere is cool the porch was great to eat on, and the food was amazing! The portions were perfect definitely more than you need to eat had the carnivore platter. I got the pulled pork brisket baked beans and collard greens. We also had dessert. Everything was fantastic. I will definitely be going back, and I recommend it. To everyone! It’s a little bit of a drive but it’s well worth it and it’s a beautiful drive. Thank you so much for the great meal. I finished it up tonight at the house :-) Respectfully, Brad

A great stop just outside of Vogel State Park. We stopped there for dinner. The service was top-notch and the food was excellent. If you are a fan of Brunswick stew at all you must try it I've only had it once here but it's one of the best I've ever had. Tempted to drive the 2 hours every week just to get some more. Would also highly recommend the ribs and the brisket. And the vinegar BBQ sauce. The pulled pork was good but nothing to ride home about.

Came across this place after leaving Brasstown Bald. We are so glad that we did. The food was amazing! You order at the counter and they bring out the food. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We had the turkey and pork, with collards Gouda grits. All the food tasted great. Perfect flavor.

If you drive by Jim's Smokin' Que and think it's just another roadside rib shack, you'll be missing out on some of the best smoked GA Bar-B-Q in the state. Jim's is a simple place with a straightforward menu and seating. The food is the star with smoked brisket, ribs, pulled pork, chicken, and, for a bit of a smoking twist, turkey. There are a variety of sides and options for plates or sandwiches with each meat choice. Whether your destination is Blairsville or somewhere else in the North Georgia Mountains plan on including Jim's Smokin Que in your trip.

Very busy place with reasonably fast service. Prices are tourist driven so you can expect to pay $50 for two. If you are looking for a quiet meal experience this may not be the place for you. There is plenty of parking available but it can be a hassle

Updated on 10/26/2023 Still the best BBQ in the southeast. Pulled pork was so delicious. It was a huge serving. Cole slaw was creamy and delicious. And don't pass up their banana pudding! First time eating here. What a fabulous dinner! I had the alf rack of ribs. They were pure fall off the bone deliciousness. My friend had the pulled pork sandwich which he described as "just awesome". You place your order and pay at the counter. If you go later in the day, call ahead to make sure they haven't sold out of what you desire.

Wow. You might not expect what you get from this place! Looks can be deceiving! Drove in & the place was packed with people from 4 states. Walked in the door, it was standing room only. Ordered five to go plates. Within 10 minutes we had our food & was out the door. When we got home is when the magic really showed itself! Every bite delicious 😋 the pork, the mac-n-cheese, the potato salad and oh my, them green beans tasted like they came straight outta a little ol' baptist lady's kitchen! Now, let me mention the portions. Y'all. We all got a whole 'nother meal left for tomorrow and we are all miserable souls with full bellies tonight. 10/10 recommended!

Husband and I got a little of everything to try from this place (ribs, pork, brisket, Mac n Cheese, Collard Greens, Brunswick stew and Baked beans) Everything was SO good! Ribs just fall off the bone tender, brisket so flavorful and tender. The collard greens were so good I wish we had gotten more. After eating their food I was so full I had to take a nap and then I dreamed about eating more! 10/10 recommend
