The best hot dog I've ever eaten in my life. The lady who takes the order she is very nice

A landmark designation for a steamed hotdog and bun with their special relish.

Pretty simple ... inexpensive lunch. Couple of their signature dogs, which you order at the outside counter, and take with you in the car. Dogs were tasty, although it was odd that they wrapped them in a napkin which absorbed some of the liquid from the condiments. I can now say I experienced Flos.

well, silly to review “atmosphere” since there is none, but eating in the car is a small price to pay in exchange for the experience of a Flo Dog. Life changing. One of my favorite and yummiest traditions when staying in Ogunquit.

Wonderful place!! I’ve been going here since I was a little baby. The lady in the window always seems kind of crabby most days, but the food is worth it!!

Best hotdogs I’ve ever had. The hotdogs are boiled and the buns are steamed, which is my personal favorite.

I’m usually not a fan of steamed dogs but these were phenomenal. Definitely get the relish and onions. Just a quick little stop for a delicious snack. Biggest downside the hours open are very limited.

Steamed dogs Flo's way. The special relish was delicious and the taste lingered for a while. It's still just a steamed dog nothing crazy, I usually prefer a grilled dog. But for the nostalgia and Flo's being a Maine institution it's a must stop!

We’ve driven by this hot dog stand many times, but have missed the open hours each time (only open 11am -3pm). We finally made it during open hours and it was WELL worth the stop!! We added raw onions to the Flo’s House Dog and it was probably the best hot dog I’ve ever had. I’m not a fan of sweet relish, but this relish was unlike anything I have ever tasted. Definitely recommend but be warned, there is nowhere to eat your dogs so be prepared for a car snack!

Love this place! My grandparents use to bring me when I was a kid and now I bring my kids here. The hot dogs are great and I love Flo's relish :)

I have been a customer for over 50 years. The original proprietor, Flo, handed the reins to her daughter in law. That was her greatest business decision! Thanks to Gail this business has thrived and become part of the lore of Cape Neddick. Order the house special - steamed bun and dog, mayo, secret relish, and a touch of celery powder. Personally, I pair them with chocolate milk.

If you’re complaining because the line is long or because your “plain hot dog” isn’t worth the trip - I think maybe it’s best you stick with eating bland 7/11 hot dogs in your moms basement off Doordash…

People love this place and I don't get it. It's a hotdog and plain they cost 4$. I can go too a gas station and pay 2$ for two steamed hotdogs.

Okay, so originally I didn't understand the hype to this place. It's just a steamed hot dog right? yes, but these are cheap and filling. Yes it's just a steamed hot dog but they put special homemade relish and condiments that are truly out of this wolrd. These dogs are good but the only thing is the restaurant hours are a Lil weird, but that's alright. Can confirm, Flo be cooking up some good hot dogs.

These are my opinions and I don’t expect others to agree, but what is the draw to this place.? Granted a four dollar hotdog in this town is a steal but to me still not worth it. If you don’t like hotdogs in a casing do not go here because they only come one way. Your toppings are basically not much except for a relish that folks seem to love not my thing because it is onion based not pickle based but each his own. Cheap bite to eat, Yes but it also taste like it as well. You get what you pay for. Save your four dollars and cook one on the grill at home.

Wonderful place known the owners a family place since childhood been pretty much the same through the years get the house special a Flos source (like a nice sweet caramelized onion) mayo and celery salt but great anyway you go owners are fantastic.. enjoy

Great place, parking can be a challenge, but the reward is well worth it. If you like hot dogs, give this place a chance. It's cash only, so keep that in mind. Also, don't forget to grab a jar of that amazing relish.

Best hot dogs ever. Even the famous places in areas like NY & RI don’t even hold a candle to Flo’s. I could legitimately eat like 5 of their house special dogs.

This is an old school spot and it’s cash only. I got 2 House Special Dogs - I wouldn’t get it any other way. They didn’t look like anything special, but the combination was surprisingly delicious and I will definitely be a repeat customer. On a scale of 1-10, I would give it an 8.2

I cant believe anyone would leave less than a 5 star review.. I swear the world is full of Karens. I've been stopping at Flo's since the 1960's Never have I been disappointed with the food.. Last time i stopped they were closed, but I can imagine some Karen whining about that too..Real Delicious Hot Dogs, not some vegetable concoction fake meat..

