Very impressed with this hidden gem! Service was fast, staff was amazingly kind & helpful, even the chef came out to ask how our food was! Food was excellent & the ceviche was probably one of the best I've ever had. Overall 10/10

I have not had Peruvian food since I I left Miami a dozen years ago, and I was super excited to come. The service was amazing and the food looked and tasted like we were at someone’s house. The chicha morada and inca cola gave us all the nostalgia feels! We will totally be back again.

They have the best Cebiche mixto l,that I never tried before. So fresh, juicy and taste amazing, made feel that I was in Peru. The environment and the friendly staff make this restaurant a 5 stars. Thank you Rosa and husband for your kindness. 100 💯 recommend it.

This restaurant was very small but quaint a little hidden gem that had delicious food, clean , friendly service, the location had plenty of parking, On the corner lot. My feather is very particular, but really loved the attention and service from the owners and most important I love the food so happy we stopped to try it.

If you are thinking of giving them a try, do it! Located in a plaza full of parking. The waitress Rosie is so welcoming and makes you feel like home, very friendly and the food 🤌 we had lomo saltado and aji de gallina and it did not disappoint! First time taking our Mexiruvian baby and she also approved 🥰

The only problem with this place is that it's too far from where we live. The food was terrific, I would definitely drive another hour and a half to eat there again. I recommend the Lomo Saltado, it was just enough food even after splitting an empanada as an appetizer. Don't forget to have an alfajor as your dessert.

The nice place, the friendly Rosa lady, good service, the food not to mention flavor of Peru, legitimate flavor not like other restaurants that are from Peru and have nothing from the country, 3l pure latent flavor.

Excellent service, the staff is very friendly and charismatic. The establishment is very clean and tidy. Regarding the flavor, it is very rich, a very special touch that reminds me of my beautiful Peru. First time here, and it was a pleasant surprise! Very small , unassuming place, but if you want authentic Peruvian food at a fair price, this is a must. My friend and I shared everything. We started off with the ceviche, which was outstanding! Very fresh and tasty. Then our main course was the Chaufa Mixto, which is Peruvian fried rice with steak chicken and shrimp with fresh vegetables. This was an amazing dish with flavors popping like crazy! I ordered it with no salt and the chef came to our table to ask if we liked it. The thing for me is that I like to taste my food, not salt. The red peppers, onions, snow peas, everything had its flavor coming through. It's the best fr8ed rice dish compares to any Chinese restaurant which has so much sodium in it I gain 3 pounds from one meal. They served a small dish of Cancha Chulpe, which I admit I've never had. I loved it!! Its popped popcorn husks .We ended with a Peruvian cookie that just melted in your mouth. This is an extremely small business, and we have to support these kinds of places! I get sick of the same old thing. This is the place to get excited about what you're eating!

The best Lomo and Tallarín saltado of all US, I’ve been all over the place and this it’s by far the best place for Saltados, is just amazing!

The owners and staff were very nice and hospitable, the interior was cozy and well decorated with traditional Peruvian themes. The food was world class. Everything I tried was a flavor bomb, from the tallarines(spaghetti) to the seafood rice dish, the lomo saltado and the empanadas. Nothing I tasted was a disappointmen, not even the kids menu, from which I literally could not stop stealing from a baby. Definitely a new regular spot for me.

The Peruvian fried rice of steak, chicken and shrimp is everything. Worth every penny and worth a drive.

Great home made Peruvian food. We had the Chicharrón Sandwich and the Arroz con Mariscos. We enjoyed them so much we went back and order Empandas de Carne, we loved as well. We have gone to several Peruvian restaurants in Chicagoland and this rates as one of the top two along with Tanta downtown.

AMAZING FOOD! I have never eaten at a restaurant with such ‘cooked at home’ feel to it. It is a small restaurant but I will be traveling +40 minutes for more. Keep up the amazing work! Btw I highly recommend the green spaghetti with tenderloin. Great great food and even better service! The owners are amazing!

I was in town for work and googled “best restaurants near by” and first restaurant that popped up. It was absolutely delicious, especially the empanadas. You could tell she received such pleasure serving her guests and Wholeheartedly recommend

I love Peru Caters! Best food in the area! The Owner is such a sweetheart and a gem! She makes me feel welcome. That is why I come back almost every week! I order the Lomo Saltado and Peruvian Chicken with a green tasty spaghetti. The food is always outstanding and their sauces are delicious! You cannot find better tasting Latin food around!

