Yeah…… this place 🔥🔥🔥 I came here two days in a row and the food has been nothing but heavenly! Their steak tacos are AMAZING! The gentleman named Henry greeted me with a welcome and made me feel like fam! I think you guys need to come visit and see for yourself! 100% guaranteed you’ll fall in love!

This place reminded us to the Mexican places back on California where the real Mexican food exists. The service is great (even when the place was very busy), the food was abundant , and the prices right It is a small corner taqueria with good bives and great people. Congratulations to the owners!

I went in for lunch, and I got my order to go. I ordered a fajita steak burrito with NO tomatoes or pico de gallo. The order was made fresh while we waited. We left with our order, my burrito was very hot, so I waited a few minutes before taking a bite. Unfortunately, in my first and every bite, there was pico de Gallo. The food had a good flavor even though my food was incorrectly prepared. The portion size is humongous. It was like a foot long and about 5 or 6 inches around. I will give them another chance, next time I will dine in.

NOT AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD. I AM MEXICAN AND HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD A TORTA WITH KETCHUP, I DIDN'T EVEN EAT IT. THE SALSAS THEY OFFER WERE NOT GOOD EITHER, THEY HAD A WIERD TASTE. TO EXPENSIVE FOR IT NOT TO BE GOOD.

Delicious. Huge portions, so come hungry. Small but cozy place. Great menu with so many goodies. Refreshing aguas frescas!! My hubby had strawberry milk, and i had cucumber lime. I had three tacos, Mexican style, which came with rice and beans: shredded beef, shredded chicken, and steak. The shredded beef tacos were the absolute best. Whatever sauce the meat is stewed in is fantastic and spiced beautifully. Hubs ordered a chimichanga that cane smothered in queso, with beans, rice, pico de gallo, lettuce AND guacamole. We also ordered elotes but we were too full to finish everything!! Definitely ordered more than we could handle-- our fault! Everything was so flavorful and fresh. We will be coming back.

I have had the pleasure twice. Both times the food has been delicious. Tacos are bomb. I had the fish, chicken and the birria tacos. All delicious. I’m not very fond of the rice so I got fries this time. The first time I got extra rice instead of beans as the tacos come with both. This time when I replaced the rice and beans the other options were fries and salad so I asked for one of each to replace both sides. She told me only one and so I just got fries. The first time I wasn’t charged for a side of pico de gallo but then the second time they charged me $3.20 for a side of pico. The staff need to work on getting on the same page with pricing and portions. Lastly, the queso was really good the first time but this time it was too thick/solid to dip even after warming.

This is a little out of the way storefront restaurant, but the food is soo good! Everything we ordered was delicious! Would go back if we are ever in Daytona again.

This review is painful. My daughter introduced me to this restaurant in 2019 or 2020 (they were possibly open during the earlier phases of COVID). I was visiting from out of state and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The prices were very reasonable. I later moved to the area for two years and this restaurant was my comfort food. I recommended this restaurant to locals and folks that I met who were visiting from out of town. After relocating to Orlando, I often reflect that there were only a few things that I liked about Daytona and Ponchos Tacos was one. Whenever my daughter and I drive to Daytona, it’s a known fact that we’re eating at Ponchos. I ate there for my birthday last year. This is why my recent visit was painful. The prices have gone up. I think the chips and salsa used to be complementary, they’re not now. The steak in the tacos was excessively red from dye in the seasoning. My rice and beans were cool rather than hot. The rice was red. The waiter never asked if everything was okay. We had to ask for straws and salsa. The seats were worn and ripped. The cushion was poking out. I kept feeling something crunching under my shoes, but didn’t want to look down. We arrived after 1:00, so there was only one couple there. After they left, two more couples came in. I have been there when the place was crowded and the food and service were better. I only go back to Daytona about twice a year, so my patronage or lack thereof, might not matter much. I will miss ordering my tacos to-go and driving over to Fortunato Park to watch the Halifax River this birthday. I don’t know if Ponchos is under new management or it they’ve lost good staff. I hope things get better. My recent experience was not muy bien and I spent about $53 with the tip. 🇲🇽 🪇🌮

This place is great, this is our 2nd time and we are from Knasas and we love coming back to this place. It has great food. We tried the steak burritto, steak fries, bean burrito, and ribeye tacos. The food was all great. It does get pretty busy from time to time. There are possibly 10 tables inside and 3-4 outside. Come hungry because you get a lot of food. When we were there, they had 3 guys working, and they did amazing. We will be back when we are in the area again. :-)

This small on the corner restaurant. when we reached it was empty so kid needs to call someone but as soon as he reached he was right on job and we got our food quickly but in between suddenly lot of people came in and was not able to handle all request and there was a queue inside. food was very tasty and hot served. I love the food and Mexican drink as well as their fresh made juice. i love that even though bit pricer.