A great place to get great hot dogs for a great price. Definitely try the relish and the house special. This location is also a convenient pit stop going to/from Agementicus.

Did not disappoint! Was on our list of places to eat in Maine and the hot dogs were outstanding! What they call relish is not what you are thinking - this is sweet & savory and would be delicious on anything! I wasn't sure I would like the relish but had to try Flo's House Dog since it's the special - I was back in line for a 2nd and bought 2 jars of the relish. Def worth the stop! ❤️❤️

Just left this little place. Off season no lines. Delicious hot hot dogs. Not lukewarm or cold but nice and hot. First time visit, ordered the Flos special with the homemade relish. Mom was right, this is awesome. I love the adorable women in the windows. The experience makes it a total win.

I can't imagine any negative reviews for this place. We ordered our food from one charming lady and were served it by another within a minute or so. The House dogs were wonderful, and certainly well worth $4. Love the relish and the steamed bun. Love the fact that you order from a window that is several feet above the person taking your order. It's weird, but that's charming, as is this entire place. Don't change a thing!

Update: Thank you for your reply. Flo's is not what it used to be. I understand the changes necessary to remain open during the pandemic. That is no longer the case.

This is a roadside hot dog stand. Nothing fancy but they do have great dogs. If you are close it is worth it. Don't expect some over the top place this is a hot dog stand with the best dog and relish around.

Cash only Open 11 to 3 Thursday thru Sunday Limited parking Straightforward ordering, know what you want - how many and what style (toppings) when it's your turn. This isn't the drive thru. Great hot dogs, hard to order just 1. Relish is for sale on site or at the local hardware store.

Sweet old ladies dishing up delicious hotdogs on the side of the road. Does it get any better than this? No. No it does not. There was also a family there from NJ that could not have been more from NJ, waiting for their lunch. I’m talkin slicked back hair, tank tops, and gold chains on a six year old. Brooklyn mechanics shirts on the 8 yr olds, dad pointing with his pointer and pinky fingers. Beautiful ambience.

Flo's is legendary. Any business that is only open 4 hours a day, 4 days a week and can remain solvent (actually thriving) is doing something special. If you go once, you'll definitely go back!

Flo's Hot Dogs and I were both born in 1959, the same year that my parents began taking me there. Therefore, no one can claim to have been a customer of Flo's for a longer time than I. Some possibly just as long, but certainly none longer. My extended family has a special connection to Flo's also, the many trips there together making for some very fond memories. One quick example, which has attained almost legendary status in my family, is the time that my Great Aunt Mary, (this barely 5-foot-tall, maybe 100-lb. French Canadian woman with a famously enormous appetite) ate 14 loaded Flo's Dogs in 1 sitting! 1 sitting! And I was there, about 11 years old, sitting right next to her. I saw her eat them. All 14 of 'em! It seemed like my Dad was constantly getting up from the picnic table to buy her more hot dogs... and then more... then a couple more... and another one... incredible! I love this place, and I have referred many hundreds of people here over the years. And they all love it, and they aIl have referred countless more here. I feel honored to be a part, however small and insignificant, of the history of this great institution. ☮️♥️🎸🙏🏻

A locally owned hot dog stand with delicious homemade relish. It is a must try for anyone visiting or anyone living in the area. Never thought I'd have mayo on a hotdog until I had one here. Trust me and the 1000s of others that have had it, try it before you say no.

FLOS is a overrated scuzzbucket of a establishment. Waiting a hour for a steamed hot dog. What the hell was i thinking. The manager owner sat down in her office chair and laughed about the long lines, refusing to help anyone. They treat the customers like dirt. I had better hotdogs in high school. Its also very dirty inside. No ketchup and cash only makes it worse.

I loved my experience at the shop, but the rolls were steamed to much, I will stop in again.

Not the greatest but did meet my expectations

I don't ever go out of my way to eat a hot dog, but these were something special. This is a small, roadside shack that's a tiny, cash only operation. You order at one window, pick up at another, and there's no seating. But, the hot dogs. A thing of beauty. Go for Flo's special/the original--sounds a little weird but it's slightly salty, slightly sweet and all around delicious. Definitely get two, they're on the small side.