I work in the area, and my husband was picking me up. He decided we were going to try Peruvian food for the first time. I have only great things to say about this restaurant. The owner was very welcoming. She even explained how certain dishes were traditionally eaten. She had great recommendations. I ended up having the Seca de res and my husband had the Lomo Saltado. Both were delicious and flavorful. We had the Chicha Morada as well. 10/10

The food was so delicious, we tried ceviche an it definitely feels like Peru. I'll go back soon.

We were on our way to see a movie, saw that this restaurant got great reviews so decided to try it.We had never had Peruvian food before. It was delicious! It is a small, family owned business. The staff was very welcoming and gracious when we asked them to explain some of the dishes.The only reason I gave it a 4 for atmosphere was because it only had a handful of tables and was in a small strip mall on a busy street. That didn’t bother us. We will definitely go there again!

I lived in Peru from 2009-2010 and have been wishing for a Peruvian restaurant nearby for the last 14 years! I've tried a few different Peruvian places in Chicago and the surrounding area, but none of them have hit the spot like Peru Caters. It is small and cozy with friendly workers and delicious food. As soon as I walked in the door I heard familiar Peruvian music and felt giddy to experience this little taste of Peru. I went for a dinner date with my husband and another couple. We ordered ceviche, aji de gallina, arroz con pollo, and seco de res to eat family style. All were incredible and reminded me of the home cooking I was accustomed to with the host family I live with. My favorite dish was the arroz con pollo. I was also surprised and excited to learn that Peru Caters makes their own chicha morada (purple corn drink), which was delicious! We had great service and incredible food. I cannot wait to return!

A super small place, the service is very slow... for the food that is... it leaves a lot to be desired... it is expensive and tasteless... the truth is a very bad experience... not recommended at all.

First time visiting this location. The pictures and reviews on google was the reason i came. This location been open for 11 months. The good reviews seem like it's coming from friends and family. Now that i am reading through and comparing to the experience i had. Let's start with Customer service. Welcoming and friendly. Love how Chef Willy came to my table and welcome us. The restaurant is small. Only 3 tables can fit. Per the owner they are in the works in expanding the location. FOOD REVIEW: Tamal, Tallarin Saltado, Arroz con pollo, Papa A La Huancaina, Ceviche, Arroz con Camarones Mixto, Kids Meal - Chicken, Fries & Rice, Chicha Morada, Lucuma Ice Cream - The food only is good on the pictures. There is no flavor. Hoping it was only one dish. Continue to order more. Sadly all the dishes mentioned had no flavor. Especially to even compare to our Peruvian Cuisine. The Ceviche had a gallon of Lime Juice. Seem like a Ceviche Soup. The Pork Tamales - Not shredded pork, there was 4 chuncks. The Maza is pale and dry. The kids meal -My child who is 8 didn't even eat it. Felt like going to a friends house who just started to learn how to cook last week. I'm sorry customer service is there. But the food just seems good in pictures only. There is NO Anticuchos or Pollo A La Brasa Here. Just FYI if that's what you are looking for. Trust me there are other Peruvian Restaurants Located in the North Side of Chicago that are exquisite. **Don't let the pictures and Friends/Family 5 Star Reviews Fool you like it fooled me **

I felt like being in Peru with the great attention of a nice couple of compatriots, their cozy place, music, decoration and a delight of food; I ordered a lomo saltado with noodles in huancaina sauce accompanied with my frozen Inca Kola and for dessert a delicious alfajor 😋

My wife is from Peru, and we have been trying to find a restaurant that comes even close to the flavors of her home country. As one can imagine, it can be quite difficult. The Peruvians know their food well. We tried all the top (and not) rated "Peruvian" restaurants in Chicago. I won't name them here, but you can search for them and you'll get an idea. None came close. Some were tasty, but they weren't really authentic. I thought I would never find a restaurant in the Chicagoland area that would really satisfy. Then I found Peru Caters. It's a small place, no frills. But the staff were very friendly, and the food was excellent. I believe the owners are from Lima, and the chef is from Arequipa. We had ceviche, empanadas, alfajores, and tamal. Not only was the food delicious, but it's the only place I've tried in Illinois that actually taste like you're in Peru.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I’m from out of town and was looking for a good lunch spot and I wish I found Peru Caters sooner. First off, the service is absolutely amazing. The owners are so welcoming and hospitable. It gives it a real family feel. The food itself was amazing. I tried Chicha Morada for the first time at the owner’s recommendation. It was delicious. I would come back for that alone. In addition to that, the Lomo Saltado was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Their house made salsas are great too. Can’t say enough good things about Peru Caters!