Food was okay, very busy place. The guy who took our order from around 8:30pm-9pm on May 28, 2024 didn’t really seem to care or pay attention to us as we were one of the last customers while the other customers who were still there also got served by him and even brought them chips and salsas. But the only person who was nice was the cook.

A small place that makes you feel welcome! A few American dishes but mostly Mexican. Everything from tacos, to enchiladas to burritos! And lots more!

Everything at Ponchos is so authentic and fresh. I would have to say this is the best Mexican food in the area. The salsa was amazing. I really enjoyed the steak and chicken fajitas. My guest loved the chicken enchiladas. The Empanadas are amazing. Phenomenal service and wonderful food. My tastebuds are on overdrive. The ice cream is amazing.

Small place on the corner of a busy street right before you get onto the bridge. We had to wait for a table because several people that had ordered to go were using inside tables. One of the staff helped get us a booth after to go orderers left. Food was good and service was to.

The only redeeming factor was the horchata. Arrived around 12:45 for lunch on a Sunday while we waited about 10 minutes to place a take out order and then another 30 for our food which half of the two things that were ordered were thrown onto the grill the second time we had asked when the order was going to be finished. Keep in mind there were customers who had ordered after us receiving their orders. By the time we got our food it was cold and our burrito fell apart almost immediately and the quesabirria tacos were full of fat. While in the restaurant there was another upset customer for an order made wrong who wanted a refund instead of having his food remade and I was astonished at how unprofessional two employees treated this man. Will definitely not be coming back or recommending this establishment.

I haven't been in Ormond for long but tried this place on a whim and it has been hands down one of the best food experiences I've received the food is delicious and authentic the atmosphere is very family like my only complaint was that I didn't find this place sooner 10/10 I will be back you guys just made a regular

We stopped by for dinner. The staff are super friendly and it's a great restaurant. I ordered the birria quesadilla and my husband ordered 5 tacos (3 for $11 and 2 single tacos). The total came to about $35 for some of the best Mexican food we've had. Everything was delicious, and I highly recommend this place!

Wonderful! Everything about this place. It's a small incredible gem in Ormond Beach. The bacon & queso fresco guac was so delicious. The barria taco & grilled fish tacos I had were amazing. And you have to try the fresas con leche popsicle for dessert--fabulous!! Do yourself a favor & try this Mexican place first. It's the only one you'll want to keep coming to!! And the owner is super friendly & gracious.

Man, Ponchos Tacos is the spot! I swung by for some grub and the service was quick, no lie. They got outdoor seats too, so you can chill and enjoy that Florida sun while you munch on some tasty tacos and cool down with that bomb Mexican ice cream. Def coming back!

My first time rolling in there. I'm from Midwest and honestly until I found this place I was getting bummed. These guys are the real deal and their food had wonderful flavors. Skip other places and go get your Mexican food in here. The bubble gum ice cream was yummy. Ice cream is homemade.

We went here with my picky kids and they loved it as much as the adults. The place is a tiny corner restaurant. They have an excellent selection of usual Mexican favorites. I found the ?ranchera sauce on the relleno more flavorful than most others I've tried. Though the salsa was par for Mexican restaurants in the US, the guacamole and pico de Gallo were on point. The guac was very chunky with plenty of lime. The food was generously portioned. Another highlight was the aguas frescas and other drink selections, like horchata. We were too full to get the ice cream but the selection was fantastic. I wouldv highly recommend this place and would love to go back!

Alone except for staff at 2 pm ordered Mexican shrimp tacos dined in, of course . Beans and rice average nothing special, tacos were good fresh tortillas grilled shrimp onion & cilantro. House hot sauce very tasty

I ordered the Al Pastor and the Quesabirria tacos because those tend to be my favorite tacos at most taco spots. The Al pastor had a good flavor, slight smokiness and sweet from the pineapple. Add the house hot sauce and you got a winner right there. The quesabirria were just ok. The consommé just wasn’t as flavorful as I was hoping. Due to that, the whole taco wasn’t the best. It’s a good tacos, I just don’t think if you are expecting a punch from the consommé that you should get these. The sauces were awesome. The hot sauce is the best, but the verde sauce is good mixed in with the beans and rice. Overall not a bad place to grab a couple tacos. I’ll be back and try a couple different taco eventually.
