Best gnocchi I have ever had! Old school Italian place with great staff!

I'm usually VERY picky when it comes to Italian food, but the dishes at a Posilippo were 100% authentic and checked all the boxes! The spaghetti with seafood were delicious, and so were the bruschette! The absolute best was the sauce for the Scaloppine, which added to the entire quality of the dish! The owner, Luigi, is also incredibly friendly and made the dining experience so much better by making us feel right at home! Will definitely come back to this restaurant and recommend it to everyone I know!

A delightful Valentine's dinner last night. Chef was once again a delight giving kisses and a rose too. His food is always fresh and tasty too. No place I would rather be than Posillipo. Magnifica, Bravo, Favolosa!

This is a 5 star for us all the way! You can’t get more authentic Italian food than this. It’s one of those hole in the wall places that simply blow your mind. The owner and chef stands about 4’8” and he is an absolute sweetheart. The food is cooked perfectly and tastes amazing. You must try the sizzling sirloin! Abbondanza folks! ❤️

I had a great experience at this little restaurant. The Italian food was very authentic and tasty. Prices were reasonable. This place really shined in regards to the service. The chef (owner) came to our table to see if we were enjoying the food. He also came to us before we left to thank us. You don't see that much these days.

I have drove by this spot over 1000 time didn't think twice about stopping. But yesterday a couple of ours wanted us to join them for dinner so we agreed. Limited parking and Older building not a lot of tables. Interior design out dated.. but from the time we walked in the staff makes you feel right at home.. limited drink menu with some beer and wines only.. not staffed well but the staff that was there were warm and welcoming. The process was slow but all patrons there fine with it.. wife had grilled salmon and vegs. I have filet mignon. My friends had cheese ravioli and filet mignon. And we had some apps that was Italian based and was good the salad was freshly made. The food came out and grill salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly cheese ravioli and sauce was home made. And the filet mignon was season and cooked perfectly. Chef came out and introduced himself. Chef/owner and dishwasher as he joked around. For hole in the wall Italian food was absolutely delicious. And home made tiramisu to finish the night was refreshing. The entire evening from seated to severed to getting the Bill was about 1 1/2. Prices was reasonable.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. The service is fantastic, the food is all home made and the best you will find anywhere. Love, love this restaurant.

To start the decor is not the main draw here for sure but does have good energy. It is a small restaurant so generally I would call ahead in lieu of walking in. This place does decent business as far as volume. For the dining experience. Posillipos provides a unique Italian sit down dinner experience in our fast paced time. You get to enjoy fresh Italian food cooked by an Old School Italian owner operator. This restaurant is a place where you are encouraged to sit down and have a meal cooked for you without rushed out the door for the sake of turner tables. Just like eating at home. If you have not tried Posillips definitely give a try.

This place is a rare gem. Delicious food. We have never had a bad meal here. Sometimes we get to share some limoncello with the chef (depending on how busy they are) The waitress, Dawn is five star quality! Love it!

Great Italian food, owner/chef is strait out of Italy. Small and casual but cozy setting. My wife and were brought by our daughter and her boyfriend. It is our new favorite place to dine. The chef came out to see all of his customers while we were there. Great experience.

This Italian restaurant was repeatedly highly recommended. When we read the comment of Feb. 2020, we entered the restaurant with some apprehension. Well, we were very pleasantly surprised when Dawn lead us to our table for four. The menu was quite extensive. We gave our first order to our waitress Angelique: a plate of Calemari and a plate of real Italian Antipasto with cool Pino Grigio. Although the small restaurant was full, the first course was delivered very quickly. Next, we ordered the main course. Two plates with Swordfish, fresh veggies and mashed potatoes, one plate with Eggplant and homemade tomato sauce and e one plate with veal scaloppine and Italian veggies. We chose Pinot Noir and San Pellegrino Mineral Water. The second course and the salad were well proportioned.. So, only two persons took a typical Italian Desert Canole with fresh cream. During the entire dinner. we never felt rushed. At the end of the meal, the Owner Chef Lugiano came to every table and greeted each guest and thanked yone for thevisit, a truly nice gesture. After two-and-half hours, we left Posillipo in a very happy mood. We hope tp be back soon.l We can highly recommend Posillipo to everyone who seeks true family service and excellent food and drinks. table for fojr .