First time trying this place and the food was amazing. The owner is a sweetheart and I couldn't have asked for better quality. The fried rice was the best I have ever had, the aji de gallina, lomo saltado, and empanadas were a hit. My 2 toddlers even ate their kid meals and it's hard to get them to eat. 10/10 would recommend this place I'm glad it's so close to home too we are definitely going to be regulars.

I just ate at the best Peruvian food restaurant! The lomo saltado is unique! It's small but full of love and home! It's incredible that one sip of chicha morada transported me to the memories of my childhood with my father. I congratulate you because you make the restaurant a warm atmosphere!

Food was just average especially given the prices. Overall disappointed in service and how mistakes were handled. The staff forgot to make a meal for 1 person of our party of 4. We didn’t ask about it immediately because each meal came out at different times so we assumed it was natural for each person to wait longer than the next. When it was clear that something was wrong and we asked, it seemed as though they forgot to submit the order completely. By this time, it didn’t make sense to even eat it there so we had to take it to go. I am completely understanding of human error however, the small discounted coupon given to us for our next visit was a very disappointing action when truly the appropriate way to handle this situation would have been to comp the forgotten meal from the bill.

Today we have dined at this outstanding Authentic Peruvian restaurant, and the experience was truly delightful! The freshness of the ingredients elevated each dish to perfection. The yuca fries were crisp and flavorful, the arroz chaufa mixto was a delightful blend of textures, and the ceviche was a burst of refreshing flavors. The lomo saltado tenderloin was cooked to perfection, and the seafood paella was a seafood lover's dream. To complement the meal, I enjoyed a refreshing Chica Morada, which added a unique and delicious touch to the overall experience. The ambiance was welcoming, and the staff provided excellent service (thank you, Maria Rosa). I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving an authentic taste of Peruvian cuisine. A culinary gem worth revisiting!

It’s a very cute and cosy Peruvian restaurant. María Rosa and her husband were very welcoming and sweet. She also went over the menu with me because I was confused what I wanted to order. I got tallarines con mariscos (Peruvian-style spaghetti with seafood and sauces) and it was absolutely delicious! I also tried chicha morada (Peruvian drink made of purple corn) and helado de lucuma (Peruvian ice cream) and really loved it! I will definitely go back and highly recommend this place.

This is a small family owned business. You are greeted by owners as you walk in and the space feels like home. When trying new place, we usually order our favorites (ceviche, lomo saltado, and seco). It didn’t disappoint! You can tell they carefully pick good quality ingredients especially if it’s the star of the dish. Ceviche wasn’t chewy and too fishy and they customize just the right spiciness. They mastered that real lomo saltado! The char grill taste and the meat not gamy or cheap. And the seco stew with crispy yuca was the best comfort food for the gloomy weather. This family based their Peruvian style food from Lima and you can tell how passionate they are on making their costumers happy. Portions are good size and the green sauce/aji is very similar to those serve in those famous chicken spots in Peru 🇵🇪! The 30min drive here was very worth it! Can’t wait to come back for their other dishes

Fui a comer un lomo saltada o salteado. Vi como el chef flambeaba (encendía el wok para que las llamas entrarán y envolvieran el lomo, las rajas de cebollas y tomates) y el resultado fue exquisito. Me encantó. Hoy quería ir a comer un arroz con mariscos pero me enteré que está cerrado. Trataré de ir mañana. Felicitaciones y gracias por tan generoso sabor.

Ordered takeout via Uber Eats. I had ordered here before when they were in a food hall but I was excited to see that they had opened a new location in Itasca. As a foodie, I am always looking to support small local businesses and especially ones with unique cuisines. Peruvian food isn’t as pertinent around the area and it is very underrated. Decided to order the Aji De Gallina which is a creamy chicken dish and the ceviche. I was blown away by both the quality, flavor, and even presentation (very good for takeout). It’s the little things like these that let you know that they care. The variety of flavors and ingredients in each dish are very unique, complex and work well together. The serving size was great as well. I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to try something new.