I have been coming here for years! The food is always absolutely fabulous! Luciano is an amazing Chef! Dawn is the absolute BEST waitress on the planet. She knows everyone and remembers their preferences. If you want an authentic Italian meal at reasonable prices this is your place! If you are lucky you may even get Luciano to give you a shot of his homemade Lemoncello in the frosty glass Italian Boot! This is my go to restaurant. Anyone I have brought here has come back and brought their friends! Buona Cena!

I've been here a few times and always a hit. The chef is adorable and always introduces himself in Italian once you are seated. He even makes you a cute little appetizer, ON THE HOUSE! Wait staff sweet and personable. Last night I ordered the eggplant parm and found myself mmmm'ing and ahhhh'ing outloud. Usually, I order fish or seafood pasta which is delicious but the eggplant was NEXT LEVEL! Best I've ever had! They suggest you make reservations so do so. I called ahead and thank god I did bcuz I left my p#. I also left my credit card, woops! Received a call from my waitress, Angela to tell me I forgot it. This lovely girl offered to drop my card off to my house after her shift!!! Who does that?!! What a sweet girl !💛 Thank you Angela💛

You can have a nice sized group in the side room. Dinner means a couple of hours, they don't rush you Food is very authentic and Luciano is delightful.

Our waitress Dawn was one of the most friendly and outgoing I have ever had. The bread and olive oil went over very well. The salad was good but on the small side. The chicken parm was decent. The veal parm was nicely done and went over well.. The filet was excellent.

Real Italian food, the best meal I have had in a long time.

Place is in dire need of a renovation. Had some wall decor hung up with duct tape. Compared to the quality of food being served, choice of how tables, chairs & overall theme looked bland. Also had a musty smell once walked inside the restaurant. Besides the lack of aesthetic pleasure, food was really delicious & much respect to the chef.

I had Veal parm and it tasted just like dinner in Italy. Amazing!!! The only thing I didn't like was the wine. They only carry one brand and it wasn't very good in any flavor. However, the food was so good I have to give this restaurant 5 stars.

This restaurant is the everything you want from. A home cooked Italian meal. The atmosphere is low key, the staff is warm and inviting and the food is our of this world. Some of the best Italian food in the state (and that's saying alot). Recommend the spinach ravioli with artichoke and pink sauce. If your lucky, you may even her the Italian/American love story that brought the restaurant into being.

This restaurant brings back memories of my younger years. There are items on the menu that you don't see in other italian restaurants. I love the gnocchi and the stuffed zucchini flowers.. The restaurant is small with the owner as the chef and the waitstaff is very nice and accommodating. This is definitely a place that I will return to.

It's true, it's warm and friendly, but it's the FOOD that sends us back. Not the cheapest for sure but well worth the cost. I always get the lamb. Perfecto. My hubby loves the veal. Varied menu. Chef is picky abt his cuts. Call for reservation and ask what's available that day. Our go to for special occasions like anniversary.

No other Italian restaurant in Rhode Island comes close to the cuisine and service at Posillipo’s. The home made gnocchi are to die for and their signature Golfo di Napoli seafood platter is amazing. Wonderful atmosphere and owner Luciano Sias and their waitress Dawn give you a down-home night to remember topped of with a glass of limoncello. Don’t bother going to the Hill. It’s ALL HERE!

They have great homestyle Italian food. I have yet to order a dish that did not agree with my pallet. If you are looking for real Italian food made by real Italians this is the place to visit. It's a small venue so Look carefully or you will miss it.

Such a warm atmosphere created by owner Bruni and waitress Dawn. Food is consistently exceptional. Prices are reasonable. I go there often with my wife and frequently add my daughter and two grandchildren. Bruni brings Italian warmth to your dining experience - the same warmth you would receive if you were visiting an Italian household. I felt right at home. One of my absolute favorite restaurants!
